Hi, I'm a first joiner of anything online. I love following the pregnancy week by week. A little bit about myself - been married for 17 years. Currently have 8 children with my husband (4 boys / 4 girls). I have also had 2 miscarriages (one at 15 weeks; the other at only 5 weeks). I am now 11 weeks 4days. Hoping all is well with everyone!! Congratulations to ALL.

Jan. 15/08

This is driving me crazy.... 12 weeks 5 days and still no belly. Fit in my jeans like a dream... Can't wait until January 23 for my appt. Counting down the days until I can hear a heartbeat. Keeping my fingers crossed. I M/C before at 15 weeks..... so I'm real nervous....

Feb. 04/08

All is well ... just keep waiting one day at a time...Still soooooo sleeping. Can't get enough SLEEP... Did I mention I LOVE TO SLEEP. LOL Half way through winter. (definitely not my favorite season).... come on SPRING..... At least now I'm starting to show more (at 15 weeks). Just starting wearing maternity pants (with regular tops still though). I am now feeling the baby more.. YEAH!!! Next appt. in 2 1/2 weeks.... Can't wait

Feb. 13/08

You know, I thought I could feel the baby a bit...and now it seems for days on end I don't feel anything at all. It really stresses me out. I thought it would just get stronger and stronger and more distinctive. But instead --- it's like it just disappeared. Okay, a little more patience.... Next midwife appt. is Feb. 21. Must keep my mind on other things. As well I don't have m/s anymore - which is great - don't get me wrong. But with no flutters and no m/s - I can't help but think that something is wrong.....HMMMM

Feb. 22/08

Had my appt. yesterday. All is "PERFECT" !! I'm exactly where I should be and I was able to hear the heart beat again. It is such a relief - how comfortating that is. The heart rate was 120-130. Kinda low I thought, but I think it's still normal.... 4 weeks till next appt.

Mar. 7/08

Yup I caved in. No surprises for me....Had my ultrasound yesterday IT'S A BEAUTIFUL BABY BOY!! Everything is absolutely perfect... Couldn't ask for anything more. I guess that's the tie breaker..boys are one up in the family now.. lol

April 17/08

10:00 a.m. I have my 26 week appt. today. I can't wait. Weeks are just moving along. I feel the baby all the time now. Also getting more of those round ligiment pains (ouch!) Boy how I remember that feeling...lol Still no boy names yet - hope I find something I like soon.

12:45 p.m. Came back from my appt. hb is 140. I measure exactly 26 weeks + I've gained only 2 lbs. since the last appt. ----TOTAL WEIGHT GAIN IS NOW: 9 lbs. So far so good!! My next appt. is now scheduled in 3 weeks. after that it's every 2 weeks....That really makes it feel sooooo close. YEAH..

May 12/08

Had my appt. May 8th. Gained 5 lbs. in 3 weeks. But that's okay - makes my total to 15 lbs. now.

Appts. every 2 weeks now. Got more blood work done (check for iron & sugar). That should be the last of it. Heart rate was 156. Head was down. Don't think he'll be moving,'

Big families are beautiful.

May 27/08

Had another appt. yesterday May 26th. It was also my birthday. "Happy Birthday to ME" - 39 years old. I've only gained .5 lb. Grand total is now 16 lbs. Not too bad at all. Getting extremely tired / uncomfortable. Almost there... 5 weeks left to work (31 days total) - but who's counting. hee hee

June 12/08

Just came back from midwife appt. I've gained 2 lbs. Total is now 18 lbs. Baby is now in "breech position". That has me really depressed. All my kids were born naturally. The last 5 were born at home. I'm 34 weeks today - and baby decides to flip. UGHH!!!! Have a C-Section has always been my absolute worse fear. Lord, please help turn this baby around again!! Another appt. in 2 weeks. This will be the longest 2 weeks ever. I've got exercises to try to flip him again...I hope it works...Everyone please say a prayer for me because this really scares me....

June 26/08

Well had another appt. yesterday. Baby is still not head down...sooooo going for an Ultrasound today at 3:00 to find out exactly how this little boy is positioned. Last day of work tomorrow!! Yah Hoo!! Didn't gain anything...so still total of 18 lbs weight gain.

June 27/08

I am soooo bummed. My ultrasound yesterday confirmed a perfectly "BREECH BABY". I'm at 36 weeks. Please Samuel....turn form mommy. I've got so many ppl praying for me. I'm going on all fours to motivate this child to turn; putting an ice pack on top of my belly... This totally has me stressed out. "Breath.....". Okay, I must stay calm and accept the facts....if he doesn't turn on time - a C-section will be imminent. Boo-Hoo!!

July 9/08

I had an appt. with the midwife yesterday (at almost 38 weeks). She managed to perform the procedure to manually turn the baby around. He is now head down. Ya Hoo! Now I'm still hoping and praying that he stays that way!!! But I do feel a lot better knowing that my chances are good to having another natural delivery. After having my last 5 kids at home...this time I've opted to have this one at the hospital (still with a midwife)..."just in case anything else may go wrong"....

Aug. 21/08

I All is wonderful... Samuel is now 1 month old. Bare with me, I rarely come online anymore. At home all I have is dial up and it's EXTREMELY SLOW. Putting 1 picture can take 15 minutes... I'll occasionaly want to keep in touch... but sometimes it'll be a month or two. Take care lovely ladies...xx/oo

You are one heck of a lady! I am nervous about being 36 and having this blessed 3rd gift. We are over joyed this is our first one together and we couldnt be more happier! Best of luck to you!!

taysonrex - Monday, 2 June
So just out of curiousity, because this is my first. And don't get me wrong, I know you probably love each and every one of your children, but I was just curious if it is ever less special with each child? And I just mean the birth, I don't mean your relationship with the child.

CrazyEights - Tuesday, 27 May
Hi!! We just had our 8th baby. Isn't having a big family awesome? I'm secretly wondering if I'd like one more:) Congratulations on your pregnancy and all of your babies!!

mjeans - Thursday, 22 May
great message...thanks for the info and reassurance that other mom's have had larger babies...I'm just a nervous nellie with the pregnancy...it must be the age factor? That is weird about your oldest going for his driver's license, but how wonderful you truly have a sense of how quickly time flies and how fast children grow...good for you guys and all the best!

mjeans - Wednesday, 21 May
Congratulations on your pregnancy and in raising your children...that is such an accomplishment...good for you! I suppose each one of your pregnancies and births has been unique? We are expecting after a 15 year break in between and although I know what to expect, I also know this birth could be completely different. In fact, already my dr. is saying how big she thinks the baby will be (he's measuring 4 weeks ahead) so I'm getting a little anxious. My first was 9lbs at birth, so I think I'm just destined to have bigger babies...how about you...what have the sizes of your babies been? All the best to you and your family!

Maybe its the more kids we have the less people think we need?? I know it sounds selfish but we still need stuff and secretly I really want a shower. *sigh* Oh well! What canone do right!

nimzm2b - Monday, 12 May
WOW 8 kids! You go girl!! My mum had 6 and so did my grandmother, I can't say that I'm going to follow in their footsteps!! But I admire women who can cope with so many. Congrats on your little boy, I'm also having a boy so I think I'll stop for a while now that I've got a girl and having a boy.

amandag7 - Friday, 9 May
Thank you very much! THat's really reassuring.

Hi there, I seen your post in large families and just had to comment, I have 4 girls and am pregnant with a boy, my eldest daughter has said that now we will have four boys, and for number 9 they will fight if it is a boy or girl!!!!!! I just see that you have 4 of each and thought of my daughters comment, Good luck to you and your family

Thanks! I was also induced, with my first, and I would NEVER do it again. My BP had started to go up slightly and I was starting to swell, but I wish I would have held out a little longer. I've since researched, learned, and have benefited from it as just another one of those life learning experiences. I've had my other 2 homebirths, and I wouldn't do it any other way! The only way I would go to a hospital again and agree to induction or a C-section is if mine or the baby's life were in serious risk of death. I firmly believe that our bodies were made the way they are for a reason, and it is not to have babies sliced and diced out of them! I'm optimistic the end is very near for me. Seeing that mucus plug gave me the extra bit of strength I was wavering on. Good luck to you! Congrats on the big family! (My midwife has 9 kids! My mom is one of 12 kids...family get togethers were always a blast for me because I'm an only child. I vowed I'd never have an only.)

Thank you for your note :o) I have been trying to just chill and not concentrate so hard on feeling the little one, I do know that God knows and has a plan and there is some peace in that! Have a beautiful weekend and thank you for the prayers!

mzlady85 - Saturday, 19 April
the reason that my dr. wants to induce is because i have pupps and i have it really bad so the dr. said i should induce

livinjoy - Wednesday, 16 April
Best wishes and congrats on your little boy to come! I am expecting my 4th and felt the baby a little last week but not really anything since...I get so frantic (had one m/c) but reading your posts from February helped some :o) My next appt is the 25th and I am hoping and praying for lots of wiggles and a strong heartbeat!

ya castor oil seems a little too agressive.
great talking with you! have a nice night (o:

DanaLee - Thursday, 27 Mar
the plan was to work up until the bitter end but.. ya.. not going to happen. my hands and ankles are swollen.. sitting in this chair KILLS! and not being able to leave and go for a nice walk outside when i want too is proving to be too hard... i will probably end up waiting at home too! did you ever try any of the raspberry leaf tea/spicy foods/sex type stuff to move things along?

DanaLee - Thursday, 27 Mar
i was only given 10 vacation days for the year when they i told HR i was pregnant, got sick in january and there went those vacation days! so not starting as early as i would like - want more time on the back end (out of the year we get) last day is April 10th, i'll be a few days away from 37 weeks!!!

DanaLee - Thursday, 27 Mar
not ranting at all! i am at work and wasting time - ssshhh.. hehe.
i have an OB who is not my family doctor (unfortunately she doesnt deliver babies anymore) and they are part of a team of around 6 or 7 so, when the time comes it could be any one who shows up, not the best thing but i will stick to my guns and let them intervene only when i feel like it is needed.. i will trust my body best i can and keep moving through the labor. i am slightly outspoken so you can be sure i will question an IV if they do try to put me on it right away! or anything else they try to do for that matter.. also the hospital where i am giving birth has jacuzzi tubs in the L&D rooms too, so i will take advatage of that!

DanaLee - Thursday, 27 Mar
thank you so much for your words of encouragement and wisdom. I have done tons of reading, and although we do not have a midwife or doula I know that my husband will be right there for everything, as he always is.. I am going to try staying home as long as possible before going to the hospital (to avoid them trying to push drug after drug on me) and focusing on the pain ending and the baby being here rather then the pain happening.. I think my only disadvantage is that this is my first baby so I don't really know what to expect except that it will really hurt!

gr8scottswife - Tuesday, 25 Mar
How many children in all did your mother have?

blessedmom2b - Friday, 21 Mar
Thanks for the 'breastfeeding' encouragement :) I'll need all I can get! Hopefully I can get hooked in with a class at the hospital, too. Hope all is well with you!

blessedmom2b - Thursday, 13 Mar
Hi! I saw your post in the 'breasts' forum (lol)...that just sounds weird. Anyway, I'm happy to know that you were a 32 A and had no problem breastfeeding. I am 32A as well and have worried that I won't produce enough milk. I guess all women are different! Thanks for your post though, it gives me hope! I guess the good thing is they will never sag haha:) You are due 2 days after me, congrats and good luck with your NINTH! wow:)

fisheagle74 - Wednesday, 12 Mar
Thanks!! Guess I will start drinking before then!! Congrats on your little boy!

JoJoUK - Wednesday, 5 Mar
