It's a Girl!

I am 26 years old pregnant with my second child. first was a wonderful little boy who looks just like his daddy and now we are having a little girl! YAY! everyone keeps assuming im going to be done after this because now i will have a 'matching set' i just laugh and tell them we will know when we are done.

My husband is Currently deployed in Iraq, so I have left our home in California, to go stay in Florida with my family, who is a TON more helpful! He doesn't come home until January, and they have no idea when he will be able to take his two week leave to meet his daughter. The one thing they know for sure is he will not make it home for the birth. which is really sad, but i get to talk to him frequently so i manage! i miss him SO much though!!!!!!!!!

March 7th

Ok so a lil update, i went back and had a new ultrasound done. See when i had the first one done it was a lil bit too early because my husband was shipping out and we wanted him to see the baby! They told us it was a girl, but since it was early there was still a chance that could be wrong. Well i strongly felt it was a girl, but didnt want to start buying all that cute pink care bear stuff only to find it was a boy. So i talked to my doctor and she told me could have another ultrasund done, strictly to see the sex. i would have to pay, but it was actually really cheap. For the regular ultrasound it was $45.00 and for 4D it was only $50.00. now you only get 4 pictures with that, but i didnt care i just wanted to be sure.

So i went back and had it done friday, and the lady was super nice As we were talking i mentioned my husband being on Ft. Bliss right now, and that in a week he ships off to Iraq, and the very nice lady gave me extra pictures so he could have some to take with him too!

And let me tell you i kinda find the 4D a little creepy n weird, but i figured what the heck why not go for it, its only $5.00 extra, and seeing my little girl in 4D was amazing! I could actually see her sucking her little fingers and smiling. She has the same nose as her big brother! So here take a look, this is my little baby girl, Alexis Lynnette!

I am so in love!!!

March 21

I went to a doctors appointment today, my last in California, and found out i have high blood pressure! Extremely high blood pressure. I told my doctor about my husband leaving for Iraq, and my impending trip to florida, and he said that even with all that going on my blood pressure still seemed to be higher than it should. like he thought there is more to it than just stress. he mentioned something about it being too early for toxemia, i didn't understand what he meant. we talked for a bit and then he had the nurse take my blood pressure again and it was still way too high so he prescribed me blood pressure medicine. i dont want my poor little girl being in danger because of things i cant control! im so worried! but worrying just makes me even more stressed n blood pressure higher, so how am i supposed to keep this under control? i guess thats what the pills are for huh? he also told me i need to get a new doctor and get in withing a week because if i was staying here with him he would order me back weekly to keep an eye on my blood pressure until it let up! so now i have the added stress of dealing with finding a doctor asap when i get to florida and am still barely unpacked n moved in and haven't even had the chance to purchase my own car, so i have to rely on others! deep breath count to 10! i need my husband to come home and calm me down so bad!

Saturday, 29 Mar

Ok so i `m in florida! yippie! I miss my husband, but living with my brother is great. Drew has a male role model he ADORES to play with. and i can relax here.I had to get set up with my new doctor, of course, but because i `m on Tricare, they require a referal from a primary care doctor before i can see an Ob?Gyn. so they recommended one. How funny is that, my OB/GYN recommends a primary care so that the primary care can refer me to my OB/GYN. lol so i had a super quick last minute appointment with my primary care yesturday. And he said he was happy to inform me that my blood pressure is normal, but judging my my measurements, feeling the baby, my complaints on certain pains, etc etc, he thinks i might actually be a little further along than we thought. so i tell him yeah i know the doctors said im due may 26 but that conception doesnt match up, the U/S showed due date at may 19th which makes me a week further along and makes more sense. The doctor says well no i was actually thinking you are 36 weeks.WTF???? now this isn `t definate, but what do i do if i lost a whole month here? i just got to florida, i still am unpacking, settling in, getting me and my sons rooms set up. i haven `t even put the crib together yet, or packed my bag to take to the hospital. I was thinking i could take my time and relax with it, because i have two months. boy My blood pressure went right back up!!!!!!!But i `m trying not to stress about it too much since i go see my OB/GYN Tuesday.

Tuesday, 1 Apr

Well the other day i went to put my crib together and when i opened the both and took it out it was broken. i decided not to freak out over it, i contacted the store i ordered it online from, but no where can i get the same crib, they are even out of stock online! O.O still trying not to panic...they can exchange for something similar and if its a lil more expensive they `ll adjust the price. ok kool. so i go down there today and they only have 2 cribs to choose from...neither were close to what i had, but i figured i have too much other stuff going on to flip out, so i will just get the closet thing out of the two. which neither had teething rails or were even the same color as what i ordered, but it would take too long to have another shipped n if it arrived broken too i would probably have a heart attack. so i sucked it up, and got a crib...went home and put it together, i was a lil frustrated as i did this because it wasnt going how i wanted it to. BUT when i was done i was actually very pleased. im still not 100% thrilled with it, but i can at least breath a sigh of relief knowing i have one less thing to worry about. and the color of the wood doesnt really matter yet, because there was nothing else in the room to miss-match with it yet anyway. ^_^i have that appointment in the morning, hopefully he actually checks n measures and its not just a meet and greet.

Okie dokie. so Tricare is Completely rediculous. Lets start by reminding you that i just moved to florida so i had to get a new doctor, at the same time i was enrolling into Tricare Prime since my husband is only recently deployed and on active duty status. Tricare Prime requires you to have a Primary Care Manager for normal doctor issues, and when you need to see a specialist, such as an OB/GYN, your PCM (primary care manager) has to submit a referal to tricare for it. since i hadnt been assigned a PCM yet when i got here i found one myself. The doctor had no problem with taking me on and referred me to the ob i wanted and all was right in the world. Well i have been having severe pain in my hip, and my ob thinks rather than do a bunch of Xrays, and pain meds that aren't good for the baby, lets try Physical Therapy first.

So my Ob is attempting to make all the arrangements for me, but i need my PCM to agree to refer me to a PT. My ob calls my PCM and they say they dont even have me listed as a patient, and that my PCM is a different doctor. Come to find out Tricare reassigned me to a doctor in Augusta, GA. folks thats a 5-6 hour drive. I can't drive all the way up there everytime i'm sick. or need a referal. So i call Tricare to get it fixed and they act like they dont understand what my issue is. Whats wrong with the PCM i was assigned? finally i get them to put in a request to change it. so now i have to wait to find out if they can change it, and if i can get referred. i'm gunna have my baby before all this red tape is cut! =p

on another note my OB took me off my blood pressure meds at my last visit which is great because i plan on breastfeeding and they say you shouldn't while on those. so hopefully i can keep the stress down the next few days and have normal blood pressure when i go for my check up on Monday.

I have no appetite, and force myself to eat, then i feel sick and have heart burn constantly. I have not gained any weight in weeks, but am still measuring two weeks earlier than my due date.

I miss my husband horribley, haven't heard from him in nearly a week. and i just cry about everything. And to top it off i have all these "friends" that stopped talking to me 2-3 years ago when i joined the army/moved away. They felt abandoned, and betrayed because i wasn't there to answer to their bidding anymore. And they didnt want to keep in touch with me while i was in California, because i guess long distance friendships arent any fun *shrug*. and now suddenly they found out i'm back in florida and want to be my best friends all over again like nothings changed. and i get to use my pregnancy hormones as an excuse to get away with telling them to piss off! One even stopped by my house unannounced and wanted to hold my son, who she has never met or even once tried to contact me to get info about how he's doing. i was enfuriated.

got my crib up, my bag packed, my sons bag packed for his stay at his grandparents while im having her, baby clothes and blankets washed, folded and in her little dresser, a small supply of diapers, and baby monitors aimed (camera's), and my double stroller and breast pump being shipped to me as we speak. i think i finally have it all in order. cross fingers. ^_^

Friday, April 25

Well i am 36 nearly 37 weeks now and i am SO tired! I have been suffering the worst insomnia ever. All day all i want to do is sleep, but as i have a 20 month old its not a possibility. I keep thinking that when he takes his nap i will lay down and take one too. But his nap time is my time for laundry, dishes, shower, things i can't do easily while he's up and running. Or on the days i set all that aside and try to just nap, i just lay there forever until i finally start to drift off right about when he wakes up. Then at night i put him to bed, and go to lay down and on the nights i fell my body might actually shut down and let me sleep, it just doesn't work because i start feeling ill. Nausea, vomiting, irregular bowels. i feel like i'm in the first trimester again! its got to be stress related.

I really wish my hubby were home to hold me and help sooth me off to sleep. /sigh and a lil sex would probably help relieve some of the stress and knock me out too. lol

So great to hear that everything is going well for you guys and that Drew is adjusting so well. I feel bad for my son because he's been so excited to be a big brother but since he's had a nasty cough all this time, he can't really be too close. I hate it. I feel like he has to be feeling rejected, but I don't know how else to protect Alexandria from getting sick. Hopefully, his cough gets better soon. Even if he doesn't, hopefully I recover quickly enough to do stuff with him. I can't wait to start going for walks and stuff. How long before you felt up to more activity? Whenever I do stuff around the house, my lochia increases, which I guess means I need to take it easy. You probably haven't had a chance to rest at all have you?

Hi there,

How are you doing? Miss you lots!

I had Alexandria yesterday. I'm so happy not to be prego anymore! Now I just can't wait to go home. We tried to get released today, but it's like prison here and we have to do our time just like everyone else. :(

Anyway, we're in perfect health. As hard as they try, they can't find anything wrong with either of us. I should be able to post pics tomorrow. Write soon. I miss chatting with you!

xxxx

How much harder is it having 2 kids??? More than twice as hard, don't you think?

Any chance of the hub getting home for a little while?

Are you ok? xXx

dedra40 - Friday, 23 May
I can imagine that's pretty tough. I know having a baby while Jesse was deployed was always something I was terrified about. I have so much respect for you and all women who can raise a family while hubby is overseas. I only ever had to worry about myself (and his mother). Hopefully though, the time will pass quickly and he'll be back home before you know it. And remember, you still got all of us! *hugs*
