Hi, My name is Amy. I am a proud mother to an awesome little girl (age 4) McKenna Grace. I am married to my best friend and have been now for 10 years. He is the most amazing husband and father. We are VERY excited about the addition to our family. We are expecting a little boy (Braeden Michael) on November 19th.

This pregnancy like the last has been pretty much smooth sailing. With both I had a low lying placenta that by week 26 had moved up. I took my glucose test on Friday the 17th and received the results on the 23rd. My blood sugars were elevated and I now have to take the 3 hour glucose test to rule out gestational diabietes. I feel like it was a false positive type thing. Hopefully it will all work itself out. I don't think I can handle a restricted diet.

I love being pregnant. Everything about it is wonderful. Even if I do complain about the aches and pains and the heart burn. Nothing is greater than feeling the baby move and know that I have created that life.

Well, I am here because of a GREAT friend. She is also a VIP! Due one week after me. After hearing some of the things that she has read and seen, I had to check it out for myself. Unfortunately, I won't have much time to play here.

October 17th, 2007

Just a quick update. Not much to report. I am just getting bigger every day. My last few appts, my weight has stayed the same. I am still down about 9 pounds total. I was 12 to begin with and have only put on 3 lbs since July. I figure with the way I am growing that I am bound to post a big week! LOL Everything has been good at each Dr visit. I am measuring almost 4 weeks bigger than I am. When I went for the growth U/S at the end of September, he was measuring about 4 pounds 9 oz. That put him in the 75th percentile for his size. My OB seems to think that if I go full term he will be about 8 pounds. That is fine with me. Just as long as he isn't bigger than that. I do go again on Oct 31st for another growth U/S. She wants to make sure that he is growing at the proper rate. My Daughter stopped growing at 35 weeks. So she wants to make sure he does the same. I had to be induced with her because from week 35 to week 38 she didn't change in size at all. They said that my placenta had stopped functioning and was not providing the nutrients she needed. She was born at 38.5 weeks and weighed in at 5 lbs 12oz.

I am getting very anxious to see him. The laundry is done, the nursery is finished. We have the car seat and the cam-corder. So now it's just time for him. I have to host my BF baby shower this Saturday (10-20-07) and once I get thru that, I think I am ready. (Well my work says I am not! ) Hope everyone is doing well. Not much longer

Not much is going on in my world. Just working and getting ready. My little guy is running out of room. He is comfortably located on my right side with feet or knees in my ribs. Apparently that is good for him, but not so much for me. My Dr has checked me and I am not progressing. Barely thinning and no dilation. She is going to check me again on the 8th to see if I am making any progress. If so, she said she might consider inducing sometime around the 15th or 16th. Only 3 days early. She don't like to induce, she says they will come when they are ready. I am okay with that. I enjoy being pregnant even if I can't sleep or walk much.

We had pictures taken on Sunday. I am not real happy with them, but it shows my belly and where I am at with him. When I had them with my daughter, I had her 3 days later. SO... maybe... LOL

I am still working. Will be until the Dr tells me different or the baby does. I am not actually doing my job these days. My replacement is, and I just set back and direct. SUCKS! I get so bored. I am taking off on the 16th. That will be my last day, baby or no baby! But something tells me that I will have him before then.

My daughter is ready to have him here. Several reasons. She is ready for her brother, but she is ready to have mommy back to normal. She misses my lap and being able to crawl all over me.

Birth Story!!!!!

Well it all started about 4 am on 11-10. I woke up and felt a little wet and thought I needed to pee. I laid there and about 4:40 I rolled over to feel the trickle of fluids. I got up to find that I was bleeding. So, I called the hospital and they said to come on in to go to triage just to be checked. After 3 hours there, they admitted me. My contractions were 5 minutes apart, but not real strong. Once in my room, the contractions almost stopped, so they started the pitocin. I was only dilated to 4 and not progressing really quick. They broke my water and gave me my epi pretty early ( I think around 4 or 5). At 6pm, I was still at a 6 and still only 70% effaced. The Dr stripped my cervix to spead things up, and that did the trick. By 7pm, I was feeling the preasure of each contraction. By 8:30 I was REALLY feeling the preasure. I told the nurse several times that I thought I might be ready and she said she would page the Dr. At 9 pm, me and my sister were watching the monitors, because my contractions were less than a minute apart and lasting nearly 2 minutes. Then, Braeden's heart rate started to decrease. It was 160 and dropped to 120 during my contraction. Then it kept going down. It hit 90 and I hit the nurses button. But before I could even get my finger off the button, I had 2 nurses and 3 Dr's in my room. They ran everyone out and started checking me. Like I had already told them... I knew I was ready. He was crowing and there was no delaying the delivery. They paged my dr, and began preping me. His heart rate dropped again to about 57 and they flipped me over on my left side. It came back up and was stable. They went back out and got my husband. He came in about the time I was pushing for the second time. He barely had time to get in the room. I pushed 2 more times and there he was. My little Braeden Michael! The put him on my belly and he was perfect. They cleaned him up and wrapped him in blankets and gave him to daddy. With in a minute.... he peed all over him. So, daddy got Christened first!

I had him at 9:11 pm. 6 lbs 13 oz and 20 inches long.

He is a wonderful baby. He don't cry, he is so sweet and lovable. He does have a cold right now, but we will make it thru!

I hope everyone enjoys these days. No matter how hard it is, how tired you get... your not alone. We are all here doing the same thing. It's okay to cry, it's okay to feel scared or nervous. It's okay to have second thoughts. It's okay to be worried or stressed. That is all the normal part of post partum. This is my second, and I thought I would feel different this time. But the truth is I don't. I am still nervous, worried, I still cry all the time... And just like the last time, it goes away. I am just making sure to enjoy these days as much as possible.
