Well, let's see where to begin. I am pregnant with a baby girl & I'm due on April 1, 2008. I am VERY excited & so is my boyfriend Shawn. I found out I was pregnant on July 18, 2007 which was 7 days before my period was due. My very first symptom was when I was taking a shower & all of a sudden I felt REALLY dizzy & nauseous. I have never felt that way before, so I thought I would take a pregnancy test. The positive line on my pregnancy test was VERY light, so I took another one & the same thing happened. So then I decided to wait another 2 or 3 days & re-tested & sure enough, the line came out much darker. Me & my boyfriend have only been together since June 12, 2007 so I became pregnant about 4 weeks after we began dating. It's something we were planning for later on down the road, but it just happened sooner than we had expected & we are very excited to be bringing a baby girl into this world. When we first found out, we were very nervous & scared. Not scared because I was pregnant, but scared with not knowing if we were going to be good parents. We found out the sex of the baby on November 7, 2007. We were really hoping for a girl & that's what we got! I would've been just as happy with a boy, as long as the baby was healthy. We decided to name our little girl Kayleigh Marie. I can't wait until she is finally here! Good luck & congrats to all of you other mommy to be's! :)

October 26, 2007 (17 Weeks & 3 Days)

Well, just wanted to put a little update. I am really excited because now when I lay on my back, I can feel a hard ball in the lower part of my stomach! Hoping I start showing soon. I felt the baby move twice so far in the last 2 weeks. It was kinda like a twitching feeling in my lower stomach. I'm pretty sure it was the baby, but haven't felt it since which makes me a little nervous. Went to the ER a few nights ago & babys heartrate was 155, so that's good! Now just awaiting the November 7th appointment to find out the sex of the little baby! :) Will post up my sonogram pictures as soon as I have them done!

October 29, 2007 (17 Weeks & 6 Days)

Getting bored & figured I'd post another update. My stomach is definitely getting bigger. I'm pretty excited about it & only 9 more days until we find out the sex! Trying to keep myself busy so the days go by faster. I can't wait to find out so I can go shopping for baby clothes. I've already gotten a few big things from Walmart. I got a stroller, car seat, walker, baby swing, play pen & high chair. They're all Winnie The Pooh. Then I got the Winnie The Pooh crib bedding & stuff for the nursery & got the crib. Now I've just gotta get a crib mattress, some clothes & just the little things like bottles & everything which I'm sure most of that I'll get at my baby shower. But hope all you other mommy to be's are doing good! :) I enjoy talking to everyone on this site.

October 31, 2007 (18 Weeks & 1 Day)

Me & my boyfriend came up with 2 baby names. One for a girl & one for a boy. For a girl we chose Kayleigh Marie & for a boy we chose Kaleb Michael. We find out in 7 days & omg I can't wait! It will be the first time I see my baby on an ultrasound. :) Praying for a girl, but will be just as happy with a boy, as long as the baby is healthy. Next update will be November 7th after my sonogram.

November 8, 2007 (19 Weeks & 2 Days)

Well, went to the big doctor appointment yesterday afternoon & we found out the sex of our baby. It's a little girl! We're so excited. I knew for sure that's what I was having, so I'm just glad they confirmed it. She weighs 9 0z right now. It took the doctor a little while to find out the sex because she was moving around so much & wouldn't lay still lol. I've got 6 sonogram pictures too that I will be posting up as soon as I can find the cords to my darn scanner! :) Kayleigh Marie is half way here.

November 12, 2007 (19 Weeks & 6 Days )

Well, tomorrow I will be moving into 20 weeks & I couldn't be happier! 2 days ago I went & bought the baby some clothes. My boyfriends sister also gave us a bag of practically new baby girl clothes & a few pairs of shoes that haven't even been worn. By the time Christmas is through & the baby shower, I think the baby will have more clothes & shoes that I have. It's very hard to believe I am now halfway through my pregnancy. It seems like just yesterday we found out I was pregnant. Time is just zooming by now! :)

November 15, 2007 (20 Weeks & 2 Days)

Well, I was beginning to get a LITTLE nervous because I wasn't feeling my baby move at all & it seemed like everytime I read the posts in every week, women were feeling their babies early. Then FINALLY 2 days ago, I started feeling the baby move. I felt her kick me in my right side yesterday & for the last hour she's been kicking me in my lower stomach. It's an amazing feeling & I can't wait until my boyfriend can feel her kick by putting his hand on my tummy. I've just gained 8 pounds so far. After my first 2 appointments, I had only gained 2. Then my appointment after that, I didn't gain anything because I was throwing up for a week straight EVERYTIME I tried to eat something. But this last appointment I gained 6 pounds. So 8 pounds total isn't too bad to me.

November 23, 2007 (21 Weeks & 3 Days)

So, yesterday was Thanksgiving & I THOUGHT I'd be able to eat a LOT. Well, I was wrong! Ate a tiny bit of turkey, some mashed potatoes, corn & a biscuit & I was stuffed! I think it was mainly because I drank soda before I ate, so that probably made me full faster. Then of course I had to leave room for the pumpkin pie. I swear after I was finished, I thought I was going to pop. Felt like I ate so much. Can't believe just 3 more days left of week 21 & then off to week 22. This is going by SO fast! Can't wait to see my little baby girl.

November 24, 2007 (21 Weeks & 4 Days)

Well, I was originally going to do the theme of the nursery as Winnie The Pooh, but ended up changing my mind. The nursery was going to be painted this very light green color to match the bedding, but then it would look more of a boys room. I wanted to make it more girly so I returned the bedding set to Walmart & got this cute flowery bedding set. The room will be painted this light purple/pinkish color to match. Going to buy some pink curtains, a white table lamp with a pink lamp shade & then my boyfriend bought these cute white & pink flower shaped picture frame things that came with an ink pad to put the baby's hand print in one frame & her foot print in the other. Her room is going to be so adorable! :) I will post up pictures when the whole thing is finished which won't be for another 2 months possibly. But hope everyone is doing well!

November 26, 2007 (21 Weeks & 6 Days)

Well, today is my last day in week 21 & then off to week 22. I can't believe only 18 more weeks to go until the baby is finally here! Just got bored so thought I would leave a little update. Nothing much has changed really. I'm listening to music right now with my laptop near my tummy & the baby keeps kicking. I think I'm gonna start reading her a story every night because I heard that it's good to do since the baby can hear me. Now I'm just awaiting the day I can feel her kick from the outside of my tummy. Thought I felt it the other morning, but I dunno if I really felt it or if it was just my mind playing tricks on me. Only 10 more days until my next doctor appointment. I can't wait to hear her heartbeat again & see how much more weight I've gained lol.

November 28, 2007 (22 Weeks & 1 Day)

Well, 2 nights ago I felt the baby kick from the outside of my stomach for the first time! I was at my boyfriend's house & we were lying in bed when he put his arm across my stomach to get ready to go to sleep & the baby kicked his arm. He was SO excited he jumped out of bed. It's awesome to feel the baby kicking from the outside of my stomach & not just from the inside. Also, when she kicks now, I can see my stomach jump in the same spot she is kicking. It's so awesome! Then my mom had her hand on my stomach & her hand was really cold, so the baby kicked her hand about 5 times in a row. :)

December 4, 2007 (23 Weeks)

Well, lately I've been feeling Kayleigh kick multiple times everyday! It's such an awesome feeling. I could also see my stomach jump in the spot that she is kicking. Well now I can see my belly move all over when she moves. This is the first time I've actually felt her "move" & not just kick. I could lay in bed for HOURS & just watch her move. It's amazing & I seriously can't believe I have only 17 weeks left until my little princess is finally here! <3

December 7, 2007 (23 Weeks & 3 Days)

So, I went to my doctor appointment yesterday & they told me that my blood tests all came back perfect & negative for down syndrome, cystic fibrosis & all that stuff. It's such a relief, even though I would love my baby no matter what. So, I got weighed & gained about 14-16 pounds so far & the midwife made it seem like it was such a big deal of the amount of weight I've gained. Then she said a girl gained 85 pounds through her pregnancy & had to get a c-section. Well, have I gained anything close to 85 pounds? I think not! It just irritated me because normal weight gain through a whole pregnancy is 40 pounds. Well I am more than halfway through my pregnancy, so even 16 pounds isn't half of 40 pounds. Anyway, change of subject before I get ticked off even more. We heard the baby's heartbeat & it was SO loud this time & very easy to hear. Except for the fact that the doctor kept losing the heartbeat because Kayleigh was moving around so much. It's hard to believe that I am already in my 6th month. Pretty soon my little princess will be here! :)

December 17, 2007 (24 Weeks & 5 Days)

So Christmas is coming up & I'm SO excited! Only 8 days left. Me & Shawn finally finished our Christmas shopping for his side of the family & my side. It was sweet of him to think of getting stuff for all of my family members. Another exciting think is that I will be moving onto week 25 tomorrow which means only 15 weeks left until I get to finally meet my baby girl! Yesterday I filled out quite a bit of baby shower invitations for some friends & my side of the family. Shawn just has to make me a list of people from his side that we are going to invite & then my mom has a few friends from her work that she'd like to invite. So I'm thinking it'll be a good sized shower. I went yesterday & set up my baby registry at Walmart, so that's all set. Now after my baby shower, I've just gotta get Kayleigh's nursery finished. All I've gotta do is get the room painted which will be pink.. Put up her pink curtains.. Set up her pink lamp.. Then just do the white wire shelving in her closet & we'll be all finished! :) I am so excited & can't wait until she is finally here. The beginning of this pregnancy was going by REALLY slow & now it's kinda zooming by, but it could be going by a little faster. That's all for now, will update after Christmas.

December 19, 2007 (25 Weeks & 1 Day)

I am SO glad to be another week closer to my due date. I think she is having less room to kick because I haven't been feeling her kick multiple times throughout the day. She still kicks & moves everyday, but just not as much. In fact, I was just leaning over the bathroom sink plucking my eyebrows & since the counter was pushing against my tummy, her feet or hands were pushing out on the left side of my stomach. It was so funny. =] Just thought I'd update on that. I've got another week & I've gotta go get my glucose test done to see if I have gestational diabetes, which I hope I don't. Then January 2nd is my next doctor appointment.

December 25, 2007 (26 Weeks)

So today is Christmas & it was the best one by far! My boyfriend came with me & my mom to my grandma's last night to stay the night. This was my first Christmas spending it with a boyfriend. I got so many things for the baby. I got a new baby scrapbook to make for the baby, a Winnie The Pooh diaper bag filled with things, her first Cabbage Patch Doll, 10 adorable bibs, headbands for the baby, socks, a pink blanket, about 8 outfits for her, umm.. A couple bottles, pink hangers & small stuff like that. Then for myself, I got a few maternity shirts, remote start for my car, lip gloss, gift cards, perfume & other stuff. Oh yeah & I got this BEAUITFUL heart necklace from my boyfriend. =] Next Christmas will be better because we'll have our baby girl here finally! =] Can't believe I'm already 26 weeks & exactly 14 weeks left. Yay!

January 4, 2008 (27 Weeks & 3 Days)

So, I had my doctor appointment today & everything went well. Her heartrate was 160 which was awesome the doctor said. I also got the good news that I passed my glucose test. Umm, what else. The doctor said she's measuring a little small, but it's nothing to be concerned about. So hopefully she'll be about 6 pounds at birth. My next appointment is in 3 weeks on January 23rd. Then I start going every 2 weeks.. Then every week! It's so close, yay!

January 28, 2008 (30 Weeks & 6 Days)

I had my doctor appointment January 23rd & everything went well. Heard her heartbeat & the doctor said she sounds very healthy from her heartrate which is really good. I am now going to the doctors every other week. My next appointment is February 7th. I also start my childbirth classes February 19th. Wednesday morning though I got really dizzy, felt like I was going to pass out & then started sweating & got nauseous. Then on Saturday, we were grocery shopping when I got dizzy again & vomited. It happened twice in one week, so I am thinking about calling my doctors office just to see if everything is fine. Hard to believe I've got just 9 weeks left!

February 6, 2008 ( 32 Weeks & 1 Day )

Went to the ER yesterday morning because I was having bad kidney pains & come to find out, I have a bad Urinary Tract Infection so I am taking antibiotics. Had an ultrasound done too & Kayleigh is head down right now thank goodness & she weighs 3 lbs 9 oz. Only 7 weeks & 6 days left! :)

February 12, 2008 ( 33 Weeks )

Went to my doctor appointment & gained 2 pounds in 2 weeks which is a LOT better than I've been doing. Blood pressure was 100/80 which I am assuming is good. Baby's heartrate was 139. I explained to the midwife how I've been having menstrual cramps & lots of pressure in my stomach which I couldn't exactly tell if they were pressure or tightening. She said I am having symptoms of preterm labor & if I get the cramps again ( 6 within an hour ) to come into Labor & Delivery so they can stop my contractions until week 35 or 36 which is in another 2 or 3 weeks. Coming soon! We shall see what happens.

February 20, 2008 ( 34 Weeks & 1 Day )

So, Sunday I went to the ER because I was having really bad pains in my right kidney. I JUST got over a UTI & now I find out that I've got a 4mm kidney stone in my right kidney. I've been in SO much pain & can only take Tylenol which really sucks because it barely works. But I went to the doctors yesterday & babys heartrate was good. The doctor measured my uterus & said I'm measuring at 37 weeks, so I have to get an ultrasound done next Friday which is February 29th to see how big she actually is. But at 32 weeks, she only weighed 3 lbs 9 oz, so we shall see what's going on & if they'll be changing my due date. I'll be updating next week after my ultrasound.

February 29, 2008 ( 35 Weeks & 3 Days)

Went to my doctor appointment today & had an ultrasound done because I've been measuring at 3 weeks ahead. But baby is measuring right on track for 35 weeks. She is 5 lbs 2 oz which is good. So I say she will be about 7 lbs at birth, which is a plus. I get another ultrasound done next week. Yesterday morning I believe I lost pieces of my mucous plug. It's the only thing I could think of that it could've been. I am hoping she comes early. I've been walking around the mall & everything just to try to speed things up. I hope it works! Well, I will be posting up my 3 ultrasound pictures either later tonight or tomorrow. Whenever I get the chance to scan them. Will update at my next appointment! Just 4 1/2 weeks to go, woohoo!

BIRTH STORY

Ok, I woke up Wednesday morning at about 5:30 with VERY bad gas like pains. So I went to use the restroom & when I wiped, I saw some blood on the toilet paper. I KNEW this was it. My contractions were about 4-5 minutes apart so I woke up my mom to get me to labor & delivery. As soon as we got there, they hooked me up to all the monitors & checked to see if I was dilated. While they were checking me, my water partially broke. I was 3-4 cm & my cervix was almost completely gone. I was in some pain so they let me get in the tub just to ease off some of the pressure. After that, I got back into bed & between then & when I hit 7 cm I was in a lot of pain. Nothing that I couldn't really handle, but I could NOT get comfortable so they finally gave me a epidural at 7 cm. I felt SO much better after. I couldn't feel my contractions at all, not even the pressure from them. So I slept a little & when I woke back up, they checked me again & I was 9 cm except my whole water hadn't broken so they broke the rest. It took me a while to get from 9 cm to 10 cm but I did it! After 16 hours of labor, I was ready to push. But I could feel everything because my epidural had wore off when I hit 9 cm. I pushed for an hour & my body hurt, I kept saying I couldn't do it. They had to give me a episiotomy which I didn't feel at all & the baby was out. She was born at 9:26 pm Wednesday March 12, 2008 & was 6 lbs 4 oz & 19 3/4 inches long. I cannot even explain what it feels like to be a mommy for the first time. All I can say is that it is an amazing feeling & of all the pain I went through, I would do it all over again! It's well worth it, trust me! :)

April 4, 2008

So, my babygirl is almost a month old & I can't believe it! Since birth she has gained 12 ounces. So she now weighs exactly 7 pounds. She goes on May 15th to have her first shots done. I just love being a mommy. Me & Shawn would definitely like to have another child or two. But not until Kayleigh is 4 or 5 maybe. We will see! :)

Well, Kayleigh now has a new doctor because her other one was not calling me back about things & just seemed not to care about anything. She was not keeping up with things & every single time we had a doctor appointment for Kayleigh, we end up waiting for 1-2 hours & that was getting a little ridiculous. She had a doctor appointment today & now weighs 9 lbs 5 oz which is good. I can't believe that she is almost 8 weeks. She is growing way too fast. I remember when she fit into her preemie clothes & I looked at the clothes the other day & can't believe she was able to fit into them lol. Will update at her next appointment when she gets her first shots.
