Me & my boyfriend Shawn have a beautiful 5 month old daughter named Kayleigh. She was born on March 12, 2008 & 9:26 pm. She weighed in at 6 lbs 4 oz & was 19 3/4 inches long.

BIRTH STORY FOR KAYLEIGH MARIE

Ok, I woke up Wednesday morning at about 5:30 with VERY bad gas like pains. So I went to use the restroom & when I wiped, I saw some blood on the toilet paper. I KNEW this was it. My contractions were about 4-5 minutes apart so I woke up my mom to get me to labor & delivery. As soon as we got there, they hooked me up to all the monitors & checked to see if I was dilated. While they were checking me, my water partially broke. I was 3-4 cm & my cervix was almost completely gone. I was in some pain so they let me get in the tub just to ease off some of the pressure. After that, I got back into bed & between then & when I hit 7 cm I was in a lot of pain. Nothing that I couldn't really handle, but I could NOT get comfortable so they finally gave me a epidural at 7 cm. I felt SO much better after. I couldn't feel my contractions at all, not even the pressure from them. So I slept a little & when I woke back up, they checked me again & I was 9 cm except my whole water hadn't broken so they broke the rest. It took me a while to get from 9 cm to 10 cm but I did it! After 16 hours of labor, I was ready to push. But I could feel everything because my epidural had wore off when I hit 9 cm. I pushed for an hour & my body hurt, I kept saying I couldn't do it. They had to give me a episiotomy which I didn't feel at all & the baby was out. She was born at 9:26 pm Wednesday March 12, 2008 & was 6 lbs 4 oz & 19 3/4 inches long. I cannot even explain what it feels like to be a mommy for the first time. All I can say is that it is an amazing feeling & of all the pain I went through, I would do it all over again! It's well worth it, trust me! :)

So, my babygirl is almost a month old & I can't believe it! Since birth she has gained 12 ounces. So she now weighs exactly 7 pounds. She goes on May 15th to have her first shots done. I just love being a mommy. Me & Shawn would definitely like to have another child or two. But not until Kayleigh is 4 or 5 maybe. We will see! :)

Well, Kayleigh now has a new doctor because her other one was not calling me back about things & just seemed not to care about anything. She was not keeping up with things & every single time we had a doctor appointment for Kayleigh, we end up waiting for 1-2 hours & that was getting a little ridiculous. She had a doctor appointment today & now weighs 9 lbs 5 oz which is good. I can't believe that she is almost 8 weeks. She is growing way too fast. I remember when she fit into her preemie clothes & I looked at the clothes the other day & can't believe she was able to fit into them lol. Will update at her next appointment when she gets her first shots.

yes, thats what it felt like, like a sharp pain. well, i've gained 40, and i'm not happy because i was doing so good early on. right now, i'm having so much trouble getting a deep breath, i feel like i cant breath! my mom put herself in labor with her second by running up and down the stairs until labor started. she was late though, i think.maybe just a day late or so. but it worked! i heard raspberry tea can cause contractions.

hey, i was reading ahead, and did you know that when you hit week 37, your considered full term? i never really thought that! i mean i know you can go between 3 weeks early or 3 late, but that seems weird because we are going to be in week 36 this week, and then considered full term next week :>

yeah, i will get stuck with a c-section if she isn't head down. god i hope she is! qhen they feel the top of your uterus and then the bottom does it feel tender to you when they press on the bottom, it did to me this time, i actually could have said ouch. one thing i'm tired of seeing is the scale still going up on every visit, i just want it to stop already. i even have been eating less because there is no room. i think this should be the point where our weight should be at a stand still, and sometimes at the end, you even start to lose weight.my husbands friend had their baby a few weeks ago, and she had her baby in 2 hours! i'm shocked because this was her first, she is young, and her frame is very tiny. i guess her water broke in their truck, and they headed to the hospital got there around six and they had him at like eight! she pushed only 3 times and the baby was out. that is just too fast, and it was her first. boy she better plan on having at home delivery emergency kit at her house next time!

hye, i had my appt today. everything looks good, but i noticed something when i left my urine sample. flakes of tissue like things floating in it. i remember that happening with my first, not long before i gave birth. it's either my mucus plug getting loose, or maybe cervix softening. i also have been having tingling so i had her send out my sample for a uti.she also said it was up to me if i wanted to come weekly or every 2 weeks because i was fine, so i picked 2 weeks because it's a pain to come every week. i have a sono on the next visit, the 13th, to see if she is still breech or not.

Hey Nikki, I jumped ahead a few weeks back into week 36 I think it was, and I was reading what people were saying, and exactly what you are explaining about the soreness in your thighs potentially means that Kayleigh has dropped in the pelvis. ~Which is great news~ I seem to have soreness everyday when I wake up, but then it tends to ease as the day progresses. I hope this helps. I really hope when I see my doctor on March 6th after I get that group b strep test, that I get an U/S. I keep on thinking and worrying if somethng is wrong with the baby, but I know it's normal to worry. I worry about the amnio fluid, her weight gain, movements. Like my other friend on this site her daughter is just like Kayla. She has a few days where her baby is active and a couple of slow days. I'm sure she is okay! I just know it will be a lot easier worrying about my daughter outside of the womb, don't you agree !! ;) I really hope you feel better, and I'm sorry you are going through this horrible kidney stone pain. My first pregnancy that ended in misscarriage I had gall stones. After I had the D&E a month later I had my gall bladder out. It was pregnancy induced gall stones. So far so good with this pregnancy. I am just so ready to hold Kayla already. Her nursey will be completed this weekend. The paint is all done, and we are getting the furniture. So I will post up pics as soon as I can when it's finished with the Care Bears bedding !!! So Excited. I bought the Baby Dreft detergent, and I'm starting to wash all her clothes, and I never thought I would have so much fun doing laundry. *what Is wrong with me* hahaha lol !!! I had a doctors appt on Wednesday and I am measuring at 42 cm. I had an u.s done on the 22nd and the baby measured 6lb 9 oz

Hi I saw your comment about the plug you thought you lost you might of lost part of it or it just might be discharge but if its part of it you should have some more coming which isnt unusual to loose in pieces but the rest might come out in a big glob...its just gross you'll know what it is lol

LOL, im just anxious because the doctors haven't been proding around down 'there' since I first found out! going to be weird. But that's good to know it's not uncomfortable. It's not like a pap is it?

ugh i feel the same exact way you do, i feel like i did a split and ripped my pubic bone apart.. everything is sore too! I have these red bumps on the bottom of my stomach that are so itchy!!!

good luck I heard the same about the kidney stone passing hurting worse than child birth, I was so scared to pass it!! How have you been feeling lately? I think I have reached my miserable stage! I am ready for this boy to come out! lol

they said mine was a half and inch big and it wont pass on its own I will have to go after I have the baby to have them blast it. It gives me pain every once and a while!

nice. Im measuring a week ahead, my dr says its because my little boy is a little on the big side, but he said not to worry!! :) maybe they will induce you if your little girl is really big!!

I had an internal exam, and trust me, it wasnt fun! I was in so much pain, he reached his hands up there so far and i thought i was going to pass out, and then afterwards i had the WORST cramps and BH :( I hope your internal goes better than mine!!

im ok, I've been having really bad cramps lately, and my dr checked me internally yeseterday for dialtion, and i was so terribly sore afterwards and had even worse cramps! he said its because my cervix are changing position and im getting ready to dialate!! :)I cant wait to have my kid already! is your nursery complete?

That sounds like a goos idea, and the weather will be mild so I should get my butt out there and walk as much as possible. That would be nice to have her right in my due date. I see my OB next Thursday and I get the strep test done then. So I wonder if that is what's been going on, because I am still having the cervix discomfort. Feels like pins and needles up there. She is attacking my bladder and that feel feels like a pin is stuck up there Ugh!
