Me & my boyfriend Shawn have a beautiful 5 month old daughter named Kayleigh. She was born on March 12, 2008 & 9:26 pm. She weighed in at 6 lbs 4 oz & was 19 3/4 inches long.

BIRTH STORY FOR KAYLEIGH MARIE

Ok, I woke up Wednesday morning at about 5:30 with VERY bad gas like pains. So I went to use the restroom & when I wiped, I saw some blood on the toilet paper. I KNEW this was it. My contractions were about 4-5 minutes apart so I woke up my mom to get me to labor & delivery. As soon as we got there, they hooked me up to all the monitors & checked to see if I was dilated. While they were checking me, my water partially broke. I was 3-4 cm & my cervix was almost completely gone. I was in some pain so they let me get in the tub just to ease off some of the pressure. After that, I got back into bed & between then & when I hit 7 cm I was in a lot of pain. Nothing that I couldn't really handle, but I could NOT get comfortable so they finally gave me a epidural at 7 cm. I felt SO much better after. I couldn't feel my contractions at all, not even the pressure from them. So I slept a little & when I woke back up, they checked me again & I was 9 cm except my whole water hadn't broken so they broke the rest. It took me a while to get from 9 cm to 10 cm but I did it! After 16 hours of labor, I was ready to push. But I could feel everything because my epidural had wore off when I hit 9 cm. I pushed for an hour & my body hurt, I kept saying I couldn't do it. They had to give me a episiotomy which I didn't feel at all & the baby was out. She was born at 9:26 pm Wednesday March 12, 2008 & was 6 lbs 4 oz & 19 3/4 inches long. I cannot even explain what it feels like to be a mommy for the first time. All I can say is that it is an amazing feeling & of all the pain I went through, I would do it all over again! It's well worth it, trust me! :)

April 4, 2008

So, my babygirl is almost a month old & I can't believe it! Since birth she has gained 12 ounces. So she now weighs exactly 7 pounds. She goes on May 15th to have her first shots done. I just love being a mommy. Me & Shawn would definitely like to have another child or two. But not until Kayleigh is 4 or 5 maybe. We will see! :)

May 1, 2008

Well, Kayleigh now has a new doctor because her other one was not calling me back about things & just seemed not to care about anything. She was not keeping up with things & every single time we had a doctor appointment for Kayleigh, we end up waiting for 1-2 hours & that was getting a little ridiculous. She had a doctor appointment today & now weighs 9 lbs 5 oz which is good. I can't believe that she is almost 8 weeks. She is growing way too fast. I remember when she fit into her preemie clothes & I looked at the clothes the other day & can't believe she was able to fit into them lol. Will update at her next appointment when she gets her first shots.

i got my sono done at st. josephs imaging in radisson. thats all they do there are 3d sono's. and i didn't have to pay, my insurance covered it because you need a script from your dr to go anyway, and they wanted to check my fluid. my dr. uses st. josephs imaging, and there are different locations like, the city, north medical, northwest medical, and radisson, but radisson is the only one who has the 3d, it's their newest facility. it's off of 31 heading towards baldwinsville, you will turn into the radisson medical complex before the budweiser plant.

i don't think it is good for you to be cramping so much. i hope you do not have to suffer through cramps for the remainder of your pregnancy.

wow, your measuring 35 weeks! i hope your contractions stop. today was awful, my daughter fell and hit her head on her wooden chair, and i scooped her up to to see, and she had a gash right above her eyebrow. i ran and put a bag of frozen corn on it, and it was bleeding pretty bad. luckily, my parents live next door, so i called my mom and she came right over. i knew that she would need stitches. my mom held her while i got dressed and called the pediatricians office. thank god they do stitches there. so we rushed her over there, and it was the worst thing i have had to go through with her yet. she did good for a 2 year old, but getting it numb was the worst thing ever. they are sticking this long needle into her head, and we are trying to get her to not move. i was talking to her the whole time, and holding her little hands, practically laying across her. she was talking back through a little crying, which helped. i just talked about anything i could think of, the snow, stickers, birthday parties, anything! when it was time for the stitches, i told her they were strings, and i would say, ok kate, here's another string, and she would repeat, 'another string'. but through a little bit of crying. she ended up with seven stitches, even though the gash was only about an inch long. dr. draker said he wanted to put more in to reduce scarring. she gets them out next week. it was scary when we were driving over because she almost fell asleep, it being her nap time and all, but more so because she hit her head. it's a good thing she can understand me when i tell her, dont go to sleep, open your eyes big. this was my first experience with an emergency with her, and it is so scary. when you have children, you just worry, and things can happen so fast, i was RIGHT THERE, and it still happened! all i keep seeing is her falling into that chair over and over again. it haunts me. but she is sound asleep, and i hope she rests well, because i know i wont. i'm going to be up checking on her constantly. i still check to see if she is breathing, even when she is perfectly fine, which is every night. you will find you will do that too, it's a mother thing, and your going to laugh and remember me saying that when you find yourself doing the same thing for years to come. boy, you might deliver before me, the rate your going. but dont get scared about her weight, i think usually they weigh more than they guess. so we both kinda got bumped up in our pregnancy, instead of april, i think we are both going in march!well, i'm going to try and go to bed, and check on my baby, talk to you soon!

sickasadog - Wednesday, 13 Feb
i had a feeling that is what they would say. man, it is weird how we are all having our separate issues now. i hope you do not have all those cramping pains and won't have to go back. if you do, i am glad that you now know so you can stop it.

expecting-pink2008 - Wednesday, 13 Feb

expecting-pink2008 - Tuesday, 12 Feb
When I was 33 weeks my baby was 4 pounds and 9 ounces good luck with everything hopefully you won't have to get them stopped because that is no fun at all!

zephyr - Tuesday, 12 Feb
Are your period cramps just period cramps (like the low warm indescribable uncomfortable sensation that you get with your period) or are they sharper cramps that you can 'count'? because I've been having the same thing all last night, but it's not sharp pains. It just feels like I'm going to start my period.

hglynn - Tuesday, 12 Feb
oh god, were they worried about it? did they see if you were dilated at all?

morgansmom - Tuesday, 12 Feb
Thanks for the update. I will keep my fingers crossed for you that you don't have any more. I have already decided that if I have them like that...I will go in because they are PAINFUL! Good Luck & keep me posted!

expecting-pink2008 - Tuesday, 12 Feb
congrats to you too they gave me 2 shots to stop the contractions when I had them and then my doctor later told me that because I had those shots it could cause me have to be induced so I would try to avoid going to the hospital for them unless they're unbearable. Good luck with everything!

sickasadog - Tuesday, 12 Feb
i'm with you on that. early is okay if the baby can come home with me. ha ha ha

sickasadog - Tuesday, 12 Feb
i am glad you have an appt tomorrow. hope it is not that the baby is already getting you dilated. :-)

sickasadog - Tuesday, 12 Feb
I remember you told me that. ha ha ha. must be nice to know that yours is coming. they think it is so cute that i don't know when it is. have you even heard of something like that? man, they are trippin for real. ha ha ha Are you feeling better?

sickasadog - Tuesday, 12 Feb
how are you? I am so frustrated that they still won't tell me when I am having my baby shower. They won't tell me. I am at the point where I don't want to be around people anymore. I also am ready to nest and need to start buying whatever I don't get. man, they need to hurry up. I am not last minute. ha ha ha

expecting-pink2008 - Tuesday, 12 Feb
When I was 32 weeks I started having bad period like cramps and they turned into contractions that happened about every 2 minutes so I went to the hospital and they told me it was false labor and if it happens again to drink a lot of water and lay on my left side hope this helps

charleys.angel.no1 - Monday, 11 Feb
