Rebekahs-mama - Friday, 14 November
Oh yeah, just watch it with those upper teeth. My goodness, when Bekah's lower teeth came in I didn't even realize they were there until she bit me! lol! But with the upper teeth she's spiked nasty fevers both times. I wonder why the difference?

Yes, I'm having the hardest time keeping Bekah from kicking my belly, too. She's the worst when she's up on her changing table and she can really get at it. I know she doesn't mean to do it but my goodness, it really hurts sometimes!

How adorable about Dina dancing to music! She must look so cute! And the singing on top of it must melt your heart!!!Bekah bobbles up and down a little bit when something she likes is on the radio but she doesn't do it much yet. Oh but I have to tell you, she took 3 steps on her own yesterday! She went from my SIL to me without even realizing she had done it with nothing to hang on to. She's been doing it off and on in this morning, too. I bet she'll be full-blown walking really soon! So exciting!

Yes, I say the same thing. On one hand I feel like this pregnancy has gone by so quickly. I'm going to have Noah here before I know it and then my time alone with Bekah will be no longer. It makes me feel a bit sad. On the other hand I feel so ready to be done with pregnancy for a while! My body is pretty tired after doing it for two solid years in a row! I know you understand me when I say that! lol!

Well anyhow, I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Do you have anything in particular planned? Nothing much going on here other than going out to lunch this afternoon with my hubby. That should be nice!

Rebekahs-mama - Tuesday, 11 November
Well I'm up bright and early today...as usual! lol! Of course yesterday was hubby's day off and Bekah slept in until a quarter to 8. That NEVER happens when I have to get up! lol!

Yes, I'm sure chasing after two little ones will be great exercize! I'm so looking forward to it! They say you should make exersize fun, right? Well I should say that works just fine. I'm also happy because we found a double stroller at a yard sale so I will be able to continue my daily walks when the weather is nice. It's crazy to think I'll be pushing around two babies!

Yes, Bekah popped her third tooth last Wednesday and her forth on Saturday. My goodness, she ran a high fever with the forth. It was up over 103 for much of the night before. She was not very happy. And she's got her 5th and 6th teeth coming in on either side of her top middle ones now. The poor girl isn't getting much of a break.

So how's Dina been? Anything new and exciting? I love hearing about what other babies are doing and the milestones they've hit.

And how have you been feeling? Are you doing well in your second trimester? I was exhausted and sick for my first, wonderful in my second and now in my third I'm just tired and achy much of the time. My body is ready for me to be done for a while, I think!

Rebekahs-mama - Monday, 10 November
Hehehe you're too funny! Yes, we do plan to have a couple more kids if God will allow it. But probably after 3 or 4 years. We don't want to wait too long, though, because at that point I'll be in my mid 30's and I know it's more risky and sometimes harder to get pregnant. Oh but I do plan to lose a lot of weight before the next round so hopefully that will make the pregnancies that much smoother. I had lost about 75 lbs before concieving Bekah and was only about halfway to my goal. I know, I was huge!!! lol! So as soon as this baby boy pops out and I'm all healed it's right back at the dieting and exercise for me!

Rebekahs-mama - Thursday, 6 November
I think it's fantastic that you're having another baby at 40! lol! Even if it wasn't a planned thing. I completely agree with you that it was planned by God whether you had any say or not! lol! My husband's boss just had her first and only baby last year at the age of 44. She and her husband were both told they were infertile and had been married for 20 years and she just randomly concieved! It was a true miracle and a wonderful blessing as they have changed their priorities to make their family first and have grown so much closer as husband and wife. I love watching them with thier son! It brings tears to my eyes!

It certainly seems like your baby is in good health so far. I'll continue to pray it's so. And it's going to be wonderful for Dina to have someone close in age to grow up with!!!

Well Bekah's demanding my attention by getting into things she shouldn't so I need to end. I hope you have a great day! xoxox Amanda

Rebekahs-mama - Monday, 3 November
Yes, I've officially weaned Bekah and my boobs have been killing me and leaking all over the place!!! LOL! Hopefully they'll chill out pretty soon! I've been doing well emotionally about it, though, thank God. I'm looking forward to tomorrow morning when my husband is finally not working and he can get up with her for the very first time ever! WOOHOO!

Yes, I agree with you about the time. If I just look at it day by day I feel like it drags but then all of a sudden it's the weekend again. Crazy! I'm sure you'll feel your little one very soon. I think I was about 15 weeks or so with both of mine but the kicks were so light that I could barely feel them until I was more like 20 weeks or so. Now Noah uses my insides as a punching bag! lol!

How cute about Dina doing her flying kisses and jabbering away like that! lol! That's what makes being a mom the best, isn't it? Bekah's been saying mama like crazy this week. She's definitely associating mama with me finally. But no other words just yet.

I'm sorry Dina's been sick. That's the worst! I hate using the nose sucker and constantly having to wipe the face. And so do they!!! Hopefully she'll be feeling better in the next day or two.

At your appointment do you have an ultrasound scheduled? If you do I bet they'll attempt to figure out the sex. How exciting!!! Hopefully this little one will cooperate for you. Thankfully both my kids spread their legs wide at just the right moment! lol! Do you have any suspicions of whether it's a boy or girl?

Well I'm off to be lazy and watch some TV with my hubby. I hope you have a great night! xoxox Amanda

Rebekahs-mama - Thursday, 30 October
Oh yes, this pregnancy has been so very very different because I've been so busy with Bekah. So I suppose it's probably the same way with you. Do you find the time going by rather quickly? It sounds like you must not have had too much nausea in your first trimester, which is nice. I had more this time and was thankful my husband was able to help me so much.

It sounds like Dina's definitely about to pop her top teeth, too. I just wish Bekah's would finally break through. It's been more than two weeks since this crazy drooling and pain started with her and they're still not through! But at least I can finally see the white near the surface.

So in the last couple days Bekah's taken two unassisted steps! I don't think she realized she did because if we try and coax her to do it she just sits down and crawls to us. Silly girl! I'm sure Dina won't be too far behind her!

I'm nursing Bekah for the last time tomorrow morning. It makes me very sad on one hand and very relieved on the other. Believe it or not she's never bitten me. I had fully prepared myself for that to happen once her teeth came in but it never did. Thank God! Anyways, my milk supply is getting very low and it's funny because Bekah has a really hard time even reaching my breasts around my huge belly now! So it's time. I honestly don't think she'll care less, which makes me happy.

Well anyhow, I'm glad to hear things are going well with you and your family. Take care and God bless! Amanda

Rebekahs-mama - Tuesday, 28 October
Hi! We're both doing great, thanks! Well, as great as Bekah can be when she's cutting 4 teeth at the same time! lol! Thank God for teething tablets and tylenol, right? She's not walking yet but is getting more and more bold about standing in place and squatting and twisting while on her feet. It's only a matter of time. As far as my pregnancy goes, I hit my 7th month, which is crazy to me. I have my next appointment on Monday and I believe I will be up to the point where I go every two weeks after that until my 36th week where I start going weekly. This boy is going to be here before I know it!!!

How's Dina doing and how are you feeling? Have you felt any flutters, yet? And do you notice whether you're carrying any differently this time? Does Dina have a cute costume for halloween?

Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

So Oct. 6th you'll finally get to see your new little person!! How exciting! I love going to my appointments, don't you? I always look forward to them even when they're just the quick boring ones. It's just nice to hear the heartbeat again. I know a lot of women have those home dopplers but I could never have one. I'd drive myself nuts looking for the heartbeat and if I couldn't find it I'd just freak out!

Rebekahs-mama - Wednesday, 24 September
Hehehe! How funny that your doc misspoke like that! So April 21...exactly 3 months after me to the day! How fun! My pregnancy is going very well. Just a few aches and pains here and there but nothing major. Noah is kicking more and more which is nice. I enjoy feeling him, especially at night when all is quiet in the house and I can really focus on him. He seems much more laid back than his big sis was in the womb. I think it's amazing how their personalities show through while still inside, don't you? So other than your scare of a due date, how did your appointment go? And how are you feeling? You must be getting close to the 2nd trimester already. WOOHOO!!!

Rebekahs-mama - Monday, 22 September
Yeah, I bet if she's eating enough of everything else she'll be just fine. Does her doctor have any suggestions on how else you can make sure she still gains enough weight? Maybe she's just going through a stage. From the time Bekah went to her 4 month check up to the time she went to her 6 month she had only gained 4 oz! But I noticed her picking up more chub now that she's eating more foods. Have you started Deena on meats/egg/cheese yet? The protein might help, too.

Bekah doesn't have a walker but she does have a new walk-behind toy that she can hang onto and take some steps. But she doesn't have enough control not to fall on her face, yet! She sure tries, though. But she's cruising along the furniture and starting to let go and stand in place. She's up and down just as much as Deena, I bet! It's so cute, don't you think?

Rebekahs-mama - Saturday, 20 September
Hey! How are you feeling? Sorry I didn't reply sooner! My goodness, what a busy week! And how's Deena? You said you weaned her, right? Does that mean you found a formula she's not allergic to? That would be wonderful!

Rebekahs-mama - Sunday, 7 September
I'm so glad you're feeling better. I am as well and it's wonderful to finally feel full of energy again. Bekah started crawling last week and now she's pulling up and cruising along the furniture. I think we're going to have a walker on our hands really soon. I'm relieved to be going through these early stages while still in my second trimester. That way I can be down on the floor playing with her and helping her feel better if she takes a major bump! lol! Is Dina crawling yet?

Yeah, I need to read my babyfood book as it tells me when I should be cutting back Bekah's nursing times. I'm not sure how long I'm supposed to keep nursing her 3 times a day. I'm hoping it switches to two times very soon and then I can cut out the midday formula feeding. It's just so expensive! I have a feeling she's not going to be nearly as stubborn as Dina, though. She likes all her babyfood so much more than her mama milk and formula!

Well, I certainly hope this new baby cooperates on Wednesday. I'm getting more and more excited as the day gets closer. I really want to know what we're having so I can officially call him or her by name. It must have been hard on you not to be sure about Dina being a girl!

Anyhow, I hope you're having a pleasant weekend. Take care of yourself and enjoy your week! Amanda

Rebekahs-mama - Thursday, 4 September
Oh yuck! I'm so sorry you're sick. I'm actually down and out with a pretty nasty cold myself. It really wears you down, doesn't it? Well hopefully we'll both be feeling better very soon.

So Dina was born only 1 day after her due date then. That's exciting! And you weren't even induced! It sounds like you must have had a pretty easy labor like I did. I was induced at 7 am and had Bekah by 1:30 pm. Not bad at all! I don't know about you but I'm praying for the same thing this time around! Did you tear at all? I tore a little but it was enough that I found the recovery time more annoying than the labor. I don't think things were normal down below for at least the 6 weeks following. So I'm not looking forward to that again...but yes, the pain is all soooooo worth it in the end!

I'm glad to hear you're still able to nurse Dina. It would be wonderful if your body is able to support both babies like mine has. I'll keep praying for you to get over the hump of the first trimester and then I'm sure you'll be fine. Are you planning to wean her at a year or do you think you'll go longer if you can? I'm just hoping to make it as long as I can...but I want Bekah fully weaned off my breast before the baby comes! I just can't fathom the idea of tandom nursing like some women do!

Anyhow, thanks for your note. I hope you feel better soon. Take care!

Rebekahs-mama - Sunday, 31 August
So Dina and Bekah are only a week and a day apart in age! How cool! Was she born close to her due date? Bekah was due on the 1st but I ended up being induced 3 days early. Oh, and I'm having the opposite problem as you now. I keep waking up in the morning to discover I've leaked mama milk all over my blankets. So gross, I know...but I'm so happy to not be worrying about it anymore. I really think if you can just get past for first trimester that your milk supply will go back up like mine did. That's what the Le Leche League says, too. And the dandilion root will help, too! I'm sorry Dina's so frustrated about your milk supply. That's got to make you feel terrible! Can you give her more foods during the day to help fill her up a bit more? Bekah's such a little piggy. She now eats 4 servings of babyfood per meal!

Rebekahs-mama - Thursday, 28 August
Hi Nadia! Oh it's really no problem at all! I'm just glad we have this great network of people to find each other like this. I love this site!

I bet if you add the dandilion root your milk supply will come back up and you won't have any trouble getting her to a year. My sister-in-law is actually the one who told me about it because she became pregnant with her son when her daughter turned 9 months old. Her milk supply dropped off so much at first but with the dandilion root she was able to nurse her daughter all the way until she was 13 months...and could have kept going but her daughter weaned herself. I think my milk supply is much higher then it was with my sister-in-law, though. It dropped a bit but since she was eating her solids, my milk seemed to be enough. We added one bottle of formula a day just to make sure...but I'm really not sure if she even needed it. I started the solids early as well...at 5 months old rather than the traditional 6. I can't believe she's 8 months old today! The time has flown!

Yes, there are days when I wake up and am SOOOO tired...like you said I feel like I could never get enough sleep. And I thank God Bekah's been sleeping through the night since she was really little. I think about the fact that there will be 2 babies in my house next year and sometimes I freak out! But I know it's all going to work out just fine...even if I have a few gray hairs in the end! lol!

Well, I think Bekah's ready for some lunch. I hope you have a great day! Amanda

Rebekahs-mama - Wednesday, 27 August
Hi! I'm so glad you contacted me. Congratulations on your pregnancy! Yes, I am still breastfeeding Rebekah. Before becoming pregnant again I had a long conversation with my doctor about whether I would be able to keep nursing. She said my body would be more than fine but I would have to be very careful about getting enough calories and water in my diet. But she warned that my milk supply would probably drop or even change in consistency at varying points in my pregnancy. I had a very hard time producing enough supply in my 2nd and 3rd months but it has come back up since then. I think you will probably have an easier time of it since your daughter is already 8 months old and is down to so few feedings a day. I have had to suppliment with one bottle for her lunch but the morning and evening feedings are still mama milk. I really think that if I had gotten pregnant a bit later, when my daughter was already eating solids, that my milk supply would have been adequate. When I became pregnant she was still only 3 1/2 months old, so mama milk was her only sustinance at that point.

I have heard from several people that taking a dandilion root suppliment is safe for both pregnancy and nursing. I asked my doctor about it and she said it would be just fine. It will help raise your milk supply if it is needed. I have thought long and hard about taking it but have decided that since I only have another 4 1/2 months until I start nursing the new baby that I will just slowly wean Bekah off the breast.

It's too bad your daughter has an allergy to formula. I bet that must make things a bit tougher right now. But with her solids she should get plenty. How have you been feeling? I've found this pregnancy to be a lot more tiring since I'm caring for a little one. But I'm so excited to have them close in age! And the second trimester has been much better.

Thanks for the compliments on Rebekah. Of course I agree, but I'm a little partial! lol! God bless you as well and please keep in touch! I'd love to follow along in your pregnancy! Take care! Amanda
