I am 39 years old and expecting my 4th child. It was a BIG SURPRISE to find out that I was pregnant. I was on the pill and didn't think that I was pregnant. Was not planning on having another, but I am very happy! I just feel that this baby was meant to be!!

I have been sooooooooo sick everyday with this one. I was sick with my daughter too, so maybe this one is a little girl! From the time I wake up until I go to sleep at night, I feel sick and am Very tired! I am hoping that this will pass soon!! With my daughter, I was sick for the first 4 months!! So if this is the same I still have 4 weeks to go until I start to feel better!! yuck!!!

I am scheduled to have a CVS test (chorionic Villus Sampling test) on October 15th because I am a high risk pregnancy. I have had high blood pressure before getting pregnant (it is normal now without meds!!) and my age makes me high risk. So, the doctor wants me to have this test to make sure all is good with the baby and to put my mind at ease. I am very nervous about having this test because it can cause a miscarriage but need to have it done so I can stop worrying. I have not yet told my children because I want to wait until after having this test and I know that the baby is going to be all right. If I ever lost the baby and had to tell them, that would be hard for them to understand. So, I am waiting and can't wait to tell them!! They will be sooooooo excited!!! :o)

~~~~~~~~October 18th~~~~~~~~~
Well, I went for my CVS test on Monday. It went well. I have to wait about a week to get the results. I got to see the baby on the ultrasound and he or she was VERY ACTIVE!! Didn't stop moving the whole time. Jumping up and down and waving hands all around!! SOOOOOOO CUTE!!!!! I can't wait to finally tell my children that I am pregnant!!! They will be sooooooo excited!!!!
Today begins 12 weeks for me and I am still feeling sick and very tired!!! Really hoping that this will end VERY, VERY SOON!!! Then I can start to enjoy being pregnant!! :o)
~~~~~~~~~OCTOBER 24, 2007~~~~~~~~~~

I finally got the results from my CVS Test. Everything is fine with the baby!!! :o)

It's a GIRL!!!!

Told my children last night and they were soooooooooo excited! My daughter was beyond excited! She wanted to tell everyone!! Today she took the picture of the ultrasound to school to show everyone. She is asking me soooo many questions about her new baby sister she will be having. She wants to know if and when we will be getting her ears pierced. Wants the baby to sleep in her room too. She drew up a room plan of where the crib could go!! I told her we have awhile before we need to be thinking about that stuff. She will be driving me crazy until our BABY GIRL makes her entrance. I am only going to be starting my 13th week. We have alot of time before she gets here. The boys said that they are NOT CHANGING DIAPERS!! They said that is Mommy's job!! I just hope that my sick feeling goes away soon so I can start to enjoy being pregnant. :o)

~~~~~~~~NOVEMBER 5th~~~~~~~~~~~
Well I am in my 14th week and still feeling sick. :o( It is not as bad as before but still here ALL DAY and NIGHT!!!! I just want to feel good!!!!! I keep hoping that everyday will be better but not yet. I HOPE SOOOOOOOOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o)
~~~~~~~~DECEMBER 5th~~~~~~~~~~~~

Can't believe I am 18 weeks already!!! Time is flying by!!! I am no longer sick and have been feeling GREAT!!!!! The baby is very active. We went for an ultrasound on Monday, Dec. 3rd and all is well with our baby girl. She now weighs 9 ounces! My husband and 3 children went to the ultrasound with me. The kids loved seeing the baby and listening to her heartbeat. It was GREAT!!!!!!! :o)

~~~~~~~~~JANUARY 7th 2008~~~~~~~~
I am now in week 23!!! Almost 6 Months already!!! I am feeling good. My blood pressure was up last appointment so my doctor put me on medication to keep it down. I was hoping that it would stay down so that I would not have to take any medicines for it. He also told me to take 1 Caltrate D pill a day to help keep the pressure down too. I have to go for an ultrasound every 2 weeks starting this Thursday, Jan. 10th. He wants to keep an eye on the baby to make sure she is growing on time and everything is good with her. Having high blood pressure can affect the baby too so I am glad to be able to see her every 2 weeks to make sure she is doing good! She is on the move ALL THE TIME!!!! She likes to get right under my belly button and kick~~OUCH!!!~~that hurts!!! Well, when I go for my ultrasound on Thursday I will let everyone know how big she is!!! :o)
~~~~~~~~JANUARY 11th~~~~~~~~~

Went for my ultrasound yesterday and the baby is doing GREAT!!!! She now weighs 1 1/2 lbs!!!! They said she has long legs like my other daughter!! It was great to get to see her!! Can't wait until the day I can finally hold her in my arms!

~~~~~~~~FEBRUARY 11th~~~~~~~~~
I am now 28 weeks and in my 3rd trimester!!! Time is flying by!! Went for an ultrasound on Thursday and Baby BRIANNA is doing GREAT!!!! She now weighs 2 lbs 9 ozs.!!!!! I go this week for my glucose test. Then in 2 more weeks I see the doctor to get the results of the test and check on the baby. Getting so close to the BIG DAY!!!!!!! :o)
~~~~~~~~~MARCH 11th~~~~~~~~

Can't believe that I am 32 weeks!!!!! It is going so quickly!!!! I have been going every week for a non-stress test at the hospital to monitor the baby because of my high blood pressure. Everything is fine with the baby. I had my glucose test and blood work and all is well. I went last week for an ultrasound and BABY BRIANNA now weighs 4 lbs. 4 ozs.! She is growing good. They have me going every 2 weeks for an ultrasound to check on her growth to make sure that my high blood pressure is not affecting her. So far, everything is just GREAT!!!!!!!! :o)

~~~~~~~~APRIL 7th~~~~~~~~~~
Went to the doctors on April 3rd and had an ultrasound. My little girl now weighs 6 lbs. 13 ozs. !!!! The doctor has decided that I should be induced because of my blood pressure. It has gone up a little but he said it will be better to induce me. The date for me to be induced will be Monday, April 14th!!!!! VERY SOON!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to hold my baby girl!!!!!!!
~~~~~~~APRIL 17TH~~~~~~~~

BRIANNA MARIE is finally here!!!!! She was born on Monday, April 14th at 5:32 pm. She weighed 7 lbs. 7 ozs and is 19" long. She has lots of black hair!!!! My other 3 children had NO HAIR!!!! I don't know where all hers came from!!! The delivery went great and I had no problems. I did have an epidural. The labor lasted about 8 hours. I only had to push for about 15 minutes. Not bad!!! She is a very good baby. Only crys when she is hungry. She takes about 2 ozs. of formula every 2 - 3 hours. My kids can't get enough of her!! They don't want to go to school!! It's great to finally hold her in my arms. :o)

You are so lucky! You get to see your angel in ten days!!! That's so exciting even though its for medical reason that your getting induced. I hope all is well and take care!

Whats really scary is just not knowing. Ive heard so many stories contradicting eachother that i think it just is unpredictable unless you've done it a few times (like yourself) and then you have a much better idea of how it might be for you.

michellelaughs - Tuesday, 25 Mar
i think its only available from netflix, Im not sure. Its really interesting. I had to have my mom n law order it since she gets netflix and I use blockbuster.

michellelaughs - Saturday, 22 Mar
Thanks for the message. I really am torn both ways re natural vs epi. Have you seen that 'business of birth' video from netflix?

princess06 - Thursday, 13 Mar
I'm from Honesdale. Will be delivering in Moss's Taylor. Just got back from touring there today. Its nice, I had my daughter at CMC. I loved it there! Baby weighs 5lbs. so might go sooner.

Thanks for your message about b/p, all the information was very helpful for me to read and better put my mind at ease. I did not have high b/p before pregnancy, but I did have high b/p in my 3rd trimester with my son (15 years ago) and my mom has high b/p, also I started this pregnancy 40lbs overweight, so that doesn't help either. I was really more concerned about the possibility of going on meds and the safety for the baby. We have our u/s in early march and it will be interesting to see the size of the baby as at 11 weeks he/she was growing a week ahead of schedule. Its nice to know that I'm not the only person facing hb/p

Thanks so much for the note! We are pretty much in the same boat, except you're a whole child ahead of me! You don't have to tell me where exactly but are you on the eastern side of PA or Western? I'm from north of Pittsburgh, born and raised through college. You are certainly getting close to the end - best of luck with everything. keep me posted!

mjeans - Monday, 25 Feb
Hi momof3...i see from one of your blog that you were/are on b/p medication during pregnancy. My doctor has told me my b/p has increased and although it is currently within normal limits 130/80 the increase has me worried...have you always had b/p during pregnancy or before it?

mamagarces - Wednesday, 20 Feb

wishing you a healthy, happy pregnancy, and baby! :)

Thank you for responding. I guess at this stage I am worrying about everything I feel. I am no longer feeling the tightening. Congratulations on your girl. Ours is a boy. My daughter really wanted a little sister, she cried when we found out it was a boy. She already has two brothers. I told her as long was the baby is healthy we need to be grateful no mater what. She is now very excited and can't wait until he's born.

good to know that I am not alone on the heartburn kick although I am not glad that you or other people also have it. I would not wish this heartburn pain on my worst enemy (well, maybe my worst)...I read your page...I am still trying to figure out how to configure mine...I just write myself comments so that I can post things on my page instead of how you are doing it...it looks great! Anyways, the good thing about having constant ultrasounds is that you get to see your baby all of the time! I would love that!!! I have had 2 ultrasounds...the first one to tell me how far along I was and the second one at 20 weeks to tell me the sex and to make sure everything is ok. We have to pay for a 3rd one if we want it (and we do) so we are going to get the 3d sonogram at around 32 weeks...can't wait for that! I am in total awe about how you already have children and are pregnant...with my symptoms I really enjoy sleeping :) and can't fathom having other kids to contend with while going through this...well I guess one day I will find out---have a nice day.

Hi there!
I am feeling pretty good...just waiting to find out my screening tests. Hope I hear something today or tomorrow. We opted out of the CVS, and I've been on the fence about the amnio. I think I've been in some form of denial. Over the weekend, we decided to get the amnio done. I'm going to call today to schedule it.

happyheidi - Thursday, 3 Jan
Thanks for the advice. I see you are in PA...what part?

kerriberri74 - Monday, 31 Dec

Hi! I was sick not to long ago and my dr. said I could take Sudafed and I did and it helped alot. I also called my PCP and he perscribed me and antibiotic. I would call your Dr and ask what you can take. Also they told me to drink plenty of Orange Juice too. Oh I see your from Pennsylvania. So am I. Where abouts are you in PA?

niseybear - Sunday, 16 Dec
Things are going well. Mo and I are breastfeeding and still working at it. I pumped for the first time tonight and got an ounce of milk. Wow. Hope that increases. I'm told that is normal and pumping just isn't the same as baby nursing. I'll keep working at it as I don't return to work til January 9th and hope to have it down by then. I'm sleeping well. Had a rough night with him Friday as he was up from 10:00pm-12:30am and I didn't know what to do to calm him. I had nursed him twice within an hour, changed his diaper and everything else I could think of. Didn't want to hold him as I was very sleepy and didn't want to fall asleep with him in my bed. Hubby finally woke up and got him down and Moshe was out for six hours!! I couldn't believe it! LOL Thank goodness for hubbies. My emotions are up and down but hopefully that will pass soon. Well, I should sleep now. It's 12am and I'm sure as soon as my head hits the pillow, my little man will be up for his snack. LOL Be blessed.

How are you doing?

momofboys - Thursday, 4 Oct
