Congratulations on your little girl! Don't be discouraged by your baby shower. It sounds like your MIL is trying to do what she thinks is best even if she is terribly mislead. Maybe she thinks you will be happy that she thought you were special enough to go overboard. My inlaws helped with my wedding and I have that same attitude- Less is more-but they wanted to get everything over the top. To them, they were blessing me. I guess what I am saying is that if her heart is in the right place, just laugh about the silly details. You will forget about those candy filled bottles anyway...also, you get to get lots of new fun stuff while you are your biggest and most uncomfortable! Sure you would have liked it sooner but at least you will have something to get your mind off of how fat and hot you feel! I hope this is encouraging...I have definitely dealt with difficult inlaws before! Good luck!

It would seem the baby is already nore than 7 lbs. I am worried about this induction business - wish I knew what to do. Had a u/s three weeks ago and since then I have been averaging 5 pounds a week (and I don't pig out/it's likely more water retention, been having this since month 5)I get the feeling it's my swelling and BP that worry him more than the baby's size and he may not want to worry me until next week. He will not induce before week 38. You've had 3 - how was it for you? It's been 12 yrs since my last birth!

I have LITERALLY no food in my house again!! this sucks... I have the money for it, but no ride, so I ate a can of tuna and applesauce... I also made rice, but I suck at making rice it ALWAYS COMES OUT SOGGY!!!... I have learned NOT to go grocery shopping on an empty stomach because I buy the fattiest things and bready things... also I love to make lists for everything so I make one for groceries! Do u have ur bags packed yet for the hospital? I packed me and Michael's last night, so I'm just wanting him already, but then everytime I have contractions for a while I get scared I'm going to go into labor, not really excited... I want him here and everything, but I just get scared about a c'section... as for feeling him on my hip bones... no... I feel like my hips are being stretched and pushed forcefully apart.. not fun really, but my Midwife told me today that i haven't even dropped yet.... I think that's funny because everytime I go out of the house now so many people ask me "girl or boy"... "how much longer"... and "wow girl, ur gonna' give birth any minute, he's so low!!"... I'm thinking gravity has just pulled my once high up baby down... lol...

I'm watching Dawn of the Dead... damn, I hope my baby doesn't gain 1/2 lb. per week. their saying if they think he's going to be over a 9 pounds then they'll just schedule a c'section... I think I have HUGE hips, so I don't know why...... pooooo.... please stay little baby???? My back doesn't hurt that bad anymore, just my hips mosly now and inner thighs... I am so damn hungry!!!!

Hey, just got back from the dr.'s and things are going pretty good... I lost 2 pounds since last week!, I have really good blood pressure, negative for strep B, no sugar or protein in urine but my Iron levels are lower then ever so now I have to take 2 iron pills a day and my prenatal vitamin... man my stomach is gonna' be so messed up... the babyboy is doing well (rememebr last week he measured at 41) this week he measured at about 38 1/2, so only 2 weeks ahead, so that is helping me feel better... also no internal.... THe midwife said she thinks he's probably 7 pounds as of right now and that I can be induced at 39 weeks, so hopefully I he will only gain 1/4 pound a week from now on and only be 8 pounds at the biggest in a little over 2 weeks... This appointment put me at ease... So I have my u/s on Monday the 14th... hopefully I'll get good news about his size and chest size as well ( GD babies sometimes their chest are bigger then their heads at birth, it eventually evens out, but it makes it harder to deliver vaginally).... so for ur last u/s how long was it??? 20 mins or less??? Stripping the membranes is where the doctor scratches the bag of waters a bit with his finger during your internal exam. Sometimes that small amount of stimulation can bring labor on. I had my membranes stripped 5 days before I went into labor with my son.

hiya read your post on sweeping membranes i had it done at 37/38 weeks and 2 1/2 days later i went into labour it doesnt hurt when there doing it it just feels like a longer vaginal examination exsept they move there fingers in a circular movement it hurts afterwards though coz u get pms cramps well it feel like them you know if it has worked because the rest of your plug comes out full of blood sorry if its a bit tmi good luck anyways are u havin it done? x

Hey, that's good ur baby is doing well, and of course still a little lady baby... I wonder about mine sometimes, but the pictures from the 20 week u/s is pretty clear manly part... anyways, how long did ur u/s/ last? Big headed baby huh??? did they say how big her little head is? I'm pretty sure my babe has a large skull too, pooo.... So I YouTube'd some childbirth videos and I made sure only watch the uncomplicated ones so I could say to myself "I can handle that"... then I made the horrible mistake of looking at an epesiotomy video... wow..... wish I hadn't done that.. it makes me so scared I want to pee myself... I am opting to tear if it will only be slightly rather then an epesiotomy, it just seems more natural... ya know??? anyways I have an appt. tomorrow morning with my MIDWIFE!! (not the dr. I saw last week that scared me and didn't know what the hell she was doing)... so hopefully the babe will be measuring on target or closer to target then last time, and I hope I get an internal because I was having contractions/ braxton hicks every 20 minutes or so for about 3 hours last night... only a few tonight.. so we'll see.. alright lady, I know ur about to pop already, but it'll all be over soon for you!

Ohhh... make sure you post pics of ur little girl!! also let me know how much she's weighing around now!! that's exciting to have u/s... Well, I have my next appt on Wednesday and a u/s in one week from today, so we'll see... my dr. will only do an internal exam if i tell her i'm having lots of discomforts/contractions and pressure (which I've been recently), so maybe if u tell that to ur doc tomorrow she'll check you... Man, I spent today with Sam and I was having contractions (when we were having sex)... is that normal? Isn't it supposed to be more afterwards??? anywyas, he's leaving on Wednesday for a week, and hopefully I'll have the baby soon after he comes back on the 16th... we'll see.... He asked me today "why do so many pregnant women get impatient?"... I always wondered that too when I wasn't pregnant, but now I know so I told him " because, at 36 or 37 weeks, I've been carrying this little person and making him and now he's so big he's making me uncomfortable and I just want to meet him already... 9 months is a long time to see someone every day but not SEE them...".... well, I'm a little emotional right now, I had a talk with Sam about a future ( if any) that we could have... I asked him if marriage was even an option, he told me a very nice "no"... I know that I fucked up a lot in the beginning and It's okay with me I guess... I won't love him as much in a year as I do today.. I just gotta' train myself I guess... we're not mad at eachother and I'm not upset with him or crying or anything, but it's just something that is what it is.... Well, keep in touch with me lady and I hope u get lots of pics of ur baby girl tomorrow!!

Thanks for the message about the shower! I agree, each baby can be special and deserves some pictures of how we celebrated his/her life before being born in the baby book! Awww I just saw your boys names...really cute, I love them. I have a Luc too, unfortunatly mine lives in heaven...but that is ok. I have been blessed with all my babies. I made the tshirt on my computer with an iron on transfer, it was really easy. Thanks for commenting on my pictures, I have probably overdone it but I love it.
