It's A BOY!!!!!! 11-16-07

We had our ultrasound today. Our little man was showing himself quite obviously. We asked the technition if he was sure and his exact words were "oh ya, I'd bet my house and kids on it!" So, guess we will have to come up with a boy name now :-) Also, As I have thought all along, they moved my due date from the 13th of April to the 9th. I estimated around the 8th from the first ultrasound....I knew the ultrasound couldn't be 2 weeks off so I figured if I gave a week of conception time...It would be around the 8th. I knew I know my body better than they did :-)

Well, I posted my story once but it got deleted a while back. So here it is again. After struggeling for a year to get pregnant with our first daughter and two years and fertility treatment for our second daughter, we decided no more treatments and figured we had completed our family. We took in my 6 month old neice for a few months for my sister and bought a perfect little two bedroom cottage in the country to raise our girls. A month after buying our house, and one month before my neice turned a year old, my sister decided she wanted her back. I was devistated. God had a plan though. Within a week I discovered I was pregnant again. It was a tough pregnancy but we were so excited. We were even more excited when we learned we were finally getting a son. He was born the spring of 05 and is now 2 1/2. He's such a wonderful joy. Before he was born we decided our family was complete and my husband went in for a vasectomy. When the procedure was being performed the dr was unable to complete the second side. There was scar tissue and he could not find the tube to snip. He advised my hubby to come back for his 3 month check to be sure but he didn't think that side had ever worked which made sence due to our fertility issues. He told us if that side did turn out to work he would schedule surgery in the hospital. That did not sit well with my husband and he never went back.

Our little cottage began to get a little cramped but nothing we couldn't handle. This summer my husbands cousin had her children taken away. One of them needed a home. She's an adorable little girl the same age as our son so we decided she'd make a great addition to our family and took her in. We are hoping to adopt her next summer. Well, a month to the day after she came to live with us, we got the suprise of our lives....WE ARE PREGNANT AGAIN! We were floored! Needless to say my husband WILL be going in for surgery. We love our location and do not want to move so are sitting tight in every sence of the word untill we can knock down and build on our property.

Although this was a huge suprise that took the past couple of months to adjust to, I am now getting very excited to have a new little addition to our family. Maybe my poor littel sister surrounded son will get a brother. We are hoping to find out Nov. 16th. I will update as soon as we know.

Wow, Our little Sammy is almost 2 months old and we are begining the adoption process for Maddie. I can not believe how much our life has changed from just one year ago! One year ago I was thinking that my life was getting a little bit dull, I had three very well behaved children and was wondering how I could get just one more without having to be pregnant. God instead blessed me with two children! I did have to be pregnant but after the initial shock, it was a pretty easy pregnancy in comparison to the other ones and Sam is a wonderful joy! He's a bit spoiled and likes his attention but is a pretty easy going little guy now that we have the feeding and stuff figured out. For a while it looked as though Maddies dad may re gain custody and that we could lose her but both parents rights have now been terminated and we are on the path to making her ours. As each month passes we are realizing just how much damage was done to her due to the neglect but have her in therapy and are progressing slowly. Live never seems to slow down with 5 very young children in the house. Our 8 year old is a huge help. I don't know what I would do without her. I am anxiouse for them to all be her age and begin doing less care taking and more enjoying and interacting with them. I feel like all I do is prepare food, wipe bottoms, pull little ones out of places they aren't supposed to be in and break up arguments between the bigger ones. I can't wait for the day we can all load up and take a trip to the beach without having to pack 20 changes of clothes and to just be able to say "eveyrone get in the car" and not have to take 20 min to put shoes and socks on them and stop to nurse and take potty breaks eveyr ten minutes becasue 3 year olds have bladders the size of apple seeds. I love to see them hold hands as we walk thru the zoo, or see the big girls reading stories to the little ones. Wow, I just can't get over how full my life has gotten in such a very short time!!!!

That is neat that you went half on everything with a friend. I know I was lucky enough that my husbands cousin had just had a little girl a year before we had Kyndal so we got all of her old stuff! We only had to get the crib, car seat and stroller. So I was very lucky as well! At what age did you put your son in the Jumperoo?

Good luck on your journey with ADHD. It's so hard to watch your children struggle with it. Jake really had some hard times with it and what they say is totally true. They do in fact mature a lot more slowly which at times is another hardship.

That pic of Sam is priceless. Isn't it awesome that are little ones are making so many facial expressions now? We ended up getting the Rainforest jumperoo for Brinn and she is just trying to take it all in. When Brinn looks up at the little blue frog/gecko thingy she cries. Strange, huh?

I was thinking that when my oldest (shes 4) was 6 months old that was when I had started giving her cereal but it seems as if they have switched time frames on me and im lost now. My pediatrician also said start offering now but shes not interested, I suppose Ill keep up the consistancy til she gets it. Im up with her right now trying the cry it method (not feeding her) two hours later shes asleep. FINALLY lol.

Hi :0) Remember me?? I've been off here for awhile, it's busy with the new one :0) I was wondering if you have a myspace page-- I usually keep up with that one better than this one. If you do and want to find me on there, my URL thingy is: www.myspace.com/calloways

Your little monkey is getting so big too :0) it happens so fast huh?? I can't believe how fast they grow. Kinda sad, cuz this is the last one ;0( boo hoooo. ANyway, just wanted to stop by and say hello, and if you have a myspace page, add me and we can catch up!

Thanks for the reply. I dont think I will feed her anymore as im sure thats why shes waking up now. She doesnt seem interested in solid foods, do you have any advice about that? Thanks!

We have been doing cereal for about a month and I bought the other foods to try but haven't tackled that yet. Since he technically was suppose to just start cereal, I thought I should wait. Thoughts? I still feed Cole in the bouncy seat b/c it puts him right on the same level with me. I think I will set up the high chair this weekend and give that a shot.

Cole doesn't spit up everything, I can't imagine the frustration they must feel! He goes for his 4 month check up this Sat so we shall see what the doc says then! It just seems like he just stopped another bottle a couple weeks ago and now this. I probably need to relax and follow his lead, right? :) Is your little guy taking cereal or anything else yet?

Thanks for the response. The jumperoo received great reviews, but I feel more confident in what the mommys from this site have to say. That is too cute that Sam can recognize his "friends". We have the rainforest tub so hopefully Brinn will see some familiar faces too

Such an adorable pic of your little guy in the jumperoo. I was thinking about buying the same one for my daughter and wanted to know how your little one liked his?

Got yr message about the formula...did yr friend's son spit everything up or just normal amounts? He seems happy, not as if he is in pain or anything...Interesting..

kbpc3949 - Tuesday, 22 July
I just read your story, what a great person you are taking in yr family's children. I think that takes a special person to take on such a great responsibility. Kudos to you!

Hey, I wonder if you gave give me your thoughts on the jumperoo? We have the same one but it has yet to come out of the box. We have an exersauser too and I wonder if we need both. My sitter swears by both but I wanted another opinion. Thx.

I want to thank everyone for the birthday wishes! To all my ladies that sent the e cards, after I was done laughing it brought a tear to my eye!!! Hugs to all!

Maddux - Friday, 18 July
I think maybe her stomach just wasn't ready for it but I kind of disagree with the waiting until 6 months thing too. My pediatrician told me at her 4 month appointment to go ahead and introduce solids so she obviously didn't have any concerns about it. The weird thing is I tried baby oatmeal cereal today and she did great with it and chowed down on it. So, I don't know if its that she isn't ready for solids or the rice cereal just upset her stomach. I know it certainly broke my heart though watching her in pain :(
