It's A BOY!!!!!! 11-16-07

We had our ultrasound today. Our little man was showing himself quite obviously. We asked the technition if he was sure and his exact words were "oh ya, I'd bet my house and kids on it!" So, guess we will have to come up with a boy name now :-) Also, As I have thought all along, they moved my due date from the 13th of April to the 9th. I estimated around the 8th from the first ultrasound....I knew the ultrasound couldn't be 2 weeks off so I figured if I gave a week of conception time...It would be around the 8th. I knew I know my body better than they did :-)

Well, I posted my story once but it got deleted a while back. So here it is again. After struggeling for a year to get pregnant with our first daughter and two years and fertility treatment for our second daughter, we decided no more treatments and figured we had completed our family. We took in my 6 month old neice for a few months for my sister and bought a perfect little two bedroom cottage in the country to raise our girls. A month after buying our house, and one month before my neice turned a year old, my sister decided she wanted her back. I was devistated. God had a plan though. Within a week I discovered I was pregnant again. It was a tough pregnancy but we were so excited. We were even more excited when we learned we were finally getting a son. He was born the spring of 05 and is now 2 1/2. He's such a wonderful joy. Before he was born we decided our family was complete and my husband went in for a vasectomy. When the procedure was being performed the dr was unable to complete the second side. There was scar tissue and he could not find the tube to snip. He advised my hubby to come back for his 3 month check to be sure but he didn't think that side had ever worked which made sence due to our fertility issues. He told us if that side did turn out to work he would schedule surgery in the hospital. That did not sit well with my husband and he never went back.

Our little cottage began to get a little cramped but nothing we couldn't handle. This summer my husbands cousin had her children taken away. One of them needed a home. She's an adorable little girl the same age as our son so we decided she'd make a great addition to our family and took her in. We are hoping to adopt her next summer. Well, a month to the day after she came to live with us, we got the suprise of our lives....WE ARE PREGNANT AGAIN! We were floored! Needless to say my husband WILL be going in for surgery. We love our location and do not want to move so are sitting tight in every sence of the word untill we can knock down and build on our property.

Although this was a huge suprise that took the past couple of months to adjust to, I am now getting very excited to have a new little addition to our family. Maybe my poor littel sister surrounded son will get a brother. We are hoping to find out Nov. 16th. I will update as soon as we know.

Wow, Our little Sammy is almost 2 months old and we are begining the adoption process for Maddie. I can not believe how much our life has changed from just one year ago! One year ago I was thinking that my life was getting a little bit dull, I had three very well behaved children and was wondering how I could get just one more without having to be pregnant. God instead blessed me with two children! I did have to be pregnant but after the initial shock, it was a pretty easy pregnancy in comparison to the other ones and Sam is a wonderful joy! He's a bit spoiled and likes his attention but is a pretty easy going little guy now that we have the feeding and stuff figured out. For a while it looked as though Maddies dad may re gain custody and that we could lose her but both parents rights have now been terminated and we are on the path to making her ours. As each month passes we are realizing just how much damage was done to her due to the neglect but have her in therapy and are progressing slowly. Live never seems to slow down with 5 very young children in the house. Our 8 year old is a huge help. I don't know what I would do without her. I am anxiouse for them to all be her age and begin doing less care taking and more enjoying and interacting with them. I feel like all I do is prepare food, wipe bottoms, pull little ones out of places they aren't supposed to be in and break up arguments between the bigger ones. I can't wait for the day we can all load up and take a trip to the beach without having to pack 20 changes of clothes and to just be able to say "eveyrone get in the car" and not have to take 20 min to put shoes and socks on them and stop to nurse and take potty breaks eveyr ten minutes becasue 3 year olds have bladders the size of apple seeds. I love to see them hold hands as we walk thru the zoo, or see the big girls reading stories to the little ones. Wow, I just can't get over how full my life has gotten in such a very short time!!!!

Oh i am so sorry he still isn't feel good! That is terrible and does seem like a very long recovery period. I guess it is normal though. Oh and knew what you meant about the tylenol/motrin. Josh (my 3 yr old) use to have terrible ear infections and high fevers. We use to have to alternate giving tylenol/motrin. Every 2 hours just to keep the fever down. I hope he feels better soon!

Yeah ours are like that. We made our own pattern and it took months! We will be selling them soon. Can I ask how much she pays for them? Here is the link to our store that will carry them soon. http://hyenacart.com/onestore.php?vid=1853&category=17

Wow, reading really is good this early. I am glad I started now! I have a book that has the sounds on it and he just loves it. I think I am going to pick up a few more sound books and bright books because they keep his attention thru the whole book. Thank you for messaging me about it, do you have any other things you do as a routine. I always like to know anything that will help my son in the future. Thank you! ~Kelli

Sounds like you have your hands full too. Your lucky he's helpful with the house, my husbands the same why with my kids, as long as their happy, but I clean the messes or not..LOL

I guess like you said its just a phase that I need to go though they will grow up. I also lost my mother 12 days after I had the twins so I'm still dealing with those emotions. She was telling my family that I was having two to keep me busy, and I believe it, I don't know what I would be like if I didn't have theses babies. My husband is really not as much help with like the house as I'd like him to be, he gets home from work and doesn't want to do anything, and I tell him how do you think I feel and I still have to be up all night, so lately we're just butting heads.

I couldn't agree more, they are addicting. I always get sad when I think about never having another newborn but I"M TIRED!! Oh well. I have to be careful what I say though. Every time I say I'm done, that's it, no more. Bam, I'm pregnant again. :)

i just read your comment on the 32 mo and up page. My son had his adnoids out a month after i had my baby. It was very stressful for me (and him a little bit) but he did great. The surgery was quick and so was the recovery. I have heard that tonsils take longer to recoup from but it still isn't terrible. Good Luck! I am sure it will be ok! The end result will be well worth the surgery. At least in our expirence!

CRAZYEIGHTS - Monday, 16 June
I feel terrible. I wasn't questioning your mommy abilities. I promise. Your story was really cute. It just sparked my memory of what happened. to my brothers friend. I meant well, I really did.

Hi I am going through the same thing this is our 3ed my first sleep with us and took a long time for her to sleep in her own room. I love having them next to me but am trying to get her to sleep on her own. I bought a movement monitor. My husband says "you didnt have it for the other 2". I dont think I could go on if something ever happened to my little baby!!!!!! Good luck it's so hard, they say in the books to give it up before 16 weeks and they dont remember. Even with the movement monitor she is still in my room next to me.xoxoxoxo take care.

Thanks for your reply. I think I will request an iron level check. I wish my OB-GYN would have offered one without me asking!

munkobaby - Friday, 13 June
Look at that sweet smile! Isn't it just amazing. I never get tired of it. It makes me want to have one more.... even my hubby wants another - we shall see. I have moments of pure crazy madness around here with the little ones. How are you doing with all your kiddies? It's a hard job isn't it? Keep me posted on how the adoption is boing. I think that is simply wonderful. xoxoj

sickasadog - Wednesday, 11 June
yes, it will be nice to have a child that sleeps through sickness rather than cry through them as long as you have already been alerted to their ailment; if you know what I mean. :-) I think this one is going to be the worst acting one of the 3 when it comes to shots.

shinobissudhi - Wednesday, 11 June
my 7 y/o had her tonsils and adnoids taken out in dec their only sedated fot like 25 mins.. it is frustrating and heartbreaking to see them after the sedation go away they get confused and start to feel the pain. just remember be paitent push the pain meds and fluids..lots of rest and hugs and kisses good luck

LOVE the phot - omg-he's sooooo cute, what a big smile! AWWHHH!
Thanks for the compliment about Abby-I've actually been thinking about entering her, but don't really know where to go.

Hi! i have the complete rainforest set too. Addison freaks out if the toy bars are on the bouncy seat, on the swing or on her playpen/bassinet. The floor mat isn't as bad. She doesn't like the vibrating either. Kids are finicky!

sickasadog - Tuesday, 10 June
I am up in the middle of the night and saw your post. My son did not sleep much with this shot, but my daughter slept quite awhile when she got her shots and also slept through feedings, but she was fine. If he is back to normal and feeding well, he should be okay.

srm31 - Tuesday, 10 June
Thanks for your comment. I think I was having a hard morning. I get like that every now and then....real hard on myself. Most of the time this baby has been easier. I enjoy her , dont stress when she cries , things have been great but the bottle thing and the immunizations have thrown me for a loop. I didnt bottle feed my other daughter so it has been literally 15 yrs since I have bottle fed and when I did back then ignorance was bliss ! I have been hard on myself at times but I am so blessed with this sweet little baby who just fits into our lives perfectly as if she were always here and I think I need to just focus on that when I get in these moods. Thanks again for listening.

Hello! I just just browsing and I saw your question on the 32 months and older page about your child getting his tonsils and adnoids taken out. My daughter hasn't had that surgery but my sister has 4 kids and 2 of them have had that surgery. They had it done because of their hearing and speech development and they also had tubes put in their ears. Their surgeries went well and the children are fine. So I think it's in the rules that a mother has to worry, but as you said, it is pretty routine and I'm sure everything will turn out great. Good luck to you and your kiddo and I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya :)

I think a few premie outfits would be good... My son was 6lb 11 1/2 oz. and 19 inches long and he wore premie stuff for like almost 2-3 weeks ! it took forever to get him in newborn size clothes...And now that he is 3 months he is growing out of everything i buy

MommyJewels - Tuesday, 3 June
You are one amazing woman. I love that you left the kiddos with your hubby and showed him what it is like. Sorry about the purple crayon though. I think they say that if you have ONE child the average salary equv would be $116,000 dollars a year. I can't imagine how much YOU should be paid!

startingoverat37 - Tuesday, 3 June
How is your son doing? I remember when my son was 2 getting his tonsils/ adnoids removed and tubes placed in his ears. It was a quick process and they rebound so fast.

I think us girls from the northwest either must like the teaser sunshine or we are just NUTS!

Summer will give your house being so packed a break.

Sierra is absolutely bounced back from her car accident...kids are so resilent. I feel relieved that she was not hurt worse.

My Mom fell at work on Sunday so she is in the hospital. I have been with her most of the day for the past few days. No broken bones but suspecting some ripping of muscles. The MRI should tell us what is going on. Waiting on the results. Her right side is so bad she can not get up to go to the bathroom with out a couple people carrying her there. Its harsh. She will not be released until she can get to the bathroom on her own.

I hope you are well...
