It's A BOY!!!!!! 11-16-07

We had our ultrasound today. Our little man was showing himself quite obviously. We asked the technition if he was sure and his exact words were "oh ya, I'd bet my house and kids on it!" So, guess we will have to come up with a boy name now :-) Also, As I have thought all along, they moved my due date from the 13th of April to the 9th. I estimated around the 8th from the first ultrasound....I knew the ultrasound couldn't be 2 weeks off so I figured if I gave a week of conception time...It would be around the 8th. I knew I know my body better than they did :-)

Well, I posted my story once but it got deleted a while back. So here it is again. After struggeling for a year to get pregnant with our first daughter and two years and fertility treatment for our second daughter, we decided no more treatments and figured we had completed our family. We took in my 6 month old neice for a few months for my sister and bought a perfect little two bedroom cottage in the country to raise our girls. A month after buying our house, and one month before my neice turned a year old, my sister decided she wanted her back. I was devistated. God had a plan though. Within a week I discovered I was pregnant again. It was a tough pregnancy but we were so excited. We were even more excited when we learned we were finally getting a son. He was born the spring of 05 and is now 2 1/2. He's such a wonderful joy. Before he was born we decided our family was complete and my husband went in for a vasectomy. When the procedure was being performed the dr was unable to complete the second side. There was scar tissue and he could not find the tube to snip. He advised my hubby to come back for his 3 month check to be sure but he didn't think that side had ever worked which made sence due to our fertility issues. He told us if that side did turn out to work he would schedule surgery in the hospital. That did not sit well with my husband and he never went back.

Our little cottage began to get a little cramped but nothing we couldn't handle. This summer my husbands cousin had her children taken away. One of them needed a home. She's an adorable little girl the same age as our son so we decided she'd make a great addition to our family and took her in. We are hoping to adopt her next summer. Well, a month to the day after she came to live with us, we got the suprise of our lives....WE ARE PREGNANT AGAIN! We were floored! Needless to say my husband WILL be going in for surgery. We love our location and do not want to move so are sitting tight in every sence of the word untill we can knock down and build on our property.

Although this was a huge suprise that took the past couple of months to adjust to, I am now getting very excited to have a new little addition to our family. Maybe my poor littel sister surrounded son will get a brother. We are hoping to find out Nov. 16th. I will update as soon as we know.

Wow, Our little Sammy is almost 2 months old and we are begining the adoption process for Maddie. I can not believe how much our life has changed from just one year ago! One year ago I was thinking that my life was getting a little bit dull, I had three very well behaved children and was wondering how I could get just one more without having to be pregnant. God instead blessed me with two children! I did have to be pregnant but after the initial shock, it was a pretty easy pregnancy in comparison to the other ones and Sam is a wonderful joy! He's a bit spoiled and likes his attention but is a pretty easy going little guy now that we have the feeding and stuff figured out. For a while it looked as though Maddies dad may re gain custody and that we could lose her but both parents rights have now been terminated and we are on the path to making her ours. As each month passes we are realizing just how much damage was done to her due to the neglect but have her in therapy and are progressing slowly. Live never seems to slow down with 5 very young children in the house. Our 8 year old is a huge help. I don't know what I would do without her. I am anxiouse for them to all be her age and begin doing less care taking and more enjoying and interacting with them. I feel like all I do is prepare food, wipe bottoms, pull little ones out of places they aren't supposed to be in and break up arguments between the bigger ones. I can't wait for the day we can all load up and take a trip to the beach without having to pack 20 changes of clothes and to just be able to say "eveyrone get in the car" and not have to take 20 min to put shoes and socks on them and stop to nurse and take potty breaks eveyr ten minutes becasue 3 year olds have bladders the size of apple seeds. I love to see them hold hands as we walk thru the zoo, or see the big girls reading stories to the little ones. Wow, I just can't get over how full my life has gotten in such a very short time!!!!

I hope this short message finds you well. I am sorry that I have been unable to respond more frequently this past week. I am frantically trying to get this big family of mine ready for a road trip. We will be on vacation starting tomorrow thru the 15th. I promise to get right back to people once we have unpacked the family van. Love you all. xoxoj

thanks for the encouragement, i find it hard to be sexy sometimes too. I just went and bought some new shoes at Target and some cute accessories to spice up my casual clothes (all on sale!! i mean i got some cute shoes for 4$), so that's helping some, and of course the quicker i get in shape the better i'll be :) lol. have fun getting your nose pierced!

Hi there. I am doing fine, still here at my parents house. I am hanging in there ( I still get lonely from time to time) but all is well other than that. Matthew has also rolled over a couple times, hes a big boy so I think it's harder for him, he's great though, I love my boys so much.

Thanks! Ha-ha...I do too! She's got so many rolls! I love them (lol)

He kept us up all night long rolling over. He'd go back to sleep, roll over, get caught in the crib and cry. I am so tired. We went to his 4 month appointment today and the doctor said there is not much we can do until he learns to get himself back. Very interesting that Sam sleeps on his tummy and does his flipping to his back and gets upset. Jacob starts on his back and flips to his stomach, so I guess they just learn one way in the beginning no matter where they start out. When he recovers from his shots, I'm going to really work with him on learning to roll back because last night was ridiculous.

moherhood is definitely something no one can truly prepare me for cause every experience is different cause every child is different. Seems like the stages/phases that a child goes through are common but the actual experience is totally different. My mom had 7 of us and she swears that she did the same thing for all of us and it went well - which explains why we all go issues. Not to mention the youngest is 19 so I'm convinced my mom actually forgot (20 yrs later) and just doesn't want to admit it. But when you're dealing with a new DNA you really don't know what to expect. Eitherway, I'm hanging in there, Jordan's hanging in there, and my husband is lost!lol..

Hey girlie,
How are things going? By the photos, I'm gonna say "Great". It's been a while since we chatted - or should I say "since you had me laughing til I cried" Your new addition is adorable as is all of your children. You look great. I've been so busy adjusting to this motherhood thing. I'd say I got a B+ on my motherhood report card. I haven't mastered it yet but I'm getting there.I can't seem to stop producing breastmilk - I can't tell if something aint right or if I'm just impatient..

Thanks so much for the reply. I was just getting ready to ask again cause today Lucas has been asleep for like 5 hours since 8 this morning...maybe just a late growt spurt...??
