Oct 8th 2008

I gave birth early on Sept 22nd! I went into labor at home on Sunday the 21st. I went to the restroom and saw bright red blood. I had been having a few braxton hicks contraction, but nothing painful. I called the hospital and they told me to come on in. When I got there I was still 2 cm dialated and then 1 hour later I was 4 cm dialted and 90% thinned out. They would not let me go home because the labor was moving to fast, and I was having VBAC vaginal birth after c-section. This lasted all day sunday and then I had him Monday morning at 9:50 a.m. vaginal deliverey and only 20 min of pushing. He was barely 36 weeks and weighed 5lb 13 oz! I am now working on breastfeeding and loving this new little addition!!!

Friday, 7 Mar

I have two wonderful children. Nicole who is eight years old, and TY he is 14 months. I was suprised to see I was pregnant with third. I am very excited although I will have my hands full with two so close in age! With my first I had vaginal delivery with my second I had emergency c-section. My doctor is going to allow me to have a VBAC (vaginal birth after c-section). The only catch is I have to be in labor by my due date. I was very surprise to find out we are having a boy!! I felt like it was going to be a girl. We can't wait for our little man to get here!

I am having a bad day with MS and being lathargic, but tomorrow has to be better, thank you for asking! Did you save any of your maternity clothes? I got rid of most of mine, so I will have to go shopping soon.... haha.

kamo - Friday, 21 Mar
Yes, I have a strong feeling it's a girl. First off-- it's a leap year and mostly girls are being born; last leap year were boys. Second-- I am craving or preferring sweets. With my son, I wanted meat, meat, meat. Now it's chocolate cake, chocolate candy, or any chocolate! LOL

Thank you for the advice, it's nice to have someone to talk to about it! My husband says to do whatever I want, so it's nice to have an outside opinion, thanks!

Wow, that's incredible! You've been through so much- how's your son now, if you don't mind my asking?

JennReedy - Wednesday, 19 Mar
Thanks for the comment. It's still hard, though. I have a really deep faith, and I feel like this is a test sometimes.

I just wanted to say thanks again about you offering help and advice on diabetes when pregnant. I went for my first visit at the Maternal/Fetal doc yesterday. They started me on insulin. Long acting in the morning and at night. Short acting at dinner and with morning shot. Also, I may need short acting at meals. I gave myself my first shot last night and it was not as bad as I thought. I may need more reassurance down the road that every thing will be fine. I am still worried but I will do what ever it takes to have a healthy baby. Thanks again.

Hi! Hope you had a great weekend!! When I had my VBAC, the plan was to use low dose pitcoin to induce me (this would have taken place over night..) First thing in the morning my OB was to break my water and insert an IUPC (intrauterine pressure cath) it is the only way to measure teh 'intensity' of your contractions. This way she could a very close on my progress. A week before my induction my blood pressure spiked and I ended up going in early. When I got there I was already 3-4cm so the induction was not even necessary. My OB broke my water to help things along, and within 5 1/2 hours I was ready to push. It was a great feeling to have a VBAC... You can do it!! Good luck to you! Keep me posted...

Hi there, thanx so much for answering my question. I feel a lot better now...and yea, I read that as long as it's brown, it should be fine. But am a paranoid mom to be :) Actually I haven't had any spotting at all today, so that's good. Our due dates are on the same day ! Do keep in touch and happy pregnancy !

kourtnee - Sunday, 16 Mar
Hi,, congrats on your pregnancy.. I am having my third as well.. Oct. 13th. I have not been to the Dr yet but according to the Internet, my due date is the 13th. I have had two c-sections, unnecessary one I think, but I want to have a natural one this time. I am glad to see that you are wanting a VBAC as well. Alot of Dr.'s won't do one though, so hopefully I can find a good Dr. If not, I may have to have it at home. My hubby is a Paramedic and can deliver it, but that kinda freaks me out.. How are you feeling?

KarenVG - Saturday, 15 Mar
Hey I am having a surprise #3 and also stay at home... Congrats... Hope you are feeling well

mollymom - Friday, 14 Mar

I'd speak to your dr just to put your mind at rest but i dont think it is something to worry about. My dr wasnt concerned that i was leaking. Its a pain in the ass thats for sure lol x

ANGELOF08 - Wednesday, 12 Mar
Hi! I was just reading your blog from the other day and I wanna just say to you that you are such an inspiration to diabetic woman! Congrats on your beautiful babies!

bostonrunner - Wednesday, 12 Mar
I had a milky leaking from my breasts and the doctors ended up putting me on thyroid medicine. Since your leaking is clear, I'm not sure. I would ask your doctor. Good luck!

clackkit - Wednesday, 12 Mar
Hi, sounds like your leaking colostrum. I thought i was early leaking it at 17 weeks lol. All the best with your pregnancy xx

booots26 - Wednesday, 12 Mar
Thanx for the advice. The progesterone doesn't make me sick, I am just worried about the side effects, but I am taking 100 mg a day for the next 2 weeks, and I am hoping I can get an appt. next week to check my levels and hopefully they are high enough to stop taking them. Good luck with your pregnancy :)
