Tuesday, 17 June Your baby sounds normal. There is not much you can do with babies at this age, other than cuddle them and talk to them--those are the best things for them at this stage. jenlove -
Monday, 16 June Hey Girl! I am just slightly ahead of you, Ethan will be 5 weeks on Wed. I noticed a big change in him this last week. He is more aware and focuses more. I started showing him more rattles and toys, mostly black, white, or red. And mirrors are supposed to be really good, too. Today at the Ped office he stared at his reflection for a long time and watched himself move around. It was so cool! So I think you are just at the point it should be starting. Just try to introduce new things and see what works! They're all different. Hope you're all doing well! danish-girl -
Monday, 16 June Hi darling...I could have written your post...I have those same questions. I feel like I am not doing enough...I just talk to zac a bit when he is awake and I try and entertain but I feel like he is more interested in looking out into the room. Maybe its normal huh?

Monday, 16 June I think your baby is responding appropriately for now. You sound like you are doing she needs at this point. In the next month she is going to get more interactive and you will definitely know because she will respond to you and the things you are trying to stimulate her with

Sunday, 15 June My daughter is almost 10 weeks and still makes that noise. It almost sounds like she is trying to take a breath or something. I hate it when sh does that it worries me. But I think they out grow it. summerisis -

Wednesday, 11 June Hi there, I saw your post on O mos... my baby sneezes a lot too and my pediatrician said that babies this age often do sneeze a lot, so I think it's pretty normal. summerisis -
Wednesday, 11 June Hey Monica, Thanks for the link for breathable crib bumpers. I had no idea they existed until Jeanette mentioned it in her response. I'll most certainly look into it. christie78 -

Saturday, 7 June I would let her cry it out, go to her at 10 minute intervals for a reassurance hug to let her know you're still there. It's harsh and you will feel awful but it will be better for you all in the long run, good luck. xXx NewBeginings -
Saturday, 7 June hey i just read your comment about having to hold her all day for her to stay asleep. id reccomend swaddling her really tight and then getting one of those front carrier sling things this way shes close to you and confortable so shes happy and you have the use of both your hands to get other stuff done till she grows out of this stage. good luck MonikaOH -
Saturday, 7 June have you tried pacifier and cradle rocking? jamie1stTime -
Saturday, 7 June Hey! I just saw your post on the 3 month page about having to hold your baby all the time. Mine was the same way but I was lucky in that there was always family here to help with the holding! At nights though he slept on my tummy flat on his (so we were tummy to tummy). Otherwise he would just not sleep. We slept this way until he was 2 1/2 months! Then he would sleep in his bouncer and i would buckle him and tuck him really tight with a blanket. (He sleeps in his crib just fine now dispite everyone telling me he'd never move out of my bed if I continued.) Others suggested to me to buy a swaddle but I loved the cuddle time :) Good luck and I hope you find something that works! mommyinthesky -
Saturday, 7 June My baby needed to be held a lot in the beginning too. 15 days is kind of young to do the crying out thing. It probably wouldn't work yet anyway. Half the time my baby cried even while he was being held. The first thing we did was tried to find someplace that he would sleep without being held. He could sleep in his car seat, then he was able to nap in his bouncy seat, but the best thing that stopped the crying for us was the swing. Sometimes the baby gets really attatched to things like the swing, but at least it gets the baby off you for awhile. You could try a sling or snugli. My baby didn't like it, but my sister's baby did. Now she will only sleep in the snugli though. My baby slept in the swing a lot until finally I could put him in his crib for naps as well as bedtime. Just keep trying different things until it works and if you have to let the baby cry while you get something to eat, then do it. LeahG -
Friday, 6 June My son is the same way. He slept on my chest the first 5.5 weeks & then we gave the swing a try. Now at almost 4 months he still will only sleep there or with me. Trust me...it works! It's the best thing we purchased! Oh, btw, it may not even be the motion. Your baby may have reflux or just want to sleep sitting up. We leave the swing on for 20 minutes or so & then turn it off. He sleeps all night this way. His doc said that it was fine & many babies just like sitting up. Hope this helps. DeeRod -

Friday, 6 June Have you tried swaddling her? They sell these kidopatumus swaddling blankets that make it really easy to swaddle. Also, do you have a sling? My son gets really fussy at night but when I put him in the sling and walk around with him, he falls right to sleep and then I can put him down. I have the peanut shell and I love it:www.thepeanutshell.com. Hope this helps!
