monica9 -
monica9, questionnumber 1213970739 Is now closed.

babychloe2008 - Monday, 30 June
My baby had a heat rash of tiny read little bumps that went from the top of her eyebrow and all the way back to the middle top of her scalp. The doctor did verify the heat rash and said that it would go away on its own. I was worried because she had had it a couple of days and I finally took her in. I think it lasted a good week or two.

makayla08 - Monday, 30 June
well my baby got a heat bumps about two weeks ago so i started to put johnsons baby powder on her and it helps keeps her cool

mommykris - Monday, 30 June
yes! my son gets heat rashes on his face and the back of his neck when he's sweating. he sleeps on his tummy and so usually one side of his face gets pretty hot. i just make sure to give him a bath in cool water when i notice and it seems to help a lot. someone said it might be baby acne, but these bumps are red and go away after a few hours. so i know it's not the acne. hope this helps!!

OurBabyBean0508 - Monday, 30 June
It's baby acne, my little one has it too. They say to wash her face once a day with a gentle baby wash and it should clear up in 2-3 weeks. Good luck and congratulations!

Grace - Monday, 30 June
All my babies have had those little red bumps come up on their face and head. Their skin is more sensitive and is still adjusting to life outside of water and also when they get it around their mouth and cheeks, people call it milk bumps not necessarily because of milk but because of their face resting on your arm to nurse, it prevents their skin from breathing just like it does ours (if we were to sleep with our hand or arm on our face, it would break out because it can't breathe right. Those little bumps happen any time of year but I think keeping the skin clean and properly aired will make them lessen. But they do go away all on their own and reveal that baby soft skin that everyone talks about once they adjust to life outside, maybe around 2 months it'll be perfect. Hope this helps, at least this is from my experience. Just had my 4th in 5 years. =) Good luck.

Cherryb0m - Monday, 30 June
my little girl has been getting those bumps too, they come and go, i think it's related to the heat

becky468 - Monday, 30 June
Thank you. I think I will be inserting a few tonight. I'm not in any of a rush but I just don't wanna go over due like I did with my daughter. Especially it being summer and the heat. I'll let you know if anything happens.

Camryn Jewel - Friday, 27 June
Try using a nail filer because i did the same thing too

Allie08 - Thursday, 26 June
I did that too....Don't you feel horrible? I did put one of the mini bandaids on my baby's finger because it took a while to stop bleeding. Once the bleeding stopped I took it off. Just keep an eye out for infection (redness, swelling, and/or pus)

crazyeights - Thursday, 26 June
No band-aids. If she gets her finger in her mouth she will choke on it!! Poor baby, I've done that so many times. It makes ya feel really bad.

branbug - Thursday, 26 June
i would say not to worry about it. i snipped my little ones also and my other 2 when they were little. I thinks it's ok. maybe put some neosporin anti bacterial on it if your worried but i think shes okay :0) its not a deep cut right? just a little nic?

pc - Thursday, 26 June
Hi. My little boy when he was an infant had the little rash you describe. My doctor didn't give me anything, and it eventually went away on its own. It almost resembled a heat rash.

ColtensMom2006 - Wednesday, 25 June
I'm glad to hear your doing well! It's always nice when they start getting here own schedule.

I'm doing well..i'm ready to have this baby though. I'll be 35 weeks tomorrow...hopefully sooner than later...

Hey there! I am like you and worry SO dang much! Just reading all the nice posts on this page from ppl reassuring you actually made ME feel better too. Talk about crazy-- I take my baby's temperature EVERY. DAY. I know I'm weird, and I'll try not to do it, but I'll start being paranoide about a bunch of stuff and work myself up until i'm like "let me just take his temp again and when it tells me he doesnt have a fever I'll feel better" so I give in! His poor little rear end! oh well what can you do. I just think that it will be so much easier when they are older and can communicate, bc I worry that if something is wrong he wont be able to tell me! Ahh.

mom2boy - Sunday, 22 June
I think you are reading the milestones for the wrong months. Smiling and cooing at 4 weeks is pretty young. I think the average baby will social smile around 6 weeks give or take a week or so. It sounds to me like your baby is doing exactly what she should be doing. I think the milestones are more like they are suppose to met at the end of the month not the beginning.

hawaiimommy - Saturday, 21 June
i wouldn't worry about it just yet! braeden didn't laugh until just a couple of months ago. except in his sleep. he always used to laugh in his sleep. lol. and even now he's not too easily amused ;) lol. and he didn't smile that often at 1 month either. and i don't think he really paid that much attention to his hands at that time either. so don't worry! braeden just turned 5 months old today and he's already been doing the things he's supposed to start doing, for weeks now! so babies develop and different rates. and if you're still concerned, just bring it up to his ped. i'm sure he/she could reassure you and tell you when you should start worrying.

collsbaby - Saturday, 21 June
Hi, just an observation after reading your page...you seem to worry an awful lot about stuff! I think you are worrying about stuff that you don't need to be worrying about. Chill out sister and just enjoy your little cutie! She's fine I'm sure. I never read the milestones on here because they always seem off to me. I usually go by the milestones that other mom's are posting (but I make sure the baby is the same week as mine, not just the same month page.) Even at this age, a week can make a HUGE difference in milestones. My baby didn't smile until she was 6 weeks old. Just relax a bit and have fun! Save all the worrying for when she's a teenager!

gabymom - Saturday, 21 June
Hope you are doing good. I just post some new pictures of my baby on my page if you want to take a look. Take care

dannie - Saturday, 21 June
Like most moms, you are worrying way too much! Your darling little girl is ONLY 4 weeks old, you can't expect much from a baby that young. Many of the things that babies do at that age are not done intentionally, more by reflex or surprise. Give her another 2 months and I am sure you will notice her doing way more. I was also concerned with my son at times and worrying he wasn't reaching milestones, but then out of nowhere he would master a milestone and move on to the next. He is now 4 months old and boy has he really taken off. He is a completely different boy incomparison to the little infant I brought home from the hospital. Just comfort, show affection and love your little girl and she will turn out just perfect

prego1018 - Saturday, 21 June
Not 100% sure, but I think that's a bit early for that stuff. Babyzone.com has weekly developments for babies if you are interested. It's kinda cool because it talks about certain studies to prove the development for that stage in life.

YolandaLee - Saturday, 21 June
4 weeks is early to coo and smile, don't worry, your baby is perfectly normal! Around 3 months they discover their hands etc.
