Thursday, 13 November Ian had a cold a little over a week ago. He didn't have a fever, but he wasn't eating or sleeping well, like your little guy. I took him to the doctor and she prescribed some donatussin drops. I only gave it to him at bedtime and first thing in the morning. It really helped!
I hope your son feels better soon. Good luck! stacka -
Thursday, 13 November Hi, I posted in the forum 'common cold' and I don't know if you are breastfeeding or not, but my baby has been same as yours and I tried a small amount of breastmilk in his nose and it really helped to clear his breathing. Karina -

Friday, 7 November What lisatek said works great!!! saline drops(with the "buger-sucker) baby vicks rub, and a humidifier will do the trick. The only thing I can add is using not a regular humidifier , but vicks vaporiser with special vapor oils. It's only 15 dollars + the vapors($4-5)and during the cold season it will be your best friend. raebabe -
Friday, 7 November Not sure if you got your answer, but they do have "baby vicks" for ages 3 months and up! I just used it on my baby last night! It looks the same as the other vicks, but it has a pink cover! Hope this helps you :) momof6 -
Friday, 7 November We just got over a horrible cold and the Vicks really helped a ton - I put it on her little chest and turned on the vaporizer and she slept pretty well - I had to re-vicks her a couple times during the night but I really feel like it worked. Good luck - I hope he gets better soon - It's sooo sad when they are sick!!!

Friday, 7 November Hi... I have delt with a couple colds with my 18 month old. You can prop their crib up with blovks of wood or telephone books so that she doesn't have to sleep in her carseat. Go to the store and buy little noses saline drops and spray it in her nose about 3-6 sprays and suck it out with the bulb syringe. It will dry her nose up in no time. If she is caughing you can get baby vicks and put it on her chest and on her feet. Put on a warm pair of footy jammie. A cool mist humidifier in the room with also loosen up any mucous that she has. Hope she feels better soon and good luck:) Laura Ward -

Sunday, 26 October Don't worry, I think it is normal. I believe I read somewhere that boys brains develop a little slower than girls and they usually take a little longer to reach milestones than their female counterparts. A friends son is over 7 mths and he still sits only with assistance or he will topple over. whittysmith -
Sunday, 26 October My son will be 6 months on the 3rd and he isn't sitting up either. He seems to want to crawl but he just flails his arms and legs when he tries. He also just started liking solids within the last week. I wouldn't worry about it, my first son was VERY slow at learning things and he's in Kindergarten now and he's super smart. Kids all do things on their own time. Lizzy -
Tuesday, 21 October I tried the finger brush, and it works great! Thanks! whittysmith -
Monday, 20 October Thanks for the advice! :) Gavin also has reflux and has had rice cereal put in his bottle since he was 2 months old. He seems interested in solids for a day or two and then he refuses for a while. I cannot get him to eat cereal from a spoon at all, he gags when I try. He's just so picky. I hope he starts eating solids soon. Rosieb -
Thursday, 9 October I tried pumping and expressing when my other kids were babies. And failed miserably. Lol. And my husband doesnt help with the baby at all. I'm flying solo on this one. I dont really want to give him formula but maybe i must try soy for times like these. saragirl5515 -
Wednesday, 8 October It may be teething. I wasnt sure how to tell the difference?? he is on enfamil lactofree formula. He had been on the similac brand lastweek and we switched him to enfamil brand becuase i think the similac aggervated his acid reflux. Whew, its hard figuring out babies!
