5/17/07: Aadi is 4 weeks old today...weighs almost 10lbs & 22" tall.

He is doing well. except the fact that he suffers from gas & which makes both of us miserable. yet, with the advice of all wonderful mommies out here, i'm sure we will solve this soon. he enjoys in his morning hours but after his 11am-2pm nap, all troubles start. i'm yet to figure out how to add photos here....Looks like he will outgrow his bassinet in 2 weeks & he does not like it anymore. he neither enjoys swing. only thing he likes is to be held all the time when he is awake...he still has umbilical cord so no full bath yet..

My Special thanks to Jmom. Also to KatieF, trinity, san, mommy2b, griffinsmommy, jordynsmommy etc. sorry if i missed some names... you all have been great to interact....

5/3/07: Finally Aadi is home... rest later.

April 17 2007: My darling boy Aadi has arrived on 17th april, 7lbs9oz & 21" tall. but pray for him as he is in neonatal intensive care unit for some infection & high fever. I still can not take him home till next weekend.

I'm not putting my birth story & days at NICU as now I want to remember only these good days at home.....Thanks everyone to make pregnancy such an simple journey & wish future journey is also smooth & safe...

did you talk to your dr about him rejecting the formula? they also have a prescription one he may like. when mixing start with 25%alimentum/nutramigen and 75% lipil after a day or two of him taking this them move up to 50-50 the 75%alimentum/nutramigen and 25lipil. or use your breast milk instead of formula. they girls on the message board said fenugreek helps increase milk supply. i know they say blood in stools could be from food allergy, but it could also be from his reflux. if he has a bleeding ulcer it can cause blood in stools. you have to be careful as they can become aniemic quickly. what did your dr think it was from? does the reflux meds help him? since my children have always had problems in the first 2months with allergies and reflux i have always disliked the first couple weeks. after their problems where taken care of it was great. i hope you find out what is giving him problems.

i saw that you have aadi on alimentum and you think it smells. well my first was on the ready to feed and my others on the powder and they have different smells but since my kids have been on it and i am used to it i love the smell as it is the smell of by babies. do you know what i mean. i smell that and i am filled with thoughts, love and memories of my children. pampers diapers do the same. is it working for him? how is his reflux? ethan has swalling issues when he reflux. he ends up coughing and choking. same with feeding. his spitting up is a little better. what meds did you say he was on? if you sign up for the welcome addition club on similac's website and tell them you are on alimentum they will send you sample and coupons for alimentum. my kids could not take nutramigen. it made them cry as much as the other formula. only alimentum worked. hope all is well.

I am sorry Aadi is having a hard time with that formula. It really is nasty, but hopefully it helps. Avery actually didn't have a problem with it at all. She pulled a little face the first time we gave it to her, but that was it. She's just a piglet and will take whatever she can get! Hopefully mixing it will help his little taste buds adapt to it. Does your husband have the day off tomorrow? Mine does and it'll be nice. He's going mountain biking in the morning, and then that afternoon we're going swimming at my mom's and having a BBQ. Well..Matt swims with the boys while I sit on the side with Avery. But I told him we're going to switch roles tomorrow! I want to swim too! We're going to be blessing Avery next Saturday at my mom's. It'll be nice. She's going to wear the same blessing dress that me and all of my sisters wore, so that will be special. We can do it in our church as well, but we blessed both of my boys at home so we're going to do the same with Avery. I hope you can get out soon with Aadi. He might even be okay if you are out and about and not in your house. I find that with Avery. There are new things to see and things so I think she's not as apt to be cranky when we're out. I hope your weekend is going good. Let me know how the half and half formula is working!

so how is the formula change doing? what formula did you put him on? the dr said to give the meds a little longer yet and if no better we will increase it or change meds. i am a little worried as he chokes a lot from the spitting up. i really need to keep his head elavated. i hope the change helps.

Oh! I just got your message! I am glad that the dr was able to help. We just took Avery off of Alimentum because it wasn't really helping her. But I'm sure it'll really help Aadi. It's really expensive, but if it helps and gives you a happy baby...it so worth it! Avery has a rash on her cheeks as well. I've been putting a cream on it and it seems to be getting a little better. It's by Gentle Naturals and it's just their Eczema cream. It's a thick cream that heals and protects. I'm glad he slept for you last night! Maybe there was something in the air. Hopefully the air stays the same tonight! Good luck with the new formula. You should notice a difference in 24-48 hours if it's going to help him. I will keep you both in my prayers that it does! I hope you are feeling better today as well. It's hard to deal with a baby when you yourself doesn't feel well. Have a great day!

Hi moon! I see you are online! I hope last night went well for you and that today's been okay as well. Avery went to sleep last night at 11:30 and slept until 7:15!!! Of course Bryton woke up at 4:30 and cried out which woke me up, but it was fine. She started stirring and wiggling at about 7 and then she finally started getting mad at 7:15. I'm glad I got some rest because my boys have been HARD today! I have my 6 week appt and I'm glad that I'm going to have a few minutes of quiet! I hope things are going well! When do you have to go back to work?

You could always call and talk to the doctor to see what they think. If the receptionist tries to answer your question, insist on having the doctor or one of his/her nurses call you. It's always better to be safe! He probably shouldn't have anything red in it if he's just eating formula/breast milk because they don't contain anything red. I would call just to be on the safe side. That's great that he slept so long! Avery hasn't had one of those shocking long stretches yet. When I wake up I can pretty much guess what time is. I'm usually right! Anyway...if you call the dr let me know how it goes. Good luck and I hope he gives you another long stretch tonight! :)

ethan likes his reglan but not zantac. my daughter always took meds good, which was good as has been taking meds since 1mo. i go back to work on june 5th. i work at a daycare now so my kids come with. work gives me a routine so i am more productive but it is nice to be home. i hope aadi is doing good by the time you go back. he is so cute.
