5/17/07: Aadi is 4 weeks old today...weighs almost 10lbs & 22" tall.

He is doing well. except the fact that he suffers from gas & which makes both of us miserable. yet, with the advice of all wonderful mommies out here, i'm sure we will solve this soon. he enjoys in his morning hours but after his 11am-2pm nap, all troubles start. i'm yet to figure out how to add photos here....Looks like he will outgrow his bassinet in 2 weeks & he does not like it anymore. he neither enjoys swing. only thing he likes is to be held all the time when he is awake...he still has umbilical cord so no full bath yet..

My Special thanks to Jmom. Also to KatieF, trinity, san, mommy2b, griffinsmommy, jordynsmommy etc. sorry if i missed some names... you all have been great to interact....

5/3/07: Finally Aadi is home... rest later.

April 17 2007: My darling boy Aadi has arrived on 17th april, 7lbs9oz & 21" tall. but pray for him as he is in neonatal intensive care unit for some infection & high fever. I still can not take him home till next weekend.

I'm not putting my birth story & days at NICU as now I want to remember only these good days at home.....Thanks everyone to make pregnancy such an simple journey & wish future journey is also smooth & safe...

hi there... howz ya... love ur pics:) u both luk jus so purfect....:) do keep adin more pisc as n wen u free.. trust me i do the same... as soon as she sleeps i run to the comp but i m at a lil ease for now since moms here... shes goin to leave on the 9th of june for india again :(( i hope i get enough time then to get online. cuz the house work seems neverending... cooking cleanin :( n ofcourse bein with kaira... god knows how ill manage... i wnt have ne help as we have no frends here.... no indian or japanese frends.:( u were sayin aadi is eatin less... how often does he wake up for his feed...? recently even i felt kaira wnt feed well.. cuz the other day she jus slept all nite n woke up 2 times.. n took feed juis for 10 min... but then i asked many ppl n they said its totally normal.. dont worry. ya one more thing i wanted to tell u as u feedin yet.. try nt eatin anything with seeds.. like eggplant, green pepper, ladyfingre... i dnt know y ehhehe jus a indian rule :)) lol hope u not eatin khaata n cold xstuff too ... take care dear...n abt the page... there are many sites like glitter-graphics, addglitter, rockyou .. u can add all the html stuff from these sites :)

Hi moon! I'm sorry to hear that things aren't working for Aadi either. I read your post on month by month. I said the same thing last night to my husband about no one making anything to help babies! I mean..of all the brilliant people out there....no one has attempted to find something for babies! If I was smart enough, I'd be working on it! If someone did come up with something, they'd be a billionaire in one day! I got the Fisher Price Miracles and Milestones play mat. It was a little more expensive than some of the others, but not the most expensive. I wanted one with lots of hanging toys and one with music and lights. It should be here tomorrow or Friday. I hope it'll entertain her for a little while so I can get some things done around here. Maybe even wash my hair!! Nothing is working for Avery so far. I've tried the expensive formula and it doesn't seem to be working good enough to keep spending so much money on it. The water, the tea, the gripe water, mylecon and maalox. Nothing! I think maybe I'm just out of luck for the next few months! We had a really bad night last night and this morning wasn't pleasant. She hardly slept at all! I have my postpartum appt on Friday and I'm getting an IUD. I'm thinking maybe no more babies for me! Three is good! I wasn't sure whether or not I wanted more. But...after last night I think I'm done! I called my husband at 6:30am crying telling him that we are done! No more! He got up early to go biking. I know..crazy! Anyway...I hope today was a little better. Maybe you should ask your doctor about giving Aadi Zantac and Reglan(not sure about that spelling). The Zantac is for the acid and the Reglan helps the food stay down. That's what most dr's prescribe for reflux and it usually really helps the babies. I would maybe call and let the dr know that the maaylox isn't doing anything and you need something more effective. Good luck! :) Oh..I will post some pics soon. I need by hubby to scan the pictures into the computer. I'm lame at that. Also,,,look at the upper right hand side of your page. It says 'how to photos to your VIP page'. It gives you step by step instructions. I couldn't figure it out either and then found that. I'd love to see your little guy!

if his meds don't help soon then you should call the dr. i thought maalox is to be instint relief? glad he sleeps good. ethan takes naps during day and sleeps good at night. do you feel less stressed since he is on meds? i give ethan a little more time on meds and if not better than i do not care what my dr says he is going to specialist. don't be afraid to do the same. has aadi started to smile a lot yet? for about 2wks ethan has really been smiling and cooing. i never really like the first couple wks with the allergies and reflux they are fussy. and just when they are all good then i have to go back to work. so you work in the health care what do you do? i worked as a medical assistant about a year after i had my daughter i work in a day care until they are all in school then i will go back to the health care field.

i just read your post on 1month i put ethan in his car seat to sleep and i put felicity in a bouncey sleep. i did try to elivate the mattress but she always slid down or turned side ways. they can't more the other was.

hey moon. i was just checking to see how aadi is doing. is he on meds? ethan is on zantac for acid which helps the pain and reglan which helps the spitting up. he has been on them since saturday. they have only helped a little. he goes for his 2mo check on friday so i will see if he want to adjust the meds. hope all is well. can't wait to hear how he is doing.

Hi moon - I am super frustrated too! I got some Maalox but it doesn't seem to do anything. I've actually been using gripe water too. It's a the 'Little Tummies' brand that I found in the baby isle. It doesn't seem to help either. She woke up at 3am to eat and I couldn't get her back to sleep until almost 5. She was wiggling and grunting and passing gas the whole time. Then she was up at 6am to eat again, and didn't fall back to sleep until 8am and doing the same thing. She doesn't really do it during the day though. Well..maybe she does, but I don't notice it because she is awake and I am busy with my boys too. But...all I know is, is that it's really making me crazy! I am going to call my pediatrician tomorrow. My sister's first baby was really gassy and she said the doctor gave her some prescription drops that really helped. I just need to get more than 4 hours of sleep a night! I am sorry that Aadi had a bad day. When they have bad days, we have bad days! I will let you know if my ped says anything or gives me anything helpful. I know this is a frustrating time, but they do end up growing out of it as they get older. But...the waiting is hard and exhausting! I hope he has a better night tonight. Aadi's schedule is changing probably because he is getting older. They are not as tired anymore, and he is starting to notice things in the world and he's getting more interested in the world around him. I ordered a cute gym mat thing from Walmart. It's the things you lay them down on and it has a bunch of toys and things that hang down. I'm hoping that'll give Avery some entertainment for just a few minutes! She's been sleeping for 5 hours very peacefully in her carseat. I wish she would do this at night! I might try sticking her in her car seat tonight. I wonder if that helps her tummy. We'll get there at some point!! Hang in there! :)

Hi moon...me AGAIN! I was wondering what kind of Maalox you're using and the dose. I am wondering if I should try that with Avery. She's not really refluxing, but she is really gassy. This morning after her 5am feeding she wiggled and grunted and kept passing gas for almost 2 hours. She didn't hold still for longer than about 3 minutes during that time. I am wondering if that will help with her gas. I know they have the regular kind, then the maximum strength kind that is for acid indigestion and gas.

I am SO happy to hear that he is doing better! That is so fabulous! What are you giving him? Has he been sleeping a little better as well? I'm really glad that you've gotten a little bit of a break! I hope Aadi isn't getting sick. I'm sure he is fine. 98 isn't a temp for a baby. Their body temps are usually a little higher than ours anyway. Let me know how he's feeling. Again..I'm very glad for you that you've found something to help him! That's fabulous!

Hi moon! How are you doing? How is Aadi?? Is that antacid working? I hope so! I hope it's giving both of you some relief! I read your post on month by month. You can make formula in the drop ins just like you would a normal bottle. With the breast milk just thaw it out and warm it up in the storage bag and then dump it in the drop in. You'll know when to switch when it's taking Aadi a long time to eat or you notice he's sucking really hard or he's making a clicking sound when he sucks. I have Avery on size 2 nipples right now. I will probably switch her to 3's in a couple of weeks as she starts eating more. How was your weekend? Were you able to get some rest? Have you gotten a bouncer yet? I hope things are going great for you guys! Let me know how he's doing, and you of course!

hey there how are ,, yes i m from india. firstly thanks for the compliment... M settled in tokyo. hope aadi is better now. u can have jeera roti.. i do that. jeera really helps with feed. do u follow the indian way of after delivery food ?? well as my moms here to help me i m doin so... eatin no spice... i eat only turi, karela, moong dal,baingan, beans, carrot and methi, tofu, paneer. i also thought that milk creates gas. so stopped all dairy products.. but its not so... i jus stopped green veggies like spinach n saag. i feel really guilty cuz of me my baby got diarrhea. i sure m positive but the guilt is killing me cuz shes suffering... cuz of me. i by mistake had japanese mustard spinach.. i.e like saag. n it caused it. neways... howz aadis colic? my sisters baby also had the same prob .. n went away byitself after 4 months... all we had to do wit hher is to rock her all the time.. n give her mylicon. do mail me ur pics wen free.. keep in touch.

did your dr give meds or anything? felicity has chronic sinusitis, had pneumonia twice, been hospitalized and needed o2 nd breathing treatments. been to the er many times. been on antibiotics every month for 1 1/2 yrs. after she got pnuemoia for the second time i took her to a specialist. i learned i had to be aggressive with my dr as i he did not treat her properly. she is now 3and still has it. she and i have missed so much since she was sick. i don't want to see any other child or parent go through what we did. so please stay on top of his reflux and your dr to treat it. if he is coughing with meals that is a symptom. my daughter was on meds and still coughing when eating and my dr said it was not from the reflux. i had a friend who's baby would stop breathing as she was refluxing and asperating. ethan is going to the drs. tomorrow as he is crying with feedings and on and off the bottle. he also brings stuff up but not out and chokes on it and then gasps for air. i am not about to let him go another wk in pain and discomfort. he needs meds now. another friends baby just turned a yr old in dec and he has tubes and chronic sinusitis, asthma and takes breathing treatments every day. all because of reflux. now thankfully not all cases are like this but please stay on top and look things up online so you know all the symptom. good luck and keep in touch.

I'm so glad to hear that your appointment went well and that you are feeling a little bit better! We actually gave Bentley(my second) the Maalox or Mylanta(I can't remember which) and I remember that it did help him. Have you gotten a bouncer yet? I think that would really help Aadi and I'm sure he'd like it since he'd be propped up and it would vibrate. Make sure to get one that has a bar that goes across with toys on it. He'll start really looking at them soon. Avery never spits up. She has a few times, but only a little spit up. Bentley would projectile vomit after we fed him and then he would scream. But since I've been using that fennel and caraway water in her bottles and giving her the fennel tea with milk sugar her tummy hasn't been bothering her like it had. She usually wakes up for a feeding between 5:30-6:30 and it takes about 45 minutes at least to get her to stop grunting and wiggling. Then usually the only way to stop it is to pull her into bed with me and she'll sleep. But she actually went back to sleep in her bassinet this morning and slept until 8:30. It was fabulous! The fennel tea is helping with her constipation which I know was bothering her. I really hope that antacid works for Aadi! They have these things at the store that help prop babies up in their beds. It's a foam pad thing that you put on top of the mattress, but under the sheet. It's for babies with reflux or ear problems. I know I've seen them at Target. Maybe you should try that if you want him to sleep in his bed. I'm glad to hear that you got some good advice. I hope things start getting better! There will come a time when you'll look at Aadi and think 'Wow..I actually really like you now!' That's what happened with Bentley. One day when he'd actually been a little pleasant for a few days and I was able to get a little rest from the crying I realized that I liked him! I always loved him, but I didn't like him for a while! Good luck! Let me know how that stuff works. Have a great weekend! :)

let me know how tomorrows appt goes. i have to be pushy with my dr. i used to work for him so i know he means well but he he does not see what i see as the mom so i have to be on him. and i don't feel bad my daught has been sick for 3 yrs and i had i not pushed she would still be sick and on antibiotic every month and have had more than 2 pneumonia's. so if you really think something is wrong with your son( and you will know it your insticts will tell you) then stay on top of him till you get results. ethan has been fussy with his feedings and congestion for wks said he thinks it is reflux and if symptoms continue for two wks(1wk left) then he will send him to a specialist. tonight he cried and was on and off the bottle. he has only taken in 3oz in now almost 4hrs. he crys when he spits up. so even though the receptionist is annouded by me i am calling and getting him meds tomorrow. the poor boy does not need to be in pain and i do not need to deal with a baby in pain when we know what the problem is. i used to be afraid to say things but they are my children and i love them just as i know you love Aadi. sorry if i got spazzy. good luck tomorrow, my prayers are with you both.

hey there read ur mesg on talking babies. There are a few things tat help inc breast milk ... Cumin, loads of it is gud. Garlic is supposed to b helping but it causes lot of smell in baby poop n cld.. nt sure .. b cause of gas. wheat, nuts.. like almonds.. v helpful. drink milk, if it suits ur baby. curd, any milk product. rice, but not heavy rice like indian basmati. ill try n let u know more after askin my mom... hope this helps. try n eat well dear... cuz its only now that u can gradually get ur energy levels back. take care. love to aadi.

Hi moon! I'm just checking in to see how today went? I hope you got a little rest last night and that Aadi gave you a little break from his lungs today! Avery was up ALL night. She wouldn't go to sleep until about 11 and was up at 2. She was wide awake until 6! Then she was in and out until I got up at 8. I'm super tired today! Hopefully tonight goes better. I hope things are going well for you and your sweet baby! :)
