Hey Everyone. I'm Bekki. My Husband and I are expecting our very first child!

A Bit About Me...

I am Married to the Funniest man, Dan. We had always know of each other. (he is best buds with my Bro & cousin) We just never paid much attention to each other. I thought he was too old for me (LOL, only 5 years) and I was the friends sister, that you just don't date. I started hanging out with my Bro and eventually Dan. After a few times of dancing, drinking and laughing he asked my Bro if it would be okay if he asked me on a date. We dated for 2 years and he popped the question on August 25, 2006. We were married March 24, 2007 at our childhood church.

We have two four legged fur-babies. Zoie, the Jack Russell is our three old baby-dog. I love her more than a person should love a dog. Sammie our 10 year old Red Lab was a rescue dog. He is dumb as bricks, but the most loyal and loving dog.

My Prego Story...

At the end of December 2007 I found out I was pregnant...HUGE surprise. I had only been off birth control for a month. (I decided to go off because it makes me bitchy, really bitchy! and also because It really wasn't working for me) On January 2ish, 2008 I had a miscarriage. It sucked, but since it was so early and I know God had a plan I accepted it and got over it.

It seems that God's plan was to get us prepared and make us realize that having a baby would be great. Whenever it would happen. We went with the baby plan, IF it happens it happens.

I found out I was pregnant Feb. 26, I only took the test to prove I wasn't so that I could go with my planned surgery in two days. I took the test the moment I got home. No joke, I still had my coat on and the Drug store bag on my wrist...Ready for the negative. A BIG Fat Positive stared back at me. I told the dogs and waited for Dan to get home. I showed him the test and he couldn't believe it. He watched while I took another and another, just in case I was tricking him...all three test Positive. Dan now thinks he has Super sperm, that really know what they are doing.

Dan and I have an appointment to have an Ultrasound Wednesday, March 26! Can`t wait to hear the little heartbeat. I am a bit nervous and hope all is how it should!!! I will keep you posted!

Wednesday, 26 Mar

I had my first Doctors appointment today. When Dan and I arrived they said we weren`t scheduled. We were so bummed. Went through the regular Doctors check up. Everything looked healthy. But Holy Cow, the Pelvic Exam and Breast Exam hurt more than I could remember. I was told its just because everything is so much more sensitive. Well, after I got dressed the doctor came back in and said she scheduled me a Ultrasound in 30 minutes. Dan and I were so excited. After our wait we got to see our little Baby!! It was so wonderful! The baby had a heartbeat of 180!! They said that was a good heartbeat for this early because it will slow down the bigger the baby will get. One more happy moment. I got moved down one day on my due date! No longer November 4 but Now the 3rd!!!It really is setting in that I am going to be a MOM!

Tuesday, 29 April

13w1d-I have been feeling more of myself the past two weeks! Thank goodness. The throwing up was killing me, now I just get a little stomach ache now and then. I still am tired but manage to get more done in a day. I have been LOVING ice cream. Its weird for me because I am not a girl that likes sweets at all.
I woke up this morning and was like, "WOAH, I can see my belly starting to grow...FINALLY! "
Our last doctors appointment was last Monday. It was a short and sweet appointment. I have LOST two pounds. We heard the heartbeat the first time. It was so AMAZING hearing the little person growing inside me. The heartbeat was a strong 160 bpm! I am so ready to know if I am having a boy or girl. I am thinking its a girl but everyone else says boy. I can't wait for the next appointment on May 19th.

Monday, 19 May

My husband says, "Today is another day of getting fatter...Yah." then he laughed. I should have punched him...
16 weeks- I had my four month check up and today. It went great. Met my doctor today. Love her! Dan and I opted not to do the Quad test. We really figure what is the point. I have yet to gain any weight. It was a short and sweet appointment. Heard the baby's heartbeat again. It was a strong and steady 150 bpm. Dr. G said the heartbeat sounds "PERFECT!" We have scheduled the BIG U/S for June 10th. I can't wait. Only 21 days to go!! I am so ready to start getting the nursery ready. I am now starting to get a baby bump. Its little and I love it...

Wednesday, 11 June

19 weeks 3 days- Yesterday we had the BIG ultrasound we are So excited that we are having a BABY GIRL! It was amazing seeing real human parts moving around on the screen. I loved when she would move her arms around and tap her feet, even if she was tapping on my VERY full bladder. The tech was Wonderful! She was so much nicer than the witch we had in the past. The lady tech took time to answer our questions and she would go back to areas we requested to see. I was in heaven watching my little girl do summersaults, she had the hiccups, she was dancing around tapping her feet, sucking her thumb. It was so wonderful. It really is so amazing to see this little baby's heart, brain, spine and so much more in such detail! Oh, she is weighing in at 11 oz.
During the ultrasound a lady came in and said that Dr. G has to go to delivery so we need to come back for the check up. Bummer. Oh well, I am going in tomorrow for the regular check up. Because the radiologist was to look at the ultrasound and then share it with Dr. G our wonderful tech said she would take it down and let us know. But before she went I asked her what she thought, she said that she "isn't suppose to say but the baby looks great, just between us." She came back up about 10 minutes later and said the radiologists say looks good at a glance and we shouldn't worry about anything. YAH! We still will get the final word for the doctor but what the hell I feel pretty darn good that this baby is healthy!
I am so glad that we got pictures and a DVD. All the family is happy about this baby and the fact that the baby is a girl. (except for a certain JEALOUS sister in law, but that is a whole other issue...GRRRR.) Everyone thought we would be having a boy. So it was fun telling the news that they were wrong! I can't wait to see my little ladybug! I know she will be so beautiful!

Friday, 13 June

19 weeks 5 days-I went to my Doctors appointment yesterday. Man, that was the longest I have had to wait...I read two entire magazines. I have finally gained weight, 4 whole pounds! The average is 14 pounds, But I have a feeling I will make it us in the weeks to come. Other than that my blood pressure is normal and Baby Girls heartbeat was in the 150's. Oh, She went over the results from my Ultrasound on the 10th. She went through it all and said, "from what we can tell your baby is as healthy as we can see with an Ultrasound." YAH!! We have a healthy baby girl that is growing perfectly to date!
I have also been feeling flutters in my belly and I love it. Only one morning they were really strong. Dan was able to feel her roll in his palm. It was funny to watch his face as it happened. Since then there really hasn't been strong movement. Dr. G said that it will still be a couple of weeks until I will feel the full blown kicks that are constant so don't worry! She also told me to eat more. I laughed...I eat A LOT! She told me a few extra cookies wouldn't hurt. Too bad I mostly crave veggies, fruit and cheese, my worst craving is popcicles (which seriously is like flavored frozen water).

Monday, 23 June

21 weeks today! I am so happy to be over half done! Dan and I have been trying to finish some house projects before our baby girl gets here. We have all our new appliances installed in the kitchen...Finally! It looks SO nice in our kitchen. We started the new landscaping of the front yard. We should have it done in a week. It will look beautiful with flowers and a fountain! Cant wait. Just two more projects after that until we start the best project, the NURSERY.
Not going to lie I have been in some pain the last couple of days. My body is stretching and making me feel oh so shitty. Sometimes the stretching pain takes my breath away. It was so bad last night I got about two hours of sleep. Ughhh, hopefully I can get a good night sleep tonight. I am starting to show more now even though I am still on the small side. I am so scared to get super huge...I am a little person.
I love when she kicks. It has been more constant and a bit stronger. I love having reassurance that she is still in there. (like she can really go anywhere) Her kicking also helped with the no sleep last night, but It was because I stayed awake loving the fact she was moving all about.
I am starting to count down the days until I no longer have to work here. Just a bit longer than three months and I am DONE! I can't wait to be a stay at home mom. Best job ever!

Tuesday, 8 July

23 weeks 1 day - Just got back from my Doctors appointment. It was again super short and sweet. I have gained a total of 7 pounds this far, not too bad if I may say so, not that I am actually watching my weight. Baby Girl heartbeat sounded perfect yet again. She was in the 150-160 bpm range. Her heartbeat sounded louder than the last time. Other than that next time I go in I have the Gluclose test. I am pretty sure I will be fine. Well, at least I hope. She has been kicking so much and they are getting stronger. My momma got to feel her kick for the first time on the Fourth! The summer seems to be flying by! And our house projects have been on hold, due to all the damn storms. Dan works for the power company and has been constantly working overtime restoring power, Last storm had hurricane winds, come on we live in Nebraska, it left 126,000 customers without power!. When he gets down time we lounge since he is so burned out. So the projects are getting pushed behind also. Oh well, at least we both work really hard when we don't have a lot of time to work with. We are wonderful procrastinators.

Thursday, 31 July

26 weeks 4 days- Had a doctors appointment today. I had been experiencing spotting a couple times this week so I knew I was also going to get a cervix exam. I have gained 6 more pounds! I am now at a total gain of 13 pounds. Baby's Heart rate was 152. And my blood pressure was just fine. I also had the Glucose test. The drink didn't taste bad at all, tasted just like a Orange soda pop! Yummy! So I will now the results by this weekend. Oh and I am measuring 27 weeks and not 26. After all the routine things she did a cervix check. HOLY CRAP it feels like you are rubbing at an open wound. Yikes. I bled a bit and she didn't like something and ordered me a Ultrasound of my cervix for thoughts of me going into Pre-term labor. So I went into the other doctors office and waited for the ultrasound, I was a bit nervous, but to be honest, this isn't in my hands. I can't control pregnancy, me, this pregnancy and baby are all up to God, so I was more relaxed thinking that it was all in his hands. Once I was in for the Ultrasound the tech said why not get a look at your baby! YAHOOOOO! She is beautiful, instead of looking like skeltor in the BIG 19 week ultrasound she actually looked like a little baby girl. She yawned and moved around a lot! then the tech surprised me with a 3D scan. She is without a doubt a little girl. I saw and felt her kicks, that was wonderful. So now I can picture her and what she looks like with every jab and poke. She kept hidding her face with her hands so I actually never got to see her face. But it was still a great feeling. After that we went to the cervix check. I am at 3.3 cm, don't really know what that means, the tech said as long as its above 3 cm you are fine.
After a couple hours I got my results back. No pre- term labor!!! I have a bacterial infection, BV, that could cause Pre-term labor if not treated. SO I now have two antibiotics I have to take. I hate the thought of doing so, but if I don't things could get worse! So I will start them this evening.

Friday, 1 August

26 weeks 5 days- I got a call from my doctor this morning about the Ultrasound tests. I am now being watched for Pre-term labor. I will be getting my 5th ultrasound done on Tuesday at 3:00 to see if my cervix is shortening. I also have to take it easy. ughhh, waiting around sucks.

Friday, 8 August

27 weeks 5 days- So on Tuesday I went in for another ultrasound. First I got to see Baby Madilyn and she still is growing and looking perfect! Then they measured my cervix. I was at 2.5 cm! I went from 3.3 cm to 2.5 cm in just 5 days! Not good. So they decided I would be sent to the prenatalogist at the hospital on Thursday for a check with the specialist. I went in on Thursday and had another ultrasound. The doctor was the one doing this. He pointed out all her parts...bladder, kidneys, stomach and so on. It was really cool. He measured me and looked in detail at my cervix. he said that he was not worried about my cervix because it wasn't make the shape...(he used his hands to show me, kinda a V/U shape. He did however say that baby is really far down. Farther than usual for a baby at 27 weeks. I mean her head was right at my cervix. She is 2 pounds 11 ounces, measuring about a week big, which is fine with me. I was told to take it easy, cut my activities, drink lots of water. Dan and I decided that it would be best if I just put in my two weeks now. So August 21st will be my last day. I am kind of excited about it and I know I can get done with more things I wanted to make for the nursery, which we haven't started.

Tuesday, 26 August

30 weeks 2 days- Holy crap I can't believe I am in the final stretch!!! Dan and I have finished painting the nursery and we are waiting for out furniture to arrive!! I have my baby shower in about two weeks. I can't wait!!! I had my regular doctors appointments today. I have gained a total of 16 pounds thus this far! YAH! and everything else check out fine. Baby is measuring perfectly and her heartbeat is in the 150's! I now will start going to the doctors every 2 weeks. Also have my first birthing class this evening. Wow, things are going so fast I cant hardly believe it!

Saturday, 20 September

33 weeks 6 days- I forgot to update from my last doctors appointment. I have gained an additional 6 pounds. I can't believe I gained that much in only two weeks. Everything else is great. her heartbeat is 159 bpm. She is head down in in the right position for birth. First off, HOLY CRAP heartburn is killing me! I am now getting BH and can really tell I have extra weight. I have We finished setting up the baby's room. I LOVE it. Only need to do finishing touches. I had one of my baby showers, the main one, It was wonderful. Lots of family and friends. The food was great, cute games and I got a lot of things that I now don't have to buy! I have washed all her clothes and bedding so if she was to arrive this minute she would have everything that she needs. Yah!!! I am getting tired easily and am getting anxious to have her here. But I love being pregnant. If it wasn't for heartburn and having a bump I wouldn't even know I was pregnant. we also toured the hospital and I am so excited. the natural birthing rooms are amazing. Now I am just preparing myself each day that I will be able to give birth without medication!

Tuesday, 30 September

35 weeks 1 day- I am really starting to hate the extra pounds now. Before it was not bad but now I am so afraid to get stretch marks...I have one. Its the only one I have on my entire body and I hate it. UGHHHHH!!!! I love when she pushes on my belly and Dan can feel her or see her! She sometimes pushes on my sides. Its very weird like the side of my body. What is she doing over there?
Had another doctors appointment today. Have now gained a total of 26 pounds. OUCH! I hope I stay under 30 pounds but for some reason I dont see that happening. Madilyn's heartbeat was in the 140's. Everything else seems good. I will now be going in every week. CRAP, when did the due date get so close?!!?

Tuesday, 07 October

36 weeks 1 day- Went to the doctor today. I have now gained 30 pounds. Arghhhh. I miss being thin!! I was checked and I am progressing...80% effaced, 1 cm dialated, and baby is at zero station. YAH! Baby's heartbeat is 150 bpm. Everything is looking good!

Oh, and congrats on a GIRL!! I keep thinking that's what I'm having as well (but only by intuition, I haven't done any crazy tests!!), but we will see...my parents have 8 grandsons (one of my brother's has 5 boys, and the other has 3 boys), so a girl would be quite welcome!!

thankful008 - Thursday, 12 June
Doing good so far with the pregnancy :) I did have quite a bit of nausea in the 1st trimester, and now dealing with a bit of heartburn, but you know, it's totally worth it! I keep feeling the baby move at random times during the day and it is just the best! My husband was able to feel the baby move for the first time a week or so ago, which was so awesome! We had one ultrasound at 14 weeks, and I think my next ultrasound is 28 weeks! So, just a few more weeks :) Things are going by fast now, I can't believe it's the halfway mark on Saturday for me!!

Awesome - I can't wait to find out what you're having!! March 24th is a good day - happens to be my birthday :) We are expecting our first baby on Nov 1st - I had a miscarriage last year and God totally restored me, and I know that His ways are perfect and I trust in His plan for my life!! The doctor heard 2 heartbeats at 14 weeks, and so imagine my husband, then Mr. Super Sperm :) (haha, I had to laugh at your comment) We finally got an ultrasound the next day and saw one very healthy and bouncy baby!! So, unless one stubborn lil babe is hiding somewhere, we are happy to say that there is just one in my belly (and at 5'1" petite, I'm not sure where 2 would fit)!!

let me know what the sex is tomorrow after your appt!

Once you have been hit, you have to hit 5 pretty Moms.
If you get hit again, You will know you are REALLY pretty!
So hit 15 pretty moms on your friends list to let them know they are
pretty!
Before I was a Mom
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom - I had never been puked on.
Pooped on. Chewed on. Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her
down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop
the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom -
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important
and happy.
Before I was a Mom -
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to
make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the
wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.
Send this to someone who you think is a special Mom.''

Hey!!

Just wanted to thank you for taking the time to check that out for me. It sucks that penguins are not a popular theme... cause I just love them. Plus my partner calls me his little penguin and now that we're having a baby he calls 'it' littlest penguin. So I figured it would be cute theme for the nursery. I think I might just draw penguins on the wall... and paint them.. I'm pretty good at it so.. we'll see :)

Anyway thx again and hope you are doing well!

Thanks so much, for you suggestion. I spelled "Christian" Kristien, to honor my deceased mother (kristy), so I'm sure the spelling is a lil girlie lol Thank you for commenting have a GREAT WEEKEND!

I am not going to have the Quad Test done either. Too many false negatives for me! The Dr's told my parents that my little sister was going to have Down's. Well she is totally healthy and gets straight A's. She just graduated from high school last week. So, I am glad to know that we aren't the only ones that chose not to get the test done.

BrideAndAMommy - Wednesday, 21 May
