I love that name! It's very feminine and sweet, and unique as well, which is great. My hubby and I have gone through so many name lists trying to find something unique but not too complicated or out there (because mine is pretty uncommon so I know what it's like). It's so hard! So, basically we've collected a list of names and we want to see the baby and meet it before we name it and then probably pick something from that list. Plus my hubby is Portuguese and I'm Indonesian, so we're not sure if we should throw in a name representing our background of if we should just go with whatever we like... *sigh*

Oh and I love Build-a-bear, I actually have two of my own, haha!

kelli - Wednesday, 14 May
haha, i'll do that. oh and do i have to drink alot of liquid before i go, my doctor didn't say anything but alot of people said its eaiser to see the baby or something? awe, thank you for that, good luck to you too.

Asutori - Tuesday, 13 May
They are indeed! I have seen some other cuter convertibles but the pricing is crazy... I suspect these ones are not as bad in pricing but I will need to do some more digging. I like the darker finish as well, and for you especially with the medium floor, I definitely would go white or dark; two mismatching lighter finishes would drive me nuts, haha! From the picture online, I don't like that lighter "wood" finish but I don't know what the stains look like. *sigh* Now I'm getting excited again!

Asutori - Tuesday, 13 May
Oh and my ceilings are not that high... about 9 feet... I've already talked to them and they can custom make it to your specs.

Asutori - Tuesday, 13 May
LOL, I totally agree. I think while they are still small and have no choice, I will stick to our styling moreso than go super kid-ish. And kids get sick of themes quickly (especially if they are anything like me when I was little). Neutral is best and more flexible for whatever can happen. I also do actually like a lot of the IKEA kid stuff (moreso accessories) that are fun and colorful for when they do get older though... it's cheap so it won't be a total waste when they grow out of the little chairs and desks or if they decide to color all over them or something! The crib style I like so far is this one: http://www.morigeau.com/collections.php?Langue=2&Section=3&Collection=9000 (the first crib in that light colour... not sure about the finish but I like more modern styles and I like how it looks as a toddler bed and adult bed in comparison to some that are more country or classic styled...)
...but I'm not sure what it's like in person and I also don't know the pricing, so I have to find a store that sells it to check the actual quality and see if it's also a rip off :/

I actually did find some really cute decals of animals that are more modern/graphic-like that I really really liked, but again, I'm really iffy about doing a whole themed room. I like the tree decal that I sent you because whether boy or girl, if they like it when they get older, they can pretend they're in a forest or something while playing and it can get their imaginations going.

I think I will probably get a stroller online, like on ebay i've seen good deals for brand-new ones... as long as you know the brand and model you want (and obviously pick a reputable seller), you can get some really good deals out there!

Asutori - Tuesday, 13 May
We are totally alike then! I don't mind spending extra for quality either and I agree that all this baby stuff is totally overpriced when you can just buy something else better for cheaper. In terms of furniture, I will also be buying a convertible crib and otherwise, a baby really doesn't need anything else. I won't be getting a change table because... in a sense I don't really believe in them, lol... a floor or bed is safer for changing, plus I have a big bathroom with tons of counter space if I needed. I know you can get convertible change tables as well but I think they're a rip off. I am really excited about decorating the room though... I just want it to be fresh, airy, and not cluttered. I also am going to be ordering a large decal for the room walls rather than painting it. They last up to 7 or 8 years, so by the time they get old enough to decide what they like, you can just peel it off and move along. I've picked out a neat one that is gender neutral, not overly childish but still sweet for a baby room (http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=120159410630)

I've been using ConsumerReports.com as a source for baby things to buy; I have a subscription because I'm obsessed with researching everything and anything. Clothing and accessories on the other hand... there is no stopping this girl with that!!

asutori - Monday, 12 May
I haven't decided whether I'm going to register for gifts yet... but it would be a good idea and I will definitely take your advice on picking items wisely and for things that will be more useful over a longer timespan. Generally with anything though, people always end up getting us gift certificates or money... our friends and family think that we're picky even though we're not, so they just play it safe. (Ok, maybe we are a bit picky but we like to buy nice things!)
About a week after we found out we were pregnant, we went out and "test drove" strollers and picked out our crib already, lol. I can't wait to decorate the baby's room!! Just to be safe, we probably won't start that until a month or two before (even with buying things), but I wish I could start now. Have you picked any of that stuff out yet?

swisscheese50 - Monday, 12 May
Hey thanks for letting me know... I'm always trying to find good deals on things. :) I hate to waste money on things. Congrats on your lil one!

asutori - Saturday, 10 May
Awww, ya I think having a girl would be so much fun. And a ton of baby stuff that I like is more feminine looking, but I think it's only cause we're girls too and I like girly things. To be honest, I am pretty certain that mine will be a girl... not that I'm psychic in any way, but my gut feeling is so strong. LOL, watch that I'm totally wrong too, haha! But either way, I will be happy as long as it's healthy. At first we were sort of opting to not find out until it's born, but as the pregnancy goes along, I just wanna know now!! But we are planning to not tell anyone even if we do find out so that when we get gifts, they won't be all pink or all blue, that kinda drives me nuts. There are other colors out there people! lol

babywingsfan - Saturday, 10 May
Alena Jewel is a beautiful name... I really like names that aren't commom!! Thanks for the suggestion - Hope all is well!

allyz - Friday, 9 May
Well with brooky i felt like i didnt even really have a child.. it was all like a dream, or should i say a nightmare lol.. my water broke at 4 am and i was in labour for 8 hours before they did an emergency c section because she was stuck in my pelvis, the pain was excrusciating and her heart rate was all over the charts sooo i was freaking out.. they had to put me right under for the c section so when i woke up i was so out of it from 1 morphine, 2 epideral, a spinal and being put under that i didnt even know where i was pretty much.. i didnt get to see brooklynn for 5 hours and it was kind of like.. Oh so this is my baby... kind of like it never really happened. so yeh i wanted to go as natural as possible this time, i want the whole experience of being able to hold them right away and feed them and not feeling like death for 6 weeks after! But dont let my story scare you haha ive heard of c sections going MUCH better than mine... my incision also got infected the following weeks after surgery and started to ooze fluid and blood and puss so i had to go in and they re opened it to drain it.. so i kind of got a bad deal there but yes, as natural as possible i was hoping... but a planned c section will do as well.. at least then i KNOW im getting one and i wont have all the previous drugs in me and i can better prepare myself.

oh my goodness i defiantely know what you mean with headaches and allergies... i cant even step outside or have our windows open without sneezing and rubbing my eyes.. ive been trying to steer clear of allergy meds but its getting to the point that i cant leave my house so i got a book with all the meds safe to take while pregnant and it said Claritin is safe so i might go get some if it keeps up.
As for back to back babies i know im crazy.. i went through this 1 month phase of wanting another baby so we were trying and then i decided i wanted to wait for awhile but BOOM i was pregnant already.. i didnt even know until i was 7 weeks because i had some bleeding which was mistaken for my period so yeh.. long story short here i am 3 months preggo with a 9 month old on the go! haha its ok i keep telling myself it will all be worth it and they can grow up together... hopefully be friendly to one another! So have you guys picked out any names yet??
where abouts are you guys located if you dont mind me asking??

allyz - Friday, 9 May
hey heather! yeh i'm so stressed about it... i talked to my doctor about it and she said she sees no harm in it as long as there wasnt any complications last time but i dunno.. im worried, like whats the point of carrying the baby for 9 months only to put him or her at risk in the end and possibly lose them?? however she also said i shouldn't get another c section unless i absolutely need it because it will put me at risk for my next pregnancy.. so yeh ive been researching it alot and the stats are pretty low only like a o.2% chance of rupturing but i still have my doubts.. but anyways... my pregnancy has gone pretty well so far... ALOT more tired this time around but thats probably due to chasing a 9 month old around the house all day! but my sickness has been gone for awhile.. i get light headed and nausiated once in awhile but nothing bad.. we had a doc appt last monday and heard the heart beat so all is well in that department.. we go in 6 weeks for the 18 week ultrasound to find out the sex hopefully!! we're both hoping for a boy this time but either way we're excited!!.. how has everyting been going for you??? i remember with my first i was always so concerned and asked a million questions to anyone that had baby.. any little cramp or wierd feeling i was certain something was wrong lol, but in the end everything was fine!!.. anyways this is turning into an essay and brooklynn is waking up from her nap... till next time.. allyson!

asutori - Thursday, 8 May
I just read her profile, that's pretty interesting! I actually am pretty sure my little Bean is a girl... I've known it since before being pregnant and it's not because I want a girl more than a boy, it's just that ... I know! I've had many vivid dreams about it and it's just a feeling in my gut. My family and hubby also think it's a girl... the only one that thinks it's a boy is my mother in law and I suspect it's only because she had one son and that's just her experience. Do you have any gut feelings on what you'll have?

Asutori - Wednesday, 7 May
What a beautiful couple! You look gorgeous Heather! : ) That's gonna be one cute baby...

augustbabe - Sunday, 4 May
Hey! Congrats on the baby! How are you feeling? The time has flown by for me...I hope you are enjoying it all :)

Kandace - Saturday, 3 May
Unfortunetly they didn't give me the neck measurement but I should be getting the results back next week so I'm anxious. I will definetly let you know. =)

Kandace - Saturday, 3 May
Thanks for the comment, I was really excited to see the baby and it actually looked like a baby (ha ha). The heart rate was 164 beats per minute. We were also able to see 4 fingers and a thumb. They ran all the first trimester screening/testing but we won't get the results for 7-10 days but I pray everything is ok and healthy. How are you doing?

HillaryB - Friday, 2 May

Asutori - Thursday, 1 May
After talking about bumps and Bella Bands, my tummy has grown quite a bit. I talked to my mom and she says it runs in the family to show early and quickly (I pretty much have my mom's body too so I probably will end up just like her, which is totally not a bad thing... people think we're sisters!) I'm glad you enjoyed your trip, it looks and sounds like you had a great time! And it's always nice to be around family nowadays with the bump coming out. I've had a few people touch my belly (with permission of course, althought that might change as we get bigger) and each time I just giggle. I still giggle when my hubby talks to my belly, even though I know the little guy can't hear anything yet. The baby did move around quite a bit but the tech was so busy trying to get measurements I wasn't able to really get a good long look at it, but I'm getting a private U/S done tomorrow, so it will be more for our enjoyment then for diagnosis. I will also be getting pics to post and a video as well. Woohoo!

Asutori - Thursday, 1 May
So sweet! You guys are so cute : )

Kandace - Thursday, 1 May
Aww, what a cute picture. =)

Kandace - Thursday, 1 May
That is great...I am so glad you had a fun time. The m/s is slowly improving (I think?). Keep in touch, I'm going to check out your pictures now. I love new pictures.

Asutori - Tuesday, 29 April
Hi girl ;) So my ultrasound went great! I didn't get any pics :( but I have booked some private sessions to get pics and videos for each trimester. The heartbeat was strong at 161 and my Bean is about 2.8 inches long, so they think I'm actually at 13 weeks and 1 day. I have a doc appt. this coming Friday, so I will see if they agree with this estimate, as then my due date may get bumped up by 5 days or so (Nov. 2nd?) My hubby and I were soooo excited and he was especially thrilled to see all it's appendages, haha! I had to hold back the tears because I was so happy to see it and so relieved to know that I am in fact pregnant, lol, and that's it doing well. I hope your trip is going awesome, ttys!

Kandace - Sunday, 27 April
Where are you going on vacation? I am jealous...I need a vacation so bad. So how are you feeling? You seem to be doing great so far (lucky for you). I am so ready to be past the first trimester. I have my first trimester screening on Tuesday so I am excited to get those results. I hope you have a great vacation and don't forget to post pics of your bump. =)
