February 13, 2008

Well, I am 29 years old and the mother of 3 beautiful children. 11 year old boy, 8 1/2 year old girl and a 3 year old girl. I am currently 5 weeks pregnant and due October 18th. All of my babies are quite large when born so this one being large won't be a shocker. My son was a week late and weighed 9.9 and was 23 inches long. Daughter was induced a day early and was 8 lbs and 20 1/2 inches. Youngest daughter was 3 days late and induced, weighed 9.4 and was 21 1/2 inches long. Just once I would like to see what it felt like to have a small 7 lb baby. Oh well! I'm blessed with no morning sickness for any of them so I can deal with the big 'uns!

A little more about me. After my second daughter I had a tubal ligation which was reversed 4 years later. It obviously worked and I got pregnant for my beautiful 3 year old daughter. We got pregnant on the first try even though we were told it may take up to a year.

Since my reversal, I am considered high risk for ectopic pregnancies due to the surgery on my tubes. I found out I was pregnant with this one on 2/6 (I was due for my menses on the 7th). I have not had an ultrasound with this one yet, but we did have lab work done and my levels nearly quadrupled in two days. My labs were done on 2/8 and then on 2/11. They went from 330 to 1290..so that is a good sign that it's not ectopic. I go to the dr Monday, 2/18 and hopefully will have an US to confirm it is in the uterus.

Thanks for listening!!!!

Well, I went to my Dr's appt and it confirmed it was in the uterus...all is well. I go have another ultrasound on Wednesday, March 5...I will be 7 1/2 weeks when I have this one done. This time to see and hear the heartbeat. YAY!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

March 5, 2008

I had my u/s today and got to see and hear the baby's heartbeat. All is well. The little beans heartbeat was going at 162 bpm.

I found this website from another mom-to-be on this site. I thought it was pretty interesting. This is what my reading said...can't say it is correct but the size of the kid would fit right in with my others. LOL

http://pregnancyandbaby. com/pregnancy/baby/Madame-Zaritska-predicts-your-birth-experience-736. htm

Madame Zaritska, our resident clairvoyant, wants to help you prepare for the arrival of your child. Here she does her best to predict certain aspects of your labor and birth experience.

What she senses for you
The day you deliver, outside will be windy. Your baby will arrive at night.

After a labor lasting approximately 6 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 10 pounds, 6 ounces, and will be 19 inches long. This child will have blue eyes and be almost bald.

But there is more. I sense that there are some ideas and emotions you cannot quite put a finger on. I suggest you read through a few of these pregnancy diaries to see how other expectant mothers have felt at this special time.

I went for my Dr's appt today. I actually have lost weight!!! YAY me! According to my second appt-where I had gained three pounds that my husband and I attributed to the heavy clothing I was wearing because it was cold...I have lost 4 lbs from that time....1 lb if you go by what I weighed at my first appt though.

The dr couldn't find the heartbeat with the doppler. She could hear mine, so I told her if she doesn't find the baby's soon the one she does here is going to get a lot faster. She still couldn't so I told her to check my blood pressure because I was getting nervous. She said she would let me have an u/s to ease my mind. Before I went we talked about whether I was going to breastfeed, have an epidural, was I in classes...then she said, oh this is your 4th, you could teach the class. HAHA

Anyways, I go get m u/s and the little thing was just a beating away..the u/s lady said that I have some kind of placenta (I can't remember the name) that is attached to the uterus at the top...where you want it but it makes it hard to hear the heartbeat at first because of the thick lining there. I got a new picture of the little punkin.

I have my next appt on Thursday, May 8 @ 8:30 (I will be 17 weeks) where I will get the gender u/s and the labwork for congenital defects.
YAY me!

Well, I had my 17 wk appt with u/s and it's a GIRL! I thought for sure this one was going to be a boy. This pregnancy is so much like the one with my son (he's my oldest). This makes # 4 for me and this is it. One boy and three girls!!!! Baby's head is measuring at 18 weeks...which is a scary thought thinking of where it's coming out at! LOL Measuring a couple days bigger that 16.5 but that's not uncommon. Only gained 1 lb since I got pregnant....YAY ME! I credit this to my treadmill and portion control!

I've scanned in some pics for you to view. The first one is her showing us she's a girl! One leg on the left and the other on the right...her lack of boy goodies are in the middle!

This one is a profile picture with her fingers in her mouth. Head on the left.

Last but not least, this is another profile...her head is on the left.

Went to my 5 month Dr's appt today. I've gained 5 lbs in one month but only a total of 6, which I know isn't all that bad. I'm at less weight gain now than I was with my youngest at this gestation in the pregnancy, so that is a plus. It was my last appt with my absolute favorite Dr. She is leaving to work at a different clinic in a town about an hour away from me. We were both very sad at the end of the appt.

I explained to her how I need more confirmation that the unborn is a girl since I was never completely convinced. My gender u/s was at 16.5 weeks and I'm afraid it may be a boy and just hadn't had his "stuff" drop yet, ya know?? So I have another u/s scheduled at my 6 month appt on June 27. At this appt I also have to drink the orange glucose drink so they can check for gestational diabetes. That drink is so disgusting..I'm not looking forward to it.

Other than this, there is nothing more to report.

June 25, 2008

Well, I had to call the doctor today...at my husband's request. I was up from 1:00 a.m. vomitting with diarrhea and had SEVERE stomach pains. Almost like contractions. It felt like someone stabbed me in my gut and was pulling it across. VERY PAINFUL! Anyways, I went in to see the nurse practitioner and she had to check me to make sure the severe vomitting didn't force dialation...it didn't. Baby's heart beat was good and so was my blood pressure. She said I likely had a virus, food poisoning or was cramping from the beginning of dehydration. I didn't eat or drink anything all day long. The moment I would put some water in my mouth I would want to vomit. It wasn't pretty. Regardless, she said she would feel better if I left the office at least one bag of fluids up so they put in an IV and got that into me. I felt better by the time we left. It was a long day to say the least.

I still have my appt Friday with my doctor and will get the u/s as scheduled. Thank goodness.

I am back at work today and very tired from the anti-nausea meds (Phenegren) they sent me home with. I did get a very restful nights sleep (10 hours) but am a bit groggy this morning. I will update more when I get my u/s Friday.

Well, I had my appt and posted all of this in my blog to the right but thought I would put it here too. Had my appt Friday and my sweet Olivia Leigh, is exactly that...a definite girl. The tech gave me a quick 4D u/s and it was amazing. I was considering to get one but wasn't sure. Well, seeing my baby rubbing her nose then eyes was amazing and definitely sold me on the 4D and spending the $200 to get the first pics of my sweet girl. She is absolutely perfect! She is rather big already, which is no surprise, she is measuring that of a 26 weeker and weighs 1 lb 11oz already...should be just over a lb. The doctor won't move my due date up since I just "grow em big" as he put it. LOL Which is fine with me since I know when I got pregnant and have never went into labor early am determined this baby will come out closer to Halloween than around her due date of Oct 17.

My hubby and I have a bet going (we bet on everything to make the outcome more interesting). I think she will be smaller than my other kids but he says I win if she comes out after Oct 12 (which is when he thinks she will be born) and weighs less than 8.9 (I think she will be high 7's even though all of my other kids were considerably more). He thinks she will be closer to 9.8. I guess only time will tell.

July 16, 2008

Nothing really to report, just really bored. My sweet Olivia is so active. I go next Wednesday for my 4D u/s, 28 wk appt, and then to register with anesthesia at the hospital. Being able to register with anesthesia is a milestone for me...means things are getting closer. Not only that, after this appt I should be seeing the dr every two weeks. Last appt he said we could probably wait till 32 weeks along since I have text book pregnancies but I want my 2 week appts. It's another milestone! LOL It gives me more opportunities to monitor my weight and feel the progression that labor isn't that far away. Very exciting times.

Sleeping has started getting to be more of a chore. When I can fall asleep it's not for long because I either have to get up to pee (which really isn't that often for some reason) or just because I'm so uncomfortable or hot. Getting in and out of bed and rolling over is like a 12 step process for me these days. To roll over my body involuntarily lets out a grunt...it's actually kind of funny but not. Last night I woke up at 3:30 and couldn't get comfortable. My back hurt on the lower right side. The only way I could get the pain to stop is to lay on my back but then the baby is uncomfortable and starts kicking and moving like crazy. So who can sleep at that point. Regardless, this is my 4th child and I've been through this before..after my sweet girl is here I know I will miss it.

July 17, 2008

Well, today is my last day in week 26 and it is a doozy! My hormones are crazy! I can't stop crying. I cried the whole way in to work this morning, stopping long enough to take my daughter into daycare but then broke down once I got into her classroom. Luckily, one of her teachers is 16 weeks pregnant and the other has kids so they at least know what I am going through. It's crazy because none of my other pregnancies were this bad with the roller coaster hormones. My poor husband and kids. I don't mean to snap at them or take it out on them but I can't help it. Luckily he is damn near perfect...even though he snaps back sometimes, he does try to comfort me when I let him know it's not him..it's me and I have no control over it. As I'm typing this...my eyes are welling up. This is incredible!!!

Women are allowed to just cry for no reason right? I mean...we take on a lot during our days that we just push behind us, not thinking that it is stress or something that may bother us later but I guess maybe after enough has piled on...we just break down. I mean, I have no idea what set this "roller coaster" off but I do know that I haven't had a really good cry in a long time. Every time I start, I stop it for whatever reason. Tonight I have a date with my jacuzzi tub so I can just let it all out. I think that will help. The fact that I've cried for the past hour or so, has made my eyes very heavy and now I'm sleepy. I see this day at work being a short one unless I can shake this.

Lots of wishes that the rest of our days are "hormone-less"!

lawgirls - Friday, 8 August
thank you so much for responding. did you need to get an extra pad or was the original pad sufficient?

lawgirls - Friday, 8 August

melizondo - Friday, 8 August
i remember when lauren was about 18 months old and i was standing at my kitchen window and saw a truck with two parents staring across the street at the school bus drop off when we used to live across from an elementary school and they had apparently followed the bus to school to watch their child go out at the school and i stood there and cried realizing one day it would be my turn and this morning it happened.....:( can't believe how time has passed SOOOO QUICKLY! she got home today and was just as excited as when i dropped her off this morning. thanks for the comment, helps to hear i am not alone

derra1976 - Thursday, 7 August
I sleep propped up in the bed, but my nose gets stopped up because I get to hot in the bed room. So I end up on the couch. I normally love my bed and sleep really well in it!

derra1976 - Thursday, 7 August
Well that makes for a really long day!! Yeah my couch is my most comfy spot too. I end up sleeping there alot lately, just because I sleep better there. It's always cooler in our living room then in our bedroom at night for some strange reason. I can't figure that out!!

derra1976 - Thursday, 7 August
Yeah I have to move around ALOT to try and get comfortable. It just stinks!!

derra1976 - Thursday, 7 August
I did talk to her about me going part time, but she said she couldn't write me up for that. So that might be something I just have to talk with my employer about.

I'm sorry you are hurting today. My back isn't too bad, yet, but by the end of the day it will be. My right hip is a little sore right now because I just had to get that Rhogam shot. I'm O negative, so yay for me I get a shot in the booty!!

And how funny, I had a chili dog the day before yesterday and man was it good. I think I inhaled it!!

derra1976 - Thursday, 7 August
Well I'm back from my check up. And I've gained 6 pounds in 4 weeks!!! But she said most of that is probably fluid and that I shouldn't worry too much about it. We talked about me swelling and stuff, but my blood pressure was good, so they aren't worried about anything. She agreed that it's probably the heat!! Baby's heartbeat was 154, so very good!! I'm measuring right at 29 weeks, so that's good. I told her that if one more person tells me how big I am that I was going to smack them, and she said well you are all baby, so I should be thankful!! Anyway, I go back in 3 weeks, then every 2 weeks. I thought it was 2 weeks after this, but I guess I was wrong.

How you feeling today?

NorthWave - Thursday, 7 August
Well I got my 2 first stretch marks about 4 days ago i think... but they are inthe middle on my lower part of my belly... so they are hard to see :) I don't care really... I mean it's for a good cause :):)

kaycie1 - Thursday, 7 August
your belly looks like mine. i am 28 weeks. this is my fourth baby too, and i just had a baby a year and 4 months ago! my body is pregnancy tired too..lol. one thing i can say though is that i am taking everything in stride. i am not to anxious this time around, i am going to kind of miss nbeing pregnant, if it didnt hurt me so bad to be pregnant i would have a couple more. well i hope everything goes well for u.

MommyToGirls - Thursday, 7 August
Oh my gosh, that is awful. I've heard that if they cut you it is better than tearing, you're right - easier to stitch up. Either way, that's gotta hurt!!! Especially to pee, youch! At least with a c-section incision it kind of hurts all the time, but not as bad as tearing I'm sure!

Yeah, I thought my hubby would pass out, but he was standing up taking pictures of the whole thing. I said I never want to look at those pictures. Well the ones with the guts in them! sick.

Lets hope we BOTH have better labours this time!!!

tamara4843 - Thursday, 7 August
I didn't expect to gain too much weight through this pregnancy because I was gaining it so slowly up until about 22 weeks . . . then in seven weeks, I gained about 15! So far, I've put on a little more than 25. I'm trying not to fret about the weight because I know I'm healthy and the baby's doing well. I really don't know where the weight has gone because my maternity clothes that I bought three months ago still fit! I'm convinced that this baby is made of lead or something - I don't see the weight anywhere else!

Meanwhile, pregnancy looks great on you! It looks like you're all belly!

anxiousfirst - Thursday, 7 August
oook so this is normal?? its so uncomfortable!

anxiousfirst - Thursday, 7 August
oook so this is normal?? its so uncomfortable!

MommyToGirls - Wednesday, 6 August
oh my gosh, that sounds awful what you went through last time!!! I've never had stitches, except for the c-section ones, and just looking at those made me want to pass out. I'd have to get hubby to look at my incision to make sure it was ok, if I did I get hot and sweaty and almost pass out! same thing when my daughter broke her arm! Funny thing is I work for an ER dr. Luckily he doesn't tell his stories to us! But my c-section didn't look like it does on tv though, hubby said they took out my guts and put them on my stomach, he was like "what the *%$". sick!

I pushed for over an hour, but gave up cuz my tailbone and neck hurt so bad. She was coming out sunny-side up and her head got stuck. You could see her hair when I pushed, but then when I stopped it would go back in. They tried the vacuum on her, but it kept popping off cuz she had so much hair!

So I hope this one is facing the right way and not quite as big then it'll be easier. Plus I had that stupid strep B last time, so it was hard to walk the halls with the darn IV!!!

oh the pain and suffering these babies put us through! good thing they're so darn cute!!!

MMVAMH - Wednesday, 6 August
Thanks for the response..... You actually explained it a lot better then me and thats exactly what I felt!!! WOW, my first BH!! I cant believe it!!!!! Its kinda exciting... it lets me know Im that much closer!!!! THANKS again!

MommyToGirls - Wednesday, 6 August
that's good that you're measuring average as well. I don't want another c-section, that's why I'm hoping for another 8 pounder instead. I'm a slow healer so when I had my c-section last time it took almost 3 months to feel normal. I was crying while I was crawling up the stairs to go to the washroom, it was awful. Plus how am I supposed to lift a 17 month old and a newborn if I have a c-section again? I'm so nervous about that! I'd rather have a sore bum than being cut open.

Did you have c-sections last time at all?

MommyToGirls - Wednesday, 6 August
I had my dr. app't today too, I asked her if it looks like another big baby and she said it's measuring average - so far it looks like an 8 lb baby instead of a 10 lb baby. So that's good, hopefully it won't change too much!

3 lbs isn't bad for your weight gain. I've been at about a pound a week, trying to keep it there.

I have to take that GD drink sometime in the next week. Have you had to take that due to having big babies too?

cherryzz - Wednesday, 6 August
Yea Im so hoping. Im ready when ever she is. Hopefully sooner then later.
Sleeping is almost impossible now. I know shes my first, and most of the time with first babies they go past 40 weeks. I mean my body is NOT liking being 30 weeks!

cherryzz - Wednesday, 6 August
Yea Im only 5 feet, so I think that wouls make us about the sam.. hehe..
I gained over 30 lbs..
Ehh He's a jerk, but whatever. I keep telling his, he's gonna cause me to go into labor early.. but that doesn't stop his assholeness. I think hes got multiple personalities really!
I have That Level 2 Ultrasound next weeks to find out about Her kidneys. But Shes deffinitly thriving in there! She's in constant motion!

Im not sure if this means anything but, I just have this feeling that Im not going to last until week 40. It's just this gut feeling. And the other night, I DREAMNT that I had my "bloody show".
I mean when I had the feeling I was having a girl I was right.. so I dont know.

cherryzz - Wednesday, 6 August
I had my appt, yesterday! I gained 3 lbs also. But My last one was 4 weeks ago. Im at 146 lbs now.. And I feel huge.. haha
