Well glad to hear things are doing great with you and your family. And Im jealous about you getting your laptop lol. I want one! Also thats cool you get free internet.. I wanted to get a chip for ours to get free wifi internet. Thats what my little cousin that lives down the apt buildings did. My camera is so messed up right now.. I have no idea who messed with it or what happened but the pics come out dark and kinda blurry so I have to get a new one. I want that coolpix touchscreen one so hopefully I get that for Christmas lol. Well I was so happy to hear from you. Keep in touch and take care.

Thanks! We tried the boppy but it only fits in the bassinet sideways. It would fit perfectly in the crib but its still so soon to put him in it. I know your not supposed to let them sleep in the boppys but it is the only way I can get some rest sometimes! I will try out your suggestions though, hopefully something will work for us!!

ashleymarie0385 - Friday, 24 October
Glad you are getting a routine going and getting some rest! I still can't get him to sleep in the bassinet for more than and hour at a time. He has been constipated at gassy though so I think it hurts for him to be flat on his back. Still sleeping on the couch with him on the boppy or on my chest. He sleeps for 2 or 3 hours straight which is great because he falls right back asleep after his feedings so I am getting 6 or so hours of sleep. Just not in the bed or with him where he should be and is safer. I just can't let him cry in the bassinet knowing he is in pain, so I am hoping we can resolve his tummy issues and get a better routine going. Hope all is well today with you and the little one!

ashleymarie0385 - Thursday, 23 October
THank you so much! I am going to try it today! I was so afraid to wake him up, I didn't think about the extra sleep we could get at night. It makes perfect sense though and I appreciate the advice!

BabyGonzales - Sunday, 19 October
I also have my drive back but we havent done it yet. We just do alot of 4play lol. Im kinda scared to do it.. I feel ready but then again I dont. Like the only time it still hurts down there is if I sneeze or cough lol. So maybe Im not healed all the way. Glad you drank and had fun. I was just telling James(hubby) that I want to drink tonight and he can watch the kiddo lol but then again I dont want to drink. I think Im just going to wait til he is a little bit older. Last night Gabriel slept pretty well. He woke up at 1am to feed, which didnt bother me since I was already up and went to bed right after putting him back to sleep. He then woke up at 4:45am and then again at 7:45 so it wasnt so bad like in the beginning, which was like every 2 hours lol. Oh and about your pics.. I havent really got to see them because everytime I try my computer is stupid and wont let me.. stupid cheap shit lol. So that sux cause I know you have tons of pics in your album. Well I was so happy to hear from you. Talk to you later and take care

BabyGonzales - Tuesday, 14 October
Ha I do the same thing. I try giving him the paci before feeding him because Im too lazy to go downstairs. I sometimes almost fall asleep while feeding him. Well get some rest.

BabyGonzales - Tuesday, 14 October
Cancer stick lol. Gabriel was the same way at first.. he only wanted to be next to me and not in his bassinet. Now hes finally getting use to it and been sleeping in it for the past 4-5 nights. Right now hes just having some tummy time on the couch and falling asleep that way lol. I actually slept okay last night. He ate at 10 last night and woke up at 2:45 to eat and then again at 5:45 so it wasnt so bad. Well glad to hear from you once again. Ttyl!

BabyGonzales - Monday, 13 October
Ya I wasnt going to give you the details on the circ. lol.. Oh and about the pointing his wee wee down lol ya I didnt know either but I read it on a booklet his doc gave me. Luckily I had been pointing it down anyways. There was probably one night where I was really sleepy and may have pointed it up because when he woke to eat his clothes were all wet lol. Gabriel kept me up last night. He slept but would also whine in between and it seemed that everytime I would fall asleep I would get woken up right away. I was soooo tired this morning waking up but then my honey called and woke me up even more so Im up now lol. Well hope you slept well last night. Ttyl and love ya.

maryw - Monday, 13 October
sounds like a great plan! i'm really glad you found something that's working for you... way to stick with it. i know it's hard, but you sound determined. and it will pay off. you won't be sorry!
i'm glad your hubby is staying home. I can't imagine doing all of this alone! Yeah, i think you're right- fighting is a defense mechanism. 6 months is a long time to be away from a spouse. people handle it differently.
keep in touch- let me know how things work out. :)

mumofsix - Sunday, 12 October
Sorry to have taken so long replying. Persevere is all I can say. Often the first few weeks can be very painful. Even with my sixth baby, it took a good three weeks before feeding was comfortable. If baby gets hungry enough and you do not offer a bottle, he will eventually latch on and fight for the beast milk. It may just take some hard work for a few days.
Don't feel guilty, if all else fails and you can't get baby to latch on again, he will still thrive on a bottle and you will still get the closeness when bottle feeding but it definitely worth trying to get him to latch on again.

BabyGonzales - Saturday, 11 October
Sorry you guys were up all night. I just woke up and this morning when changing him he peed all over my sheets and comforter lol. I didnt circumsize him because I saw this video on how they do it and omg I cried my eyes out. I felt so bad and couldnt put my baby through that. At first I was going to but we changed our minds after that. I lost my weight but I still have a kangaroo patch lol ugh. I hate it! Well talk to you later.. gonna get something to eat.

maryw - Saturday, 11 October
(I started this last night- sorry it took me so long!) I see your hubby is in the navy. is he home? how much time does he spend away? Military wives astound me- spending so much time alone, I just don't think I could ever do it.
anyway- it sounds like you're doing everything right, and so is your little boy. Which is good! if the ONLY problem is that he's lazy, that's good- latch problems are hard to fix sometimes. if there is a way you can track his weight to see if he's gaining, you could exclusively breast feed, even if he refuses to eat for 7 hours- 7 hours isn't horrible. he won't starve in that amount of time. the key is to monitor him over a course of a week or so of breastfeeding, and just make sure he's gaining.
You could call someone from La Leche League, or ask the lactation consultant that observes you. But what I would do is breastfeed whenever he takes it, and if he goes really long, and gets upset, feed him pumped milk, but not with a bottle.. i used a medicine dropper and a spoon. this way he will get the food, but it doesn't involve sucking so he won't get used to a fast flow. just give him enough so that he's not crying and try the breast again. he's young enough that this should be successful. i know it's hard, but hang in there. breastfeeding is so rewarding, and it gets SO much easier.

BabyGonzales - Saturday, 11 October
Glad to hear yall are doing good. I got the baby blues but its gone now.. thank god. Dont want to be depressed any longer lol. My babys cord fell off at 4 days and at first I was worried about it but its better now. I didnt get him circumsized(sp?) so my baby has a little elephant trunk hehe. Hes starting to sleep in his bassinet at night now. At first he wanted to sleep with us in our bed and I thought I would be stuck with him there but hes been good. I gave him his first bath already and he hated it lol. My sister just had her baby yesterday so it will be really cool that our little boys will be realy close in age. Im mostly formula feeding now but Ive been tryin to breast feed and he wont latch on right and just screams his head off because he cant latch it so I pump but its not enough so I formula. Im thinking Im just going to go with the formula only though. I also get wic and glad since the formula is so expensive. We were buying the formula for the first 2 weeks and its alot of money. Well glad to hear from you... OH and just curious, have you lost the baby weight yet? Im so happy I lost it and plus another 7lbs Well talk to you again soon. Luv ya!

BabyGonzales - Friday, 10 October
Hey Miss Thang lol How are you and the family doing? I miss chit chattin with ya lol. So you are breast feeding the little one? How is he sleeping at night?

libbaby4 - Friday, 10 October
Sounds like you are doing everything you are supposed to! The only other thing that kind of sucks about breastfeeding is that you have to make sure you eat enought calories. If you don't, you won't make as much milk either. So, try to eat enough as well! Hang in there.

maryw - Thursday, 9 October
he probably likes the bottle because it's faster. do you want to keep bottle feeding? even if you beast feed every other feeding it will keep your supply up. and it will give him more latch practice. how old is he? once they get a hang of it latching becomes so much easier and your milk supply will go up, and he won't mind it once the flow is faster. pumping and getting bottles ready is twice the work for you.. i'd say try to ease him back into breastfeeding. when it's his only option, he may be more receptive. that is, if it's what you want to do. it took my daughter and i 4 solid weeks of breastfeeding hell before it became easy. but it's great now and SO much easier and less time consuming than pumping, washing the pump, bottle feeding, washing the bottles, etc...

maryw - Thursday, 9 October
when i pumped for a few days because of cracked nipples, i got less and less each time i pumped. the pump isn't as efficient as baby. my dr. said double what a pump gets out, and that's how much the baby gets when in the breast. are you only pumping or feeding from the breast as well?

libbaby4 - Thursday, 9 October
Hey hun, drink loads and loads of water!! Also, if your body is fatigued, it will not produce as much milk. Milk production is not vital to your bodies existence, so your body takes care of it's primary needs first and then uses the left over energy for making milk. Give it a little bit, and see how it goes. Your baby is going through a growth spurt probably. Also, I mixed formula with breast milk with my second one to make the breast milk "go further." Take care! Good to hear from you again! I've been wondering how you were doing.

amber325 - Thursday, 9 October
I saw your comment about pumping. I am in the same boat as you. I can only get around 2 oz total each time I pump. Let me know if youget any good answers :0)
