Hey, nothing here yet!

Tuesday, 19 Feb

I had a previous account here, but had to cancel it after constant threats from not-so-friendly members. Anywho, I`m currently 20 weeks (even though this site still has me at week 19). On Monday, February 4, we found out that we re having a boy! Daddy (who is a pro wrestler) is very happy to have a son he can train later on. We`re naming him Jackson Owen. Jackson doesn`t move very much yet, although he gets very happy when I eat Italian food (especially pizza).

i sorry to hear you son has coloic t sucks my 1st had it,, but you will survie .. let me tell you it took me 4 yrs to have another in fear of having another colicy baby.. though i have to say you willl surive this and when you finally see the light outside the crying you will lokk back at this and know you can do anything if you can survie this..
best thing i can say is put in in a sunglie and carry him every where get out of the house and push him around everyday it helps with the screaming you get less sleep but more sanity ... routuine routine rountie with colic babies... also i got an herbal tea at the time called skull cap i used to steep the water and use it in the bottles and it helped make my 1st sleep and helped with gas.. also fenal tea natural herb is something you can use to and grip water helps with wind...

i understand the part about your hubby not being around .. cause you atleast have one that helps .. my hubby with my 1st ran and stasrted drinking even more and was never aorund till i finally realized i dint need him .. and he shaped up now i have a 2nd with him and he still the same ass. lol men... hey please dont hestite to vent on me if you need it :)

You poor thing! My first had colic. I only have a little advice. First, if someone offers to take him for a while or overnight- LET THEM! It's good for both of you (of course these have to be very trustworthy people who can handle a crying baby). Make sure you have a good swing and don't be afraid to use it to death. Also, The Happiest Baby on the Block is a fabulous book about soothing baby, esp colicky babies. Here is a link to probably the most important page in the book: http://www.colichelp.com/shop/happiestbabyontheblock.html
They also have DVD in case you don't have time to read.
Colic changes everything- house can be messy, dinner can be fast food, etc- you may end up in survival mode like my husband and I did.

Good luck and let me know if you find any other little tricks to help!

Bless your heart. I think Edyn has it too. We go to the dr Monday and I am praying there will be something that will help. I have been reading about it can be caused by air in the intestines and how there are prescription meds out there to help. What did your dr do to narrow it down to colic? I'm asking because I keep thinking Edyn just has some bad gas problems. Sometimes she is so content and I think she can't have colic and then one second later she is inconsolable. Did your dr offer any good advice? I will be praying for you!!!!!! There has to be something out there to help. And, yes, I am babbling, it's from my sleep deprivation.

Thanks for your comment back about getting your tubes tied. Timothy was my 3rd child and as much as i would love to have another on eventually the way things are getting to be now a days and the prices of things it's hard enough to be able to afford 3 at this time so i decided to go a head and have them tied.... I look at it as if we really really want another child later on we could alway do IVF to get pregnant or i could always have the clamps removed.... Anyway i appriciate your in put. My son is now 3 weeks and 2 days old and I couldn't be happier with my life as a mother of 3 even tough sometimes my older kids drive me nuts *lol* but that's what being a mother is all about Huh? Congrats on your new baby boy and the pooping thing my doctors told me it common for babies as young as ours not to poop but every 3 or 4 days.... Good Luck with your new little man and on and once again CONGRATS he's so cute.....

hey sweetz. i had an emergency c section myself a couple of days ago and they fed my baby formula too. without my permission. To add to my woes, she was in the neo natal icu for about 5 days after that, on account of jaundice. They continued to feed her formula and expressed breast milk using a syringe. so when she came to me, she refused to acknowledge my breast to be anything more than a binkie. she would cry out for hunger. and would not know what to do with my breast when i offered it to her. And i did not have anyone encouraging me to get her to breast feed either. they all accused me of being insensitive to the babys needs and being pigheaded about my views on breast feeding.

Dont worry, the baby and you will get used to each other sooner than you think and she will be feeding happily off you. so keep at it. try just before its time for her to feed. say 15 mins ahead of the schedule. that will give her enough time to toy around with your breasts and figure out it actually giver her some yummy stuff to eat.

let me know how it goes.

I also had a c-section on a Monday at 9 p.m.and my baby was given formula first. I got him the next day, but I wasn't really making any milk yet. I was able to give him at least some colustrum on wednesday, but he was still hungry so I supplemented with some formula. He would cry everytime I would try to breastfeed him because he wasn't getting as much milk as from the bottle, but I kept trying and trying until he suckled so that he would stimulate my breasts. Then I would continue to stimulate them with a breast pump and by saturday that week I was making enough milk, but it does take a long time to breastfeed. Like an hour!

First, don't feel a failure if you are nt breasfeeding. many women don't and their baby turn out just fine. I also saw some really allergic babies who were exclusively breasfed. But you may still be able to start breatsfeeding if you really like to try. I Russia, you often do not get your baby for 3 to 5 days after birth, and they feed him formula. But many women managed to start breasfeeding after this. tThe key is to keep trying. Offer him breast every time before bottle and make him suck for a while. Drink plenty of juices and water and take lots of naps. Your milk should come. And it is still fine to combine bottle and breast.
My baby was 9 lb at birth. I mostly breastfeed him, but sometimes give bottle at night. he drink about 2-4 oz in one go. In hospital they told me to feed abut 3/4-1 oz, but it was because newborn don't eat a lot. Talk with your pediatritian or buy a good book about babies. Good luck!

Oh, I am sorry you are upset. I think you should go get a pedicure and go to lunch and a movie with a girlfriend or something. Maybe that would help you feel better!

saraha - Thursday, 3 July
Don't give up! Be happy you are soon going to have a baby. I am getting down in the dumps too. I think it happens to us all at this point, but I am here offering you encouragement! Sleep while you still can!!!

Thanks for the advice! So i when i suspected that my water broke on wednesday(full moon day) @ 530 am, my bf convinced me that i didnt make it 2 the bathroom on time so i didnt go to the doctor until my scheduled appt @ 10am thatsame morning. And suuuuure enough my water had broken! So i went directly to my hospital (im still here now) and got checked in and i remained 2cm for 29 hours, so they wound up givin me a c section on thursday and @ 5:28pm, my little girl was born!!!!! Her name is Kaylin Rose but we call her "Bunny". She was 6lbs 4oz and 18inches. And perfectly healthy! Ur next!!!

benjamink - Thursday, 19 June
Hi there...I'm so sorry you're feeling badly today. I don't really know what to say except your time will come, but of course you know that already. When baby wants to he will come out and will be perfect because it won't be forced; take a deep breath and be patient and soon you'll have your baby!

Hi! I just saw your comment on the week-to-week comment updates! My husband and I LOVE the name Jack (Although we can't decide whether to name him Jackson and still call him Jack or just name him Jack!) And the middle name is completely up in the air! (A few favorites but nothing in stone) Anyways, love the name! Congrats and best of luck in the next few weeks!

I had the same thing happen to me, so now I get to do a 24 hr urine every week just so they can monitor the level of protein in my urine! FUN FUN...I haven't gotten the results from the one this week but we shall see! I'm sure everything is fine, my blood pressure was up once and they freaked on me and now its fine, and the urine has been good so far. Good luck let me know what happens I will do the same I have an appt tomorrow!

brandilla - Friday, 13 June
I feel for you, regarding the pre-eclampsia. I had the same thing happen two weeks ago. Went to my appointment and my BP was 160/100! They put me on medication and made me do the 24 hour urine collection (NOT fun, by the way...).... It sucks, but good luck! I ended up just having high BP and no pre-eclampsia, so hopefully you will too!

Everytime I get bh which is often they're just not consistent my heart starts to pump faster so I kinda know how you feel.

mdbabyno1 - Sunday, 8 June
I asked about that in my childbirth class and she said it isn't necessarily the same as your mothers labor. I am hoping I follow in my mum's foot steps though... I am the oldest and she had me in 2.5 hours.

angelbabies14 - Thursday, 5 June

My sis in law gets really swollen and swears by drinking lemon juice in her water-doc told her-as much as she can handle (like 2Tbs.)-feel better....I'm in teh same boat. It does seem to help, as well as elevated feet above head (if U can) 3 x a day (I haven't been so faithful with that one)
