10/16/09 ~ I guess it is time to start frequenting this site again! I am right around 5-6 weeks pregnant and very excited! My biggest issue with this pregnancy is deciding on who to go to for our prenatal care and delivery. With Riley we had such a horrible experience with the local hospital that we really want to try a midwife with some alternative to the hospital system. Unfortunatly, we can not find anything like that where we live! I honestly don't even want to go to the doctor, it seemed so pointless my last pregnancy and just cost us thousands of dollars and stress. Having a child is supposed to be one of the best highlights of your life and I really want to enjoy this, especially since this will most likely be our last child. If anyone has any suggestions or advice for me/us on this subject feel free to share!!!

Well, I'm getting a late start at this but oh well! This is my first baby and we are waiting to find out what we are having. It has been fun but sometimes very hard too. I just can't wait for the moment when the doctor goes "Its a GIRL/BOY!!" We still aren't set on a boy's name so it just better be a girl. I am due 2 days after my only neices's 1 year B-Day so we are hoping to be a couple days early. Best of luck to all you other moms out there!

Jan: 24 ~ Ok, so I'm sitting here at work wondering if I can make it another week here without calling in sick everyday until I have the baby. I plan on working up until I go into labor, but sitting on the couch relaxing is sounding better and better! 39 weeks today. I had my first dream last night that was about our baby's sex. I haven't dreamt about it at all until now. I dreamt we were having a boy and when I told Jeff that this morning he said it must mean we are having a girl because I'm always wrong! Such support! I love him to death though and am so thankful that he is the father of my child and I know he will be an amazing dad! I don't know where I would be without him and when I think about what my life could have been if he wasn't around I have to fight back tears. I am also going to try to enjoy these last few days of being prego, even though I can hardly wait any longer, because I know my life will never ever be the same once baby is here!

Oh yay! So excited for you!I had a whole list of questions when I first met our midwife... since we were having a homebirth, most of it was related to that. I think for us the most important thing was knowing she was a certified nurse midwife. She explained everything that would happen in case of an emergency... which really eased my mind about everything! I think just talking, getting to know her personality and seeing how well you mesh is super important too. :)Let me know how it goes for you!!

felt crappy since Tuesday. i went home from work Tuesday and was just exhuasted. Not sure if it was the flu since I didn't have a fever or anything like that, I was just dead tired and a little achy, but not bad, so it probably wasn't the flu.

I don't know when I will see the midwife. I saw the doctor and he has referred me to the midwife, just got to wait for her to call to make an appointment. At least this time we know what we're getting into! lol

OH YAY!!! I'm so excited for you guys! Its such an incredible experience. You'll love it. :) Good luck with the midwife search! I hope you find the perfect one. :)I just had to go see my midwife yesterday to get some fluids. I've been sick non stop for the past 3 days and apparently was extremely dehydrated. Once I got a few bags in, I felt better... so that's good! Pregnancy never has been easy for me. Kind of a bummer. :(Anyway, keep me posted with how the midwife search goes! I'm seriously SO excited for you!!!!!! How are you feeling these days??

Hopeully mine will pass in a couple of weeks! Erica says 'sick bucket' when she sees me reaching for it!! lol. You'll have to keep me updated with how everything goes and will do the same! Do you have to wait until 12 weeks for a scan? With Erica I had to wait until 16 weeks, so not sure when I will get a scan this time round!

Hello, not sure if we are going to find out. I like the suprise of it all, but then I don't know if it is best to be able to get things ready and wether knowing the sex will help us to prepare Erica for having a little brother or sister. Will decide closer to the time I think, won't have a scan for a while though yet, so time to decide. I am hoping for the home water birth that I wanted first time round with Erica but never got! Have been really sick this week, am hoping it gets better!! We are off to disney land paris in february for Ericas second birthday, so am hoping that the sickness has passed by then!! Are you still being sick?

Hi there. I just saw your post on the midwife section.. I had my daughter at home last December and had a few complications, such as her getting stuck and having her cord around her neck... my midwife was truly wonderful through it all and even tho it was a complication it was dealt with quickly... she always informed me way ahead of time that if something had to go skew, she would be the first one to call for an ambulance. I love my home birth experience, actually had a waterbirth. Good luck in your decision!! xxx

Yeah I know I've been just hanging around and relaxing I know he will b here soon so I'm just trying to relax b 4 its time cuz I know when he is here its gonna b over with like I go back to sleep about an hour or 2 after my bf leaves for work at 6 in the morning and I sleep till like 11 or 12 pm and I haven't yet tryed to get off that scedule but I really need to just got to do it soon or later I hate to know I got to stop doing that lol I've been doing it for the last two yrs I know its gonna b hard but at least it won't b to to hard to get up every 2 or 3 hrs to feed cuz I'm up all hrs threw the night having to p or take a shower cuz my back or pains something lol so I hope I can get off the slepping in real good cuz if not its gonna b hard I just got to learn to deal with it and its gonna b very hard cuz ima have him to deal with and all the house work as well since my bf works all day everyday and I'm the one that does it so ima try to get a new scedrule going b4 he is here if not I'm screwed lol but thanks for the heads up I got to do something b 4 he gets here I'm thinking of just going out with my bf for a nice everning and lots of other stuff but I'm so anxious for him to b here wish me luck lol

I know what you mean about the attitude! Erica can be a right little madam at times! She is happiest when she is trying to help me and gets in a little strop when it's something she can't help with! I'm hoping the sickness isn't as bad this time, although it has kicked in earlier. Are you finding out the sex of the baby? Fingers crossed your sickness ends soon too!!
