RILEY'S BIRTHSTORY IS ON HIS PAGE!

Well, I'm getting a late start at this but oh well! This is my first baby and we are waiting to find out what we are having. It has been fun but sometimes very hard too. I just can't wait for the moment when the doctor goes "Its a GIRL/BOY!!" We still aren't set on a boy's name so it just better be a girl. I am due 2 days after my only neices's 1 year B-Day so we are hoping to be a couple days early. Best of luck to all you other moms out there!

Jan: 24 ~ Ok, so I'm sitting here at work wondering if I can make it another week here without calling in sick everyday until I have the baby. I plan on working up until I go into labor, but sitting on the couch relaxing is sounding better and better! 39 weeks today. I had my first dream last night that was about our baby's sex. I haven't dreamt about it at all until now. I dreamt we were having a boy and when I told Jeff that this morning he said it must mean we are having a girl because I'm always wrong! Such support! I love him to death though and am so thankful that he is the father of my child and I know he will be an amazing dad! I don't know where I would be without him and when I think about what my life could have been if he wasn't around I have to fight back tears. I am also going to try to enjoy these last few days of being prego, even though I can hardly wait any longer, because I know my life will never ever be the same once baby is here!

I am in Vancouver. But grew up on Whidbey Island and then lived in Everett/Lynnwood for a while.. I moved down here to Vancouver about 8 years ago.. Where in Oregon are you? This weather has been pretty crappy! Crazy snow in the middle of April and it feels like January out there today. Not to mention the crazy lightening storms we have been having.. it's nuts. I can't wait for summer!!!

Cheysmomma - Sunday, 8 June
Your little man is very cute! he looks like a sweetie.

girlwitstyle - Sunday, 8 June
no, not many job opportunities at all. i'm a director so jobs at my level are few and far between. i have 4 things i'm interviewing for, but i don't even think one is close to my last salary, i'll have to take a pay cut i think...the recession is hitting this industry big.
so cool your mum did fashion, but yes, you have to live in a city which brings higher rents and higher house prices. so i have to make more!i make twice what my husband makes so i really do need to get a job soon!

girlwitstyle - Sunday, 8 June
hey..no worries! i'm interviewing right now for a new job, which in itself is a full time job! i got laid off when the company i worked for was bought by another company and several divisions were closed...this happened 2 weeks before my due date! so, not my severance is starting to come to an end, i have to find a new job! aargh.
i love the pictures of riley! they are fab.

That was my nephew in the pic and he had his chin on the ring pillow acting like he was going to eat it! Little ham! How old is your litlte one?

Hi! I hear that the more the baby latches and sucks that the more milk you'll produce as your body responds to the baby. So give him some (a bit) of formula to satify his hunger in the evenings and than try BFing straight away and see if if can get things going and than give him the rest of the bottle. he might have more patience when he's not so hungry. I've been advised this too. Good luck!!! Happy pumping!

lil-ole-me - Thursday, 5 June
Jordan get's frustrated when I get home from work too. It worries me - because I know that she wants the faster flow from the bottle. It feels like I'm fighting her every night, rather than bonding. I've started using a different position at night (football hold rather than cross cradle) and she seems to get more that way (empties different ducts). But it is hard! The more times we give in and give them a bottle, the harder it gets for the baby, and if we don't pump when we give them the bottle, the more our milk supply will dwindle! It's so hard... I cry about it at least once a day! I always consider giving up and just going to formula... but I think that I'm too stubborn to give up without a fight!

Hi there! I read your post on the breastfeeding forum, and I'm pumping for my baby too - if you want to talk, I have some ideas for you!

 I LOVE THIS PIC!!!

I can't wait until Erica only wakes up once in the night!! Erica is in her cot instead of her basket, but it is still next to my bed, don't think I would be able to manage otherwise with 2 hourly feeds! lol. I wish I could take naps during the day, but Erica fights sleep and it's really difficult to get her to sleep during the day. If she does fall asleep it is on my chest and only for 30-45 minutes so I can't nap as its not long enough and plus she is on me! Hopefully she will settle down soon and sllep during the day! I'm just sleep deprived at the moment! My husband just goes into the spare room and puts ear plugs in if Erica is restless (lucky him!!), otherwise he doesn't hear when I get up to feed her. He thought she slept all through the night until I told him how many times I'm up in the night with her ! I'm so glad I'm not back at work yet, I wouldn't be able to cope!! Erica has been swimming a few times now and loves it, I get lots of smiles from her when we go and last time I even got a little laugh! Moments like that make all the sleepless nights and crying worth it!

maimai - Wednesday, 4 June
Hello! How are you and Riley? Were ok, just starting Erica on baby rice as she wakes up at night every 2 hours for a feed! Hope you're both well

mommylin - Tuesday, 3 June
Hey I have the same problem with my inlaws they always are doing things with out asking me if its okay first. Or one time I was there and my little one was crying and she came over and grab my little one out of my arms like I wasn't capable of controling her, I want to kill her. But I think its the husbands place to say something and to also stand up for his new family, that being the wife and his kids. I think he needs to say something to them to let them know your concerns. I don't think its rude at all after all it is your child. I am at the point where when they come over my inlaws that is I stay in my room.

lynna - Thursday, 29 May
OH my gosh! I have had days like that.. The other day i had the whole pump thing connected to the bottles and the whole freaken thing fell over onto my dresser and then down my heat vent! thursday I forgot my milk in the fridge at work so then friday i brought home all of thursdays and friday's pump then left it on the counter and went to a BBQ, I was so upset when I got home and saw that it had been sitting out for 9 hours!!!! arrggg... I had some frozen back ups but still.....This week though I have been getting more pumped then normal which suprises and pleases me!

mommylaurie - Thursday, 29 May
Hey if you are looking for something better than those bags, try the platex drop in system. It is so cool. You store and baby drinks out of same bag. They just drop into the bottles. You do have to buy the caps which are about 10 dollars, but then all you have is the price of the bags, which is about 8 for 100. And no BPA.

melsue01 - Wednesday, 28 May
thank you ;-)

Your little man is gorgeous as well! (I think my daughter came out as unsquished as she did because she was a c-section)

karenc - Saturday, 24 May
I know, you're so right and I really do believe in quality time and not just quantity, but now & then those feelings pop up - argh! I keep reminding myself to be patient.... thanks :)
