My name is Heidi and I am 24 years old. I live with my partner Adrian who is 27yrs old. This is my first pregnancy, I found out on the 22nd Jan, which makes me 5 weeks pregnant today. Although this pregnancy wasn't planned we're both very excited and its all we can talk about. I wish everyone the best of luck with your pregnancies!!!!! xxx

Wednesday, 30 Jan (5 weeks)
I'm five weeks pregnant today, I found out only 8 days ago after taking 4 HPT. The first one I did was really faint, I then had to rush back to Asda to get three more, which were all BFP. I told my boss the following day, who didn `t appear too pleased, as one of my collegues had left the day before on maternity leave, oh well she has been in the same situation. Only having the odd twinges, tiredness and sore boobs. Praying I don't get morning sickness - hate being sick.

Wednesday, 6 Feb (6 weeks)
Its been a week since I last updated, so I thought I would let you know how I `m getting on. Last Friday 1st Feb I was such a cow to my boyfriend very emotional, he couldn `t put a foot right, poor thing he just doesn't know what to say. I went out with friends for an hour as they said it would do me good to get the house, 1 diet coke was enough for me so I went home, really exhausted as working full time. Saturday night my friend Clair invited me over for tea, with another friend who has a two month old baby, I started to cry as reality hit that me that we were gonna have a baby. Sunday - I was so exhausted it felt like a hangover without enjoying the drink the night before LOL. Boyfriend drag me off to Asda to do some shopping felt like I was in a daze the whole way round. Fell straight to sleep when I got home. Monday it was my friends 30th birthday five of us went out for a spa day. Unfortunately as i `m only 5 weeks pregnant I was `nt allowed a massage or use the steam rooms etc. Oh well had my eyebrows waxed and nails done, which was nice, in a much better mood, 2 of the other girls I went with were also pregnant so we could talk about our problems and excitement of being pregnant. The biggest problem at the moment is getting up to go to the loo in the night, must have been 6 times last night. Also had first bout of ms yeaterday although I think it could have been the fish sauce in my fridge, which set me off, fortunately it didn `t last long. Apart from that I feel fine most of the time and forget I `m pregnant. Spoke to midwife last night for the first time, have my first meeting with her at my house on the 22nd Feb, when i `ll be 8 weeks, can `t wait.

Monday, 17 Mar (11 weeks 5 days)
Since I last updated, I `ve had my first midwife appointment at home, which was nice, lots of questions about everything. I also had my blood taken and BP 140/62, which is good for me as I suffer with `white coats syndrome ` even though i `m a nurse LOL. My midwife Kerry was really nice and reasuring. My blood group came back as o -, which means i `ll need Anti - D injections later in my pregnancy and after the baby is born. My scan is on the 25th March, seems to take forever to come round, I can `t wait to see if evertything is alright, then I can relax. I `ve just started to show and none of my trousers fit me now, which is a pain, going shopping this week. Will post again after our scan!!!!

25th March (13 weeks 4 days)

Just had my scan and couldn't believe how amazing it was, and there were two babies, yes...... we're having twins, we're so excited, its so surreal, don't think its quite sunk in yet. As far as we know they're not identical, which is lower risk twin pregnancy. Family and friends are so pleased. I am now due 26th sept instead on my original date 2nd Oct. Trying to get hold of my midwife, just to update her on my news.

3rd May (19 weeks 1 day)

Its been a while since I last updated, not alot has happened apart from getting bigger and out growing my work uniforms. I've started to have those butterfly feelings in my tummy, mainly on the right side, can't wait to feel a proper kick. We're just looking forward to our next scan on the 12th May, I just want to know everything is alright and that they are growing well. We've decided not to find out what they are, as it will be a hugh surprise on the day. We also have a consultant appt on the 28th May. Will update again once we've had the scan.

14th May (20 weeks 5 days)

We had our scan on the 12th May and thankfully all is well. We decided not to find out what they are but i've guessed one of each by looking at the scan pics. Twin one -girl (maybe!!) Twin two - boy (again maybe!!!) Twin 1 is on the left hand side of my tum and is the smaller of the two (head down for now) Twin 2 on the right hand side (head down) I'm hoping they stay head down!! Another scan has been booked for the 7th July (28 weeks) my mum is going to that one, which will be a treat for her. I'll then have scans every 4 weeks after that. I told my work today that I will be leaving on the 11th July (29 weeks). I've only got 6 more weeks to work as I have booked one week off in May and again in June. I'm so looking forward to leaving and getting things sorted. Its just too hot to carry on working in the summer heat, and I certainly want to avoid bedrest if I can. We bought two little sleeping bags for babies to sleep in- its so exciting!!!!!

1st June (23 weeks 2 days)

Just to update - I saw my consultant on the 28th May, to go through what might happen towards the end of my pregnancy and labour, he listened to the babies heart rate and guessed they were boy/girl. He has suggested I go onto iron and folic acid tablets for the remainder of my pregnancy as I could become anemic. Urine checked and showed nothing abnormal but my BP was 170/80 and I had to go to the day admissions unit to rest and have it re-checked in an hour, if it hadn't come down by then I would need my blood taken to see what was going on. Luckily it went down to 150/80 and I was allowed home. I saw my midwife the following day to have Bp rechecked 150/70 so she wants me to see her again next week, I hate having my BP done as I get anxious about it being high, and then it is, but they need to keep an eye on me. Midwife listened to baby heart rates again, which was nice 10 beats apart. She thinks twin 1 has flipped to breech, but was unsure, will need to wait and see at my next scan 7th July. I also get to see my consultant on the 16th july.

28th June (27 weeks 1day)

I've had a bit of a hectic month in and out of hospital with high blood pressure and protein in my urine ?pre-eclampsia, fortunately my bloods have come back ok. My doctor has now signed me off for 4 weeks so I won't be going back to work, which is a relief as I was starting to struggle. Not long now till my 28 week scan I can't wait!!!my mum is going to come with me. I am dreading my Anti -D injection next week, but it needs to be done. Babies are moving all the time I just love it. We've started to get the nursery together, lots of people have been giving me their babies hand me downs - not sure what to do with them yet as I certainly want brand new baby grows for when their first born. I have so far gained a whooping 37 pounds, I'm just so hungry all the time.

7th July (28 weeks 3 days)

I've just come back from my 28 week scan both babies are doing great, they weigh approx 2lbs 12oz each, twin 1 is breech and twin 2 is head down, my midwife and sonographer say that twin 2 is now techniquely twin 1 as he or she is head down first, so if he or she engages into my pelvis first I could still (hopefully) have a natural delivery, I shall know more when I see my consultant next week. I have another scan booked for the 5th Aug i'll be 32 weeks and 4 days by then, time is certainly catching up with us now. My BP has stablised which is great and I've also had my Anti D injection, which wasn't that bad after all my worrying. My mum and Dad came over at the weekend to help with the nursery, we still need to get a few more bits but we are slowly getting there.

How`s my pregnancy doing?

My boys are about 19 weeks now and they sleep anywhere from 6 to 10 hours a night. They are formula fed and I give them a bottle around 9pm and they are in bed about 9.30pm. They usually wake once during the night between 3am to 6 am to feed then straight back to bed. I give them their bottles during the day at around 9am, 1pm and 5pm. After each of these feeds they have play time for roughly 45minutes under a play gym. Now they are getting a bit older they can mostly entertain themselves so I am able to do a few chores while they play. They will generally sleep about 3 hours at different periods during the day, I'm not too strict on their naps as long as they have at least an hour after each of their plays. So this is basically my routine. One pieceof info that I found invaluable is that babies have a 45-55min sleep cycle which means they roughly wake up every 45-55 minutes. During this time they will check their surroundings and if everything seems normal they will go back to sleep. I can literally set my watch to it. I notice that during the day they will make a bit of noise at this point then either go back to sleep or start crying, at which point I get them up. The other thing I do is not go straight in their at every sound I hear, I just wait and see if they are able to settle themselves first and usually they will. Hope this helps.

Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

I am sooo sorry that I did not wirte back sooner! I just realized today that there is a profile page and the option to send messages!! I am due September 28th but my scheduled c-section is September 17th! That is 14 days and I am counting down every last one of them! Everything has been pretty easy going until last week, now the anxiety and the pain between my legs is really kicking up a notch!! That is so exciting that you didn't find out the sexes! I wish we would have waited, but I was in a car accident and found out in triage that I was having twins at 19 weeks and the lady doing the u/s came right out and said "ONE IS A GIRL!" soooo that kinda left me no choice, LOL! But I am so happy for you, can't wait to see what those little babies are!!!! =)

Congrats! Saw your post on multiples - I tandem feed by twin boys they are 5 weeks. They don't take more than 60 ml. They shouldn't be taking more than that till 2 months. If they do happen to take more they spit it up. As long as they are gining weight don't worry to much on how much they are taking in. My boys are reaching 9 lbs now so I'm not pushing them to eat more than they do.

The girls have been home for a little over a week now. They are doing really well. they were 5.1 and 5.4 lbs at their appt a week ago. My bigger one has to be nearing 6 lbs and our little one is climbing slowly. They are eatin more and more. Its so amazing. I cannot believe they have been in this world for over a month now. Congrats to you! And I hope they make it home soon, I know how disheartening it is to have them in the hospital.

Hello, I am 26 weeks pregnant with twins. I read your post asking if anyone planned to start a routine right away. The answer for me is yes. I am a single mom, so I have to get a game plan and get it soon...lol.
*I plan to nurse, and keep both babies on the same schedule. This way I get more time to rest or catch up on anything that needs to be done. It also saves money on formula and creates a really close bond with the babies. (besides being way easier that rising from a dead sleep making 6 to 8 bottles a night..or more)lol
*I also plan to have them in bassinets next to my bed for at leate the first few weeks. Just to make getting to them easier. (and we KNOW with two of them "easier" is the way to go for sure)
*One of the bassinets will help out during bath time because while I bathe one baby, the other one can be right there with us, and when the first baby is done getting his bath, he can lay in the bassinet while the other baby gets her bath..
*I DO have drop ins and playtex nursers in case I need to substitute or can't nurse for whatever reason.
I'm not sure if any of this helps or not, but for me I pretty much think keeping them on the same sched. no matter how you do the rest of the stuff may make a routine a little easier.

Wow - you look really, really great!!

paulecita - Friday, 1 August
I guess you could say I'm okay, only the typical discomforts. Of course I am excited too, but yesterday I had like a panic attack (I'm exagerating of course ) It just hit me yesterday that I have only like 3 weeks left! That is nothing! Hopefully I can really make it past Aug. 23 because my mom is coming from out of the country on the 22, and I'm so afraid that she won't make it in time. I hope you're doing ok too.
