I have my 12 week scan tomorrow and really looking forward to my mind being put at rest and seeing a healthy little baby dancing about inside of me! i'm sure everything is ok, i'm getting bigger in the belly department!!!
19/06/2007
Had scan today and everything is fine, my baby waved at us! Due date has changed to 30th December 2007 instead of 31st December! It was so amazing, i could watch it all day! Just a shame the scan went so quick, apparenty the next scan is longer, yippee, i can't wait! I cant stop looking at the pictures, i just keep thinking 'thats my baby and it's growing inside of me' lol. I'm so happy everything is ok.

27th June - i got my next scan date through today its the 8th August, 6 weeks from today, yippee!! It's so exciting!! For some reason 2 of my baby tickers are saying 13 weeks and 3 days and 2 are saying 13 weeks and 4 days, but both with the correct due date and amount of days to go, how very strange! i started to get more energy and then the last couple of days i've felt quite tired! I've a few times felt like a flutter in my belly, definatly not wind, it's not very often but comforting to feel when i do! Cant wait to start feeling my little one properly xxx

1st July - We went out yesterday to have a look at prams to get an idea of what we wanted, we chose one and cant wait to get it now!!! Bought a pair of maternity trousers which are the most comfortable item of clothing i think i have ever owned, even pyjamas (and i love my pj's)!! Haven't felt anymore flutters since the other day, i think i am just being impatient! cant wait to start feeling them on a regular basis, i dont feel pregnant at the moment, apart from having a pregnant looking belly!!!

4th July - was feeling ok today, just tired, until i had a few stresses to deal with, my little boy was hurt badly by a couple of kids at school which i had to sort out, bless him. had dinner and felt fine until an hour later, started to feel sick then all of a sudden, head down the toilet! WAS NOT FUN!! i haven't really suffered from sickness, it just seems to be if i think of something horrible my belly cant take it and usually end up gagging, although tonight it went that one step further! just going to chill out now, not back at work until next tuesday which is nice to know! get my doppler tomorrow, looking forward to using that and have midwife on friday. Hope all the mums to be are well and happy xxx

5th July - i got my doppler today and oh my god it is amazing, it took me a while to find the heartbeat as i was half sitting up, but then found it, which was great! Then i layed down and it got so much louder and had to keep moving it slowly from one side of my belly to the other as my baby kept moving! i cant wait for my other half to come home and listen to his baby, i told him over the phone that i heard it and he was well happy! When i shouted to my stepson to come and listen, i lost the heartbeat and found it over the other side of my belly, cant believe the baby moved across so quickly when i shouted, just goes to show the baby can hear everything!

8th July - 15 weeks today, yippee!!! the weeks are starting to go quicker now, cant want to feel my little one move about, come on baby!! had a bit of a crappy day yesterday, felt really irritable all day and by 8.30pm i felt really tearful! Oh well, cant be happy everyday! have been alot better since having my 12 week scan, not really been moody or stressed at all (my other half will probably say otherwise, lol), got to have a bad day sometimes! had my midwife appointment friday and everything is ok, she listened to the heart beat (although i had been listening myself!) and still having problems with my sciatic nerve, its getting worse! well hope everyone else is feeling great and enjoying pregnancy xxx

11th July - well, been feeling irritable again today, but my sciatica is starting to ease up abit which is excellent! Had my blood test yesterday for downs syndrome and spinabifida, i'm sure everything is going to be ok though. At least this test didn't hurt as much as my last one!

Me and my belly at 15 weeks and 4 days! People keep saying i look bigger than i should at this stage! My other half keeps saying i'm going to pop!

12th July - I felt my baby last night, i was laying in bed on my side and felt like a tapping inside, quite low down to the side, it was really cool! have realised that without realising it, i have been eating things i wouldn't normally, i never put salt on my food or cook with salt but over the last week i have been putting salt on everything! also, i never used to eat peanut butter on toast, but have had it every morning for the last few days and really fancied it! My belly feeling really tight and my skin has been itching, must be where it's stretching so much, trying to keep it moisturised!

22nd July - 17 weeks today, yippee! i felt the baby again the night before last, again it was like a tapping, went on for about a minute and felt really cool! although i have felt my baby, each time is very few and far between and cant wait to start feeling regular movements, i'm soooo impatient! lol. only another 2 weeks and 3 days until i get to see my little one again and i'm so tempted to find out, but at the same time i still want to wait till the end! I feel abit tearful today, was sick thismorning so that might be why, its really weird feeling like you want to cry when there is nothing wrong! me belly has grown more and my step daughter thinks i'm loads bigger than i was in the above picture, will get another picture on for everyone to see! i love looking pregnant and feel good most of the time, i'm so pleased i have had an easy pregnancy so far (apart from sciatica, that was horrible but gone now!) just hope the rest of it goes well too!

My belly at 17 weeks!

how cute are these pictures!

31st July - well i'm 18 weeks and 3 days and enjoying being pregnant and love having my bump! over the last few days i've been feeling bubs move about alot more which is great, only gentle bubbly movements but i know its definatly not gas, i cant wait to feel stronger movements! still cant think of a boys name, at least we've got our girls name sorted! our scan is a week tomorrow and i'm sooooo excited, we're still not sure whether to find out the sex or not, Wayne wants to wait and so do i, but at the same time, i want to know!!!! my belly is getting big so fast and i found a dreded stretchmark on one of my boobs :( i guess all the cream and bio-oil in the world wont stop them completely! cant believe i'm nearly half way there already, have to start thinking about getting christmas presents sorted soon!! my aim is to have everything sorted out by the 1st of december for the baby and christmas! thats a joke, i say it every year and still dont manage it, the best i've managed is 2 weeks before christmas!!!! i seriously need to this year though! xxx

5th August - Well, i'm 19 weeks today and still getting bigger by the day! i have my scan in 3 days and am soooo excited, still not sure if we are going to find out what sex we are having, probably not, but then i'm weak and will probaly give in at the last minute, Wayne wants to wait till the end, we'll just have to wait and see! lol. i seem not to be feeling very much over the last few days, i feel the odd really gentle movement now and then but nothing regular and strong, it's quite frustrating and it seems so many other people are feeling their baby properly, oh well, i know it will happen soon! i had to take my belly button bar out 2 days ago as the skin was getting really tight over the top of it, it's really strange not having it in as i've had it done since i was 18, oh my god, nearly 8 years, i cant get used to looking down and it not being there! it's for a good cause though! will have to get another picture on here soon to compare with the last 2. Still enjoying pregnancy and need to go to the loo again so will leave it there (oh the joys, lol) xxx

19 weeks and 3 days

8th August - SCAN DAY!!!! 19 weeks and 4 days - It went fantastic!!! everything is going really well and got some really cute pics! i done really well and didnt find out the sex of the baby and sooooo glad i am keeping it a surprise! i saw its mouth open and everything, it was quite funny, when she was trying to check its face, wayne made me laugh and baby turned over so she had to go back to the face later on, was busting for a wee and had to let some out before even going in as my belly was hurting! (its really hard to stop once you start! lol). So glad to know everything is good, the pictures are all slightly different (i'm not going mad putting the same one on!) in the 3rd one, you can see its teeth buds, you can see the hand in all of them, you can even count the fingers! its got a really cute nose too! i love it soooo much already and cant wait to see him/her!! xxx

10th August - What an exciting day! we bought the cot today and set it all up, it looks lovely and i cant wait to see our baby in there!

Baby's cot baby's bedding

Below -baby's mobile and first teddy! Baby's first book, i love Beatrix Potter!

30th August - Well i havent updated in a while, i went to the midwife last week and everything is fine, my placenta is at the front which isn't a problem but it cusions the baby's movements, at least it explains why i can only feel the baby low down or to the sides. i'm feeling the baby move about quite alot now, which is excellent, its mostly gentle movements but occasionally its really strong, the other night i was laying in bed and all of a sudden it was like the baby was running on the spot, it was sooooo great to feel. My milk has started to come in already, sometimes it feels like i've got a knitting needle be shoved into my boob, when i phoned the midwife about it, she said it was starting really early and if the pain carried on to see my GP. i got a letter through a few days after my last scan with a date for an internal scan which measures the lenght of my cervix to see if i am likely to go into premature labour or not, i've got it on the 6th September at 3.45. not really looking forward to the internal bit but cant wait to see my baby again!

3rd September - i had to go over to the hospital today and while i was there i went to see if they could fit me in today for my internal scan instead of having to go back on thursday, which they did! the internal bit wasnt too bad and everything is fine, i'm low risk for pre-eclamsia and premature birth which is great! i got to see the baby too, the heart is good and strong and i saw it wave again and then start to suck its thumb! i didnt get any pictures this time though which is a shame. the baby is really active at the moment and i was watching my belly yesterday and could see it moving where the baby was kicking, Wayne also felt the baby kick last night, so great.

3rd october - Well, i have updated in the last month but the text seems to have gone missing! since last time i updated, i've felt quite a lot of movement and have felt the baby's foot under my finger which was great! the baby has had a few quiet times, which i hate those days coz i only get a couple of really small movements all day! i've finished buying everything we need for the baby, i feel so chuffed as i wanted it all done by 1st December and it was all done by 1st October! just got to sort out christmas now! i've booked my 4D scan for the 20th October at 12.00, i cant wait, its my birthday that day and will be the best birthday ever!!! i uploaded some pictures into the photo bit, i look smaller in one of them and not much different in the last two, suppose its coz i started showing really early! well thats about it for now! xxx

22nd October - Well, loads to tell, i had my 4D scan 2 days ago but only just managed to get on here to update! i was so excited i woke up really early, got ready and then opened my birthday cards and presents, did a bit of housework to make the time pass quicker and finally it got to 10.45am! we left to go for our scan and both looking forward to seeing what our little baby is going to look like! i'd had a coffee on the way to wake the baby up and bought a bottle of coke incase i needed it, but the baby was moving about all the way there and even once we got to the studio it was still kicking about loads! finally we went upstairs to see our baby, however the baby had other plans, as soon as the guy doing the scan put the thing on my belly he could see the baby was facing my spine!!! we tried getting the baby to move by jiggling it about and running up and down the stairs (which knackered me right out!) i drank a bottle of coke and ate a bar of chocolate, and went back in the room with crossed fingers to try again! the baby had turned but more into my spine, we got some lovely shots of the back of its head and its hands which were holding its head! he did the measurments and checked the heart beat before saying we had to go back another day as the baby will not move today! i was soooo gutted as i didnt even think i wouldnt be able to see the baby. so after a bit of a cry in the loo, we went downstairs to book another appointment, the receptionist was lovely and was talking about going back monday or tuesday, but could see i was really disappointed and said if we could go back at 2.45 that day, they'll fit us in again, which was excellent! so we went off, had lunch, ate loads of sweets, drank more coke, coffee and went for a walk up and down a hill, to try and get the baby to turn around! feeling abit sick at this point from all the sugar and caffine i'd had, we went back to try again, the baby had turned round and we got a fantastic shot of its face, it was excellent to see our baby on the telly, and as soon as we started watching, it yawned, it was so cute! although the baby still had other plans as it kept its hands infront of its face and only dropped them for a few seconds every now and then, so more jiggling the baby to try and get it to move its hands! we managed to get quite a few really good images so i'm really pleased with what we got, eventually the baby decide enough was enough and aswell as having its hands infront of its face, the feet came up to cover the face too! then it turned into my spin again! so we had to leave it there, but i'm overjoyed at seeing my little one and knowing everything is ok, its got 10 fingers and 10 toes and a cute little nose, my lips, really long fingers like mummy and has got big feet, like its dad! It heart rate is 141 beats per minute and it weighs 3lb 7 oz's already! the baby is only measuring one day ahead of my due date which is great and everything else is normal. So , thats all the information, there is a few of the pictures in the photo bit if you want to have a look xxx

8th November - well i'm coming up to 33 weeks pregnant now and feel like i'm getting bigger everyday! I have continuous rib ache from my little darling shifting about and kicking under them and my belly button is on the turn, getting really to pop out i think! i have stretchmarks on my boobs, thighs, bottom of my back/top of my bum and even have a stretchmark on one of my calfs of all places, i dont have any one my belly though which i am pleased about! i've been feeling really tired the last couple of weeks and more and more uncomfortable. cant believe there is still 7 weeks till my due date but i'm hoping 8 weeks till this little bundle of joy comes out the meet us. despite all the uncomfort, stretchmarks, and aching ribs, i love knowing my baby is safe and well and wouldnt change being pregnant for the world. xxx

19th December - Only 11 days till my due date, although i want my baby here with me now, i'm still hoping i go about a week late so all the christmas decorations will be down and when its little ones birthday, it will be seperate from christmas! a couple of weekends ago, i thought i was going to have my little one but no, i'm still waiting! last sunday, i went to meet my friend Charlotte, who is due on 2nd January, we had a lovely lunch and it was lovely meeting her for the first time, we left each other about 3.30pm and at 10pm her waters broke and she had her little girl at 4 am the following morning (17th December), i'm sooo happy for her and it's made it so real for me that my baby can come at any time!

CONGRATULATIONS CHARLOTTE AND PAUL ON THE ARRIVAL OF YOUR

LITTLE GIRL XXX

28th December - i've had a really hard time lately! last saturday i was having contractions really painful, went to hospital and they seemed to stop, they checked me out and cervix was really soft but not dialated at all and got sent home, i've had painful contractions every day and night since and it has been really unbearable, today is the 7th day! went back to the hospital boxing day as just couldnt handle it anymore as have had no sleep too which makes things worse! they sent me home again but with stronger painkillers, i could have hit the midwife as she said its not real pain!! the pain killers have been making me really sick for the last 2 days, but finally some relief today, my mum managed to rent me a tens machine from boots and i feel soooooo much better, i can actually walk about through the contractions and now feel like i can see the light at the end of the tunnel!!
i'm getting really worried for when the contractions get to 3/4 mins apart as i dont know how i will cope, definatly going to have the epidural!! Wayne has been an absolute superstar looking after me, doing everything for me and everything around the house, i really dont know what i would have done if he was at work! My mum has been brilliant too, doing whatever she can and being there when i've needed her! i'm looking forward to meeting my little one and hope its sooner rather than later!

Hope everyone had a good christmas and has a fantastic new year!

3rd January 2008 - well, this has got to be the best update i am about to write - I'M HOLDIND MY BABY AS I TYPE!!!

Claydon Tyler Baxter was born 29th December 2007 at 7.11pm, 7lb 6oz.

I'll tell you all about how my son came into the world, on 21st December i started having contractions which were coming every 4 to 10 mins, so not regular but painful! we phoned the hospital and they said to come in so they could see what was happening, my cervix was very soft but i was dialated at all, i then got sent home. I carried on having contractions everyday 4 - 10 mins apart, was getting no sleep and felt awful. On 26th Dec, boxing day, i ended back up the hospital as i just couldn't take it anymore, 4 days was enough and thought they would at least start me contracting properly, but no, i got sent away with stronger pain killers!! on Friday 28th Dec my mum managed to get me a tens machine, i felt so much better after i started to use it, at about 6pm my contractions were becoming more regular, every 5 - 6 mins, it was great fun as we had a massive power cut and sat with a couple of candles! within an hour, i was getting them every 1 - 2 mins, starting to freak out a bit as they were so close, i got wayne to phone the hospital and we arrived there at 8.20pm.

I started the gas and air as soon as i got there, fantastic stuff, i loved it!! i was having a canular put in my wrist and was laughing so much because it hurt so much, it was really funny!! After 7 days of contractions i had already decided i wanted an epidural, so i was given it quite quickly and didnt even feel them doing it (thanks to the gas and air). i was 3cm dialated when we got to the hospital, and i was so relieved not to be sent home again. At 2am, 29th dec, i was 6 cm and they popped my waters, at 6.30am i was still 6cm and was told if i had not changed by 8.30am i may have to have a c-section. The babys head was tranverse (and stayed that way the whole way through!). 8.30am came and i still hadnt changed, the doctor came in and put a clip on the babys head to monitor its heart rate closer and gave me something in the drip to get me going. they baby stayed so chilled all the way through the labour, it was fantastic! i kept being sick, i was so hungry but not aloud to eat or drink, i was given anti sickness drugs and anti-acid tablets which didnt help at all, was not fun!

Finally, i got to 10cm and was left about an hour before i started to push, i pushed for about an hour and 20 mins and just couldnt carry on, i was so knackered and was in so much pain as the epidural was wearing off so i could feel when to push, the doctor came back in and said about the ventouse, i do not know where i got the last bit of strengh to push when she used the ventouse! i felt the head come out, then the body, its a feeling you just cannot explain, its amazing, and my baby was placed on my belly. He was born at 7.11pm after 24 hours and 59mins of labour!!

Wayne told me it was a boy, it was so emotional, he came out really clean and chilled, with his beautiful little eyes open he made a small noise to let us know he was ok and just looked about. i was then taken to be checked and everything was fantastic, his apgar scaore was 9 and then five mins later was 10! Wayne trimmed his cord and gave him his first cuddle.

I felt really sick and was being stitched up as i tore, my mum, who had been with us the whole time, had the next cuddle as i was really worried about being sick on him, which luckily i didnt have hold of him because after about 10 mins of him coming out i was sick again, where i was laying on my back and couldnt move i projectile vomited into the doctors face (who was stitching me up).

Eventually i held my little baby boy for the first time, he was just so amazing and perfect, he is really beautiful and i instantly fell in love with him.

Well, that was mine and Claydon's labour story, we stayed in hospital for 2 nights, and came home on 31st December, New Years Eve, what a fantastic start to 2008! Wayne has been fanstastic and is in love with his little boy, we both are still so emotional and cant believe he is ours!

I will get pictures on here as soon as possible, for you all to see my beautiful baby, i'm just sorry i am unable to get them on now!

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

well we just all got together and went out for a meal togethe we had balloons and a cake and she loved it. she loves being with people. time is going too fast but i wouldnt change anything. shes a monkey and loves playing hide and seek with her mummy, shes nearly talking now too just needs to string words together.

we went to look at a nursery today and its a really nice place, she wanted to play with the kids, its not for now but for the pre-school year, its scary to be thinking of that already hehe. xxx

kazzian - Saturday, 19 April
i have added a few more pics of max, it takes ages on out computer at the moment!! everything is going really well with max, i still cant believe hes mine.

i cant believe you have a bed time routine with clay, max sleeps when he wants to, i dont think i would be able to get him into a routine if i tryed. he has his milk every 4 hours and sleeps from 9 or 10 or 11 at night till 6.30am so its not too bad really, he only wakes up because of the alarm clock.

max is just over 3 months now, like claydon hes very long, max is also very skinny so in having trouble with his clothes, he needs 0-3 for the waist and 3-6 for his length even then they are starting to look short. i cant wait for summer so he can wear shorts.

have clays teath come through yet?

im not back at work yet, my sister linds looks after all the kids at the moment although its still in my house, max really likes all the noise that comes with the kids i was really worried about that at first.

when do you go back to work?

take care, lots of love to you both from karen and max xx
