pregnancy calendar

This is my first pregnancy.

Friday 18th January

tonight i took a home pregnancy test and it was positive. I can not believe it.

Wednesday 23rd January

Tests came back from the Doctor they too confirm that i am pregnant. today is my husbands 30th Birthday. First appointment with Midwife scheduled for the 12th February.

30th January

i started spotting today. i am very worried so i went to A&E and they send me to pre natal for a scan. too early to detect a heartbeat but everything looks ok. they confirm that i am 6 weeks pregnant.

17th February

I cant believe i am 9 weeks tommorrow. I still have not had any morning sickness. I hope this is ok. i think i am starting to get a little bump. I have another scan scheduled for tommorrow. This will be the first time my Husband will be with me for a scan, so i hope we will be able to see and hear the heartbeat.

18th February

I had my scan today. Adrian came with me. thankfully i only needed an abdominal scan. I got to hear the heartbeat. It was amazing! i think my hubby was very surprised. the Doctor measure the baby at 8 week and 1 day, which is nearly a week less than i thought. my next appointment for another scan isnt until the 7th April. i still have no morning sickness, but am extremely tired. hopefully everything will continue to be ok.

Hi,

The reason they would want to do a c-section is that if you're placenta is low and you labour, it could cause bleeding (as the cervix thins and contracts it can cause the placenta to tear a bit) . There is the obvious risk to the baby if your placenta is comprimised. If you want to trial labour though, that is really your say. I would request another ultrasound after 30 weeks to check your placenta. I have marginal placenta previa, which just means my placenta is very close to my cervix, though not covering it and the info above is what the docs have been telling me. My condition has already caused bleeding, so the docs are pushing for a section, but if you haven't been bleeding, you might stand a better chance of having a vaginal birth. Best of luck!
