May 31, 2008 Well... not much progress at 38 weeks! And hubby decided that he wanted to wait another week before we try to have baby Julian.
Last week I dealt with alot of depression. I was sad that I wasn't making any progress and I had gained alot of weight... After being completely miserable for a few days even to the point of avoiding my husband, I decided that I couldn't do it. I couldn't be that person. So, I set a goal, something to look forward to.
My husbands birthday is June 8th. If I had Julian around that date then I would be completely estatic. Also, my sister in laws birthday is the same day and I love her to death. My sisters birthday is the day before and hubby's sister's birthday is the day after! The 7th, 8th, and 9th! Of course, I wouldn't be sad at all to go into labor on the 6th, so he'll have his own day. BUT! In the end I guess It's Julian who makes the final decision when he's going to come out.
I haven't been sleeping well at all... I wake up a million times a night and just lay there and I'll fall asleep for a little while and wake right back up. Kinda irritating, but I know you girls have the same feelings too... Sucks.
ANYWAY... 38 weeks and 4 days today. Hopefully this little guy will be born in 6-10 days.
I'll remember to enjoy the time that my hubby and I have alone in the quiet. And I'll cherish our time together alone.
May 21, 2008 Well... I guess it's been a few weeks. Yes, I spent another day at the hospital a week after the last incident, but obviously they stopped it. Now when I get contractions I take Turbutaline. The stuff sucks. Makes you really shakey and gives you heart palpitations... Anyway.
I'm sure you've read my comment about sex. My husband (yes my husband, I'm married now!) and I figured out that every time we have sex, I have contractions and go into labor. It's nice to know that cause I'm thinking that I would like to have the baby on the 30th or 31st of May. Give it a round of rough sex and maybe I'll pop out a little baby. What makes them, makes them come out... who would have thought.
Weight gain is up to 27 lbs, which was my target weight gain for the whole pregnancy. Guess I'm doing pretty good since I didn't gain any weight at the last dr.s appointment. YES! Hopefully it will stay there.
Just another thing on my mind. A new friend of mine had a baby about 8 months ago. (I met her through my husband, it's his friends girlfriend). Well, we really hit it off and I think that we may be spending alot of time together when baby is born. Doing the mommy thing. Taking baby out to the state park to walk around and shed any extra weight that I've accumulated. I figure that It's easier to do when you have a friend joining you, that's trying to accomplish the same thing. In all truth I'd like to get down even lower than my pre-pregnancy weight. I've always looked perfect at 150.... DAMN. That's going to be alot of walking...
Will keep updated!
By the way, just wanted to say that I finally set up the crib/bassinette tonight. Had to put a blanket on it in case the cat tries to sleep in it.
May 4, 2008 Garth and I spent 20 hours in the maternity ward at Riverside on May 3rd to 4th.
My contractions started at 4:30 pm on the 3rd and I thought it could have been temporary, so i went to work anyway. Work was excruciating so when I got off we headed to the hospital to find that I was already 3 cm. dilated. Needless to say that wasn't good because I'm only 34 weeks and they gave me medicine to stop the labor. Contractions
stopped at 4:30 in the morning and good thing too, we were both
exhausted. Most of the 4th was spent monitoring to make sure that i
wasn't advancing any. And I didn't. So by the time that it's
all said and done, I'm 4 cm. dilated and hoping that baby Julian
doesn't make a surprise visit before the wedding. And I'm done working too. It's too much physically after what just happened.
But for now we're all okay! We'll keep you updated!
April 25, 2005 Okay, we're at a 20 lb. weight gain and I have to say that I'm not that ashamed of it. I know that a lot of people gain like 30-40 lbs in their first pregnancy, but I haven't and that makes me happy. Baby is doing very good. I remember when I used to go to sleep and love it when he moved and now when I change positions at night I pray that he doesn't wake up. He's so strong that he'll keep me awake. I want to cherish my sleep before he's born. Still don't have any stretch marks on my tummy, but I have a feeling that they will be coming soon. Urgh. I don't want them. But mom and sister got them, so I might as well too. Next baby shower is April 27th! I'm really excited because there will be alot of people there. Hopefully I can catch up on the bottles and pacifiers because at my first shower I got one bottle and not a single pacifier. How crazy is that?
GETTING MARRIED IN 2 WEEKS ONE DAY!
April 14, 2008 Just a song that I've been listening to. Getting Married May 10th and it makes me think of my fiance. Still don't know the weight of my baby. But everyone tells me that I'm getting big fast. I don't really feel like it though. But I trust their judgement.
Jason Mraz- I'm yours
April 7, 2008 Another Dr.s Appointment... AH! I gained 4 lbs! That makes a total of 17.5 lbs. I need to stop doing that. Good news though, baby is head down and I'm measuring good! Baby Julian seems much more active now. Especially at night when I lay down. But it's a good sign that he's developing correctly! Two baby showers coming up! BABY STUFF! I've been so excited about this for months! 31 weeks+6 days today! It's flying by!
thebigtomato - Saturday, 26 July Thanks! He looks like a combo of both of us, but a little more like his daddy... Sigh...
thebigtomato - Saturday, 26 July Julian is so handsome... :)
cate - Saturday, 26 July It's going good. She has full blown thrush and it's been hard for her to eat, but we went to the doctor today for her shots : ( and she got an prescription for it. So, hopefully it will help. What about you? Things going ok?
knockoutmom - Wednesday, 23 July hah, i cant imagine two drummers either. good luck with that one if it happens!
knockoutmom - Tuesday, 22 July oh god the drumming on anything thing gets old quick! especially when im falling asleep while watching tv or something and he starts banging around. his foot even taps in his sleep! i keep telling him we should get riley a little fisher price type drum set and he said no hes getting her a real one. hah!
cate - Tuesday, 22 July Thanks! That sounds like something that we will start doing! It seems like it would be a lot easier than going and heating it up and everything.
knockoutmom - Tuesday, 22 July ahhh thats the cutest bib! your little guy is soooo cute!my boyfriend is a drummer too. i cant play a thing but i wish i knew how!!
cate - Wednesday, 16 July We've used both and I think the gripe water works better. It's much stickier but it helps with hiccups too!
knockoutmom - Thursday, 3 July yea thats right! i forgot that i read something about that one, too. ill definitly have to look moreso into that one. non-hormonal is good! and if it works im sold!
aidensmama - Wednesday, 2 July I use Good Start and it works great!! Just make sure it had comfort proteins...I use the natural cultures one.
knockoutmom - Wednesday, 2 July i have no appetite at all! however i do find myself still craving a milkshake here and there. its weird. yea, birth control pills killed my sex drive, my weight, and made me totally moody around the same time every month right before my period. i hated it! i started on them because i had really bad cramps and it worked great for that, but not for anything else. i just stopped taking them one day and got pregnant the following month. ill never go on them again! mirena sounds nice cause they say you can just take it out whenever you decide to have children, and if you dont then it stays in for 5 years. i definitely like the sound of that!
roxymom - Wednesday, 2 July Hi-just to let you know....my daughter has been sleeping in her car seat since week 2. I felt guilty as well, but my midwife said that it was completely okay to do this. It is amazing how much better she sleeps when she is in her car seat.
juliedue2008 - Wednesday, 2 July My mom said that nothing we decide as mom is ever wrong... so no it is not wrong to have him sleep in the car seat! :O)
Cherryb0m - Wednesday, 2 July i just found out my little one has reflux too, hers is really bad. her dr put her on prevacid and it has helped soooooooooooooo much! i am breastfeeding so i cant help you with the formula question, but there are a few things you can do to help your little one. try to feed your baby as upright as you can, after feeding keep the baby upright for atleast a half hr. my dr. also said to raise one side of her crib, so she sleeps at an angle. i also keep her in her bouncer for most of the day so she isn't laying flat on her back which makes her reflux really bad. dont know if any of this helps?!
nmck - Wednesday, 2 July The formula that is meant to help acid reflux is Enfamil AR. We switched to it in the beginning of June and it has made a huge difference. It has thicker milk, so it is harder to travel back up the esophagus. We also are using prevacid for our son. I finally feel like his reflux is under control! He has been getting constipated though, so the doc told us to give an ounce of prune juice mixed with water every day. It has done the trick so far! I thought Nestle Good Start is just a basic formula for babies that don't have any special need?
knockoutmom - Tuesday, 1 July yea i dont want intimacy anything right now with this self image i have going on. i went to the doctor today for some reason at 3 weeks instead of 6 and forgot to ask if its ok if i take walks. im sure it is but im so afraid of overdoing it. are you going on any birth control? i think im gonna try mirena. the pill was way too easy to mess up!
cali.momma - Tuesday, 1 July hah i dont know. i gained 20 exactly, 4 was because of my high blood pressure [[swelling]]. i got home from the hospital, had lost 16, and it keeps going down. my weight has been confusing since first getting preg. because i lost 19 pounds in the beginning, gained 20, now lost 30
NumberFive - Monday, 30 June maybe a formula without extra iron?
nmck - Thursday, 26 June Hey! my son suffers from acid reflux too. Try using Enfamil Ar formula. It is thicker so it hels them keep it down. We have had great success with it, as well as trying medicines. Zantac helped some, but now we are trying prevacid. Good luck!
mariela14 - Thursday, 26 June I'm out of the hospital. : ) lol. Just got some pics up for ya.
mommye2b - Saturday, 21 June You're welcome. Now you can go enjoy your baby!!
