Hey, pregnant people! My husband and I just found out two weeks ago that we are expecting Kid 2 in May of next year! Very exciting news for us, our family and friends! Just found out on Monday, Oct 1st. I woke up that morning thinking...hmmmm...maybe I shouldn't have had that other helping of pancit from that picnic yesterday because I am feeling terrible. Well, I guess it wasn't just the pancit that was upsetting my stomach. I took one of those electronic "pregnant" or "not pregnant" tests and of course, my stick had to read...."see leaflet". I'm thinking, great how do I miss up a simple pee test?! I retook another home pregnancy test, one not some complicated this time and sure enough a plus symbol showed up and a call to the dr.'s office was made. I went to the dr.'s on Wed, Oct 3rd and sure enough our pregnancy was confirmed. I'm scheduled for my first OB appt. on the 30th of this month. We are active duty military so I'm wondering is this normal to wait so long? I've been having some pain on my left side that I never felt when I was pregnant with my first one so it's striking me kinda odd. Another notion that's different is how sick I feel. With Mason, my son, I never felt sick. However, now the whole gagging feeling happens everyday. Yuck!
11/28/2007 Yesterday Philliip and I had our first ultrasound done. It was so exciting to actually see a baby in there. I am at 14 weeks but of course they could not pinpoint my absolute due date nor was I expecting them to do so. The doctor that we are assigned to was great, very very thorough. Maybe a little bit too thorough....but none the less, Phillip and I learned a lot of information. I have been moved to the high risk clinic because of my high blood pressure that was diagnosed after I had our first son, Mason. Our next appointment is on December 19. Hopefully, we'll find out what sex of the baby is then =)
12/19/2007 First appointment with a high risk doc. I told her about my wheezing and how tight my chest has been getting especially at night and so I am once again back on an inhaler. Let's see what else, heard the baby's heartbeat which was very cool. At first I was wondering why it was so slow but in actuality it was my heartbeat that was being picked up from the dopler and the baby's heartbeat was in the back. The corpsman said the base line heartbeat was around 150. Since of course we are active duty military and everyone and their momma has to go to Portsmouth Naval Hospital, the next formal ultrasound is next month. We were supposed to have ours done yesterday but they overbooked us- pretty disappointing. However, according to the high risk doctor, because of my asthma and high blood pressure I think they are going to be monitoring the baby every four weeks so that's always good. Our next appointment is Jan 22!

WOW...never should have figured out had to add all this cool stuff. It's addicting. LOL

Haven't been on here for awhile so I guess I better jot down some news. Yesterday we had another ultrasound and the baby is doing well. His heartbeat had a baseline of 140 and he weighs around 2 lbs which is in the 50th percentile of the growth chart. His head was down and his ankles were crossed just chillin and doing his thing. Doc says that they are going to start giving us stress tests soon which kinda makes me nervous. The last time my body went through a stress test, Mason came three weeks early. So I guess Phillip and I better start preparing for this little one and I guess we better pin down a name for him. I also went to the pulmonologist yesterday for my asthma. I think the pharmacy gave me their whole supply of inhalers, nose sprays and prednisone. LOL. Our next appointment is on March 31 - another scan and OB appt.

Called the doctor today to find out my results of my 3 hour glucose test. I passed! Thank goodness! That test was agonizing. I think I have a fear of needles now. The poked me twice on my hands and on the underside of each wrist. I seriously looked as if I had suicidal tendancies with the bruising that's really visible on my hands and wrists. Not fun! Anyhow, just really glad to hear that the test was successful.

I had an ultrasound today and a xray tech was kind enough to play around and let us check out some 4D images of the baby. I think he's going to look alot like Mason. I also had my first NST done today. I guess the test was only supposed to take 30 minutes but instead I was there for and hour and a half. Now until the baby comes, I have to go to the hospital every Tuesday. Right now he weighs 4 lbs, 4 oz.
