G'day. Just reading your post on week-by-week. I passed the 1 hour glucose test with flying colours, and one doctor said I should do the 2 hour one, because I'm an older mum. My GP disagreed, though, so I haven't and don't plan to do it. Hope you sort out what needs to be done and what doesn't! In the end, what matters is healthy babies, hey!

Hi, I had the same problem wit my baby - he was high and wouldn;t engage. Probably because he was posterior and rather large - over 9 lb. I was 41 weeks, they nearly sent me home for a false labor, and they had to induce me, but they cannot get him come out naturally. I also glad they had this back up opton to deliver him via c-sec. No matter how they manage to get the baby out - as long as he is out and well.

Hi there, thanks so much for your comments on the cesarean section page - they helped me sooo much you would never know. I do hope I have the courage to go through it again, I am just so scared, and also feeling quite down about my body shape now, as I now have a cesearean 'pouch' and I have been told that this will never go away :( I never really had much confidence anyway but now its even worse! I am so grateful to you for posting and thanks for telling me about your friends story as it seems the same happened to her whereby the baby was there and engaged - but for some reason wouldnt come out! I just worry it was me and that I wasnt pushing hard enough :( I will never know and I know that I have just got to move on. Good luck with your next pregnancy and I wish you all the best x

Thank you for your input, everyone seems to be giving me the same advice. I am just nervous about surgery. Thanks again. Susan

Yep that was Peter. Go up and say hello, he loves to chat, and I told him that had told you about him.

Getting a little down now. Bad night last night and Bec is now feeding SO much.. again. Must have been a fluke night before.

Any way, talk to you later
Jac

mumjac - Saturday, 5 July
Hi Amanda, was sitting here feeding Bec, when I wondered how you were going?
Rebekkah went to sleep by 10pm last night for the first time in two weeks!! She then slept till 3am, Woo Hoo. Didn't know what to do with all that sleep. She was feeding every hour from 7pm till 12 or 1 am. But I think my milk supply must have finally caught up, and to my suprise she was out like a light at 9.50. I thought of all the chores I could get done, then went straight to bed myself, lol. Cleaned my floors today for the first time since my week 37. I feel SO much better looking at clean floors. Peter has vacumed a few times, but I picked everything up, and then mopped. I also brushed off the fans, and cobwebs too.

But that is probably all the housework I will do for a couple of weeks, as Mum is due on the 16th, REALLY wants to help me, and would be put out if there was nothing to clean when she got here. lol.

Hope you and your family are well, and happy
Jacqui
PS there are new photos on the website. JC

Thanks. Peter's daughter works for them, so took our photo for us and put it in. I was thinking that you might see it. Pete is doing up our family website at the moment. www.canhamoz.com . Go on and have a look if you like.

I think so. No body has made any negetive comments, I think it is cause she came out so smoothly, no marks or swellings etc. Thanks for your comment, she is going to grow into a lovely little girl I am sure.

You were right. Rebekkah Joy was born on 6/6/08, Darwin Hospital, 7.4pd. She is perfect, will post pictures. Have spend the first day at home catching up on sleep, I thought it was me, but it must have been the hospital SO NOISY!! even with the room to myself for the first 3 days, I must have got 4 good hours sleep each night, with the cleaners coming around only in the rest times, everyone elses babies crying, etc, and then there were the painkillers for the pain. HOME AT LAST!! Life looks kinda normal. I walked in an burst into tears, I was terrified I was away from the midwives help, but so relieved to be away from there. Found that their advise was only that, advise, I can now start making my own decisions for once.

Hope you are doing well, as well as your girls. We should do coffee some time next month, once I have settled in and start journeying out.

We went public, as there was not one private obstititian free in June when I rang in my 9th week (should have rung in my 6th week!!). Apparently there were two army contingents back from Iraq and Afganistan in September last year, so there were quite a few pregnancies from that. lol.
Bub is in a footling breech. Head is up under my ribs, bottom poking out over my left ovary, and feet tucked into my pelvis. Transverse would have been easier to move, but this is really hard!! I am starting to resign myself to my planned c-section. Would have loved to be able to walk back to my room after the baby was born, and be able to leave the hospital early, but life sometimes makes it's own rules. Bub can't settle in, cause their feet are in the way, so they are still right up under my ribs, can get uncomfortable, it would be nice to have it over.
Anyway, had better go. Still slogging away at work now. Due to finishe up next Wednesday, after my next appointment, depending on what they say is happening with bub.
Take Care
Jacqui

MUMJAC - Monday, 26 May
I have lived in Darwin for 15 years last April. My husband has been here for 10 years. We love it here, and wouldn't dream of living anywhere else if we can help it. I will be giving birth to "peanut" in the Darwin Hospital, and it looks like it is a c-section on the 6th, so Erin will be exactly 2 years and one day older, lol.
We had just signed the contract on our first mortgage, moved our stuff in and concieved that weekend, so the next few months will be interesting on one income. My husband works in Coles nightfill as well as his day job, and he has the green beard, if you bump into him...

Our families actually know it's just that we aren't telling friends-some of whom might be on this site LOL

But yes, you can guess and I'll tell you.. that's why they invented private messaging LOL

My day was just ordinary as well really.. but that's ok.

Thanks for the tips. We give her a bath every day, it makes us feel better so she has less chance of getting an infection. I can't imagine potty training. I bet it's worse! I cried potty training my boys, that is the hardest thing to do!!
