My profile

My name is Jessica. I'm 25 years old and I've been married to my junior/highschool sweetheart since June, 2002. We have a beautiful baby boy named Joshua Daniel (Jr.) born in November, 2006, and are expecting our second son, Michael Alan, in September.

Joshua was our little "surprise". We always said we wanted kids...and lots of them :), but we apparently needed a little push to get started. I wasn't so sure about all this baby stuff at first, but he is now the love of our lives and we couldn't imagine our lives without him. He's so perfect!!! This is a really fun stage. He's learning new words everyday and keeps us laughing ALL THE TIME!! My due date with Joshua was November 21, 2006 (2 days before Thanksgiving). The doc's decided it would be best to induce me a week early (big shock!! it was almost as if they didn't want to spend Thanksgiving with me in the hospital), so on November 14th we were finally able to meet our precious Joshua. I got to tell ya, he was completely worth the 12 hours of labor and THEN a c-section...really. :)

Michael Alan is our planned baby. Thankfully, we were able to conceive him during our first month of trying. I love this little man so much already, too!! This baby is very special to many people as he is named after my husband and my best friend who passed away from brain cancer last June. We chose to have our boys close together; they will be 22 months apart. We figured we would rather just stay in "baby mode" instead of having to start over again and again. We'll see!!! Michael will be coming to us via c-section on September 4th and I can't wait to meet him face-to-face!!!

Yeah, she is in with us. But she never ends up with Eddie. He is a rock of a sleeper. I keep her gaurded cuz he will be sleeping on his side and lay back and just about lay on her. So I am only ever half asleep anyway. But better than her waking every 20 minutes and rocking her back to sleep. I am such a sucker for a steal too. I would have done the same thing. Well, gotta run as I am being called from the swing. I love love love that swing. Saved my sanity.

Yeah you are pretty much insane. I would hate to have all those ppl in my house right now. Well, I guess this diaper issue must be common. And ours is the same. One little tinkle and she is ticked off. Our baby swing motor died last week so I went out to get a new one. We ended up with one of those that swings head to foot as well as a side to side rocking motion. SHE LOVES IT! She will sleep in there for 2 hours at a wack. It is wonderful. Although I am notincing that she gets cold even though she is bundled up in blankets. I have been able to get more housework done the last 3 days as the last 3 weeks. And she is starting to sleep better. Like only wake once a night. Well, from midnight to 8am anyway. So life is looking pretty good this week. Next week will have its own new adventure to deal with. Ben will get chicken pox or something nuts like that! Ha ha ha. Hope your party hosting goes smoothly.

yeah we bought them already too. the colic tablets too. they didnt do much but the teething tabs worked wonders for ben. So how many diapers are you going thru? we bought a box of 100 on the 22 and we ran out like 3 days ago. never did we use so many with ben. and i think she is dirty in every one. should this have stopped or is it normal? all the dooky I mean. guess i should ask the dr. cant put her down today. its laundry day but i cant hardly use the bathroom, she wakes up. even tried a cd with womb sounds on it. swaddled her, laid her on the bed, the couch, her bounce chair and her swing. my poor house is neglected. you are a super mom if you are doing all this plus going to work. and you have a young older sibling. mines nearing 5 so he is mostly easy. yep, supermom.

mines a 3pm napper too. but my baby wont b content in her chair or swing for more than ten minutes. and dh laeves before 8 for work but he doddles really bad so i'd have to shower at 7 and i am tired enough without getting up early. think its possible for her to be teething already? she is fussy and drooling. my 1sy cut both bottom teeth before 4 months, so early.

tandiann - Monday, 3 November
what do you do with your wee ones while you shower? I can't do it still. I have to wait until DH is home and shower then. With one I would just put him in the swing in the hall and leave the door open and super hurry. But with 2 I jsut know Ben will try and love on her or pick her up and shel'll get hurt. Just curious how you are accomplishing this? Tell me your secret to a morning shower. I so miss them.

I can't believe a daycare would do that! How infuriating. How sad you have to handle that stuff as your job. And seeing that these parents were clearly not doing all they could to avoid it. I don't think I stopped worrying about sids with my 1st until he was 18 months old. I was told that one the baby can roll himself over or does so at night, that you can let them sleep on their tummy. Is that so? Kinda makes sense but then again, why would they warn you against tummy sleep if they outgrow the danger? Baby has started to smile and coo. It is so fun to watch. And her alert times have gotten longer and more than once a day. Well, she is waking so she will fill her diaper then be hungry so I better go b4 she cries and wakes up Ben. I treasure his nap time.

Hi! Well... Things r ok. I'm still struggling to find some sort of routine. But no luck yet. How u doing?

tandiann - Sunday, 26 October
That is amazing that your DH had so much time off. Mine had 3 weeks for the year and he tried to save them but with the remodel he had to shave a few off to get the big stuff done. The colic is better. Not sure but I think she was having trouble with the milk I was drinking. I bought a half gallon of lactose free milk and gave it a couple days and she never did the nightly cry-fest she had been so I have stuck with that and she is much better. My older so is making us nuts too. I figure that they are just not sure how to get our focus back on them like it was. Ben and I had tons of quality time and now I am just trying to keep him fed and happy let alone doing crafts and wrestling. So we are making adjustments to our daily and weekly schedule to allow him more of our attention and I am really hoping that takes some of the behavior issues away. God willing. lol. That is great you have family to help with the kids. No one wants to leave the babies but at least you have someone you trust. Just remind them that babies NEVER sleep on their tummy. We went to the opera last weekend and I had the baby with a very capable friend who is my mothers age. She has watched several of my friends babies so I assumed she knew but when we got back she was telling us how she laid her down on a blanket on the floor on her belly and she slept for a good while. Freaked me right out. So now I know to remind everyone that is a no no. Otherwise, I am sure they will be great and have a blast hanging out with your family.

mommyofthreetobe - Thursday, 23 October
It's hard. i cried the night before and was trying not to when i left him at daycare. I did a little. Luckily i have been real busy at work and it has helped me not think about it a lot. When do u go back?

mommyofthreetobe - Monday, 20 October
Hey girls. I have to go back to work tomorrow. As you all know it is so hard leaving the little ones for the first time. If you could please pray for me to make it through the day.

tandiann - Thursday, 16 October
so how are you? we are still adjusting but i van see the light at the end of this tunnel. she slept for 4 hours solid the other night. it was wonderful. and big brother has started to be needy and very attention hungry. poor guy. its hard to want to snuggle a kid who is squeeling and screaming (happily) constantly. she is getting some rolls and it is so cute. i tried to give her some formula in a bottle and she was having no part of it. we are going to the opera on saturday and i am trying to pump but i am barely keeping up with her so i hope what they say is true, if she is hungry enough.... do you have to go to work? it just seems like everyone is headed back. i dont thankfully but know of several who only got 6 weeks and took off early to prepare. hope all is going great.

I wanted to start Speed walking but it hasn't been 6 weeks since my c-section so I wasn't sure if I was allowed. I forgot to ask my OB at my incision check last month.

Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Thus far it seems like recovery is toughter but I think I just blocked out this period of time. My Dh thinks it is the end of the world if he misses an hour of sleep even though I am awake every hour at least for a minimum of 20 minutes. He will take a nap if I have him take a shift for an hour. Its crazy. But like you said, it can't last forever. That is what keeps me going. I think some of her fussiness is due to dairy. I cut it out and she got much easier. Not like Ben but better. It stinks though cuz I practically live on milk. The things we do to keep our kids happy. Here's hoping that one month is easier than this month has been.

mommyofthreetobe - Sunday, 5 October
I have posted new pics on my page. Hope every one is doing great.

tandiann - Saturday, 4 October
I think it was scarier the 2nd time around. I was so tired and out of it with Ben that this time I was so aware of everything and it freaked me out. I made the dr turn on the radio to cover the operating room sounds. The metal tools clanking together, the strange noises from the proceedure and all their dr garb. That and when she came out she was all gray and covered in that gross stuff. I didn't like it and was glad when they brought her back all pink and cleaner. Your boys are so cute. My son is all over the baby. Kisses, hugs, snuggles and trying to hold her hand. He is always waking her up. Cute but it is starting to lose it's charm. And she has developed what I assume is colic so that is great. Every night at about 8 or 9 she starts to fuss and cry and keeps at it until at least midnight and then she will only sleep in short bits so I am so sleep deprived. Dh has learned to sleep right through her wild cries and my pokes and jabs to wake him. Lucky me. Big brother will come into our room to ask if there is anything he can do to help. Right words, wrong guy. But it can only last so long, right? Ben never had this so it is odd to experience it this time. She is so different from him. He was easy and passive and even when he cried he was quiet. This one has lungs and likes to use them. How is your brood fairing? I hope better than mine. But when they are grown out of this phase and talking in the car or playing in the yard it will all be worth it. That is what I am telling myself now at least. ha ha ha.

Wow he's adorable! Well baby's doing better. We had a bit of a scare as his jaundice didnt go away as it should have. But it wasnt too serious and he's doing much better now. I'm still struggling to cope and wish i had another pair of hands! But i'll get there soon enough!

Rosieb - Friday, 19 September
Hi! Just popping by to c how u been. I'm trying hard to cope but think i'm fighting a loosing battle. Lol

Yes everything went well. And fast. Even if i had the option of drugs there wouldnt have been time. Lol. From the time the contractions started to really really hurt till baby was born wasnt even 15 min. I'm so happy about that. There was just 2 nurses i got mad at. 1st the one who told me i'm not allowed to push and give birth in the examination room, bcoz 'thats not how its done' (rolls eyes) and and the other one who complained when i said 'shit my water just broke' she told me off for swearing. This was like 1 min b4 baby was born. Oh and when i couldnt get on the bed during a contraction she told me baby's gonna drop onto the floor. Felt like telling her, 'come stand behind me and catch him! Its yr job to make sure he doesnt drop onto the floor!' Lol. But besides me doing a good job at keeping my big mouth shut (for a change) things went well and i got treated well. :) how did yr stay in hospital go?

jae - Saturday, 13 September
