Friday, 23 May Thanks! There were so many times I felt like it was too hard for me, but somehow I made it through. Thank God. It really felt like a miracle! socalgal -
Wednesday, 21 May Yes. They are the same thing. You have to be dilated a little bit and the doc slips his or her fingers in between the amniotic sac and your uterus and either "sweeps" or "strips" the sac from your uterus. This sometimes gets things going if your ready to go. For me, it caused lots of cramping and I lost my mucous plug, but then nothing. Good luck! hklaw -
Tuesday, 20 May Hey
I certainly don't mean to scare you, but it was really intense. Let me just say this. IF YOU HAVE TO HAVE PITOCIN, GET THE EPIDURAL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE (4 centimeters at my hospital). Don't try to be a hero, just go for the pain relief. Go to www.birthstories.com there are some great birth stories and they are categorized by natural, induced etc... I think you'll find that most that get induced have an epidural. Skip the IV drugs and go right for the epidural. hklaw -
Monday, 19 May I did have an epidural with the PITOCIN. I think it makes contractions unbearable and hard. If anyone can labor naturally without drugs while on PITOCIN they deserve a medal! Mommi2Be -
Monday, 19 May Thank you so much for the info. These pains are awful but what I am scared of is if it hurts like this already i don't want to know how bad labor is going to hurt. kmfitz -
Thursday, 15 May yeah, i'm scared too. but i think everything will turn out okay. or i hope so anyway! socalgal -
Thursday, 15 May That sounds like a perfect idea. Just do whatever feels good for you at the time. There is no more important time to put yourself first and nurture yourself. xobeckyxo -
Wednesday, 14 May go to the party and lie about your due date! Just say..oh I have another 10 days. If anyone questions anything just say they got your dates wrong and changes them at the last minute!!! Lying is wrong but being an annoying nosy relative isn't much nicer. :) I think you should go to the party, it will be something to take your mind off this horrible waiting game. socalgal -
Wednesday, 14 May Many women stop making public appearances long before their due dates. It is perfectly acceptable and understandable for you not to go to the party. Just tell people you are overdue and do not feel well enough to go--they have to understand that! And you are under no obligation to tell them you are getting induced either---that's your personal business! kmfitz -
Wednesday, 14 May Hey, I have the same situation going on and I'm totally nervous as well about the induction :(
