On the same day that Grand Theft Auto came out, I found out that I was pregnant.

My husband was playing his new game in the living room, when, on a hunch, I went to CVS to get eye makeup remover and a preggers test just for the hell of it.

I had been having some menstrual-like cramps for a couple of days, but no period, and my boobs were more tender than usual (which always happens before my period.) I also mistakenly thought I was two months late, but it turns out the night I tested, I should have had my period around that time.

I had imagined grand plans of telling my husband we were expecting ... a cute card, telling him at a restaurant, leaving the positive test out on his dresser. But, nope. My panic kicked-in and it was totally unromantic.

I peed on the stick and watched it magically change before my very eyes.

Two lines.

Crap!!!

I yell for my husband to come in there, which interrupted his game-playing. He comes in expecting me to play a joke on him. When he meets me, though, I'm holding up the stick with the two pink lines and the test instructions.

"Look at this," I yell in a panic.

"I think I'm pregnant!!!"

We look at the box, which shows the lines closer together, so we were really doubting the results.

Dumb, huh?

We're at about 6 weeks and I've taken six tests!

All positive.

I had gotten rid of her b/c I didnt think I would have time for her once I had the baby and she is very playful well they emailed me yesterday telling me that she has stopped eating completely and asking me if I could take her back b/c she isnt adjusting so yes I took her back then she started having blood come from her bottom so I took her to the vet today after being up w/her all night long last night they put her on antibotics and we are now home..

we have a 3 in 1 crib......crib, toddler bed, full size
you have to buy the rail to convert to full size. Also when you convert to toddler it dosent have a side rail like the other toddler so had to buy that too. Thought is was a good idea at the time but it isn't the best thing in the world.

lol, yeah it is gonna get worse and im looking foward to it, how insane is that? I just get tired of it right now I guess because I can't tell im pregnant, I have no symptoms whatsoever except for not wanting food and starving at the same time.

Hi, I am in Jacksonville Texas about 25 miles south of Tyler and trying to choose Drs. One is in Nacogdoches and the other in Palestine. My cousin gave birth in Longview and I was there for it. She had such a nice room and even had a huge balcony. I thought of this when trying to make my decision but then quickly remembered that she never used the balcony and hardly even remembered the room. I know we will not all be so lucky as to sleep through the whole thing like she did, but in the end I don't think that is what I will remember unless it is just filthy which I pray is not the case for either of us. Lol. Just a thought since I had the same concerns. Good luck!

Hi, I haven't told my boss yet I think I will say something when I get back from Vacation (going today-yay!) I will be about 14 week so I might try and wait until 16 weeks, I guess it all depends on how I am showing, we just had our reviews so I didn't want to tell him then (even though one of my goals is to go to an international conference to present in the first quarter of 09 - somehow I don't think I will be doing that!). I am hoping that they will start talking about Maternity leave around September, I am lucky, there is another lady at work who is pregnant and due in October so I can see what she is getting for maternity as well. Take Care, Anna

The communication skills- If there is another baby there they start talking(baby talk) earlier rather then not having any one there. They learn that thinks take time, and they learn by seeing other people do things (ex. cleaning, eating, potty training, playing with others.

I just think that if you are going to go back to work don't let anyone make you feel bad about it. You can find different kinds of daycare settings just look for the one that makes you feel the most comfortable if that is an at home daycare or a center or just a stay at home mom. Don't feel bad about it you will have plenty of time to spend with your child after work and on the weekends.

Hi Ellie- I'm actually stressed about that in reverse. Right now I work at home- I make enough money now, but I'm worried that after having a baby and being more distracted/ getting less work done, I won't generate enough income to supplement my husband with what we need. I really want to stay at home and work because I love my job, and I want to be around my baby more, but I'm afraid that might be selfish. I don't want my baby to not have a few of the things that I grew up with because we can't afford it. I think we're going to feel guilty no matter what we do!

I am worried about what I am going to do with work but that is because I am a daycare provider. I know that I am going to need some time off but I don't want to take to much and leave the families that I care for waiting for me to come back.

Before I had my son I was working at a job, I had the normal 6-8 weeks off I wanted to use all that time when he was born so I worked up till the day that I started having contractions just so my vacation/leave didn't start early.

There is nothing wrong with putting your child in daycare, I personally think that they learn alot more communication skills by being in a daycare, they get to interact with other children, they learn how to act around them, they also learn there manners, and how to share. Don't let anyone make you feel bad about putting your child in daycare while you work to support your family. Just find a daycare that you are happy with.

Hi, I just saw your message on the 12 week forum about staying at home vs going back to work. I really think you should do what YOU want to do and not worry about what other people think. I will need to go back to work, we need the money and I feel like I have spent the past 13 years of my life building a careeer which if I take a few years off I will NEVER be able to get back into because of the type of work I do (I work as a Scientist in a Biotech company and these jobs are very diificult to get). I have 3 sisters all with children, two of them went back to work part time (a great option if you can do it) and one stayed at home full time. All the children are great and are well looked after and none are better than the others so I really think at the end of teh day its what you make of it. I am hoping my compnay will let me come back part time (there is another Scientist here who came pack part time after she had her baby-so fingers crossed they will let me do that as well). If not then I am afraid it will be back to working full time because we can't live on my husbands salary alone. Don't worry about it, see what options are avaialbel to you at your work place and take it from there, you don't have to make any decisions now, see how you feel after the birth as well. Take Care
