On the same day that Grand Theft Auto came out, I found out that I was pregnant.

My husband was playing his new game in the living room, when, on a hunch, I went to CVS to get eye makeup remover and a preggers test just for the hell of it.

I had been having some menstrual-like cramps for a couple of days, but no period, and my boobs were more tender than usual (which always happens before my period.) I also mistakenly thought I was two months late, but it turns out the night I tested, I should have had my period around that time.

I had imagined grand plans of telling my husband we were expecting ... a cute card, telling him at a restaurant, leaving the positive test out on his dresser. But, nope. My panic kicked-in and it was totally unromantic.

I peed on the stick and watched it magically change before my very eyes.

Two lines.

Crap!!!

I yell for my husband to come in there, which interrupted his game-playing. He comes in expecting me to play a joke on him. When he meets me, though, I'm holding up the stick with the two pink lines and the test instructions.

"Look at this," I yell in a panic.

"I think I'm pregnant!!!"

We look at the box, which shows the lines closer together, so we were really doubting the results.

Dumb, huh?

We've taken over 6 tests and all were positive.

no prob. I just jiggle him around when I don't feel he is moving to much or eat a cookie or something with sugar and that helps get him moving a little more lol!

I just read your post, and i think you are fine. It is very difficult to hurt the baby from pushing on your belly. I know you are worried, but honestly she could just be being lazy. You could try and drink some OJ or something high in sugar. This is my 3rd one and when i was pregnant with my 2nd, my oldest fell on my belly a couple of times accidentallyy, and everything was just fine. But if the movement continues to be less, i would say something to your doc, especially if that makes you feel better, because being stressed is not good for her either. GOod luck hun, and if you need any other info, let me know.

Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Sx

I shouldnt feel badly about quitting after maternity leave. Two weeks ago my boss pulled me into his office and really upset me with the worst evaluation ever! I thought I was gonna get fired. I had no indication that evaluations were even done at this company and I had no idea what was coming and no indications before that there was any problem with my performance. The following Monday I went in and gave him a piece of my mind and now I am just counting down til I can quit. Oh and his last assistant got pregnant and wanted to come back part time after her baby and my boss told her it was unacceptable and in turn, she sued him successfully. I think he just doesnt like preggos or something. I shouldnt feel bad about quitting after that. Thanks for the encouragement.
