Hi, i'm Mary Anne I've been with Steven for 11yrs, engaged for 8yrs we've just never made it down the aisle. In June 2004 i miscarried about 7wks into pregnancy and i'm sure i don't have to tell you how devestating that was. Surprisingly and Thankfully i fell pregnant very quickly and on 10th June 2005 our beautiful daughter Aimee was born. I am now expecting again and I'm due March 08. I had a bleed at 11wks which really freaked us out, thankfully an emergancy scan showed a heartbeat and date scan a wk later showed baby jumping about and waving.

3/10/07

Saw my own midwife today for the 1st time and heard baby's heartbeat for the 1st time too. It took a while and she had to change machines but she found it.I was really starting to worry the longer it was taking to find it cause i've was so sure i've felt little flutters for the past week. It was a strong heartbeat of 157. Also midwife changed my dates so instead of 21/03/08 i'm now due 18/03/08 which is the date i thought from the start i don't know why midwife i saw when i booked in thought that date.

I had emergancy section with Aimee and had loads of problems afterwards. It was 3months before i was discharged from district nurse care. My scar opened and i had to go back into hospital when Aimee was only 10days old for a blood transfusion. Steven got thrown in at deep end cause he was left holding the baby. I had drips in each hand so there was no way of me dealing with Aimee too. I think I'm prob goin to go with the elective section this time, I'm so worried about labouring and ending up with one anyway that i think i could be more prepared for it if i know thats whats happening and recovery from elective seems so much better than from emergancy.

If anyone has any views on this i'd love to hear them.

5/11/07

Had 20wk scan and everything going great, Baby got larger than average legs and big feet. I'm not sure when i'm due now, sonographer dated me as 21/3/08. I see my own midwife on 14/11/07 so hopefully she'll clarify, it's only a few days of difference but i want to know for sure!! We took Aimee with us and Baby was waving to her, she was really excited by it all and can't wait to be a big sister. We didn't ask the sex of the baby as it's the last baby we plan to have so it's the last surprise we'll get. I'm convinced it's another girl but that's because that's what i know. As long as it's healthy i really don't care.

Saturday, 10 Nov
We didn't ask what we're having, we're waiting for the surprise!
10th Dec
Midwife in agreement with me Date definatley 18th March.
02/01/2008
BABY'S COMING ON 12/03/2008
I've been booked for a section on the 12th March. I'll be 39wks and 1day.
We're all so excited. 10wks today!!!!
03/01/2008
I'm getting worried about leaving Aimee for 4 or 5 days, She'll stay with Nana & Papa the night before and they'll bring her to hospital at visting on the 12th. Steven going to meet them outside and he'll bring her in though because i don't want her walking into room seeing the 3 of us and she's a visitor i really want her to feel part of it. My mum will go for a coffee for a half hr to give us time being the 4 of us.
I've tried to explain to Aimee that i have to go to hospital to have the baby and she'll stay with daddy, but she says NO she's coming with me.
I've bought a book called Mummy's having a baby so now that all the Christmas and New Year celebrations are over we're going to make that her new bedtime book, hopefully if we read it often enough she'll have a bit more understanding. I'm sure it'll break my heart more than hers being apart.
When i had Aimee, Steven was at the hospital all day every day and he could be again but kids only allowed at visiting and i really don't want Aimee feeling like she been bombed out and getting sent away to Nana's or Gran's to allow him to come out. Maybe i'll get a good rest ready for the chaos that will descend when get home. I'm so excited now that we know when it's coming and i'm glad we didn't find out the sex of the baby it'll be a wonderful surprise seen as we know when it's coming.
Names - Emily Anne or Aaron Jacob
Haven't made any definate decision on middle names but def goin with Emily or Aaron.

20th Feb 2008

3 weeks to go!

I can't believe 3weeks today and i'll be a mum of 2, we'll be a family of 4. Aimee's getting really excited now and wants the baby out now. I've been so sore recently and i'm all strapped up with support belts, turning round in bed is such an effort and i'm so glad now i am going in a wk early for a section. I've put on 4stone (56lbs), Aaaarrggh!!! I put on 5&half st last time and i was a stone heavier when i fell pregnant this time so i'm only 7lbs away from weight i was before Aimee born. I need to get a fitness plan sorted because if Steven and I are going to make it official this year and get married i want to do it looking and feeling like me!

25th March

Emily Anne arrived on 12th March 2008 at 9.32am she weighed 6lb 12oz and was 49cm long she is an absolute gem and Aimee adores her. We get no kisses anymore because she has to keep them all for Emily.

I feel a little bit sad now this pregnancy is over because i'll never do it again. It's a funny feeling, you will the pregnancy to end so you can meet your little one then are sad it's over. I'm delighted to have two beautiful girls and so is my partner - everyone is asking if we'll try for a boy but we're happy with what we've got. Two healthy adorable girls and the decision had always been made to stop at 2.

Thanks Mary Anne. You are so sweet. She is doing good. I went with her to the doctor yesterday and he said she is in great shape, but seeing her at the doctor was hard. I'm just praying everyday and hoping that pill kicks this cancer's a*s!!! How are you doing?

kay17 - Tuesday, 3 June
Sounds like you have your work cut out for you! But once you get it all done, I bet it will be nice. Is Steve good at stuff like that or are you going to have to hire contractors to do the work? I have seen that show. I know what you mean. How is Emily doing at the moment. Brody finally slept from 9-2:45, Yay! I am so excited to have some rest. Happy wedding planning, keep me posted on all your details. I can't wait to hear all about it!

Hey! Good to hear from you and your new house sounds great! I am so excited for you. Thanks SO much for the prayers. My mom seems to be doing great. She is a fighter and is so tough, doesn't even seem to phase her and she says the meds have no side effects. she is on some super duper pill for cancer called Tarceva, so I am praying every night and day that it works. we are going up this weekend to see her. Alexis and Brody are doing good. Wearing me out, but doing good. I feel like I am constantly cleaning, is it just me or are you in the same boat? If I'm not picking up toys, I am sterilizing bottles! Hard to find time to do anything these days. Well keep me posted on your wedding plans. I am so excited for you!!! Hugs to you and the girls :) K

Man thats fantastic getting that much sleep sounds like heaven. Things haven't been that great with the sleep here as I have been realy sick and Sam wasn't happy because I couldn't keep any food or water down my milk was really low so I was feeding him all the time inbetween throwing up. I felt like I was going to die I cried myself to sleep at one stage. But things are improving the past couple of days and he is feeding better as I am getting better I felt really awfull and was about to give up breastfeeding but hopefully will be able to go a bit longer. I am glad things are going better for yoy you are right a little bit more sleep and you feel like you can cope with more I am sure my turn will come I mean it did with the other kids so here is hoping. Anyway have so much washing and housework to catch up on its not funny so I hope to talk to you soon. Oh last checkup Sam put on 580grams in 2 weeks what a piggy hey?. Take care and I will keep in touch

kay17 - Sunday, 25 May
I know what you mean. I am not used to this either. Alexis was a totally different baby, really easy. I did find an awesome swaddling blanket though and it seems to help him sleep longer. I ordered it online, its called snug and tug incase you want to google it. I am doing ok. I went and spent the day with my mom today. She is doing really well, acts totally normal. Looking at her, I would never think she had cancer, its weird. I bought her a bunch of stuff to make her feel better and I cleaned her house while she played with the kids. It was really nice. She is such a fighter and told me not to worry. I felt better just being around her and feeling her strength. I plan on going every weekend until she is better. We will know in 8 weeks if the chemo pills are working. Its some super duper expensive medicene and my Nan says the won't even give it out in England thanks to the NHS, its too expensive, but has excellent results. I guess that is the only good thing about having to pay TONS for medical insurance over here. That is great your house sold! Have fun house hunting! And great about the flower girl dresses too. So what do they look like, do you have a link? I am trying to lose these last few pounds myself. I've got 10 pounds until I'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight, but would like to lose 15-20 to look really good for the summer. With all this stress going on, I haven;t had much of an appetite, so maybe the last bit will come off. Loving the gripe water, its working wonders for Brody. My mom told me about it. They don't really use it much over here. Apparently it originated in England, so I am so glad she told me about it because its not really mentioned over here, but I was able to find some at the pharmacy. Well now I am rambling. So glad you got your computer back. I missed you!!!!!! I know you are going to be such a beautiful bride. So happy for you! K

kay17 - Wednesday, 21 May
Yes, she starts treatment on Thursday. There is some new pill that works better on this kind of cancer than chemo. Hardly any side effects either. She won't lose her hair, but it will get curly and she will have a rash. They are optimistic that this medicene will work. Thanks for your prayers. I am totally devestated. Brody is doing great now, thanks to gripe water! That stuff works wonders. He is like a different child!

kay17 - Tuesday, 20 May

Hi there just wondering how you are going? I hope all is well. Things aren't to bad here. Sam is thrieving could do with some more sleep though sometimes I am a walking Zombie other days things are ok. He is my 5th and some days when I am tired I wonder if I am doing it right. He loves the Boob and is putting on good weight at other times he just is eratic feeding and I wonder if he is just windy. He is having more wake times now and is so adorable. Other kids are starting to adjust but must say the days just fly by and I wonder what I have done. Hate my body but don't want to start dieting yet as I would worry about my milksupply as he is allways hungry. So apart from that things are going well. Hope all is ok with you guys and your'e pictures are as cute as buttons. Take care and I will talk to you soon.

Mike is home by 5 oy 6 everynight, so I am lucky in that regard. But having said that, he left today for his annual river trip weekend with the guys. I cried when he left, I think its the hormones. I looked around at my messy house and all of the stuff I needed to do while Brody screamed his head off and Alexis asked for me to make her a drink and I just got overwhelmed. Brody seems to be really fussy unless we are holding him and last night he barely slept at all. I am hoping he starts to get more secure soon, it seems like he only sleeps well if we are cuddling him. He also has his days and nights mixed up! I've lost 30lbs so far and still have 10 to go. I am aiming to lose about 15 though. For me, cutting out the main carbs from my diet like bread, sweets, pasta and potatoes is the key. I eat meat with vegetables and for desert I have berries and a low carb desert. Not sure if they have low carb deserts over there, but here you can get nice ice cream pops that actually aren't that bad. I've also been drinking tea with milk and splenda (artificial sweetner) as it curbs my appetite. I think that combined with my manic schedule of laundry, kids and housework has really helped so far! I love your wedding date choice and can't wait to see pics. I know you are going to be beautiful!!!!!! K

kay17 - Thursday, 1 May
Yay ! 17 is my lucky number, so good choice! My b-day is Dec 17, so not far off. Very exciting and gives you plenty of the time to lose the weight, unlike my situation, hubby is taking us to the beach in June. HELP!!!!! Boobs killing me today, rock hard, I need to pump or feed him but can't seem to get the motivation up to do either! :(

crazyno5 - Thursday, 1 May
Thanks so much for the well wishes. I haven't figured out how to post pictures yet I am having trouble. Things are really hectic will try on weekend when my older kids are home. My son is a wizz on the computer and my Daughter loves to hold Sam heaps so will try then. Hope you are doing ok. Trying to establish some kind of routine here but seems to keep changing. So will talk to you soon was just a quick hello.

crazyno5 - Monday, 28 April
Hi there, So very sorry for not being in contact for so long. I think it was last Monday. Anyway finally had Baby Sam he arrived on his due date at 39 min past midnight. He is 8pounds 2 ounces and 51 cm long so just a lovely size and he is perfect all went well but things have been crazy so just haven't had the time to let you know. He keeps me up all night and sleeps the day away. Is a good feeder my nipples are killing me but he is just so adorable and I am just so relieved he is finally here. My labour started Tuesday night at 7pm and I had him 39 min past midnight so all in all not to long much better than any of my other labours. I didn't get time to have pain relief and did it all natural but afterwards the Afterbirth had trouble coming out so Doc used Forseps to scrap me out that hurt like hell so I feel like I have done a thousand situps and have been quite sore. But anyway I will post some Pics as soon as I get my act together. I hope all is well and I will try to talk to you soon.

kay17 - Sunday, 27 April
Can't get any cuter than that! She is SOOOOO beautiful! Love the little smile. I think she looks just like you! :)

kay17 - Sunday, 27 April
He's latched on and nursed for 2 sessions yesterday and today. I hope its a trend that will stick, we shall see. He seems to be coming around. Yeah, I make it up as I go along too. I don't even warm the water, they said room temp is fine so I just use bottled water and make it up right when I am about to feed him. They say it keeps for an hour at room temp over here and a day in the fridge so rules are a little different here I guess. I've always liked just making it up at room temp though because then there isn't any heating or warming up bottles involved, which always seemed so darn time consuming to me. He doesn't seem to mind it at room temp and neither did A. I am drinking a beer as we speak, but they said as long as I don't feed him within 2 hours of a drink, I am fine. Man, this beer is good! I forgot how nice it was to have a drink here and there. Wish we could meet up for margaritas! :)

kay17 - Friday, 25 April
too cute! Love the shirts! They are both beautiful little girls :)

kay17 - Friday, 25 April
Yeah, its def time consuming, but I'm not soley giving him breast milk, I'm not that good!! He is getting about 1/2 and 1/2. I pump every 4 hours and make about 4 ounces which I split into 2 bottles. They keep for 5 hours at room temp, so it def helps keep the cost of the formula down by doing both, but I've noticed it doesn't keep him full as long. He is hungry quicker after the breast milk. Last night he slept from 10-2 and I considered that a blessing, but the rest of the night he was up every 1.5 hours so it was a little rough. I am not getting too down about it though because I know this is the last time I will have a newborn so trying to cherish this little stage. I liked the pic with his eyes open too :) Do you have any new pics of Emily?

kay17 - Friday, 25 April
Breastfeeding is not going well. I am just not good att it, I've decided. Both of my children have acted like they are absolutely terrified of my boobs. I just can't get the correct hold down and Brody has a little temper, just like Alexis did and I can't handle the intense screaming. I feel bad and just want to make him happy. I am pumping but feel like Daisy the Cow :( I wake up to feed him then go and pump and by the time I am all done, an hour has passed and he is waking up again in 2 hours. How many hours is Emily sleeping at night now? Brody is going about 2.5-3 hours at the most, sometimes less. I am tired but am trying to take a nap when the kids too, which helps. Hope you are good! K
