Hi, i'm Mary Anne I've been with Steven for 11yrs, engaged for 8yrs we've just never made it down the aisle. In June 2004 i miscarried about 7wks into pregnancy and i'm sure i don't have to tell you how devestating that was. Surprisingly and Thankfully i fell pregnant very quickly and on 10th June 2005 our beautiful daughter Aimee was born. I am now expecting again and I'm due March 08. I had a bleed at 11wks which really freaked us out, thankfully an emergancy scan showed a heartbeat and date scan a wk later showed baby jumping about and waving.

3/10/07

Saw my own midwife today for the 1st time and heard baby's heartbeat for the 1st time too. It took a while and she had to change machines but she found it.I was really starting to worry the longer it was taking to find it cause i've was so sure i've felt little flutters for the past week. It was a strong heartbeat of 157. Also midwife changed my dates so instead of 21/03/08 i'm now due 18/03/08 which is the date i thought from the start i don't know why midwife i saw when i booked in thought that date.

I had emergancy section with Aimee and had loads of problems afterwards. It was 3months before i was discharged from district nurse care. My scar opened and i had to go back into hospital when Aimee was only 10days old for a blood transfusion. Steven got thrown in at deep end cause he was left holding the baby. I had drips in each hand so there was no way of me dealing with Aimee too. I think I'm prob goin to go with the elective section this time, I'm so worried about labouring and ending up with one anyway that i think i could be more prepared for it if i know thats whats happening and recovery from elective seems so much better than from emergancy.

If anyone has any views on this i'd love to hear them.

5/11/07

Had 20wk scan and everything going great, Baby got larger than average legs and big feet. I'm not sure when i'm due now, sonographer dated me as 21/3/08. I see my own midwife on 14/11/07 so hopefully she'll clarify, it's only a few days of difference but i want to know for sure!! We took Aimee with us and Baby was waving to her, she was really excited by it all and can't wait to be a big sister. We didn't ask the sex of the baby as it's the last baby we plan to have so it's the last surprise we'll get. I'm convinced it's another girl but that's because that's what i know. As long as it's healthy i really don't care.

We didn't ask what we're having, we're waiting for the surprise!
10th Dec
Midwife in agreement with me Date definatley 18th March.
02/01/2008
BABY'S COMING ON 12/03/2008
I've been booked for a section on the 12th March. I'll be 39wks and 1day.
We're all so excited. 10wks today!!!!
03/01/2008
I'm getting worried about leaving Aimee for 4 or 5 days, She'll stay with Nana & Papa the night before and they'll bring her to hospital at visting on the 12th. Steven going to meet them outside and he'll bring her in though because i don't want her walking into room seeing the 3 of us and she's a visitor i really want her to feel part of it. My mum will go for a coffee for a half hr to give us time being the 4 of us.
I've tried to explain to Aimee that i have to go to hospital to have the baby and she'll stay with daddy, but she says NO she's coming with me.
I've bought a book called Mummy's having a baby so now that all the Christmas and New Year celebrations are over we're going to make that her new bedtime book, hopefully if we read it often enough she'll have a bit more understanding. I'm sure it'll break my heart more than hers being apart.
When i had Aimee, Steven was at the hospital all day every day and he could be again but kids only allowed at visiting and i really don't want Aimee feeling like she been bombed out and getting sent away to Nana's or Gran's to allow him to come out. Maybe i'll get a good rest ready for the chaos that will descend when get home. I'm so excited now that we know when it's coming and i'm glad we didn't find out the sex of the baby it'll be a wonderful surprise seen as we know when it's coming.
Names - Emily Anne or Aaron Jacob
Haven't made any definate decision on middle names but def goin with Emily or Aaron.

20th Feb 2008

3 weeks to go!

I can't believe 3weeks today and i'll be a mum of 2, we'll be a family of 4. Aimee's getting really excited now and wants the baby out now. I've been so sore recently and i'm all strapped up with support belts, turning round in bed is such an effort and i'm so glad now i am going in a wk early for a section. I've put on 4stone (56lbs), Aaaarrggh!!! I put on 5&half st last time and i was a stone heavier when i fell pregnant this time so i'm only 7lbs away from weight i was before Aimee born. I need to get a fitness plan sorted because if Steven and I are going to make it official this year and get married i want to do it looking and feeling like me!

25th March

Emily Anne arrived on 12th March 2008 at 9.32am she weighed 6lb 12oz and was 49cm long she is an absolute gem and Aimee adores her. We get no kisses anymore because she has to keep them all for Emily.

I feel a little bit sad now this pregnancy is over because i'll never do it again. It's a funny feeling, you will the pregnancy to end so you can meet your little one then are sad it's over. I'm delighted to have two beautiful girls and so is my partner - everyone is asking if we'll try for a boy but we're happy with what we've got. Two healthy adorable girls and the decision had always been made to stop at 2.

I am having to take it easy. I've had long lasting tightness in my belly and when I called the ob today they said if it didn't go away, I needed to go to the hospital. They told me to drink 64 oz of water in 2 hours to see if that helped, it did, but I am still having the tight feeling. As for my hubby, he's a horrible cook! His mom lives nearby though so I am sure she'll be babying him! He's an only child, so its terrible. She can help with Alexis too though so that will be nice. So how much longer for you?

Ooh the new house sounds nice. We moved when Alexis was 3 months old and that wasn't so bad. Just don't put a lot of effort into the nursery because you will be starting all over once you move! I learned that lesson the hard way. Exciting about you getting married too. You all have been together about the same amount of time me and my hubby have. We met in 1997. You look great to me in your photos. Ignore the meanies, you'll be back to normal before too long and just think this is the last time our bodies are transforming into big preggie bodies like this. Its kind of bitter sweet for me. I hate being pregnant but love having a new born. I can't wait for this little guy. I really think you are having a boy. I can't wait to see photos of little Aaron Jacob :) You take care. Not long now, you lucky girl! What are your cravings these days? Sadly I'm onto anything and everything :)
Hugs

I'm massive too and am also sick of the unsolicited comments! A b*tchy woman at my work told me that she went to a baby shower over the weekend for a girl that was one month ahead of me and she was no where near as big as me. She went on to tell me that this girl has only gained weight in her stomache unlike me, she just has a little basketball and then she smirked at me. She also said that despite me losing all of that weight in the beginning, I sure made up for lost time. B*tch!!! excuse my french. She's overwieght and never had kids but I don't point that out to her! I can't stand the woman. Who says that to someone? Really! My eyes filled up with tears and I called my mom up boo hooing. I'll never be one of those people that looks cute pregnant. I join the whale family and blow up. Someone else told me I'd blown up since the last time they saw me, yep she used those words. So don't worry, you are not alone. THe main thing is we are having healthy babies and will get our old bodies back in no time. At least there is a reason for us being big. I am getting over a stomache virus so am feeling a little rough these days. Heartburn is excruciating! I am sure this kid is going to have TONS of hair :) Give Aimee a squeeze for me. I wish we lived closer, play dates for the girls would be fun. I think you are having a boy for some reason too! I can't wait to find out!! Not long for you at all now!

i really hope everything works out for you! and goes according to plan....ive had about 6 sharp pains in my cervix the last 2 days and im kinda worried...i hope my cervix isnt dialating...

That's terrible about the midwife complaining! Luckily they were all pretty nice to me. You have a good price on formula there. Over here its $25 a can and that is if baby just takes the regular kind and doesn't have any allergies or soy formula requirements. It does last about a week when they are small, but gradually that week turns into 3 or 4 days! I pumped for 9 weeks with Alexis, that was until I went back to work and then I just couldn't do it anymore. I was spending too much time in the bathroom and boss wasn't so happy about it! Plus I felt gross and sticky after doing it, there were no showers at work. If breastfeeding doesn't work out this time, I am going to try to pump for at least 4 months to save some money. I am gaining so much weight lately. I feel like a fat beast! Ugh. I can't wait to go on a diet, how crazy does that sound!

Good to hear from you. I was starting to worry something might have happened. I feel ya on the busy season. I am exhausted from all the running around. I love your photos. Aimee is such a little princess, so cute!!! I love the photo of you all after dinner. I notice you have your hats on from christmas crackers :) I special ordered some and insisted that everyone wear their hat on Christmas day for dinner despite my inlaws being american. They don't do Christmas crackers over here so I am determined to keep up the tradition! Yay for March 12. I know you are excited!! An end of pregnancy is in sight and if you are like me, you can't wait for that! I am getting HUGE. So much for not gaining any weight. At this rate, I'll be inducted into the humback whale family hall of fame in no time! Ugh! Can't wait to go on a diet and feel attractive again. No energy whatsoever and feel like I am carrying around a bowling ball! I'm 24 weeks today, can't wait for the final week countdown! Happy New Year! Hugs ((())))

Happy New Year Mary Anne! Hope you and your family have a safe and happy 2008!

kay17 - Tuesday, 18 Dec
I am taking Zantac for the heartburn and it really works wonders! Not sure if you have it over there, but its great! My tailbone is sore, but I'll be ok. It will heal and like you said, I won't have to see any of those people ever again. I am so clumsy these days! I know you must be excited. You really don't have that much longer until baby is here for you. I can't wait for photos and to find out what you are having! How are you decorating the baby's room? Hugs to you and Aimee. I know she will be a good sister, already wanting to get something for her baby. Alexis keeps yelling at my tummy and saying hurry up and come out and play with me! :)

Hey- Just had to share my embarrassing story. So tomorrow is my b-day. My hubby took me out last night for dinner and a night at the Ritz Carlton hotel to celebrate. I was so excited, but was a little down because I feel fat and unattractive at this stage in pregnancy. Depsite that I put on a fairly decently cute outfit and was all ready for dinner. It was raining last night so everything was wet and slippery. My husband went to get the car and I was walking towards him and suddenly out of nowhere in front of about 100 people there for a christmas party, I slipped on the marble floor and completely busted my butt and just wiped out. At first, I was worried about the baby because it was a bad fall, but I landed straight on my butt and taibone. Baby is fine because I can feel him kicking, but my tailbone is so sore and I was so embarrassed. I even had a lady come up to me and tell me it was ok to cry because she knew how embarrassed I must be. At that point I lost it and just began to boo-hoo in front of everyone hearing several people say...did you see that girl fall? Two men helped me off of the ground and my hubby ran to come and help me. Talk about an embarrassing and scary pregnancy moment and all while trying to celebrate my b-day! Ugh! Heartburn is unreal right now, but other than that and a sore tailbone, I'm ok! Alexis is very excited for Christmas. She can't wait. She's such a tomboy, she wants a train and some toy cars for Christmas :)

Hey! Just checking in with you. How is everything going? I am finally not throwing up anymore although severe heartburn has kicked in now :) Always something with me! I give up on being symptom free. Hope you are doing well. Congrats on being in the 3rd trimester! Yay!

kay17 - Saturday, 6 Oct
I know. I am normally not a big drinker! And now I want a beer or a sangria :) I had a good day today and wasn't sick. I even went to work! Yay! If you don't get a c-section again, ask your doc to strip your membranes. They did that for me with Alexis at 38 weeks and my water broke the next day. I was only in labor for 6 hours and pushed 3 times! I am going to see if they will strip them again at 38 weeks. I got the epidural and didn't feel a thing-so my labor and delivery was really not bad at all. She was 7lbs 7oz. I would recommend that--it makes things move along quicker and then you don't have to deal with surgery recovery either, which I hear is so much easier!
