My profile

I am married & have 2 wonderful kids ages 13 & 4. I have had 4 miscarriages and 1 ectopic pregnancy in between my 2 kids. I was just told this February I would not have anymore kids after 3 unsucessful laser procedures on my cervix (long story) & my husband and I were ok with that given that we have 1 boy & 1 girl and the large age span between the kids, so this spring we had a HUGE garage sale and I got rid of ALL my baby stuff. (I mean everything) We converted our spare bedroom into an office and I have been counting the ways I will spend my free time with my youngest going off to kindergarten next fall. My BFP came as a HUGE surprise this August and has been very big emotional shock. I am on progesterone and high risk (for many reasons) so I hope to sneak thru this pregnancy with a lot of support from friends and family. ;-)

Nov. 3 We learned via amnio and sono we are definately having another girl!! This pregnancy has had a few bumps in the raod, but I have gotten thru them with the support of friends enjoy chatting with new Mommies, learning from them and sharing my 2 cents--even if its often unsolicited :-)

How`s my pregnancy doing?

It't not as bad as it was yesterday. I acually didnt have any when I wiped...sorry tmi.. and I had a little in my underwear. So it has definitly gotten better. Yah the Dr didnt seem too concerned they did an u/s and checked my cervix. I will go back Monday to find out if its caused from an infection. Hopefully it will be gone though by then. I have not had any cramping....thank god! I feel fine! Thanks a lot!! Talk to you soon!

I didn't know you had 6 pets!! Geez! Why does the one pooch have to be in the basement? :( Are they mean or som'n?
Ugh, I HATE crowded places! It's funny though, b/c I've been much better about that since I got prego.. I can handle the crowds a little better now, I don't feel as claustrophobic as I used to. Less anxiety and stuff.. I love these hormones! I seriously might have to look into progesterone replacement after baby's born! I;m worried I'm gonna be a total wreck once she's born and all these lovely hormones go POOF, GONE! Only time will tell... My doc has a head's up on my crazies, so I know she'll be there for me every step of the way. She's so great :)

We're waiting on the electrician to get here and give us an estimate.. he's going to rewire the whole house: Fun Fun ;)
It is GD freezing here! Teens and snowy. Brrrrr!!!!!! Stay warm !

ready2bMom - 12.9 hours ago
I had trouble sleeping, but did sleep in theis am, so it's all good!
You and youy food dreams! Too funny.. I had a doozie last night where I was downing shots of tequila and trying to tell myself it's not bad for the baby.. how odd is that??
I don't even like tequila lol.
That's too bad the hubby doesn't take more interest in little Emmerson!.. I guess he's one of those "out of sight out of mind kinda guys.." All the more reason for him to SEE HER on U/S once in a damn while!
Scott won't be coming along to my u/s Monday.. he's been to them all so far and I've had many and will continue to have them every two weeks, so I'll give him a break ;)
My doc office is 45 minutes away, so there goes half his work day when he comes along! Luckily he's his own boss, so when he does want to come he has the option.

What are you up to today? Scott's upstairs working on the nursery and I'm just doing the usual cleaning and organizing.. never ends, does it? Especially when you have 4 pets (and in your case two kids and pets!)
Have a good one :)

Hi, thank you. Yes I have been resting and taking it easy. I wont know until Monday if I have some sort of infection or something. The spotting is better than yesterday. Do you get a lot of discharge?...sorry tmi. What is normal? I am staying positive and hoping that this passes and baby and I are good! We are almost half way! Talk to you soon.....have a nice day!

9 oz! What's up with that?? That's crazy that all week you've been stressing that she's gonna be huge and here she is in the 30% percentile! I guess they're not always accurate on the weight via u/s.. two different techs at two different docs confirmed that Caleigh was about 10.5 oz last week! So I'm guessing they're right and she'll be closer to 11+ on Monday!

I'm glad your doc put your mind at ease on the weight issue, silly girl ;) At least now you'll know there's some leeway there.. most girls I know gained at least 30 lbs and they are all first timers! Here you are on #3 amd smaller than most chicas at this stage. Trust me, you're doing A-OK!

Glad to hear Emmerson's still looking great and all is well!
Enjoy your weekend :)

ya it comes and goes and feels so much better when i lay down.. but its not in my abdominal area.. its more like my higher tummy-ish area!!..where are your cramps!? do braxton hicks cause any harm?

ready2bMom - 37.5 hours ago
Ooh, yeah that sucks! How much do you think the glucose screening test costs?? Is it outrageous? I think it's a pretty important one, so I'd do what you can to get it donw. Chances are you won't have any trouble with gestational diabetes, but shi*, you just never know.
That's just my opinion!
Haha your SIL is probably pissed, but she can go piss up a rope. I'm a fiesty one today!
Girl, you are insane in the head if you honestly think the doc will tell you you're looking large and in charge.. You are well within normal weight gain range for 19 weeks! You're too hard on yourself, you really are. I can be the same way sometimes, it drives my DH batty, but somehow now that I am prego, I am MORE confident.. It's the hormones straightening me out, I just know it! Don't get me wrong, I know I'm a little pudgy and eating probably far too much, but I'm prego for cryin out loud! Now's the time! :)
We do have another room in case of kid #2, but that one is downstairs here and we use it as a guest room. It would work just fine if we wnd up staying here, but I really don't think we will. This house is just so old with so many problems popping up all the time. It's a cute old house, but just not gonna be great for babies, you know? But I think it's best we stay here a while and focus on paying off some debt and focus on baby before jumping into a house payment we can;t afford comfortably.
My dogs are well behaved, but I just worry! They were always great with my niece and nephew, but I'd like to have a simple option to keep them separated from baby if need be. We at least have a fenced-in yard here so I can put them out there at least. I;m gonna feel sooo bad when baby comes and these pups are all confused about why momma's not giving them all the attention :( I'll do my best to balance the attention with them and the cats too though.
I can not get motivated today! It seems like an every-other-day thing for me. I did go to bed at 4 AM! Which doesn't help!

Funny you should mention pet sitting... One of the main reasons we aren't heading down to my mom's for turkey day is because we have no one to stop in on all our stinky animals :) Scott's fam usually does it, but they are all living a half hour away now, so that's a lot to ask of them! We used to have a pet sitter who lived right in town here who we trusted and paid well to stop in 3 times a day-- she even came holidays and middle of the night, etc. The dogs and cats loved her and we sooo trusted her, but she moved away! Now we're left to find someone who's willing to stop in on holidays, which isn't easy to fine. We aren't close with our neighbors at all and I just plain don't trust anyone I don't know really well.. All our friends live too far away, too.. we are pretty isolated up here!
That's funny about your SIL-- she sounds like a real piece of work! I'd be like, "Hells NO, BIT**!!!"
Well, that's great that you can avoid seeing the outlaws for T-day this year. PHEW!
Our nursery was two small guest rooms that Scott turned into one big room for baby.. it's just a mess and still in the beginning stages-- we are TOTAL procrastinators and Scott works so hard at the office and is so tired when he comes home, that it takes a lot to get him motivated to work on it.. Obviously I can't help right now during this dusty, fume-filled stage :(
We actually almost bought a new house a couple months ago-- we LOVED it and it sat on 8 acres with woods surrounding it! It was our dream home and brand new, 5 beds 3 baths.. long story short, it didn't work out. Once in a while Scott and i will picture ourselves getting the nursery ready there, a nice new room for baby. It had a full, finished, gorgeous basement, which would have been perfect for separating the dogs from baby for the first few months and we could have put the litter box down there for the cats. I pictured bringing the baby to the woods and back to the pond.. I love nature. Anyhoo, I'm a littel bummed still that we didn't buy it, but I think there's a good reason it didn't work out for us. Must be a better house out there somewhere! But at this point, it'll be a while before we move.. it'll be interesting to try and move with a baby! Oh another thing about that house is it's right near my SIL's house, so they would have been able to pet sit no problem!
My bp seems fine still! So far so good, who woulda thunk it?
Good luck at 4. Let me know how it goes!
My next u/s is Monday. i sure hope insurance is covering most of this.. does yours?

hi :) you know, I am feeling better as far as the whole throat thing goes but it is still in my chest. I have been taking mucinex and so I have what seems like insane amounts of snot comming out of my nose haha. You should see my face! It's all red and swollen. I was in tears this morning just DONE with this all!!! Why is this crap hanging around so long and wtf! so yeah in some smal aspect I am doing better. I still don't have a voice but I can get out the words if I really try. *sigh* I am so tired I totally went off on my oldest daughter this morning before school. I got about 4 hrs of sleep last night and she insisted on sitting on the floor crying about her shoe being in a knot! my youngest daughter almost at the same exact time spilt yougurt all over my bed/blankets, herself and the carpet...I lost it...I'm so done with feeliong like crap. My neighbor comes over and just looks so bad for me lol my brother calls every morning and tells me I need more sleep lol THANKS yes I KNOW. I''m just on the edge. I have a dry cough that BURNS like hell. Like I said the mucinex has done wonders for my nose but as far as getting out the mucus from my lungs, well I've coughed it up twice. It was really thick and dark. It also had streaks of blood in it. I went online and it said it could be from my nose bleeding or it could be something more serious but at this point I just don't care. I just want it to go AWAY. It started as a sore throat...now a week later I'm voiceless and spewing mucus from ever orfus of my body!! mmmmm I'm craving pankackes right now...oh I've lost weight too...I dread weighing myself but I can tell...sorry to be so complainy lately but I'm usually a champ with being sick...this has just kicked my but...hard.

I am heading to the Drs now....I hope baby is ok! I am so worried. Have you ever heard of brown discharge or what it might be??

ready2bMom - Friday, 21 November
Oh good luck at your u/s tomorrow! Hope your giant baby is still doing great (HAHA KIDDING!!!) ;)
Let me know how it goes and if doc thinks we're looking at giving birth to a couple-a linebackers..

ready2bMom - Friday, 21 November
Okay, these cravings are getting out of control! Well, thet insatiable APPETITE that is! Holy cow, I'm starving 24/7! Are you having this especially bad these last few days or no mor than usual? Cause I am ridiculous: no matter how much I woof down, my stomach is growling out of control and begging to be fed an hour later. Right now I want Thanksgiving TURKEY sooooo bad! I'm so bummed we won't make it to my mom's this year, she is the best cook!
Scott sis will have it and I'm sure she'll it'll be great, but darn, I miss my own momma's home cooking. haha
I know she's bummed we can't make it :( I feel bad, but what are ya gonna do? Hard to balance these things sometimes.

Just wanted to vent about my EXTREME HUNGER lol. It's 1 am and I'm still awake.. how is that possible since I got up at 5 am this am (technically, yesterday!)...

ready2bMom - Friday, 21 November
PS: Now I want donuts: Damn you! ;)

ready2bMom - Friday, 21 November
Good one, thanks for the tip! I'll have to check it out.. I saw one and tried one out at Target.. it was soft and comfy! I don't know how people use just plain old hard rocking chairs-- ouch!
At this rate, it looks like this damn nursery will never be done in time.. so it'll be like ten years before we even buy the damn furniture! Sheesh.

I know what ya mean about just forcing youself to get moving in the mornings.. I have trouble with that too. Once I'm up and at 'em I do fine, but it's the getting the show on the road that's the hard part!

ready2bmom - Friday, 21 November
So... I didn't crash today, not even for a minute. I was somewhat productive all damn day... You're impressed, go ahead and admit it :)
Hope you had a good day and got all your insane cleaning taken care of!

OurSpringBaby - Thursday, 20 November
Sorry if I scared you about the Gest. Diabetes!!! Good thing I'm going to the Dr. tomorrow, otherwise I'm sure I'd be stressing about it! Even though the tech said I was measuring big, she didn't think it would be enough to change my due date...we'll see what the Dr. says! On the previous U/S that I've had, it was always measuring me a couple days off, so I'm sure if it's just a couple days off they won't move me up.

My maiden name is Garrett.....so I am really liking the idea of using it for his first name. Middle name will be Joseph(after my husbands dad)....so Garrett Joseph Cookman.

Let me know what you googled!!! Technology is great but bad all at the same time!!

Have a great night!

OurSpringBaby - Thursday, 20 November
Oh, by the way, congrats on your little girl!!!! I LOVE the name you've picked out!! Very Cute!!!

OurSpringBaby - Thursday, 20 November
Thanks...I'm glad that we aren't alone!!!! I did freak out a little last week when I found out he was 12 oz.....of course, I was thinking the worst....He is going to be TOO big, what if I have Gest. diabeties...you know all those wonderful thoughts!!! I too have a Dr. appointment tomorrow and I'm going to see what she says. Also, the tech did say that I was measureing big which could mean that my due date is off!! We'll see!!!!!

Jo-Mama - Thursday, 20 November
My daughter was 10 oz at 17 weeks and was born just past her due date at a measly 7 lb, 9 oz. So don't stress. This second baby of mine was 11 oz!

farka - Thursday, 20 November
That is true.. many tall girls wish to be smaller.. for some reason many men wants a petite girls.. .but you don't see this when you are teen.. :) Now I am happy to be the size I am ... :)
Yes, girls in Europe are much thinner then here... sometimes even too much... in Europe we have different problems then fat... there is anorexia trend... which is not good either...

farka - Thursday, 20 November
Actually my mom has already ordered a perfect outfit for Joe to take him home from the hospital. She ordered it right the day we found out the it's a boy... she should get it this following week.. I am excited to see that... it's a set made up directly for taking it home from the hospital. She was so happy about it that I couldn't give him different outfit... .
Yeah, I can immagine that your daughter might be a little mad if her little sister ends up being taller then her...! I remember my teen time when I fought for every inch... LOL.. And in Europe the everage girl seems bigger then here in the US, so I was always the smallest at schools... :)

ready2bMom - Thursday, 20 November
Scott was 7.5 lb..

ready2bMom - Thursday, 20 November
Take a page outta my book and quit being such a perfectionist :) ...Kidding, I wish my OCD kicked in in all the right ways! Instead, I have these crazy counting things I have to do and only certain things in the house have to be perfect (like pics on the wall MUST BE EVEN, etc).. dusting I can take or leave though. I;m a total nut job ;)

ready2bMom - Thursday, 20 November
You are too flippin funny, I love you, girl!!!

I really don't think miss Emmerson's gonna be a ten-pounder! If so, then we'll be in the same boat cause I know Caleigh's at least 11 oz by now! I was 6.5 pounds at birth, so I highly doubt Caleigh'll be huge, but I guess you never know!
If it makes you feel any better, my friend's son was 9.3 oz and Rayna really didn't get all that big.. she gained 30 pounds and is alreay back to looking like a frigging swimsuit model!! If only I can be so lucky!
