I signed up long ago but had not been on in a couple of weeks so I lost all of my information. I did not have much so it was no big deal to me. I figure now I should write a little something about myself and my pregnancy. Lord knows that if anyone asks me how I am doing I always have complaints about being pregnant in which I shouldn't but I am human.

Right now I am in my 24th week of pregnancy. We are having a girl and she is mine and my husbands first child. These past 5 1/2 months have been like a long rollercoaster ride that is still continuing and I want so badly to get off. I have had morning sickness from week 4. By week 7 it was inbearable. I cried a lot because I was so nauseated and I threw up 3 - 5 times a day if not more. I had to cover my nose each time I went to the bathroom because I could not take the smell of my own urine. By week 16 I felt so much better but I still continue to have morning sickness and I get nauseated. Now I have the dreadful hearburn. Let's hope that the medication my doctor prescibed works. I am sure it will since I have not had "an attack" today. Let me tell you it's freaking hard to say no to those juices and fruits that I love, orange and grapefruit. I think maybe now I can eat the fruit. I'll attempt it tomorrow, it's too late now.

I just bought my baby her first ornament. I found it at Hallmark, it's a stork holding a sack. It's so cute. My mother-in-law already sent gifts for the baby. I was so excited when I opened the package today. She lives in CT and I live in TX so I know it's hard for her not to be here for this baby. She calls weekly to find out how I am doing and with me being so sick it was great to know she cared. She even sent the baby a bib that says "I Love My Daddy" and daddy was sure excited to see it.

I hear you on the new house and cars. I have always worked full time and have loved my job.In fact, I make more than my husband and it has enabled us to purchase several fun things that neither one of us could have done on our own. Now I want to stay home and it doesn't seem possible because of all the financial obligations we have. Yes, babies are very much blessings but I feel like having a panic attack every time I think of hte costs. Good luck to you!

Where we live there is a childcare resource and referral center. You may want to check and see if your state sponsors one of those. Childcare is outrageously expensive, isn't it!

just thought I would mention that I live in Arizona and last week or so there was an amber alert announced when a father came back from work to find his baby and babysitter gone without a trace. he found the babysitter on craigs list and she was actually only 15 or so but had lied about her age. her refernces had checked out ok. point being, i dont think craigs list is a good place to look for someone to watch your child. and even if u find someplace that does reference checks, do it again. good luck on your findings

Men!! I have ups and downs with my hubby also. This is our 2nd baby and he has never read a baby book. He just waits until I tell him. When I was pg with my first he still would drink on the weekends. It will definitely change once the baby is here. Right now they still don't have any real responsibility towards the baby so they don't see the point in changing yet! Once your little one arrives and he has to get up sometimes in the night (esp. if you are going to formula feed - he can definitely help) he will probably change. They really fall in love with the little ones too!! It's amazing to watch the love b/t a dad and child. Don't get me wrong... I still do most of the work regarding the baby but I also look at the work that he does that I don't.. like mowing the lawn, fixing all house stuff, trash, and bathrooms! I will definitely take baby duty over those yucky chores! Good luck!

I'm hoping I go in next Wed for my appointment and I'm at like 5cm!! That way I can go right in... Oh how I wish :)
If I'm scheduled for Easter 'eve' my sister is gonna take my youngest over night for the Easter Bunny to visit. Thats the whole reason why I wanted to have him a few days before. Oh well, I could be freaking out for nothing.. Maybe he will do it Friday or even Sunday. I will be watching for your birth story :)

sweetwhitney23 - Wednesday, 12 Mar
Well I went to my doctor today to set everything up and he wants to wait til next week to schedule everything. He said my induction will be on Easter weekend. We will discuss which day and time next week. He didn't even check me, I was a little disappointed. Said he is gonna check me then :( So looks like you get to have your little one before me!

my docs said jacuzzi is not safe during pregnancy due to temp. but if not hot, i guess its ok. just looking out for you... i used to go to jacuzzi at least 3 times a week while i was 1 month preg cause i didnt know. take care and good luck

sweetwhitney23 - Tuesday, 11 Mar
I am due the same day as you and my OB wants to induce me a week early. I am shooting for the same day as you the 19th so it dosen't mess with Easter weekend :) Are you being induced for medical reasons? I'm kinda nervous because my doctor is inducing me based on HIS schedule (Vacation). I have an appointment tomorrow to be checked and to talk about my options.. Good luck :)

I forgot, if there is no number, it may not have come from walmart and without that number they can tell you it didn't come from walmart...the only things i know that don't have numbers are packaged underwear and socks, and NFL and/or Starter items that walmart carries.

jpcm - Friday, 29 Feb
Hi, for ANY clothes from walmart...look inside on the tag, usually under all information like on bottom top of tag, should have a long number(UPC) number...the only way to tell what season it was from is to have the tag, and even with tag it will just read something like S-06 which would mean Summer of 06'. Without that number and seasonal code...you can call your local walmart service desk and ask them if they still carry the item you have by telling to look up (UPC) number on inside of clothes. Even if it is a 3 pc suit, the same (UPC) number would be in all 3 pcs showing they go together. That's why so many people get caught switching tags...they don't realize number is on the tags. Hope this helps. With that number they can even tell you if it has been clearanced any or what regular price is.

Have you tried taking fiber to regulate yourself? The doctor told me that I could take fiber and gave me a stool softener to help.

1stbaby0308 - Thursday, 28 Feb
You probably will poop during delivery, just about every woman does. Don't even worry about it - there will be so much going on you won't even notice and they'll clean you up right away.

Jo-Mama - Thursday, 28 Feb
Yeah, I heard that everyone poops a bit during labour. They say that if you are worried about it, you won't push correctly and it will make labour that much worse. You can't push out a baby and hold poop in at the same time! So I guess we just have to get over the ick factor and realize that whatever happens, happens.
