I signed up long ago but had not been on in a couple of weeks so I lost all of my information. I did not have much so it was no big deal to me. I figure now I should write a little something about myself and my pregnancy. Lord knows that if anyone asks me how I am doing I always have complaints about being pregnant in which I shouldn't but I am human.

Right now I am in my 24th week of pregnancy. We are having a girl and she is mine and my husbands first child. These past 5 1/2 months have been like a long rollercoaster ride that is still continuing and I want so badly to get off. I have had morning sickness from week 4. By week 7 it was inbearable. I cried a lot because I was so nauseated and I threw up 3 - 5 times a day if not more. I had to cover my nose each time I went to the bathroom because I could not take the smell of my own urine. By week 16 I felt so much better but I still continue to have morning sickness and I get nauseated. Now I have the dreadful hearburn. Let's hope that the medication my doctor prescibed works. I am sure it will since I have not had "an attack" today. Let me tell you it's freaking hard to say no to those juices and fruits that I love, orange and grapefruit. I think maybe now I can eat the fruit. I'll attempt it tomorrow, it's too late now.

I just bought my baby her first ornament. I found it at Hallmark, it's a stork holding a sack. It's so cute. My mother-in-law already sent gifts for the baby. I was so excited when I opened the package today. She lives in CT and I live in TX so I know it's hard for her not to be here for this baby. She calls weekly to find out how I am doing and with me being so sick it was great to know she cared. She even sent the baby a bib that says "I Love My Daddy" and daddy was sure excited to see it.

Yeah, I heard that everyone poops a bit during labour. They say that if you are worried about it, you won't push correctly and it will make labour that much worse. You can't push out a baby and hold poop in at the same time! So I guess we just have to get over the ick factor and realize that whatever happens, happens.

Well, I hate to be the one to break it to you, but just about everyone poops on the delivery table. I was worried about it too before my first son when people told me, but believe me you don't even realize you did it and they just wisk it away.

Thanks for your input on the leg pain. I too, only experience this pain sporatically so I don't know if the belt would help me very much either. I wasn't for sure what was causing this, but the added pressure from the baby does make a lot of sense. Congrats on your baby and maybe we'll both find relief from this soon!!

I had terrible heartburn my whole pregnancy. I gave birth on January 28 and I have not had any heartburn yet so I would say right after you give birth it goes away! Good Luck!

You're doing entirely too much for your shower. You should be involved, but on a minimal level. The only thing I did for mine was give my hostesses my address list and I created the invitations with the help of a friend who works with my husband. He works at a print shop. I'm sorry you have to do so much at your own shower.

I just had an ultra sound last Wednesday and was told the baby was a little over 4 pounds. Just the Friday before they said he was 2 pounds, but that was when he was breech. He flipped over the weekend. My husband is 6'4' and I am 5'6', same as you, and the baby is in the 90th percentile for length right now. However, my acupuncturist who is a midwife said that those ultrasounds are not so reliable for all of that information at this point. In fact, my cousin just had a baby and they told her it would be very small and it was 8 pounds, so who knows. We probably don't need an ultra sound to tell us that our babies will be tall.

Oh wow..I haven't been told that YET...but I am expecting to as well since my husband is 6'4 and im 5'7..I can't see our little girl being tiny...!
Do they know for sure that you will have to be induced? I like to know how they can determine the weight of a baby....ever wonder?

binkybobo - Tuesday, 22 Jan
I was told last week that my baby is now between 3 and 3.5 lbs.. So that is above average as well..I do not think that it is anything to worry about at this point because all of our babies are not going to be born the same size, some will be born 5lbs and some will be born 9lbs..so it is only normal that they not all weight the same throughout our whole pregnancies:)

He has a birth certificat but it has his adoptive parents name on it. So do the ones he tried to get :( We'll have to try and serch the online databases...thanx for the idea :)

Of course you should be involved in the planning of your baby shower. It is for you and baby and things should be as you like it. The girls who did mine asked me TONS of questions while planning mine because hubby and I follow a certain lifestyle and they wanted to make sure they didn't do anything to violate that. We eat kosher, so food had to be prepared by some ladies who eat the same way we do. My hostesses of the shower just handled the games, prizes, decorating, while my other two friends took care of the food. It was a WONDERFUL event and I have to say that I wasn't disappointed that only 20 of the 40 I invited showed up. It was much more cozy that way. I hope you have a truly blessed shower. Good luck!

Thanks for the 4D info. I really want the sex to be a surprise, so I was kinda hesitant about going to this ultrasound. Now I'm looking forward to it.

I would like to thank everyone for their comments. I am sorry that I can't respond to them all or it would take me all day. I just found this site and absolutely love it. It's nice to know that there are so many women in the same boat as I am. None of my close friends or close relatives have had children except for one who said she was sick all 9 months. I do have a cousin who I just got in contact with that is 20 weeks and she has not experienced morning sickness, lucky her. So it's a blessing that there is somewhere I can go and actually find women who I can actually relate to. I know I will change my mind on having more children. There are no words to describe the feeling you get when you see your babies heartbeat for the first time, then hearing it, and seeing the little legs and arms move. I was in misery for 8 long weeks but I know it will all be worth it when I hold my baby for the first time.

stephandisaac - Wednesday, 26 Sep
Hi there, read your comment and just wanted to let you know that I'm in the same boat as you. I have been so sick too, but actually feeling pretty good so far today. This is my second...my little boy is only 20 months. He is so good though. I didn't have any morning sickness with him...hoping that means this one is a girl. Well, since we are the same age and due on the same day, keep me posted :)

I just wanted to say, I have not enjoyed a single pregnancy so far. I am on my 4th and after each and every single baby I said very certainly 'We are NEVER having another baby agian!' Well cleary it is all a distant memory when baby fever kick in. I truly thought I was going to die with my last pregnancy. I didn't know a body could be so sick for so long without having a terminal disease. But my son is such a joy every second of the day. It was completly worth every second. I encourage you (and anyone else reading) not to make any permanant birth control choices untill your first is at least a year old and your out of the pregnant gloom (which does go away by month 4 usually) Although I was very upset to find out we were having another child, (this one wasn't planned)now that the shock has worn off We are so excited about it!

beachedmom - Wednesday, 26 Sep
Hi~The '24/7 sickness' will pass. IT really will. Your hormones are just going NUTS! Before you know it you'll feel GREAT, maybe just 'fat' like I do. Keep thinking of the 'prize' you'll get!! What helped me is resting (pretty much all day) and keeping alittle something in my tummy at all times, seemed to keep the puking down. I hope you feel better soon-I'm sure you will. Take CAre!

threeangelsofmine - Wednesday, 26 Sep
hey, i am on my 3rd pregnancy and trust me no pregnancy is alike, you may not get sick with the next one. i didn't have m/s with my 1st two pregnancies but they were diff and this one i can't quit getting sick! it'll pass it usually does! congrats

BabyHelton - Wednesday, 26 Sep
OMG I hear ya! I swear I can't do this again. I don't know, maybe we'll feel differently after the pregnancy hormones get out of us...Hopefully?

Tara0809 - Wednesday, 26 Sep
