Tierra is two months old now! Wow how time flies. She's finally starting to let go of the whole colic deal, thank god! I thought for sure at the rate we were going I would be bald by the time she was two months old. . .
She's doing very well, 12 lbs now. . . She 'coo's at everything! She loves television (uh oh, not good) . . . she really likes the re-runs of Fresh Prince . . . she 'coo's at Will Smith all the time! LOL. She's smiling her head off (mostly at her 2am feedings - while I'm crying because I don't want to be awake!) but how can you be mad at them for waking you up when they smile at you??? Ahhh the joys of motherhood!

Ok I know everyone has been waiting for it! LOL.... I forgot how busy things actually are with a brand new baby!! On top of two other children.... whew... there are moments I forget to breathe!
So - - as some of you may already know I started leaking fluid on December 23rd. I called my doctor because I KNEW it wasn't urine but she said that if it wasn't trickling down my leg then there was no reason to worry so I started using panty liners because it was happening everytime I changed position (from laying down to sitting up, from sitting up to standing up, etc.).
On Christmas Eve day I was leaking more and more so I had to start using pads but it still wasn't tricking down my leg like she said so I wasn't worrying about it. Poor Milledge... he worked 10pm to 6am (23rd to 24th) and then had to go back in at noon on the 24th and work until 8pm so he was literally running on empty because of lack of sleep. I cooked dinner and had it ready around 7:30pm and he came strolling through the door happy because he got off a little bit earlier than he was supposed to. We ate dinner and then we were going to let the kids put the decorations on the tree (because we hadn't done it yet... I know terrible us!!). BUT!!! I went to go put my jammies on and all of a sudden I had water trickling down my leg ... this was a really weird feeling and I knew it meant she was coming out!! As soon as I said "I think my water broke" Milledge ran upstairs and grabbed his wallet and had the kids out the door to my mom's house and was back in about two minutes flat! (My mom lives across the street from us.) I had called the doctor around 7:45pm and I was waiting on her to call me back but she never did and Milledge was READY to go! So we headed off to the hospital and it's right around the corner from us so we got there at about 8:20pm. The weirdest part about all of this is that I had been having braxton hicks contractions FOREVER.... but once my water actually started leaking the contractions stopped altogether and I didn't feel a single contraction from the time my water started leaking on the 23rd to the time I sat down in the chair to be admitted to the hospital! They checked the fluid when I got there to see if it was amniotic fluid and (as I already knew) it was. So they did an exam and found that I was still only 2 cm dialated but I was a little more effaced. Given my history of 5 and a half hour births from start to finish the doctor decided to order the epidural. She wasn't happy with the way my contractions were (since my water had been leaking since the 23rd) so she started me on pitocin. I really only felt a couple of contractions that were bad enough to bring tears to my eyes before the doc came to give me the epidural. It went very well and in fact the nurses said it was a perfect epidural. I didn't really feel a thing after that. The labor was taking forever though.... Tierra just did not want to come out! They explained to me about c-sections and said that if she didn't come by 6 am they were going to do an emergency c-section. At 5am they checked me and I was only at 4 cm. They lowered the dose of pitocin (because I was at maximum). I started feeling the urge to push around about 5:30 am and the doc checked and said I was 10 cm and fully effaced and I pushed two good times and she was out at 5:41 am . . . 7 pounds 9 ounces and 21 1/2 inches long. PERFECT! Milledge was there the whole time and helped as much as he could. He was a great support during the whole labor and he even cried when she was born! I love it!
