SUNDAY 26TH AUGUST 2007

Our wedding day! We got married at 4.30pm on Butterfly Beach, Montecito, California. Alex's brother, Eddy and new wife, Giselle and my sister, Rachel and nephew Brandon, were in attendance. Eddy and Rachel were the witnesses to our wedding.

We had a lovely dinner at the Four Seasons Biltmore, Santa Barbara afterwards! A perfect day!

SATURDAY 27TH OCTOBER 2007

First day of last menstrual period!

MONDAY 5TH NOVEMBER- SUNDAY 11TH NOVEMBER

Took off on a road trip to Yosemite National Park and San Fransisco! Had an amazing time, think we conceived on this trip!

SUNDAY 25TH NOVEMBER 2007

Left Santa Barbara, for a new temporary adventure in Costa Rica! Here until 17th January.

FRIDAY 30TH NOVEMBER 2007

Period 5 days late by my calculations! Finished with birth control 2 months previous so not too concerned! Did test anyway!!! POSITIVE!! OMG, complete shock and excitement! My husband returned from work to find me in a crying mess! he gave me a huge hug and kiss!

Called my sister in England the next day, crying! She told me to calm down and I would be fine! Did another test on Monday 3rd December. POSITIVE!!! Went to see the local doctorin Coco beach, who did some blood tests and referred me to a gynogoligist! All very head spinning stuff!

THURSDAY 6TH DECEMBER 2007

First appointment with gyno! He speaks no English! All blood tests good!My blood type is o neg and my husbands is A positive, so will maybe need an injection in future to avoid complications. had an ultra sound, around 5 weeks. Doc concerned about my progesterone levels , so had more blood tests but everything seems good. Got my prenatal vits, so ready to go! Need to come back in 2 weeks.

THURSDAY 18TH DECEMBER 2007

Second visit! Had extreme nausea since last visit! Worried about throwing up in Taxi! Heat of Costa Rica is not helping at all! I see the snow in Nevada on T.V and dream of being there!

Had another ultra sound and heard the heartbeat. It was so amazing! Bit further on than 1st thought.The embryo is 1.16cm and the heart rate is 143 bpm! I am 7 wks 2 days and due date is August 3rd 2008. The doc said I also have 2 small fibroids that will need to be removed at a later date but will not affect the pregnancy.

TUESDAY 25TH DECEMBER 2007

Merry Christmas! Told my immediate family!!! They are overjoyed! What a great surprise!

FRIDAY 28TH DECEMBER 2007

Tracked Alex's family down in Ixtapa, Mexico and told them! More excited people! Feel so great. Now counting down the days until we leave Costa Rica!

Took a picture of myself but dont think I show yet? Been eating all the wrong food but a lot of stuff makes me feel nauseas! Struggling with water but trying my best! Its not just me to think about now!

Wednesday 15th January 2008

Had my first appointment of the new year today! It was awesome! Had an ultrasound and the baby was sleeping but I am sure it waved at us and kicked its leg! Heartbeat was strong 174bpm and it measures 4.99cm crl.

Now it all seems real, before you know your pregnant but cant really see anything but now, you can see something and it moves it makes it real!!! My husband is as excited as me , which is lovely!!

I have gained 2kg so far so not too bad!!! Feels like 10 though!!!

FRIDAY 7TH MARCH 2008

Just spent 2 weeks at home with my family in England and flew back to Mexico City on Wednesday. Jet lag has hit me really bad and i threw up yesterday for the first time in about 4 weeks! Old habits die hard! hahaha

I loved being at home around my friends and family and it was great to introduce them to my growing bump! I never realised how much I missed English food til now! The crumpet, cheddar cheese, marmite on toast (a yeast dark spread which you love or hate!), scones ,jam and cream! Up until week 16 I had only gained around 4lbs and in the 2 weeks in the uk I gained around another 10!!!!!!!! I can definately feel it now!

Have an appointment with my gyno today, so I hope he doesnt tell me off too much!!!???!! :-(

Gosh, you did try everything. I surely heard of all of those things and wondered if any of them worked! But thanks for the reassurance! Cute profile pic!!
Ya know I was gonna ask you if you were sure about all of your dates, like your LMP, possible conception date and the one they gave you, things like that. All of my ultrasounds and my LMP are all on point for the 8th, just seems like its not the right time? lol

Hi there! My friend Jasmine from CA just told me to hang in there, she went into labor when she was FIVE days overdue. We have some hope..anything can happen. I hope we both go into labor before the doctors have to intervene. I'm getting so bored of waiting. Nice talking to you yesterday!

Because you are probably ready for your body to go into labour then induction is nothing too bad. It does make it a bit more intense and the contractions will be stronger. I personally don't have a problem having a big baby but my first baby was only average so I can't really give advice about a first baby being big.
There is nothing wrong with being induced and to be honest if I had been offered it with my first when I was past my due date, I would have jumped at it. Just be prepared that induction can lead to the need for further intervention but not always. The other condsideration is that your baby will not get much bigger in a weeks time so the difference of weight will not be that significant.

Hi honey. A 9lb baby is a big baby! Were you or Alex large babies? Sometimes babies come out close to what their parents weighed at birth. Dennis weighed 9lbs, 6oz. when he was born! Maybe it's a sign you are having a boy because it's bigger?? It's funny that you haven't dilated any at all yet..yet so are so much more active than me! I just sit on my ass all day and eat and sleep! lol! You are so good always getting out to the store or to the pool. I haven't left my apartment in two days!
Tomorrow Dennis and I are going to Bed, Bath&Beyond to buy some new sheets. So I will actually get out of the house for a little while. I woke up at 4:30AM today, and fell back asleep by 12. Then I woke up til 5pm, and napped again til 7:45! I don't understand what is going on with my weird sleeping patterns! Dennis came home with the glider I wanted as a surprise for me today! I love it! It was out of stock so I took it off my registry, but he remembered which one it was and went to the store and they had one! I love him, he's the best.
Speaking of the baby not fitting into any of the clothes..I returned most of the clothes I got at my shower that were Newborn size. That only fits up to 7 or 8lbs. I know my baby is going to be almost or at least 8lbs. at birth, so I would rather buy 3-6mth and even larger instead. The newborn sizes your baby may not fit at all, and my baby may fit them for what, a week the most? lol!
Don't be scared about the induction. You will be fine and at least you will have an estimation of when you can expect him/her. I have no idea still..lol! I want to ask my Dr. his feelings about one and how long he wants me to wait before considering it when I see him on Monday. Ok, lets try to catch up more tomorrow!XOXO

I'm in (almost) the exact same boat. My doc won't induce until a week overdue, which is next Saturday. Had an u/s today and they estimate 8 1/2 to 9 lbs too, cervix still closed but it is thinning out at least. Phew- that's huge!! I am also 5'3''. Anyway to answer your question I am a firm believer that the baby will 'cook' until he or she is ready to come out. You have waited this long already, why not a few extra days! Best of luck to you!!

Hi,
Josh isnt sleeping that well - im feeding him every 3 to 4 hours but during the night his body clock changes and he is wide awake and alert from 1.30 to 6am. I am exhausted and Carl has gone back to work yesterday so Im doing the night shift on my own. Im camping out on the sofa so hopefully this will be easier as the fridge is on the same floor to run and get bottles and drinks for me etc. To be honest my early labour was a bit of a shock - I only went into hospital as I found a small blood clot when I had gone to the loo (sorry if TMI) and due to my stitch they told me to go in straight away. When they hooked me up to the monitors they noticed I was contracting regularly (I thought it was BH cos I had been getting strong ones for a while) so was shocked to see I was getting 3 every 10 mins. I was hooked up to the machines by 6.30am and by 8am they decided to bring my section forwards. I was in total shock and cant believe he is 2 weeks old already (however judging by his weight he would have been over 10 lb so im pleased he was early!) I know the waiting game is frustrating- Alex was well overdue and every twinge you get you are thinking 'is this it????'. Cant give you any advice apart from enjoy your free time while you have it - as when your baby is here you will be amazed how time runs away. Ive meant to sort out his top drawer as his newborn vests are too small now - yet any free time ive got im either sleeping or nipping on the pc. Hopefully the chaos will subside soon! Keep me posted on any twinges.....xx

Hi hun.I'm so sorry we haven't spoken! I was sleeping the first time you called, and then I felt so blah again all day, then I started cleaned again, and felt better, but was so tired again after. I was bleeding since Thurs. after the Dr. and it just made me feel so down and yucky, I'm sorry. It has finally stopped. It's now 9:30 am here and I can't call you back yet because that means it's 6:30am by you! Tooo early ! I promise I will call you back after my nap later. I didn't go into labor, I WISH! I'm still hanging in there with you..lol!
