SUNDAY 26TH AUGUST 2007

Our wedding day! We got married at 4.30pm on Butterfly Beach, Montecito, California. Alex's brother, Eddy and new wife, Giselle and my sister, Rachel and nephew Brandon, were in attendance. Eddy and Rachel were the witnesses to our wedding.

We had a lovely dinner at the Four Seasons Biltmore, Santa Barbara afterwards! A perfect day!

SATURDAY 27TH OCTOBER 2007

First day of last menstrual period!

MONDAY 5TH NOVEMBER- SUNDAY 11TH NOVEMBER

Took off on a road trip to Yosemite National Park and San Fransisco! Had an amazing time, think we conceived on this trip!

SUNDAY 25TH NOVEMBER 2007

Left Santa Barbara, for a new temporary adventure in Costa Rica! Here until 17th January.

FRIDAY 30TH NOVEMBER 2007

Period 5 days late by my calculations! Finished with birth control 2 months previous so not too concerned! Did test anyway!!! POSITIVE!! OMG, complete shock and excitement! My husband returned from work to find me in a crying mess! he gave me a huge hug and kiss!

Called my sister in England the next day, crying! She told me to calm down and I would be fine! Did another test on Monday 3rd December. POSITIVE!!! Went to see the local doctorin Coco beach, who did some blood tests and referred me to a gynogoligist! All very head spinning stuff!

THURSDAY 6TH DECEMBER 2007

First appointment with gyno! He speaks no English! All blood tests good!My blood type is o neg and my husbands is A positive, so will maybe need an injection in future to avoid complications. had an ultra sound, around 5 weeks. Doc concerned about my progesterone levels , so had more blood tests but everything seems good. Got my prenatal vits, so ready to go! Need to come back in 2 weeks.

THURSDAY 18TH DECEMBER 2007

Second visit! Had extreme nausea since last visit! Worried about throwing up in Taxi! Heat of Costa Rica is not helping at all! I see the snow in Nevada on T.V and dream of being there!

Had another ultra sound and heard the heartbeat. It was so amazing! Bit further on than 1st thought. The embryo is 1.16cm and the heart rate is 143 bpm! I am 7 wks 2 days and due date is August 3rd 2008. The doc said I also have 2 small fibroids that will need to be removed at a later date but will not affect the pregnancy.

TUESDAY 25TH DECEMBER 2007

Merry Christmas! Told my immediate family!!! They are overjoyed! What a great surprise!

FRIDAY 28TH DECEMBER 2007

Tracked Alex's family down in Ixtapa, Mexico and told them! More excited people! Feel so great. Now counting down the days until we leave Costa Rica!

Took a picture of myself but dont think I show yet? Been eating all the wrong food but a lot of stuff makes me feel nauseas! Struggling with water but trying my best! Its not just me to think about now!

Our pregnancy calender!

Wednesday 15th January 2008

Had my first appointment of the new year today! It was awesome! Had an ultrasound and the baby was sleeping but I am sure it waved at us and kicked its leg! Heartbeat was strong 174bpm and it measures 4.99cm crl.

Now it all seems real, before you know your pregnant but cant really see anything but now, you can see something and it moves it makes it real!!! My husband is as excited as me , which is lovely!!

I have gained 2kg so far so not too bad!!! Feels like 10 though!!!

FRIDAY 7TH MARCH 2008

Just spent 2 weeks at home with my family in England and flew back to Mexico City on Wednesday. Jet lag has hit me really bad and i threw up yesterday for the first time in about 4 weeks! Old habits die hard! hahaha

I loved being at home around my friends and family and it was great to introduce them to my growing bump! I never realised how much I missed English food til now! The crumpet, cheddar cheese, marmite on toast (a yeast dark spread which you love or hate!), scones ,jam and cream! Up until week 16 I had only gained around 4lbs and in the 2 weeks in the uk I gained around another 10!!!!!!!! I can definately feel it now!

Have an appointment with my gyno today, so I hope he doesnt tell me off too much!!!???!! :-(

Hope everyone out there is doing great. xxxxxxxxx

How`s my pregnancy doing?

I too got married last august. But I got married on August 17th in Rosarito, Mexico off of a clif. Absolutly gorgeous! That weekend was the hottest weekend of the summer. Congrats on your pregnancy and marriage!!!

mumofsix - Monday, 19 May

leenakaye28 - Saturday, 17 May
I would say BOY! I am carrying my little girl really high and I carried my son just like you- I would bet money on it- :-)

Juls023 - Saturday, 17 May
I think you're having a girl!

mumofsix - Saturday, 17 May
I'm doing well thanks. I really have nothing to complain about. I have very slight oedema in one leg but not anything like I have had before. I have been so busy with the kids, people staying, sports, church stuff, that the time is flying by. Baby seems to be in a really comfy position the last couple of days, I think he has moved from being head down to transverse. As long as he turns back down again I am happy at the moment.
Have you been able to find a doctor yet? Or a place to stay?

alexes - Saturday, 17 May
i say it's a girl =}

Hi,
I often end up wearing compression stocking near the end to help with the extra fluid in my ankles and varicous veins. It's winter here though so may not seem like a good option for you. It depends if the swelling is worse than the heat I guess.

Lucy1 - Friday, 16 May
Hi for my ankles...which have been really swollen (kankles) my doctor had me go get fitted for support hose, and buy new tennis shoes, he said flip flops and crocks etc, were no support at all, and after about two days i noticed they were gone down, and today i did not even wear the support hose, but it's best to keep them on in the daytime atleast, maybe this info can be helpful to you , goodluck

Pachy - Friday, 16 May
hi, I haven't try it yet, but my aunt swears by the pineapple with honey, for the swollen feet. I'm sure it is tasty, but I don't know if it works, let me know. Good Luck!!

jessikitty - Friday, 16 May
HEY THERE! I think i'm going to post apic of my feet and ankles to show evryone how bad they are. I am with you on thatone. I have been told to weat compression socks...they work!!

mumofsix - Monday, 12 May
Hi, How you doing today? I am plodding along fine and seem to be getting bigger than ever. I am already at my usual full pregnancy weight and I still have 12 weeks to go. Oh well, I am not worried about the extra pounds as I have always been under weight and maybe I will be a bit of a healthier weight after this little one is born. My problem has always been keeping weight on.
Are you in your own place and able to rest or are you in the unpacking stage?

mumofsix - Sunday, 11 May
I am glad to hear you are O.K now. A bit of a scare though.
Anything that can give you a stomach upset and diahrea can set contractions going. Thats how castor oil works to induce labor, the bowl contractions trigger off the uterus but you will not go into actually labor unless the body is ready. I hope thats all it was for you.
Take it easy.

mumofsix - Sunday, 4 May
Hi, Just wondering where you are at with the shifting thing.
Hope all is well for you.

suziewin - Tuesday, 29 April
Hello my friend - how are you?
Thank you for the birthday wishes - Carl ended up getting last minute tickets to see the show 'cats'. I was very excited but the theatre seats seemed terribly small and I shuffled the whole way through...lol. My belly is getting very round and im getting sympathy looks from alot of mums (already!) oh dear.....midwife appointment next week and off to see the specialist the week after so fingers crossed Ive no changes as I dont fancy being on bedrest. I convinced Carl to take next week off so he is going to be painting the kitchen and bathroom as im getting rather nervous about time ticking and not much getting done. So hows things in Mexico - it got up to 18 degrees here so how are you coping with the heat? Suze. xx

Ann-n-Sean - Tuesday, 22 April
I am very happy and greatful that my husband and friends will be here with me. Just makin a statement that its sad that his parents won't be able to seetheir first grandchild when she is first born, and my family and I are very close and I would give anything for my dad and step mom to be here.

mumofsix - Tuesday, 15 April
Indigestion is awful isn't it. I don't have it now but have had it before with my first baby. The only thing I ever found that helped was to eat really small amounts more often and to make sure the food was not too oily or fatty. It's very uncomfortable though. I find that when baby goes head down or starts to descend into the pelvis it can ease off a bit. I never found any medicine that really helped much. Sorry it's not much to offer.

suziewin - Monday, 14 April
Hi Naomi,
I think I was getting loads of BH as I seem to go crazy doing housework at the weekend when hubby is off work. We still have to paint the kitchen and bathroom before the baby arrives and I have a list of jobs to do around the house as long as my arm! Anyway I made a decision to rest today and already notice a big difference. I guess I need to take it easy and stop being like a whirling tasmanian devil on Saturdays and Sundays....lol. I have an appointment with my midwife on Wednesday so will discuss this with her too. Hows your pregnancy progressing? x

mumofsix - Wednesday, 9 April
Cute photo's by the way. You have such a small bum!!!! Mine seems to have doubled in size this time.

mumofsix - Wednesday, 9 April
I hope your appointment goes well today, keep me posted.

I put photos in my blog by uploading my photos on flikr.com
I then get the URL from the photo on flikr by clicking the photo then clicking "all sizes" This brings up the url address which I then copy. When editing a blog on i -am- pregnant you click the little camera icon and paste the url and you are pretty much done.
Sounds complicated but not really once you have done it a couple of times.

mumofsix - Tuesday, 8 April
Hi, I also wake up on my back. It has never caused any problems in other pregnancies. I think as you get bigger you naturally end up staying on your side because it is not as easy to move and you really feel the pressure then. I wouldn't worry too much.
Cramps can be for a variety of reasons, sometimes the lower abdominal ones that feel like cramps are actually the ligaments and can be very sharp and painful for a while and then ease off. Make sure you drink plenty of water, eat bananas ( good source of potassium etc that can help ease cramps) Also lack of salt can cause cramps.

jann29 - Sunday, 6 April
hey nay!!! finally feeling my lil man more often, kicks getting stronger, but still cant feel or see it from the outside!!! how bout you?

mumofsix - Monday, 31 Mar
Thanks for your lovely message. It must be very unsettling not being at a permanent abode. I have just set up my babies room and washed clothes. I guess you will need to wait a bit for that. I am sure you will easily find a good doctor back in the states. It doesn't really take long or too much energy to get sorted. I am sure you will find you have heaps of time and that you will enjoy having some tasks to do to help pass the time nearer the end of your pregnancy. It can seem to drag when everything is ready and you are just waiting for baby to come. I have just posted my latest belly shot a few minutes ago. Please feel free to ask anything, I am more than happy to help when I can.
Nice to hear you have been down under. I love living in N.Z and am so greatful to be here.
I hope your visa issues are sorted soon.
