SUNDAY 26TH AUGUST 2007

Our wedding day! We got married at 4.30pm on Butterfly Beach, Montecito, California. Alex's brother, Eddy and new wife, Giselle and my sister, Rachel and nephew Brandon, were in attendance. Eddy and Rachel were the witnesses to our wedding.

We had a lovely dinner at the Four Seasons Biltmore, Santa Barbara afterwards! A perfect day!

SATURDAY 27TH OCTOBER 2007

First day of last menstrual period!

MONDAY 5TH NOVEMBER- SUNDAY 11TH NOVEMBER

Took off on a road trip to Yosemite National Park and San Fransisco! Had an amazing time, think we conceived on this trip!

SUNDAY 25TH NOVEMBER 2007

Left Santa Barbara, for a new temporary adventure in Costa Rica! Here until 17th January.

FRIDAY 30TH NOVEMBER 2007

Period 5 days late by my calculations! Finished with birth control 2 months previous so not too concerned! Did test anyway!!! POSITIVE!! OMG, complete shock and excitement! My husband returned from work to find me in a crying mess! he gave me a huge hug and kiss!

Called my sister in England the next day, crying! She told me to calm down and I would be fine! Did another test on Monday 3rd December. POSITIVE!!! Went to see the local doctorin Coco beach, who did some blood tests and referred me to a gynogoligist! All very head spinning stuff!

THURSDAY 6TH DECEMBER 2007

First appointment with gyno! He speaks no English! All blood tests good!My blood type is o neg and my husbands is A positive, so will maybe need an injection in future to avoid complications. had an ultra sound, around 5 weeks. Doc concerned about my progesterone levels , so had more blood tests but everything seems good. Got my prenatal vits, so ready to go! Need to come back in 2 weeks.

THURSDAY 18TH DECEMBER 2007

Second visit! Had extreme nausea since last visit! Worried about throwing up in Taxi! Heat of Costa Rica is not helping at all! I see the snow in Nevada on T.V and dream of being there!

Had another ultra sound and heard the heartbeat. It was so amazing! Bit further on than 1st thought.The embryo is 1.16cm and the heart rate is 143 bpm! I am 7 wks 2 days and due date is August 3rd 2008. The doc said I also have 2 small fibroids that will need to be removed at a later date but will not affect the pregnancy.

TUESDAY 25TH DECEMBER 2007

Merry Christmas! Told my immediate family!!! They are overjoyed! What a great surprise!

FRIDAY 28TH DECEMBER 2007

Tracked Alex's family down in Ixtapa, Mexico and told them! More excited people! Feel so great. Now counting down the days until we leave Costa Rica!

Took a picture of myself but dont think I show yet? Been eating all the wrong food but a lot of stuff makes me feel nauseas! Struggling with water but trying my best! Its not just me to think about now!

Wednesday 15th January 2008

Had my first appointment of the new year today! It was awesome! Had an ultrasound and the baby was sleeping but I am sure it waved at us and kicked its leg! Heartbeat was strong 174bpm and it measures 4.99cm crl.

Now it all seems real, before you know your pregnant but cant really see anything but now, you can see something and it moves it makes it real!!! My husband is as excited as me , which is lovely!!

I have gained 2kg so far so not too bad!!! Feels like 10 though!!!

FRIDAY 7TH MARCH 2008

Just spent 2 weeks at home with my family in England and flew back to Mexico City on Wednesday. Jet lag has hit me really bad and i threw up yesterday for the first time in about 4 weeks! Old habits die hard! hahaha

I loved being at home around my friends and family and it was great to introduce them to my growing bump! I never realised how much I missed English food til now! The crumpet, cheddar cheese, marmite on toast (a yeast dark spread which you love or hate!), scones ,jam and cream! Up until week 16 I had only gained around 4lbs and in the 2 weeks in the uk I gained around another 10!!!!!!!! I can definately feel it now!

Have an appointment with my gyno today, so I hope he doesnt tell me off too much!!!???!! :-(

Greeting from chilly UK! Its been snowing over easter weekend so feels strange celebrating easter sunday having a chicken dinner seeing snow falling outside. It wasnt deep enough to make a snowman though! I had my detail scan last week and we decided not to find out the sex of the baby. It is really kicking and punching me, and can feel it rolling about inside (particularly after eating good old cadburys....lol) Hows your pregnancy going?

Hi, Thanks for your comments. It sounds like you really get about in the world. I am definitely no Guru as I am always learning with each babe but I guess I have a bit of experience to draw on. I love how each pregnancy and child are so different.

hello! im due one day before you, but i dont feel my lil man as much as others feel their babies also!!! i feel him kicking once in awhile ( it feels like popcorn popping in my stomach) lol but no strong kicks or rolls or anything like that! but thiss is our first pregnancy, and ive ask my friends and family who been preggo before and they say that you dong really feel the baby till 24-28 weeks! dont worry are day of STRONG kicks should happen soon! good luck & best wishes on the rest of your pregnancy! :)

I have said to a few others that are concerned about not feeling baby yet that often it can take a little longer first time around and also if your placenta is anterior (at the front) It cushions the kicks and you don't feel them. I have an anterior placenta for the first time out of 6 babies and it is really weired not to fell baby much. I'm sure you will feel baby more and more soon as it gets stronger.

Hi!! As to your weight gain question... I did exactly the same thing. I had gained 7 lbs until week 18 and then in ONE week I gained 5 lbs!! This week I think I have gained 1 lb. It was very shocking and kinda sad!!! I had been doing so well!!

Thanks for your comments! The baby is the size of a lime and I am already in major 'mommy/protector' mode. I know I should just enjoy this pregnancy and I will probably look back later and wish I didn't worry so much. I can't wait for my US! Much appreciation! Best of luck!!!

Hey there - Is it cold this time of year over in England? I love Santa Barbara California! We lived in Orange County, in Irvine. But, I love San Diego! If we would have moved to SD, I probably would have never wanted to move back here to Pennsylvania! I hope one day to go back. It's so cold here in Pa. We are getting a snow storm today... ugh! Amy Winehouse for your baby's music? hee hee hee, that's funny. I try to play classical music, and soft music for now... I want the baby to relax! Ha ha ha. Although, my favorite band is Duran Duran - so it can't hurt for baby to hear some of DD sometimes!
That's awesome that you'll get to visit home. Where in England will you be going. Will your family be able to come visit and stay a while with you when your baby is born? Where in California will you ultimately return to? I used to live there... just curious. I miss the California weather! Keep in touch, let me know how you are doing. :) Oh yaeh, my appt. was good. I had an u/s and baby was bouncing all around, so cute! Strong heart beat. All is well, thank goodness. Take care my friend:)

I LOVE THE LION KING! That was by far, my favorite musical. I liked it better than Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, all of them. I've seen it 3 times and loved every single one of them! Glad you got to see it.
Yaeh, those weird stretchy feelings are not too pleasant sometimes. I'm not feeling them today .. which I am thankful for. What part of Mexico are you in? How long will you be there?

My belly also made a pretty big growth spurt over the past few days. I keep wondering if something is wrong because it got so big so fast. I also am having 'growing' pains in my abdomen. Today it was really sharp. I'm also hoping my big belly is not all the salty foods I've been eating, but actually the baby. Good luck to you and your belly!!

I have had ZERO sex drive as well! Allen tries but I have just been too sick to my stomach to even want to try! Plus I have 2 kids and work full time I'm so tired now I can't even think of it! :) You are due a couple of days before me!! Are you excited?! :)

Good luck with flying. I took an international flight couple of weeks back, it was ~20 hrs and it wasnt a very pleasant experience. But I think 5 hrs should be OK. I was told by my doc to drink lots and lots of water and take a small walk in the flight to make sure I dont get sore legs.
