My profile

So this is my husband's and my first child; we're SO excited! It wasn't planned, but it was a fantastic surprise! I stopped using BC pills in September, and we tried the "natural" method of BC. Yeah, that didn't work, LOL! I recently graduated with my BS in Elementary Education, so this couldn't have come at a better time, honestly. So far, I LOVE being pregnant; I guess you could consider me one of the lucky ones (no morning sickness)! It has been such a great experience so far. I cannot WAIT to meet this little miracle! Best of luck to you, ladies! WE'RE having a BABY!!!

I love your profile picture of you and hubby. You look SO happy!

I wouldn't ever have said "I wanna do this again" when pregnant ANY of the times I've been pregnant, but when Baby gets to be a little toddler or older, the old maternal urges kick in a bit, and you don't remember how uncomfortable pregnancy is and how painful birth. So yeah, I never planned on having 6 kids (no way!) but things happen, and life takes you on it's happy ride. We're very excited to welcome another lil girl to the family (we have 2 teenage boys, 2 girls aged 10 and 13, and a boy nearly 5, so this will make it 3 of each!).

I don't feel all that heavy, but every time I see myself in a mirror I'm shocked at how huge I look

But it's not that much longer, hey. Have you got all the baby things together yet? I've got everything except a bath tub for her, I think. Even started packing a hospital bag, as two of mine were premmies, and I wanna make sure I'm prepared!!

I know... the dream was really strange. Yours sounds pretty stressful too! I read that it is very normal to have strange dreams about labor, delivery and your child, especially during the last few weeks. I am still shocked that we've got 10wks left to go.
I went and got my baby bag and started packing that with what I had around for the day he comes home... really exciting! I CANT WAIT!

Looking at your week-by-week post on 29 wks, and you're worried about weight gain. Honey, I've gained 35 lbs with this one, and that's been pretty typical for me with all my pregnancies (this will be my 6th child), but I lose it within a few months of birth, because it's just too uncomfortable not to. I'm normally about 107lbs, between pregnancies, which is very healthy (almost underweight) for my height. Don't worry - you'll be able to lose it. Breast feeding helps, and so does exercise.

Oooh... a stork delivery would be awesome!
I guess I am letting the stress really get to me.. just the other night I had this weird but vivid dream, I went into labor, but I was so worried about the entire L&D that I asked for strong medicine and whatever they gave me, was so strong that it put me out. So when I wake up, the baby was here, but I had not memory of the time from when I started labor to when I had the baby. And people had to remind me what happened... I was sooo upset when I woke up!

LOL... And all this time I thought I was the only one living in this alternate evil world of fattness! :tounge
It was such a relief to hear other ppl complain and be in the same range I am in...

Do you ever worry/stress about the delivery itself. I wonder how in the heck can I handle it!

try not to worry about the weight...everyone is so different. Your body is producing way more blood and other types of fluid and that could account for some of the weight. If you are willing and able to breastfeed it helps burn a ton of calories but it sounds like you take good care of yourself - I am sure most of the weight will come right off. It is funny, I haven't gained anything in my legs, butt or face but my belly is HUGE and my arms have gotten embarassingly huge. I am trying not to think about it (hard in the heat of summer when you have two gigantic blobs coming out of the sleeves of your shirt) and just hope that things will go back to normal once the kid arrives. Hang in there...I just laugh at myself everytime I look in the mirror and laughing about it seems to help me.

Don't feel bad about the weight. I gained 40 pounds with my first and 30 pounds with my 2nd, and I swear I ate the same both time! I was a lot thinner with my first, and somehow my body decided that meant it needed to hold onto the fat more, lol. My cousin watched what she ate and exercised constantly, and she still gained over 50 pounds with her son! There is no rhyme or reason, and you can't stop eating so try not to stress too much.

Swimming has done absolute WONDERS for me....I try to go 4 times a week, I love it. I swell a lot, you can put your finger into my leg and 10 minutes later it's still there, EEW...I hate it, but swimming helps quite a bit. I have definately slowed down in my weight gaining in the past couple weeks, THANK GOODNESS!!! I was gaining like, 6 pounds a week for the longest!

Dont worry about the weight. I know it is so hard not to( I just lost 15lbs before I got pregnant) but it will come off. I noticed a lot of the weight the first time was bigger boobs and water especially now that it is hot. For some reason the more you worry the more you put on. It will go back after the baby is born. Relax and enjoy the best you can its hard enough with a sore back, hips, heartburn, worry, no sleep etc. Besides your pictures look great. Good day.

ashleyt - Friday, 11 July
Dont wory, Im 4 weeks BEHIND you and Ive already hit 50lbs gained :( I know how your feeling.....and I too told myself that I would only gain so much, I dont feel like Ive gone crazy with my eating, my body just seems like its holding onto everything...

newmom08 - Monday, 7 July
Oh girl, I have such a hard time remebering things, that I literally will put a drink down and then have to search all over the house for where I think I put it last! It is that bad!! I did make an appt to interview, but because they are short and quick, they dont have a problem making them. It gives you a chance to ask them any questions and they will tell you what happens once you get through with labor as they will come visit you in the hospital and see the baby. They are usually understanding that you are a new mom and are gonna have concerns and questions... and honestly, the way I found out (becuase I asked my OB nurse the same thing... "How the heck do I know a pediatrician?!") They told me to ask friends and to interview!! LOL. I was like, "that is GENIUS!!"
DER!!!

newmom08 - Monday, 7 July
The best advice is to talk to your OB/GYN and ask them if there is someone they recommend. Also, I asked friends who still had kids who they took their kids too and then narrowed down the results. I actually met with the pediatrician already and felt really comfortable with him. His office laughed at me when I wanted to come in so far in advance, but I told them, "I am interviewing him... I have not selected him yet".. and they understood. Actually, he applauded me!
