It's about time that I update my page here. I am a mother to a beauitful boy named Jack, who arrived 7 weeks early in February 2008. He is amazing and I love him and his father more than anything. I first came to this site when i was 6 weeks pregnant and found this site offered a lot of support from some amazing people. I'm so happy that we have a site like this so mothers to be and mothers can communicate from all parts of the world! I had an easy labour and delivery which was great. I was attending University and had a few months left of studying when.... my water spontaneously broke (as i was eating a valentines day cupcake) and was hurried to the hospital and put on bed rest for days. they didn't want to risk having me deliver early until I had recieved a full course of antibiotics and jack had received Steriods for his lungs. He was born at 4.1 and went down to 3.11 but we were able to take him home after 2 weeks. I managed to finish my degree and began working in September. I miss him like mad but I am a Drama teacher to some delightful students.

Wednesday, 5 Mar I am delivering at the Rocky View as well. I have already been there once due to preterm labour symptoms. The girls were great there, except for one nurse that was extremely rude! Congrats on your wee one I didn't realize you delivered already. How is he doing?? UM you said that women were in labour in the same room as you... Does that mean they deliver with you in the room too?? jessicadarling -
Friday, 29 Feb My doctor put me on Celexa. I have to work my way up in the doses so I don't get too affected with side effects. I am on 10 mgs and then after a week I move up to 20 and so on until i get to a good dose soon2bjoeysmom -
Wednesday, 27 Feb Thank you for the encouragement...we almost had a scare yesterday and almost had to deliver! Freaked me out! But everything is okay...still don't know if we are going to deliver early, but the I did talk with the staff in the NICU yesterday and they were great! They made me feel so much better! They definitely will take care of any little one that comes in there! jessicadarling -

Wednesday, 20 Feb Newbiemama, the feelings you are having about being a first time mom are normal. I just wanted to say, that once your baby is born, your going to be overwhelmed with this new feeling of love that you never knew you had inside of you. Once you see your baby, all those fears you are having now, will go away. Your motherly instincts will kick in and you'll be so overjoyed. I wish you a happy and healthy pregnancy/delivery. Thursday, 14 Feb Hey I just wanted to let you know I saw your post about being nervous about being a new mom, I am 25 and have an 18 month old little girl, I felt the same way, I kept thinking OMG will I do this right, will I mess up in front of everyone, will I be able to get up all night and/or know what she is crying for and to be honest I still don't have that down. LOL sometimes I think I never will. I am 28 wks preg with another little girl and scared again, this time OMG how will I be with 2, will they both feel loved the same, will I be able to spread my attention, will one feel spoiled more than the other. Honestly I probably always will feel that way, I think it's okay to be scared, I still am and I don't feel ashamed at all for it. I know I WILL mess up here and there, sometimes when my daughter starts crying and or gets mad at me for not letting her do something I already tell her, 'It's okay to be mad at mommy, mommy's not going anywhere and mommy loves you' Sometimes I feel it's all I can do. No, I'm not saying i love being pregnant and NO, I'm not saying this was a planned pregnancy but she's almost here and there's nothing to change that. I'll be nervous the rest of my life. I understand completely how you are feeling!!! momoffive -
Sunday, 10 Feb I HATE being pregnant. I'm on my fourth and it has officially gotten old. However, the only thing worse than the women that tell me to cherish being pregnant are the people that brag about giving birth with no epidural. IT is nothing to brag about, most of them did it because they had to and make it out like they are better becasue they could. Anyway, that's my rant for now...Hang in there, jsut a few more weeks and then we get babies, which makes this all worth it! babyoneg -
Sunday, 10 Feb Yeah-- if another person tells me how great their pregnancy was I might kill em. havana*luna -
