It's about time that I update my page here. I am a mother to a beauitful boy named Jack, who arrived 7 weeks early in February 2008. He is amazing and I love him and his father more than anything. I first came to this site when i was 6 weeks pregnant and found this site offered a lot of support from some amazing people. I'm so happy that we have a site like this so mothers to be and mothers can communicate from all parts of the world!
I had an easy labour and delivery which was great. I was attending University and had a few months left of studying when.... my water spontaneously broke (as i was eating a valentines day cupcake) and was hurried to the hospital and put on bed rest for days. they didn't want to risk having me deliver early until I had recieved a full course of antibiotics and jack had received Steriods for his lungs. He was born at 4.1 and went down to 3.11 but we were able to take him home after 2 weeks. I managed to finish my degree and began working in September. I miss him like mad but I am a Drama teacher to some delightful students.

Hi, yes I'm getting rib jabs daily. The good thing is this means the baby is head down! You should see that at the U/S.

Where in Canada are you from? I am in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.

I found out today my leave is unpaid....as for childcare....it runs like $110-120/wk
I am fortunate...my sister is keeping my baby so I will be paying like 70-85 per week.

Hey-- I am going back to work five months after the baby comes. That might change, though. I might take a little longer... we'll see.

Hi
Thanks for your message and advice its great to know im not alone. I have talked to my Dr and im taking anti depressents yet as i feel i can cope at the moment and i have more good days than bad. How are you and your little potatoe? Not long to go now!

jenn1022 - Friday, 11 Jan
I was going to ask if anyone else here felt depression, I didn't know what was wrong with me so I just decided to not say anything, lately I have felt really down, I didn't want to tell anyone. I thought they would say your pregnant your supposed to be happy. But I'm glad you shared your experience with us. I didn't know they treated depression during pregnancy, Anyway I am glad you are getting help for it and I hope you feel better soon.

Hi! I'm from Week 32. It's also my first. I don't know, it's kinda freaky. But I don't think my panic has gotten any worse since week 27...but your body continues to balloon and do all sorts of weird things. My boobs started leaking today. It's getting harder to get up and down, stuff like that. I like the book, 'From the Hips.' It's a street-wise sort of pregnancy book. Take Care!

I like reading The Baby Book by Dr Sears. Lots of great info, though a bit preachy at times.

olga777 - Monday, 7 Jan
Hello! I just read your comment on week 32. It does get easier from about week 31 to 33 when the baby starts to drop and you it is easier to breathe. But emotionally it get harder :) As for me I start to worry more and get more scared as the due date gets so close. It's my first too so I have no idea how contractions feel. Also my doctor tells me to count baby movements. It scares me when she is not very active sometimes. Sometimes she turns and rolls so much I worry she will be breeched when I go into labor (she is head down now). We got all ready with the car seat and other things in case I go into labor early... It's a little less excited and more scary now I think. I een kind of want to stay pregnant longer when before I couldn't wait when I get into my last 2 months of pregnancy.

btw, about the book, I'm reading Secrets of the baby whisperer by Tracy Hogg and if you want, just for fun and a good laugh, read 'Belly Laughs': The Naked Truth about Pregnancy and Childbirth By Jenny McCarthy. hope it helps:) here is the link for a litle intro to this book http://books.google.com/books?id=FPzap8_I4SgC&dq=belly+laughs+book&pg=PP1&ots=13NbvOxgUT&sig=KYwaF5bsje8UmoEU-nfxQxNEpLw&prev=http://www.google.com/search%3Fsource%3Dig%26hl%3Den%26rlz%3D%26q%3DBelly%2BLaughs%2Bbook&sa=X&oi=print&ct=title&cad=one-book-with-thumbnail#PPA1,M1

Ughhh the panic attacks are nuts. I definitely feel in over my head sometimes. And by the way, I am currently reading BabyWise (my sis got it for me for Christmas) and I LOVE it.

bec1008 - Wednesday, 2 Jan
Hey thanks for the reassurance, its a little scary.. I went in for an ultrasound today and they couldn't see anything that could determine any problems.. The baby was nice and healthy and he was moving around which made me feel better.. I find out the exact results next tuesday so fingers crossed that everything is okay. I think its good to worry a little when it comes to these things, i thought i was over-reacting but i was right to go to the emergency. Good luck on your pregnancy and thanks again for the advice, it feels good to know someone else out there who can relate!

angelamouzakitis - Wednesday, 2 Jan

So far, the doc says everything is cool, and Im not super neurotic, but comparing to the other women on the site, there is a distinct difference in the belly sizes. I see my doc again on the 17th so we'll see. Good luck

Hi, Thank you so much for your posting about the spotting. It is nice to hear that other mothers are going through the same thing and that it is not something to worry about.

When i went in for my doctors appointment, they could not find anything wrong with my baby. They said that everything looked normal for this stage in the development. Plus, i have not been in any pain or discomfort at all.

Congrats on your pregnancy. Take care. :)

margysd - Saturday, 22 Dec
Thanks for your message. I agree--the medical community does have attitudes like the 60's. I am not sure why, because most pregnancies are healthy. I support a woman's decision to have a baby at any any age. It is a personal decision. Congrats on being pregnant at 33. :)
