I am very excited about this pregnancy. This is my first baby and it means the world to me already. I feel like being a mom is my real purpose in life! My husband and I both have no blood relatives in our lives....so this is a big deal. :)

So far, my favorite things about being pregnant are:

-feeling the baby move. It always makes me smile.

-My belly bump

-hearing the heartbeat/seeing the baby moving on the Ultrasound

-daydreams about holding our baby when he/she is born, daydreams about the baby sleeping on my chest, daydreams about the first smile

-sitting in our new rocking chair and invisioning us in the nursery with the baby

Thank you.. i just feel like its a waste of my time to go on there and read all about people trying to induce.. its kinda frustrating.. its weird they are all trying to rush things along and I'm trying to keep him in and I'm already dilating and their babies aren't budging ha... How are you feeling?

walg79 - Thursday, 15 May
No, I'm scheduled for a c-section because I had an emergency one last time. But, this time, the baby is so low, the doctor doesn't know if she'll wait till the scheduled date. This would mean another "emergency" section. I was hoping so hard to have a relaxed one this time. Last time was a nightmare. I just didn't realize that dropping made such an inpact on labor. I thought dialating and effacing were the 2 big ones. I thought the dropping didn't matter until you were dialted a little. Silly me....lol

thanks for the info on the birth plan! i'm going to mention it to my doc tomorrow and gauge his reaction....

LOL, my cat likes to lay on my laptop too! He tries to lay across my arms as I type... so cute. Glad to hear the foil is working out! That's awesome that you got your changing table too. It's definitely good to hold off & see what type of blessings we get from others!
Our bedding is kind of green, brown & cream color. It's a gender-neutral nursery... at least in theory... but I think it looks a bit boyish. I'll just have to throw some pink in there if it ends up being a girl! I have a couple of pics of me in the nursery in my photos section of my page, too.
I get another u/s in about 2 wks... can't wait! I just love seeing the little cutie on the screen. My hubby e-mailed out some u/s pics to some people, and I actually had a guy in church tell me he thought the pics were "creepy!" I was like, thanks a lot! Oh well, not everyone likes that type of thing...

mplsmama - Sunday, 4 May
Yeah, I hear ya! It's hitting me too how soon this could come! From your pics it looks like you have your nursery pretty well set though... that's gotta feel good! Ours is coming along pretty well, though I haven't bought my bedding yet. I have another shower on 5/17 so I'm trying to hold off on buying everything else until after that shower. Then I'll probably hit Babies R Us & go hog wild! :}

lol no i said diapers only. she doesnt need ANYYYYTHING whatsoever. seriously. i spent 90 bucs the other day on pointless, useless toys she probably wont touch because she has so many, and yesterday i spent 40 bucks on stuff i didnt need to waste time. we didnt buy a lot of diapers because were moving in less than 2 months, and diapers would be annoying to bring. so were gunna use our gift cards for those :]

mplsmama - Saturday, 3 May
Yeah, it's a bit comforting to know that even if my baby came into this world at this point, s/he would probably be totally fine since s/he already weighs so much! And actually it won't be up to me if I have a c-section -- it'll be up to my dr! It really just depends on when I go into labor. If I went a bit early, there's a better chance I'd give birth vaginally. If I went full-term, I'd more likely need the c-section. I know that petite women can deliver large babies... your size doesn't have much to do w/ it, from what I understand. It has to do with how large the opening is in your pelvic bone. So... I'll get another u/s at 37 wks and they'll re-evaluate at that point. We'll see! I just want him/her to come into this world safely, that's all!

Hey there, I just thought I'd update you after my u/s today.... first, I got some awesome face shots which are so awesome! S/he is soooo cute! Chubby little cheeks and all. And the tech said s/he already had hair! So cute! But... it's been confirmed that s/he's a very large baby. :( They estimate the baby is already 6 1/2 lbs. Now they're saying if I went full-term the baby would probably be at least 9 1/2 lbs. So I will likely need a c-section. I really was scared of the idea until my dr described the risks of vaginal birth w/ that large of a baby... and I decided I'm very at peace w/ the idea of the c-section now! I jsut want the baby to come into this world safely. I'm actually handling the news better than I thought.... I guess it's b/c there's nothing you can do about it!
Hope all is well w/ you...

He knows your fluids are low by doing an ultrasound. it will show q1,q2,q3,q4...which is the different quadrants of your belly he measures. Then all 4 numbers are added and thats he knows. i think 25 is top of the scale.

Grace - Wednesday, 23 April
I don't count them, usually he keeps on moving, and when he's not he's sleeping so I don't worry. They're running out of room now so they will move less. I think that if you go so long without feeling them then you should start to do kick counts. I'll just push on him a little and he will kick back, but usually he has his brothers and sister bumping and feeling him, so he'll give a nudge then. Don't worry, push it around a little to see if you can wake it up, it's gotta be cozy in there and they get rocked to sleep by our movements and the daily noises become a comfort so they might just be hard to wake sometimes.

mplsmama - Monday, 21 April
My ultrasound is next Thursday [5/1]. I can't wait! I didn't think I'd get any more ultrasounds, so I guess that's the only "plus" to having this big-baby problem! :-] I'll keep you posted...

mplsmama - Friday, 18 April
Oh how funny -- I've gained 29 lbs too! My dr was really just anticipating that either the baby will be at least 8 lbs, or else I'm carrying extra amniotic fluid. The u/s should be able to tell me exactly what the deal is. I kind of hope it's extra fluid! Either way it helps explain why I have such a large belly! I think I read that at this point your fundal height is around the same # as the # of wks you are... and I measured 37! So I'm measuring like someone who's 37 wks, which is full-term! It kind of makes me wonder if I'll "go early..." We'll see!

mplsmama - Friday, 18 April
Hey I had my appt today and guess what... my dr said my baby is measuring really big! Yikes! She said she's predicting at least an 8 pound baby -- which shocked the heck out of me considering I'm only 5'3" and my husband is 5'7"... we're not exactly big people! What the heck? I'm nervous! I'll get an ultrasound in 2 wks to find out exactly how big this baby is... keep your fingers crossed for me... I do not want to have a massive baby! :-\

mplsmama - Thursday, 17 April
Hey, just another unsolicited tip on introducing the cat to your baby... someone told me to put aluminum foil in the crib, so that if the cat jumps in there, they'll hate the feeling & jump back out. I thought that was pretty clever. Maybe you'd already heard that one, but I thought I'd pass it on in case you hadn't!
Hope you're doing well otherwise! I have a dr's appt tomorrow & hope to get a "good report." My baby has been laying sideways the past few times so I'm really hoping s/he turns sometime soon! We'll see!

mplsmama - Tuesday, 15 April
Oooohhhh, I hear ya! That would tick me off too! People can be so dumb. My boss is kind of doing the same thing... just sticking me w/ the trainee while he gets to go on w/ his day w/o any interruptions. It's like, you're the one making the big bucks there buddy boy! She's your little protege -- you train her! And to stick someone w/ you w/ no notice, how annoying.
The only thing that keeps me going is knowing I won't have to be there much longer... ;-]
Oh, and thanks for the comment on my cat pic -- we just love him & hope to God he'll be accepting of the baby. We're trying to prepare him by downloading clips of baby crying off the internet & playing them... it's so funny to watch his reaction!

mplsmama - Saturday, 12 April
Thanks for your response on wk 31 to my parking spot dilemma... I agree, that trainee can walk several blocks for now! My goodness! Who in the world is that big of an idiot to make a seriously pregnant woman carry a bunch of stuff several blocks while giving the close parking spot to a perfectly able-bodied young woman? Ooohhh, I get po'd every time I think about it! Grrrr....

The book was called Natural childbirth the Bradley Way by Susan something. It is a great book and has a lot of things for you and your "coach" to practice with.

hmmmmmm...............who's going to deliver 1st.?

merideth - Tuesday, 8 April
hi i've had 2 baby showers so far, and i did get a few things off my registry. for the most part, i got clothes that people picked out themselves and no receipt! oh well, i guess the baby will be well dressed.

MAGGIEMAE - Monday, 7 April
I agree with you on the C-sections. Unless its medically neccesary I dont see why its so common. I also think that doctors jump the gun on it. Maybe they get more money from insurance companies! There is a certain someone on this site that is soooooo defensive. Everytime someone has an opinion and it turns out that its opposite of what that person is doing she goes crazy on you with comments! She is young so maybe she feels insecure with her decisions and feels a need to lash out! Ha. but just wanted you to know there are people out there that agree with ya. :)

mariela14 - Sunday, 6 April
Haha, I'd say it's most probable that they just want to go play golf or something so they have it all scheduled out. lol. That's funny though. Thanks for the comment on my pic. I can't figure out how to make it not look so stretched out!

mariela14 - Sunday, 6 April
I completely agree with your comment on c-sections! People in other countries deliver naturally all the time and people did it for thousands of years naturally without any drugs or surgeries! I don't understand why a lot of doctors like scheduling c-sections so much instead of allowing nature to take its course.

merfett30 - Saturday, 5 April
