Ohhh he's ADORABLE!! What a sleepy little guy! I can't WAIT to see my little man! I bet you just find yourself staring at him sometimes, huh? I can't imagine! Nettie27 -
Saturday, 20 September Yeah, the epi I will be getting actually has a button that the patient controls, which is great. If I want another shot of the medicine, I just push the button. Of course, the medicine will only disburse itself every certain amount of time though, so I can't overdose or anything!
Went to the OB today, and I'm finally making some progress!! I'm 1 cm dilated and 60% effaced, so he's on his way!! I hope this weekend, but we'll see. I'm due monday, but if he's still around by next friday, I'll be induced after that... so another week at most!! Wish me luck! :-) leesa007 -

Friday, 19 September Hey Honey!!!! I was wondering when that baby boy was going to come. How was delivery??? You need to be posting some pictures of that little man. Isn't motherhood wonderful!!!! I'm glad you finally have your baby in your arms. Let me know when you post some pictures. I hope you are feeling well and that you have a quick recovery. adriennella -
Thursday, 18 September Oh, my doc just said that Aveeno is gentler than Johnson's. She said that babies don't need perfumes. That being said, Rose has this terrible baby acne and all I use is Aveeno. Use whatever works for you!
I hate the face bumps. They make me sad. I know it seems so shallow, but I want my baby's perfect skin back. It looks sooooooooo painful!
I just called the lactation consultant and she told me some great stuff.
1. There's a 5-5-5 rule with breastmilk. It can stay fresh at room temperature for 5 hours! You can keep it fresh in the refrigerator for 5 days. You can freeze it for 5 months.
2. Use the breast that produces more milk first.
3. Pump in the middle of your baby's longest nap.
I didn't know any of that!

Thursday, 18 September My doctor said to put oil on her head after the cradle cap. My mom used olive oil and a baby hat overnight and then brushed it off softly in the morning.(on my brother)
I heard that you should only use baby powder if you put it on your own hands and then rub it on the baby...something's bad about them inhaling the powders.
I only use Aveeno stuff...what my pediatrician recommended...I have a cabinet full of johnson's! adriennella -
Thursday, 18 September Rose got an ugly rash on her face this week. It's pimply and gross. Apparently it's normal in week 3 or 4. Something called cradle cap comes next. Ewww. Just thought I'd give you the grody heads up. adriennella -
Thursday, 18 September I shouldn't have brought Rose to the mall. She had a horrible time relaxing that whole day. My mom told me that we overstimulated her, and I think she was right. Malls will not be visited for a good amount of time. I'll shop online or at Target, or I'll just do without for a while. Today we took it easy and Rose is so pleasant.
I haven't watched the video yet, but I will. I have two copies and was going to offer you one. Looks like every new mommy has it! I use the shushing in the ear thing and swaddling and paci, but I'll have to see what else he says.
Have you left your parents house for a walk or anything? How are you healing? Nettie27 -
Thursday, 18 September I'm getting the type of epidural that is patient controlled..so it's a smaller amount of medicine that goes in, but you can re-dose yourself at given times.. I kind of like that, b/c I don't want to be completely numb as far as pressure goes.. I just don't want all that pain!!! I'm glad the pain wasn't terrible for you; that gives me hope since I have no idea what I'm in for!!!
It's so great that you're doing the diaper thing! I knew an older lady that was in denial that she couldn't hold her pee in like she used to, so she didn't wear depends..so she always left pee spots in places!!! It was so sad! If I have that problem, I'll be proud to wear them!! LOL
Ohhh I can't imagine the pain of the hemorrhoids when trying to take care of your baby! Oh the pain we go through!!! I hope you're feeling better and I pray that I will be an excellent mommy too!!

Wednesday, 17 September Oh my gosh, I just read part of your story to my mom and Russell. They laughed so hard!!!!!!!
Random question...I have a dvd called The Happiest Baby on the Block. Actually, I have two copies. Do you have it? adriennella -
Wednesday, 17 September You and I are definitely going to have to help each other break the babies of the paci habit!
Which sling carrier did you get?
I got those nipple guards by Medela from Target and they helped SOOOOOOOOO much when I had the mastitis. They were only 5 dollars!
Doesn't it make you melt to watch Lawaiian with the baby. Russell's holding Rose right now and I have never seen him more handsome then when he's with her. Nettie27 -
Wednesday, 17 September So do you feel all the pressure even though you had pain meds? Is that why it feels like you have to poop? Yeah, my sis-in-law told me to get diapers too! I'm so nervous about the hemorrhoids; I'm already getting them now and they're so uncomfortable!
I can't imagine the maternal instincts that come with having a child! I hope those nurses know what they're doing when they handle my little man!
Trust me, I can't wait to GIVE my birth story! LOL... I'll def keep in touch! Best of luck to you!!

Wednesday, 17 September Wow, what a birth story! Thank goodness you were in the bathroom when your water broke! I'm sorry I didn't tell you about that urge to poop feeling. I never got that feeling, but the docs kept asking me if I had it!
The end of your birth story nearly made me cry. You and Lawaiian are going to be wonderful parents. adriennella -
Wednesday, 17 September Hi! Thanks for the hooter hider tip! Rose hates being covered when I feed her, so I might try that out!
So far, I think you have most things that help me! Good nursing bras from Pea in the Pod (worth the extra money) ar helping me out. Rose loved being swaddled at first and I got extra big receiving blankets from Dwell Studio at Target that I used over and over. I also use those to cover her carseat when we go places. My doctor recommended no Johnson's products, so I got Aveeno stuff...and it's great...very gentle.
Do you have a baby book? I got a nice one at Pea in the Pod called My Baby's Journal. It has pockets for cards and pictures.
Oh, and Rose loves laying in my Boppy now. I don't even use it for breastfeeding any more.
I'm sorry that I don't write you back more often. You cross my mind every waking hour, and I'm so happy for you!!
How's breastfeeding? Are you sleeping? What do you love most about being a new mommy? Is Lawaiian just beside himself in love? Nettie27 -
Wednesday, 17 September I'm so bummed because I have eaten spicy foods all my life (including throughout my pregnancy) and I think my body is immune to it, so there's no effect when I eat it!! BOO!!! But I'm taking primrose oil and walking as much as I can, so hopefully this week it will happen!! :-) I'm so glad you're doing so well

Tuesday, 16 September Your post made me so happy. I felt the same way afterwards about Russell. We feel very lucky to have each other and to have this baby with us. It's just lovely that you're sharing all of this with your perfect husband.
How long were you in the hospital? Do you have your birth story? Pictures??? How was it being with your aunt? adriennella -
Tuesday, 16 September I cannot tell you how excited I am for you and Lawaiian. I wish I could give you a big old hug and a kiss on the cheek. Enjoy these first moments, take pictures, and kiss that baby way too many times.
I would love to hear about your birth, see pictures, and catch up. More than that, I would love you to rest. Talk to you soon. *pinkneptune -
