Friday, 12 September You have a beautiful face!!!!!!! I think you're so lovely, really.
Oh my gosh, you are obsessed! My MIL buys me expensive makeup for Christmas and stuff, and I'm so grateful. I acutally wear a teeny bit because of her!
I have a weakness for lotion and bubble bath! I have at least 10 of each. adriennella -
Friday, 12 September LOL...yeah Russell knows!
That is a weird secret! Do you buy expensive stuff? adriennella -
Friday, 12 September LOL...yeah, it's my deepest secret. I only did it at night and in private. I do hate my teeth! adriennella -

Friday, 12 September You are very prepared!
I wasn't so sure about pacifiers before having a baby. I was going to wait for a month and see what happened. While I was in the hospital I told them no pacifiers or bottles, but she came back from her heel prick with one in her face! I've used them since then and for me they've been great. Rose eats well but sometimes she just wants to suck for comfort. She's even given herself a hickie on her arm! I'm not saying you should use them, though! I was just surprised at how much I ike them...LOL! adriennella -
Thursday, 11 September I really hope you have Jarrod while your auntie is there. That will be so special!
I feed Rose before the trips and change her here. The other day I fed her a bit in the car, too. Twice Russell and I have changed her in the car. Those portable changing pads are so useful!
We only carry diapers, that pad, wipes, a onesie, 2 pacifiers, and our baby carrier in our diaper bag. It makes it easy to go out when you keep it simple!

Thursday, 11 September Well, I think that's wonderful that nothing hurts your hoo ha!!! You should have a glorious labor and delivery, LOL! I hope so!!
I spotted more from my cervicals than my sweep.
Sounds like you should write down some of those contractions! You really sound on your way. Oooh, the thought of it just gave me butterflies in my belly. I'm so excited for you!
The diaper rash is gone!!! I used Desitin because it's all I had. I had been told that it can be bad, but it worked in 24 hours.
Today Rose and I went out alone for 2 hours! We went to the bank, post office, Starbucks, Target, and El Pollo Loco (drive through only). Yipee for girl trips around town.

Thursday, 11 September I'm sorry it took me so long to reply. Rose's first diaper rash and a pretty sleepless night took me out of commission. Last night was so much better and I feel alive today! Yipee!
The membrane sweep is when they separate the cervix from the bag of waters. Mine hurt like hell, but other people say it doesn't hurt. It sounds like your doc may be doing it. My contractions started the night after mine (Thursday), but I didn't have 5 minute contractions until Sunday night. Rose came on Monday. jenelle -

Thursday, 11 September My mother lives in TN and my dad lives in CT. My mom's been my only parent, really, and she's coming out to help me for a few weeks starting on Friday.
I'm also so close to one of my aunts. She lives in Seattle and I visit her often. Isn't it great to have a close auntie!
Does your doctor do membrane sweeps. Mine hurt, but I think that's what pushed me over the edge. adriennella -
Thursday, 11 September sorry I haven't written all day. I had a rough night and my MIL came over to help today. She let me have a nap...phew! Rose has her first little diaper rash and I was surprised at how much it upset me. I felt guilty and I guess it showed because my MIL told me that it wasn't my fault.
Are you close to your aunt that's coming for a visit? How long is she staying?
By the way, my water didn't break until I was well into labor (more than 12 hours) and had been 100% effaced forever. adriennella -
Wednesday, 10 September How was your day? My day was good. Two of my friends came over for visits with their babies. They're both very close to me and it was wonderful to see them. They were easy to be around. Rose and I took our first solo trip out of the house. It's really hard to do things like leaving your baby for the first time, going out alone, and even going out with your spouse...but they're things you have to make yourself do right away I think. She cried all the way to Target, but I knew she'd be ok. As soon as I got near her and she saw my face she stopped crying. Ok, so Target's 5 minutes from my house, but I felt like it was a big deal to drive through the crying and to know that she'd be fine.
It is too bad that we live so far apart! I'd love to take you out for a margarita or to come to one of your fabulous parties. I'd bet you and Lawaiian would have a great time at one of Russell's gigs, too! adriennella -
Tuesday, 9 September LOL...ok, no more complaining about my visitors...that is until I get some more..LOL!
I have a secret code with Russell to get rid of guests, but I've been timid about using it. I don't know why! He keeps waiting for me to say "I'm going to lie down" which is his cue to get rid of people. I'm the one not using it...LOL!
I'm a bit worried about the germs, too, but not too much. It might sound silly, but I have a pretty strong immune sytem from teaching. 2nd graders really expose you to so many nasties! I really don't get sick and I figure I'm passing on some good immunities to her from breastfeeding.
I'm working so hard on not getting to paranoid...still I check her breathing so many times each night. It's ridiculous.
I enjoy writing to you, too! You're a funny one! I'm more candid with you than my friends in person...LOL!
Are you getting in any more trouble in Week 38 today? adriennella -
Tuesday, 9 September Ooh, you're going to get blacklisted from your week! LOL.
That induction question was asked in my week as well. I was also questioned about my membrane sweep. I think it's fine that people question. Different doctors (and different countries for that matter) handle things so differently. I learned that in the UK they don't check for dilation and effacement like they do here.
I had wanted to take a two week break from visitors, but I'm enjoying them a bit...and it's making me shower and clean up the house which is good for beating those baby blues. My biggest problem is that people seem to stay for hours. None of my guests have been here less than 2 hours. I know that doesn't seem long, but it's an eternity. I figure if I've breastfed and changed two diapers while you've been here it should be your cue to go.
Thank you for the encouragement and advice. You're a sweet friend...even if I only know you here. adriennella -
Tuesday, 9 September LOL...I love that you're a food spoiled brat! Sounds like you get lots and lots of spoiling in your life...good for you!
I had some friends come over today. I felt so out of it, tired and pretty useless. I felt that I didn't ahve anything really to talk about. I'm soooooooooo not cut out to be a stay at home mamma. I love this time with Rose and don't want to go back to work, but I also know that part of me is missing right now. Does that make sense?
Are your parents spoiling you? oxSARAxo -
Tuesday, 9 September tyvm, I appreciate your comment, I am really amazed at how many women are being induced, i think it is totally ridiculous! adriennella -
Monday, 8 September Yeah, I had about 30 hours without food and when they finally fed me it was NASTY! I couldn't eat when I was in labor and wasn't hungry during labor, though. I was flipping thirsty, though!
I didn't have trouble eating when I brought Rose home. I cooked a bunch of stuff and froze it and stocked the fridge with lunchmeat and yogurt and fruit...stuff that's easy. I also had bagels and granola bars here. Russell really helped me, but there are ways to eat even with a baby in your arms. You'll get some skills you never thought you'd have! Ok, I would recommend straws though...drinking is harder than eating! adriennella -
Monday, 8 September I'm looking forward to hearing what's happening. If you are going into labor, I'm hoping that it's an easy one! If I could give you some advice, I'd say to eat before the hospital, get the epi, and bring snacks for Lawaiian!!
